Ploshchad' Pobedy, 3, Moscow, Russia, 121170, Rublëvo
Set in Victory Park, a huge museum dedicated to Russia's role in WWII, with dioramas & memorabilia.
A great museum dedicated towards the World war 2 as per the Russians. It displays the different aspects, scenarios, situations during the War.They also have a different section dedicated to the weapons, tanks artilleries used during the war.It is highly informative once you spend some time reading the descriptions provided in Russian/English at different places in the Museum! Its is great for everyone interested in the history of World War 2You can easily purchase entry tickets inside the museum.Very well managed as we visited in September 2021.
Amazing place to learn about WW2 from the Russian perspective.
Ive been to Park Pobedi hundreds of times and love it - but today we went into the museum!! Wow!! Very well designed, using modern technology and the huge new experience is well worth the money (though all in very fast Russian!Amazing details! Could have done with time to go round and look at the details after the tour finished!
very good museum dedicated to the victory in WW2
Amazing experience there, you can re-live the World War II and see the Russian and German warcrafts. There is a room in the museum where they stimulated a house that was bombed in the warAlso there is a big hall where you can sit and watch a presentation of the WWIIThe price for entry is goodIf you visit Moscow, you should definitely visit this museum
WoW 😯! The First Museum🏛 Ever, which I visited after long long time and probably I will never forget the visit🔥🔥🔥. The Mood👀 with all these emotions🙀, which you can feel on every step👣 through the ruins🏚 of The World War II. or the authentic feel of the requisites👍🏻... I have been really, really IMPRESSED🙏🏻! And I highly recommend the visit of this place.
If you ever wondered how it was during the WWII, then this is the museum to visit, you wont just get to see what happened but you will feel like you were there too.
If you ever thought you are alone or lost...here you will find yourself
This museum celebrates the USSRs effort in the Great Patriotic War (WWII1941-1945. Conceived in the dying years of the Soviet Union to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the war, it takes a very different approach to storytelling compared to what one might be accustomed to in Western Europe. This is an unabashed celebration of the titanic war effort of the Soviet people during WWII, and there is no effort to conceal its purpose and intentions. The scale is grand, and the lower floor is dedicated to the milestone battles on the eastern front (from Moscow to Stalingrad to Leningrad), depicted via dioramas with sound effects. There are not many artifacts, in line with the purpose of the museum. The upper floor houses a gigantic room with an allegory of the Red Army (make sure to see the 360 degree movie shown at the top of the hourand a diorama depicting the fall of Berlin and the assault on the Reichstag. The contribution to the war effort from other nations are largely not mentioned (except for a lonely bust of De Gaulle). Theres even a timid acknowledgement of Stalins crimes during the Purges. A must see, useful to understand the Russian perspective on war storytelling.
Very disappointing experience. Theres is nothing significant to see (when you expect something extraordinary to be in the capital City)And nearly nothing in English..I wasted my time
Museum and the park are a must see in Moscow, check the opening times for the museum before going.
This place is just magical, loved every minute here. Amazing architecture and iconic landmarks. It is a place that people should visit at least once in a lifetime.I just loved everything about this place.Hope to go back many more times. Here you will find nice places to eat as well.Nice street artists to brighten the place even more.Take your time here, this is one place that you will not enjoy its full beauty if you are in a hurry. So take your time and explore.
Very Russian experience, but some of the exhibits were good
This museum is fantastic. You get a feeling of world war. And i liked the place who you can take photoes with same location as world war. You wear cspecial cloths. I recommend you to do it as a group. It is full of fun, and you make good memories. You can easily get there by public buses.
Fantastic museum worthwhile visiting. Lots of original artifacts and 3D looking scenes with sound effects, including a set of Berlin in wartime that you can walk through. We didn’t get a chance to see the outdoor vehicle museum, but it looked good from what we could see outside.
Must see. Better with the guide. All exhibits have English translation but reading them will take you days.
A spacious garden with fountains and monuements around. The information write up are 95% in Russian, thus losing a star. The audio guide is 320 rubles, but it does not cover everything however I feel it is still worth going for it audio to understand the stories and history behind the pictures.
Authentic items and material and great paintings on the liberation of key cities in Europe including the Leningrad and Stalingrad blockade. However, expect Russian patriotism - they are really proud of their military achievements. Museum areal is very big and it takes several hours to get the full experience. The basic entry ticket is around €5. Accompanying texts are translated into English but some of the authentic material were only in Russian. The museum is open late till the evening. On Saturday it closes at 21:30, therefore you can also plan it for the late afternoon.
Very nice place with good exhibition and much too see. Little text in English in the rooms dedicated to the large battles.
amazing park with many reminders of war. it shows how Russians have beaten Germans in 2nd world war
This museum is over big. I visited here many times. I excite to come here as first time.
English:If you visit Moscow you can not leave without visiting this site! I recommend visiting the museums. There are several types of tickets and I recommend buying the mixed ticket (ENTRANCE TO THE MAIN BUILDING AND OPEN AREAS OF THE MUSEUM). At the back of the park you will also find the area of the open-air museum where you will find war machines that were used in the war. It is an experience that you can not miss! The National Museum of History of the Great Patriotic War in Russia (corresponding, in the Eastern Slavic tradition to the Second World War 1941-1945is a memorial commemorating the sacrifices of the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Second World War. It is located on Mount Poklonnaya, one of the highest points of Moscow. The first monument placed on the site was a granite stone monument, in 1958, and the park was inaugurated in the early 1960s. The construction of the museum itself did not begin until after 1985, and the first exhibition was inaugurated eight years later. The total opening took place on May 9, 1995, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Victory Day of the Allied forces of the Second World War on the German forces. The obelisk in front of the museum is 141.8 meters high, which represents the 1,418 days of the war. A bronze figure of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, is mounted at a height of 100 meters, and a statue of St. George killing a dragon is at the base.
Best museum of the second war that I’ve been, there are some parts that are only in Russian, so it’ll be a good idea to pay extra for the guided tour, you’re not going to regret, and at the end go to the third floor to see the domo, amazing. You can go outside, but for me was not what I was expecting, so do not waste your time out, do the inside only, believe me.
English speakers basically need to get the audio guide since everything inside is written in Russian onlyShowing a horrific and gruel war in such a way tastes a little bit like soviet propaganda to me. But still the museum is impressive and interesting.
One of the best , of maybe the better museum about WW2 ( Victory Museum ). You need 3 hours to enjoy it ! Make your arrangements to visit it and learn about XX century history
95% is in Russian language but what an impressive museum and so well worth visiting.
Amazing historical Museum..we really enjoyed our time exploring all of the historical events since world war 2
Well worth your time to visit when in Moscow. Very little is in English, so bring your Google translator. But most artifacts & pictures need no translation - they speak for themselves from the archives of world history.
Its not extremely apparent if you visit on your own but there is a stunningly beautiful 3d mapping display in the main hall every hour between 9 to 5. Its a must see, cant recommend it enough. Make sure to check out the park behind the museum as well.
One of the best museums I have ever been...beautiful art work explains the horrifying war visuals which was fought in heart of Moscow city....simply amazing.
The best museum I have ever been!!!!! And Ive been to lots of them!!!
One of the best museums in Moscow!! This is definitely worth a trip to see. It is a beautiful and informative museum. Plan on spending a whole afternoon or more here as there are 4 floors FILLED with memorabilia, dioramas and displays. There is also a theater. When you are in this museum it feels like you are in a different world, it truly takes you to a different mindset where you develop a greater appreciation for the War and all those who died. There is also a beautiful outside area. I still think back to this museum often as one of my favorite places I have been! This museum is also completely wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets!
London was awesome this is the best. The best museum I have ever visited and it has a lot of staff about WW2. Its not about all the way to the victory of the red army. It also has a number of tremendous items staff German American and of course Soviet. It recreates in a room perfectly the Reich stag as it was when it fell. It has a lot of souvenirs that the Germans left to the Soviet when they lost the war. And the think that I will not forget was the exhibition is the memorial room which is worthy watching it.
Very emotional museum, recomend it very much. There is a war machnes museum nearby, but go there if you really in to that.
The museum is really good. It represent very good russian history and has a lot of ancient weapone and machines from the soviet era. It is a huge museum and you can see a lot of stuff in there, also you can find some good souveniers.
I’m not usually visit these types of museums but this one was one of a kind. The best and most emotional war museum ever been. The atmosphere and the dioramas are fantastic and the information given are very good. Worth a visit and a walk in the outskirts of the museum.
It is shocking for sure. Its a great representation of the second works ward, I felt touched
The most impressive WW2 museum i have been to without a doubt. Its huge, and there are a number of great dioramas, interactive exhibitions and a 3D movie shown inside a huge domed room. The best parts are inside the museum, but the outdoor exhibitions are also definitely worth a visit, especially if you are interested in WW2 vehicles.
An amazing view of the world view. A must visit place in Moscow.
By far my best experience in Moscow. A place to honour the heroes and learn the history.
The best WWII museums I have ever seen, you can go outside and see all the weponery and machines during the world War 2 and inside is the all important facts about war and fighting soviets against Germans and Japanese. It is breathing and making you to think of the past and what happened. Must visit it is not expensive only 400rub for inside and outside. Take your time, enjoy and educate yourself
Amazing museum, a must see for everyone visiting Moscow !
Spectacular!! Interactive museum. Many things to see. Very good war scene demonstrations. Outside area in an amazing park with war tanks, airplanes, helicopters, bunkers and ships. You can spend a whole day in the museum and in the park with war monumets and statues. You can rent bikes and buggies etc. Nice view from top. During dark fountains are amazing in the red lights :)
Im a USA veteran. This is the best and most interactive Memorial Museum I had ever seen. Its a most if you are in Moscow.
Marvelous museum. The upper floors hold magnificent exhibitions. I recommend on entering the main hall on the second floor. There is a special show there which is a MUST SEE.
the square is huge and beautiful... we didnt got inside because of holidays but it was a great experience for the family.
Great Museum. Muzey Popedy was really interesting to see all the details about the second world war. Also the model of a battle flield in berlin is great prepared. Outside there is an open air exhibition of tanks and airplanes, including some very rare models of tanks. I can recommend this museum to everybody.
I had no idea what the Russian people went through till I visited here

Russians are really proud about their war history. And this museum is one of its evidence reserve at least 3-4 hours for quick tour.
