Guided tours of the world-famous champagne house's chalk cellars, plus tasting sessions & gift shop.
I recently recorded a podcast episode about the Veuve Clicquot so I was extremely excited to visit. Our tour was very special and our tour guide whose English was great was so nice! Seeing the chalk cellars in person was a great treat and I learned some new information, too.Enjoyed a glass of champagne at the end of the tour and checked out the shop. They have an airstream outside where you can buy champagne and sit down and drink. Very lovely all around. There is free parking, which I have learned to appreciate in France!
Interesting tour and story, use of ipads a little cumbersome. Great wine and you can enjoy a tasting without tour in the sunshine out the front.
Wonderful tour! Exceptional team of people at Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin.
Brilliant one and a half hour tour of the cellars. Guide Sabino was very good and it was fascinating to hear about the history and process of making the champagne.
Good tour. Very cool location. Tasting was nice as-well. Nothing super special about the tour but definitely worth doing.
Only visited the visitors centre. Need to book in advance for tours and tastings. Able to buy the champagne and glasses at the outside bar.
Absolutely loved doing the full tour, highly recommend, the tour was very informative about the process and the history of the region and Veuve Clicquot and what they stand for.
Well worth a visit. A unique wine cellar indeed.
Very entertaining guide with a great sense of humor, neon lights everywhere and tablets instead of maps. Great champagne blind tasting at the end. To be honest, I likes their champagne more than I did at a different place where weve been the same day. It is pretty cold there so male sure to grab a jacket and some shoes with a thick sole otherwise youd be thinking only on when this dang excursion ends.
Wonderful experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. So much more to the history than I thought, and a lovely glass of champagne to finish it off. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic!. Incredible tour and great tasting experience: more than a "guzzle and go.". Incredible caves.
Great tour! Learnt a lot. Enjoyed the cocktail drinks! The area to drink was nicely decorated and felt very relaxed atmosphere. Shop had loads to buy compared to their competitors.
A MUST DO!!! Ill do it again on my next visit, the staff was really nice and accommodating especially since I arrived late! The patio area outside for drinks is cool as moet doesnt have anything like it... The kitchen was down which would have made it better but we still had a great time👍🏾👍🏾
My sister and I celebrated our birthday here and so pleased we did. The tour was very informative and highly recommend. The staff very friendly and helpful they went over and above by getting more chairs for us to relax on.
I’m a great fan of Veuve Clicquot, so I can only recommend for you to go here. I also liked their boutique. They had nice merch, such as bottles, umbrellas, glasses, trays, clothing pieces, etc. There’s also a bar outside.
Bought 8-9 bottles of champagne but they couldn’t issue a tax refund form as they didn’t know how to. Called up customer relations and they hung up as they also did not understand what tax refund was.
The tour was really amazing, you should book one with the blind testing.
The House and Cellars were amazing. 30 min tour was perfect for us as a non-French speaking couple. Didn’t understand much but the tour guide was open to questions. The best bit was obviously the tasting plus the Cheeses. Also tried the 2012 Vintage - needless to say, this left us in a very merry mood. Wish there was more of the house to explore but the Terrace was nice enough.
Cant recommend tour. Actually not the working caves of the champagne house. This Disney-like tour is simply fake, just a bunch of tablets, videos and information, with no chance to see the real operation. I dont recommend it.
First class champagne tour. The chalk caves are spectacular. As is the champagne mobile trailer. A great tour worth the money.
An amazing and informative tour...I loved it
We had a wonderful experience at Maison VCP! We arrived about an hour before our tour and enjoyed a glass of their Rose Rich cocktail as recommended by the staff. The ladies serving in the outdoor bar were so friendly and welcoming. They even set us up with lawn chairs to enjoy our drinks as the main seating was full! We then had the English tour with Gonzalo who was very knowledgeable and welcomed any of our questions. The tour is well planned and the interactive iPads complement the tour nicely. The blind tasting was a lot of fun. We finished off our visit with another glass of Champagne, this time the demi-sec. If you need transport to the train station, make sure you order it with plenty of notice! The taxis had not responded all day (as per the lovely staff member inside who had been trying to reach them all dayand Uber took a while to confirm a ride.
We have seen a few other Champagne caves, the Veuve Clicquot tour, however, was the best so far. No need to comment on the quality of the Champagne anyway, it is one of the best.
Great tour, focused on the history of the brand with a brief description of the winemaking process. Having the bar at the end of the tour is great to taste and compare the different champagnes they produce.
You can go on a tour, taste the champagne by glass or visit the shop!
We had the vintage champagne tour in English. We must commend the the tour guide (Meghanwas excellent. She took us through the entire history of the vineyard and was very personable, funny and easy to follow. Plus the boutique had fair prices for the champagne. And of course the champagne was delicious.Would recommend.
Absolutely great champagne experience, a lot of history to learn, excellent degustations, very nice personnel.
Unfortunately, the visit was not the best experience I had in Reims. The group we went with was pretty large and the visit felt sped up, you could definitely feel the effect of marketing during the visit, everything felt a bit like a factory line. I do appreciate Veuve Cliquot but am disapointed in the tour. I did add one star from the 3 I was originally planning because the guide was FANTASTIC and really funny (I do not remember his name unfortunately but he was Italian! The tour did have some great and interesting information though.
Interesting tour, the chalk caverns were an experience. The guide to manufacture, history or of course tasting were well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend if you are interested in champagne. Go for the double tasting tour, the vintage is so nice. Hope you enjoy your day
Having come to Reims for a short break, I was excited at the thought of visiting the house of my favourite champagne. Upon checking with Google, we were informed that it was open to visitors. After the three mile trek from our hotel my dreams were soon quashed by the over glamorous receptionist who informed us that all the tours were booked for today and the visitors centre was closed, we were however free to browse the shop. The place looked empty, desolate in fact. The shop was ok, hideously over priced though. I’ll save up my club card points and grab a bargain when it’s on offer in the UK, with much less pomp. After all as I have been wisely reminded by the love of my life ‘it is only fizzy wine after all’.
Great tour of champagne maker. Very interesting! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. At the end we got some champagne tasting while still in the cellars.
I have read the positive and negative reviews. We visited today and can say this has been a highlight of our trip. Maybe the issue revolves around the choice of the tour/visit. We chose a visit that included the underground tour and 2 glasses (including their vintage - no food). The tour was very informative and interactive. The guide was fantastic. And tasting was down in the caves / crayères with a lot of Q&A. Well done.
Certainly one of the more interesting champagne houses with a great cellar and fantastic champagnes. Unfortunately the tasting itself was not very impressive. They just offer you the drinks and leave. I’d have expected a little more.
What a great day in Reims! Couldnt recommend enough. Quick tour of vueve and learning some history on Champagne followed by a couple vintage glasses and gift shop. I recommend a day trip to Reims and checking it out. Quick train from Paris.
We just walked in a little bit after 12:30. Asked at the reception to join a guided tour. We waited 35min for the next available one. Tours are either in English and French. We could wait inside in their lounge area until the tour started. Lounge has AC which was great since it was 29°C outside. The group were small, max 7 people, which made it easy and private. We had the cellar tour + rich tasting. Would definitely recommend that if its your first time, the non-vintage champagne is always easy to test else where, if you aint looking for the premium tasting (we didnt ask what different tours or tasting they had just to join the next one available).Guide was thurow and explain everything nice, clearly and also answered any questions. We payed 35euro each and that included the tour + 2 glasses of rich champagne. They have a shop there as well where you can buy bottles of all the different ranges of champagne, vintage, yellow label, magnum sizes, boxes and other branded items like coolers and so on.
My wife and I did the "footsteps of Madame Clicquot" tour and it was amazing! The cellar was gorgeous and the tour guide was knowledgable and friendly. The visitors center is extremely nice and the champagne is off the charts good!
Lovely champagne and a gorgeous spot to have a glass on their patio. We didn’t do the tour but had a couple of glasses of different types of champagne and enjoyed the sunshine.
Didnt do the tour, came for the boutique shop. Took plenty of pictures, staff very friendly and informative. Brought a glass for €10 and a few items. All reasonably priced. Umbrella at €25 was very good. Had a wander around the different rooms, all elegant and fun.
Had a lovely time here. My mom’s heart is forever warm after visiting here. Staff very friendly & knowledgeable. The wine cellar so cool. Only did two tastings but they were heavenly. The history about this place is incredible. An experience like no other. 🥂👏
Lovely place had a great tour. Tasted some lovely Champagne.
Nice your where u can enjoy few glasses of champagne. The tour focus on the history of veuve cliquot Champaign and they take u inside the caves, It’s worth trying the vintage champagnes. Lovely staff. This is not a vineyard but a champagne house.
Enjoyed the English tour, great tour guide. Fun to hear the history and you end the tour with champagne! We enjoyed a vintage 2006 and a yellow label. You don’t see the industrial production, but you really enjoy the walk through the caves.
Great walking tour. Learned a lot anot the champagne making process and got to taste some pretty amazing champagne. All in a days work...lol
Very interesting visit to lean history, champagne making process, and to see chalk caves - I recommend
Excellent tour guide. If you are in Reims and want to learn about the history and the production of champagne this is a must visit!!!
Excellent informative tour & tasting!
In A Nutshell:-If you enjoy Veuve Clicquot champagne, you need to take a trip to beautiful champagne country to their HQ.-Everything from their color scheme, to their vast properties (private/public), the professionals who work for the company & of course the bubbly are - 100% SUPERB.-My wife and I had fun trying to find the tasting room, which we first ended up at one of their private properties about 20 minutes away from the tasting room.-Once we finally found it, we enjoyed the clean layout & the tastings.-Its pretty cool to visit champagne country, especially since I live close to Napa Valley & visiting other wine countries in Australia and New Zealand.Overall, Veuve Clicquot was already my favorite champagne, but now I have a great memory, which will result in a customer for life!
An enjoyable tour. It takes about half a day, by the time you go through and enjoy a few glasses of champagne. This one is unique as it has the chalk mines and they focus on the history with the tour going through the caves, but they have integrated a lot of modern aspects in the digital presentation and the building. It’s worth trying the vintage champagnes. Lovely staff. This is not a vineyard but a champagne house.
If you are even remotely into champagne, this is not to miss. Really excellent story and the caves are spectacular!
Seeing the caves is very cool and impressive. They could make it really amazing if they would expand the tasting (varietyand spend some more time on the aspects of the flavours - I still dont know much. The tour is simple - nice and interesting, but altogether 50€ is a bit too much for just this. Expand the experience or give a full bottle and it would be a 5*. It echoes the image of VCP as being more a marketing company than a champagne maker.---It shouldnt be that hard to make these tours truly amazing. Put in more"experience": tastings in the underground cellars, ask the audience for help opening the bottles, add more variety on the tastings, have a "goodie" (small bottle, a glass, anything!)
