Harbour View, Naas West, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 X021, Ireland, Naas
Modern, fine-dining establishment with a French menu, stripped flooring and smart grey banquettes.
Absolutely loved it the food was amazing, and the flavour was the best Ive tasted in years.Highly recommend it
We are very lucky to have a restaurant of this quality in Naas. Food is consistently excellent, and good value given the current environment. Wine list is also very extensive which is a real plus. Lovely ambiance also, will be returning.
Fantastic restaurant excellent service and food staff are very friendly
Dined here last night and as always enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. Dublin Bay prawns to start are particularly good with a varied selection of mains. Service is excellent. Already looking forward to our next visit
Enjoyed a nice three course meal here as part of a group. One can take a nice walk along the canal nearby afterwards.
Excellent food friendly helpful staff
Fab food, delicious seafood. Lovely setting too
Top class food. Specials menu great value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
The food is good, the restaurant is modern & the staff are nice, 3 stars as the food is overpriced in my opinion & not good value for money, specials board has also been done away with, have been going here since 2015, dont think Id go back now
Our party of four had a very enjoyable dinner, having eventually found parking nearby. The food quality is excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. This is one of the best up-scale restaurants in the Naas area and the place was almost full on the Wednesday evening we visited. We will certainly return.
My favourite local restaurant. Been for dinner or lunch four or five times this year and always very impressive.Loses one star for me as Ive just had lunch this afternoon, ordered steak, and it was really poor. Very dry and over cooked, served without any sauce. Nobody asked if I was enjoying the meal so didnt have an opportunity to mention to the team. Will return to try again but disappointing after looking forward to it.
Food was phenomenal. We had the mssel and heirloom tomato starter and both had the fish main and couldnt fault any of it. Staff we extremely helpful and attentive.
Very nice food and staff. A bit pricey but if you compare the food served in other local restaurants is worth it to pay
Amazing food! One of the nicest restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in. Excellent service. The ambience is intimate with a lovely buzz.
It is official Vie De ChΓ’teau is now my absolute favourite restaurant. The food is out of this world. Everyone has to visit this beautiful little slice of French delight. Starters, main and dessert all amazing, even their coffee is something special. Loved our time there and can not wait to return.ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
Id eaten here before and it was fantastic, but this time was only very good. I enjoy the atmosphere and its a bit more formal feeling, so its nice for a celebration meal. Bit pricey too, but nothing you wouldnt expect with this type of restaurant. I had the prawns too start and I was kind of disappointed I gotta say. They didnt really have much flavor to them before I added I lemon provided, and then all I could taste was lemon after obviously. The mussles I had for mains were very good though, and my dessert was a fantastic chocolate fondant recommended by the waitress. Half a bottle of wine as well, all told about β¬40.Tl;Dr: It was very good, just not as nice as the last time I ate here.
Food excellent (recommend the Tarte Tatin)Atmosphere excellent4 stars due to slow service between courses (went on a busy Friday night)
After years of hearing friends and family talking about how good VDC is we went for lunch. Food was every bit as great as we had been told. Will definitely go back again.
Main and starters excellent, cheese board was a bit disappointing. Staff excellent. Decor was more modern than I expected. A bit pricey but it is a treat. We were a large group but everything was brought within minutes of eachother so nobody left waiting. Overall happy.
If you like French cousine then youll live this place.I liked it,interesting food with explosive flavours and colours.Great staff, the wine was particularly good.
Good food. Have eaten here a couple of times and food is a good standard. Have had steak a couple of times though and not been impressed either time, most recently had my steak massively overcooked. Desserts are top quality, some of the nicest youll get anywhere. Unfortunately, ambience of restaurant is not pleasant and very pretentious
Amazing food. Decent service. Well worth a visit.
We were a party of 4 for dinner at 20.15 on Friday 29/10/2021. When we arrived we were told our table was not ready, we had to go back outside on a rainy windy night our wait was approx 15mins, we then approached the reception again to enquire about our table. We were then directed to a table along a wall with tables very close indeed given covid. There was ver little room on either side and a wooden bar was behind where staff and customers had to pass behind our table. We were not comfortable with this position and asked to be moved outside even with a cold night this was preferable to inside. After a wait again we were offered another table near the door, this was highly appreciated and we were delighted. During our food service, and when I had not finished my first course I was asked 3 time was I finished, and in the end I told them to take it in case I finished it! When it came to desert, on being handed the menu it was dropped by the waitress and no apology was offered. The food in this establishment if 10 out of 10 but the quality of service is definatly lacking. While we were outside waiting in our lift to pick us up, we were asked did we need a taxi called. We were not sure if that was because they were concerned or they wanted to lock up and leave. We were dissapointed overall.
Really excellent. Whenever they have something involving a lobster bisque, I am ordering it. Sublime. Lovely wine list too.
We used Vie De Chateaux catering for a christening meal at home at the weekend and it was fabulous! It was easy to order and discuss a last minute change due to allergens with the team. The team were so helpful and the food was delicious. Our family wolfed it. We will definitely use them again for home catering as well as visiting the restaurant. Thanks π
This was the best meal we have had this year. Attentive staff, very good size portions, and not too expensive. Cant wait to go back... this place is quaint and chic, but not pretentious.
Excellent food and absolutely top class service. Highly Recommended
Lovey experience, very good food. Very friendly staff. We sat outside in the warm sunny environment. This helped to take make the experience even better. Food was very smart and intuitive, would strongly recommend the goat cheese with gazpacho.
Gorgeous meal and a lovely atmosphere with great service.
Really lovely food and great staff. My only negative is the lack of options for vegetarians. That said, the vegetarian options we had were beautifully put together and very tasty. We had a fantastic evening and will absolutely return.
Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Our waitress Lena was so attentive. I couldnt recommend more highly
Living in Naas, I go to Vie De Chateaux quite regularly. Each and every time the experience has been phenomenal, from atmosphere, to service and especially the food. This will definitely be the first dine-in restaurant that I visit post-COVID!!
Extraordinary take-away again last night from Vie de Chateau. Incredible flavors perfectly brought together and beautifully presented (yes...it was take-away). We canβt wait for lockdown restrictions to be lifted so we can return to the exceptional restaurant ambiance Franck & his team create. In the meantime, itβs a real treat having your wonderful food at home. Thank you so muchπ
Just ordered takeaway here due to the lockdown, its my first time having a fancier than usual takeaway and all Ill say is that it wont be the last time! The dinner was super tasty, full of flavours and perfectly balanced. The short interaction with the staff when picking up the food was a pleasant one, and I will definitely be going back there soon.Merci et Γ la prochaine!
Visited VDC on Friday 2nd and was shocked to walk in the door and find it so busy. Barely 1m between our table and the next. Service was poor. Food is absolutely delicious. Overall I wouldnt recommend due to lack of spacing between tables and the poor service. Also, we had a voucher given to us as a present from a friend and VDC refused to accept it for takeaway during lockdown. Surely its illegal to refuse your own voucher!!!
We went to the place when the restrictions were lifted in Kildare, and they had it very nicely set up in accordance with covid guidelines. We got a corner room, we were a table of four people and the food was excellent. There was no one else in that corner room, so safety wise it was a very comfortable experience. All the waiters were wearing face masks/shields.Only thing I would say is that the cuisine is not well suited for vegetarians. They had one starter and one main that was veg, which was sort of pleasing in a way that I didnt have to choose. So as a vegetarian I felt a little limited, but the options they did have were excellent. Usually vegetarian food done in french restaurants is a bit meh, but it was very good here. Also the creme brulee was excellent if you are thinking about which dessert!
The food was absolutely superb, incredibly delicious and perfect portion size. Staff were friendly and attentive. I cant recommend this place enough!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. We ordered from the early bird which had a good selection from Γ la Carte menu. The food was excellent and just the right amount. As one of us was driving we ordered a 25cl of Chablis. Some of the wines can be by the glass or carafe and bottle. The 25cl will give you two good glasses of wine with a small top up on the second. I would highly recommend this restaurant for looking for relaxed french cuisine.
Excellent location being next to a picturesque stream. Very good food, ambiance and a friendly staff
Great food and hospitality. Small but diverse food menu with good options, portions were really well balanced so on overall great experience.
Great experience, highly recommend the fillet steak or tomato mussels, high class service and professionalism from the staff; compliments to the chefs, thank you for a great night! π
Great food, great service, great experience
Always a great place, great food, good for group, dont expect fast food when its busy it takes time, but thats how it should be.
Nice contemporary French Restaurant beside the Harbour in Naas. The menu, though small, covered most peoples tastes and the food was well prepared and top quality served by top class staff, including I presume, the French owners. Prices were reasonable with a three course Sunday lunch from β¬29.50, Ill definitely return.
Delicious food, wine and great service. Would highly recommend VDC.
Had a great experience here. Went with my partner who was pregnant, someone came over with a cushion for her back as soon as we were seated. We both ordered most of our meals from the specials board which had great options, mussels, dublin bay prawns, venison, john dory etc. The food was as good as Ive had in a long long time, i mean not leaving a single drop of sauce on the plate good. We loved every mouthful from the baked mussels starter to the delicious chocolate fondant dessert. We were in the Michelin star Greenhouse in Dublin recently for a birthday which we were blown away by, this meal was just as enjoyable. From the service to the food, the atmosphere everything was top notch. It was our first visit but cannot wait to go back, great to have a dining experience like this on our door step!
First impressions werent great. Had to go to the bar and order my first drink as no one came to the table. Then two of the dishes we ordered werent available. When ordering our waitress made no mention of the specials board , we only spotted it on our way out, which was a shame as there were some great sounding dishes on it!Im still giving it 4 stars as the food and wine we did have was very nice.
Lovely place, great food and the owner invited my well behaved dog in and got him some titbits ππ€π
Loved it. Food was fantastic, service was great. There is a great athmosphere. I would highly recommend this place. Expensive but worth every penny
This is an elegant stylish restaurant in the heart of Naas slanted towards french cuisine. The setting is beautiful, the ambience is homely & comforting. The staff are excellent. The food is nice but narrow. I feel that the value is the piece that they have got wrong. 5 friends dined on a friday night, the specials had 2 course for β¬25 which sounded great until you discovered that this included only 3 main courses. We ended up spending $50 per head which I have no complaint about in cost terms but I felt it overpriced the volume. The food was good enough to bring me back but sparingly.
