After a long walk in garden, you will appreciate any place to sit..right 🤣🤣Well, this cafe dont have enough space to sit. N They have a big space for selling items. They sell honey, t-shirts , jackets, leather bags, plants etc. Cost of all the items is really high. They have most of the bakery items out by early evening.

The sandwich Turkey and cranberry dreadful, napkin and water cup dispenser tables uncleaned and as The Orangery is closed this cafe right at the entrance needs upgrading in its standards as at the moment it’s not a good visit and there’s no choice so Kew Gardens get your act together!

Obviously Kew Botanic Gardens has several lovely cafes, but this one is the most accessible, at the entrance and shop. Spacious outdoor seating under the trees 💚

Cool carnivorous plant. But the guy at the checkout counter almost destroyed it. Dragged the whole plant over the counter, spilled the acid out of all the pitchers. For £35 I would hope they’d at least not kill the plant… he didn’t even care when we asked him to stop hurting the plant. Bet I’ll be back for a refund and replacement if it dies.

We used the cafe for a lunchtime snack, quite expensive as youd probably expect, but nice food in a unique location.

Awful, £8 for a panini. Which they forgot I said to go so the staff literally shoved it in a paper bag and and threw the salad in.! Shocking!

Figure out your line/queue management. We ended up standing in a line to fill water bottles which is by the cashier line with no adequate signage.Maybe hire people that are interested in ringing up your guests as well. The teenager that we got was more interested in carrying on a conversation with her coworker that serving the line. This

Terrible welcome. The waiter didnt want us to sit too far from the kitchen: inside or on an unpleasant table, pretending the five other empty 3 persons tables were booked while it was 1 PM. Of course nobody came.

Ordered two mochas and two sandwich melts for around £22 The melts were pathetically bare for £6 each, but otherwise somewhat tasty. The mochas were horrendous. Drinking the first half tasted like a regular latte with a bit of sugar, and the second half, where the coffee started to condense, tasted off and watery. The coffee shot wasnt properly prepared and tasted minutely sour. No sign of any chocolate as well. Considering the high prices, a silky creamy mocha should be expected. Expect canned drinks to be at least £2.50 each. Recommend bringing own food. Cant say for other restaurants/cafés in Kew Gardens.

Its always a tad over the top on prices, but then it is Kew near Richmond in London, so you have to expect higher prices I guess...Its always lovely to explore the Gardens in Kew.. The family love to meet up & enjoy an afternoon here... Thanks for your hard ⚒ work keeping the gardens wonderful 🙏

The ‘filter’ would appear to actually be instant and was frankly vile and the charge for a cup is just unreasonable. The tables were dirty and staff far form friendly or competent. I would strongly recommend avoiding if at all possible.

Kew Gardens, lovely place but extortionate prices in the cafes. £2.75 for a one size medium paper cup of tea and £5.50 for a small vegan "sausage" roll. It had the pastry folded over to the side without any filling in that half. Will take my own food and sit on a bench next time.

Awful service. Had to wait 15mins for a sausage roll. Eventually I received something that looked like one but tasted awful. Definitely not fresh and pastry was rock hard. £6.50 for what you see in the photo. You used to get a side salad with it. I live across the street and come here quite a lot for breakfast but I will not be buying anymore food or coffee here.

This cafe does get busy and struggle at times to sit inside but plenty of seating outside. A range of tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches and bakery. Its a little confusing when you go in what to do and where to go as no clear directional signage. All items I feel were over priced, even though you expect to pay more due to location. It really is a captive audience and this is reflected in price. Soft drinks almost £3 a can. 3 soft drinks, 1 tea and 4 scones came to £30!! You also have no choice but to have a takeaway cup whether you sit in or takeawsy and you incure a 15p per cup charge. They must be making a fortune is all I can say. Tables and floor also very dirty and there were no sanitising stations to clean our own tables and staff were not doing them either

Can be slow serving at busy times, seating inside and outside. For anyone on a budget still better to buy food at supermarket such as the Tesco by Kew Gardens Station and bring it in for your visit. The cafe has a good selection of sandwiches and other food but all the catering inside the Gardens is quite expensive in my view.

Over crowded, over priced food and drink. They have a wall display showing Ethiopian coffee beans and bags on display. I asked to buy a bag and was told the cafe does not sell then but the gift shop does. I asked the gift shop staff and was told they do not stock coffee beans. They do sell beer flour and 25 varieties of honey though. Very poor for RBGK and not up to their usual standard.

Horrible and rude staff in the kiosk next to Victoria Plaza Cafe. The lady behind the counter pretends that your card have been declined and charges again. I caught her red handed and aske d for receipt, she could not provide it. She was insulting me, spilt my coffee, refused to issue a refund. The manager was not helpful either. He said I should be happy I have got my coffees (for double price!Be aware of these scams!

Staff rude and aggressive. Asked if we were eating in, we told staff we would takeaway but when we saw all tables were empty we chose to sit down. Several separate members of staff came over to thrust table numbers and track and trace forms in our face whilst we were eating. Aggressively explaining ‘if someone else wants the table you have to get out’. Then returned to snatch forms back from us. Spent much of our time being watched from the till.We had already completed venue check in, we’re socially distanced and sanitised. Appreciate the new normal requires some adjustment from both staff and customers but the rudeness was really not appreciated and the rules were not well explained when we entered. Also coffee burnt.

An absolutely beautiful venue. Tranquil, clean, yummy food and has a modern botanical art gallery right next door. Perfect for family gatherings and i noted the staff are very helpful. If you are new to gardening you will find the bookshop inside the café very useful. I look forward to visiting again soon.

You can get a hot drink which is welcome when its a cold day. There was no reduction for using our own cups which I thought there might have been. The food is too expensive for us to buy and doubt much is actually plant based. Good to see they have soya milk though .

Im not rating based on food but on the harsh attitude my partner and I encountered last Saturday, the hottest day of the year so far. We were turned away with the news that the Victoria restaurant was fully booked. Fair enough in normal circumstances but actually there were a number of vacant tables so we asked if we could occupy one for a short time as I have mobility issues and was exhausted from the heat and from walking. We daid we would order a drink but leave immediately the table was needed. But it seemed this small compromise wasnt to be granted. We were shunted out very swiftly. Were both mid 70s so the extra walk to the next cafe was quite an ordeal. It didnt seem much to ask for a short respite considering the extreme circumstances.

They were serving tepid soup as a hot lunch option when we visited on a rainy day. Surprisingly, they have no microwave. The cashier very kindly offered a free hot refill, but it turned out that hot water was added to the tureen and basically it was hot yellow coloured water! I did send an email to Kew Gardens but it’s been over eight weeks and I have not had a reply. So my suggestion is do visit Kew, it’s amazing, but perhaps use the cafés near the Kew Station?!Also, I was disappointed to see the amount of plastic used at the café- not in keeping with the ethos of the place.

Too expensive, cakes and snacks are twice what would be a fair price, all outlets at Kew are too expensive. Next time I visit I will take something like a Tesco meal deal, triple pack of sandwiches, packet of crisps or similar and a fruit juice, smoothie or similar drink all for £3. Just one small slice of cake here is £4.55, rip off, and they have now removed the free water dispensers following rearrangement of this cafe.

Extremely over priced for very low quality refreshments. Paid for two drinks at outside kiosk on Thursday 30th May. Staff informed me that it was pay by card only. The member of staff told me the cost of my two drinks - TOOK MY CARD OUT OF MY HAND and tapped on the machine without even showing me the figure he was charging me. I felt extremely uncomfortable and asked for a receipt. He then proceeded to tell me that the machine did not provide receipts. No reason whatsoever for staff to tap cards on a machine themselves. Ask yourself why they did this!!!!!!! Poor training.
