2150 Jackson Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, United States, Ann Arbor
Public recreation park with an outdoor swimming pool, indoor ice rink, ball fields & tennis courts.
When I played fast pitch softball I played there
We come here often and generally enjoy it. However, my daughter was refused use of the slide today, even though she is VERY much tall enough. I mean, even the doctor says so. I politely asked the manager to remeasure (as directed by the employeeand she, clearly annoyed, dismissed my 5 year old daughter and said she backed her employee. My daughter has ridden the slide MANY times this summer already and she is so sad and heartbroken. Also, their hours are bad, they don’t open until 1
So nice im going to go back 😊😊😊
I love going vets parks, and so do the children
Best pool around for the price!
Absolutely preposterous that they charge parents to take their kids, whether they swim or not.
Nice clean pool. Life guards are on top of things.I would love if the adults could have 20min in the pool on the hour.
Clean nice pool area for the family. We loved it!

Nice place I swim there and play baseball
This park has walking area around the super cool skate park area along with baseball diamonds and in the winter they sled down the hills. It was open during lockdown and folks stayed 6ft away and some wore masks. Everyone kept to themselves but smiled. Dog loves it. Love this park.
I may be a bit biased but I love this place! In the winter they have ice skating and hockey, and in the summer they have their pool open! I have so many great memories there and if you havent been, you should go too!
Great place to spend some time ice skating with my granddaughter.
I wish there were more open skate sessions to diffuse traffic. Its busier in January. Or separate family open skates from adults open skates.Facility and staff are amazing. I wish this Ice Arena is open year round.I always have a good time there and love the music selection during open/public skating.
Great time celebrating my husbands birthday. Thanks for the great ice and cheerful music!
Overall the ice itself was pretty good, the zamboni drivers just cant drive worth a lick. It was a taken care of and clean facility, the ref room was so small it was borderline comical (2 guys can fit literally on top of each other). Its a city owned and operated rink, so the place leaves a lot to he desired as far as what they offer, their programs, teams housed, etc.
Lights at night for tennis are a big plus. The Nets could use a little mending however. Overall a great location.
Big pool! beach entry for littles, water slide, deep end. Not a lot of chairs, be prepared to spread out your towel on the grass. Also not a lot of shade, so be prepared.
A nice place to spend hot summer days. Pool gets pretty full in summer most days . Pool has different depths with markings that makes it safe for different age groups. It even has a water slide . Masks are required indoors / to enter. The pool is quite clean and well maintained considering the crowd it draws. They also have an ice arena, outside snow sledging area ( at your own risk, a skating ring and play area for kids.
Cute pool. Zero entry for the little ones.. Slide and deep end for older kids.. 12 and up can go in the really deep pool, if they can swim of course. They have done a nice job during covid times with only allowing so many people in during a set time ( 2 hr time alot). They will be closing Aug 29, 2021 for the season
The park is full of trash. We used to love going there, now its so dirty that I dont want my kids to play at the playground.
Very good ice cream at an extremely low price kids will definitely love this one and its pretty clean with three tables and a few benches simply amazing and really cheap with high quality ice cream.
My family and I love going to Veterans Pool during the summer. They have the best toddler section of all of the public outdoor pools in Ann Arbor. Theyve done a really good job during covid to limit capacity and make everyone feel safe and still have an enjoyable time. Love this pool!
They need music that is either turned off, or not so loud and grating. At the end of the day, a swim at the pool and some peace and quiet are GOLDEN.
Great place to meet up with friends. Play softball, skate in the outdoor skate park, hockey on the inside rink with access to all. Parking lots and shelters are gavailable for family and team gatherings. Also, a lot of excellent restaurants around to provide delicious food for a needed picnic.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. My 3 year old daughter loves the ice skating classes.
So nice to have Open Skate as an option again after the pandemic closure! You have to reserve a ticket for a one-hour session on the city website and this involves creating an account and adding each person in your party to your account, including birth dates. You also need to digitally sign forms on the website before paying for the tickets. Once you arrive at the rink, just let the staff know the name that the reservation is under. You can also reserve skate rentals online and they will be labeled and ready when you arrive. The staff was very friendly and good at cleaning.
Seems like an ice arena called Veterans Ice would make some accommodation and accessibility for any disabled Veteran to come and sit with their family or for that matter anyone with a wheelchair. As a guest recently a local parent asked how I was able to get my relative in a wheelchair up onto the area where they could see his peers play hockey, when I responded that we brought him up the handicap accessible stairs 😉they could see the obstacles we faced and likely many others have before our visit. We had a few people lift the person in the wheelchair and carry them up the stairs which put our lived one in the walkway of many. Sure wishing the public facility had Handicap accessibility in the hockey/ice arena seating area. Entry was accessible, plus a few handicap parking spaces then you enter the ice arena and unless you stand next to the team bench * you are out of luck to view an event. (*which doesn’t allow a wheelchair user to see the players on the ice or what is actually going on during a gameVeterans and all people should have better options at public places.
Best birthday party at Veterans Memorial Park ever! The kids loved skating, and sharing special things such as crafts, snacks, and birthday cake in the designated party room! Thanks to one and all!
Clean, spacious, and public restroom... couldnt ask for more
This is an older ice arena and pool so dont expect all the amenities you would find at a 21st century establishment. That being said this place is fantastic, the pool is accommodating for all skill levels and ages, there is a kiddie pool, swim lanes, deep end, and very nice water slide. There is no diving board.Inside the building there is an ice rink that is used for hockey leagues and open skating in the fall and winter months. They facility has a snack stand inside as well as a couple vending machines, they also sell some ice skating accessories and offer skate sharpening. My daughter swims on the summer swim team that they have and the coaches, just, and families are all fantastic. This place is a wonderful resource to have in our city.
Ann Arbor has small & older local pools but they are fun for families. We can always find space to sit & relax when the kids are in the water. We try to make the best of the adult only swim when the kids have to vacate. More seating inside would be nice for us to sit and eat snacks.
Great place for families and adults. Ice rink, swimming pools. Vending machines, can get busier during peak hours. Convenient location and a large hill for snow sledding, baseball fields, skate park. Grilling/pavilion area. Near 94
The ice was great, and the lobby was warm. They also gave us a room for a party and we had a blast :No hassle, just lots of fun
All I can say is we had a really good time we had a good seating area to have a picnic and be in the shade probably would have stayed longer but that day it did start raining really hard which was kind of nice because it was the way to end the day without having the kids get upset but yeah I would definitely take my family there again it was fun
Summer 2018, I spent time playing with David Cardenas and his team the Huston Astros. I closed out several games and started a handful to warm my arm up for the coming Winter Season. As for my season stats, I averaged 2+ Strikeouts Per Inning, over 1 Shattered Bat per 7 Innings and wins on every single game I started. Velocity really started to peak mid to late July with Fastball reaching 95+mph and solid tailing action on the Sinker. Currently in negotiation to play in a Winter Professional League. Pitches commanded include the 4-seam, 2-seam also referred to as a Sinker, Circle Change, Splitfinger Fastball, Slider, and curveball.2018 Personal StatsHeight: 6"4 3/4Body Mass 206lbs Body fat (%Apprx. 6-8%Lean body mass (lbs194lbsVertical jump (inches37"Vertical jump peak power (w11,010.27Vertical jump mean power (w4,334.16Grip strength (lbs250 - 26510-yard sprint (s)Pro-agility (s)2018Peak Power: 11,010.27 wattsPower Avg: 4,334.16 wattsPeak Velocity: 95+mph
This is our local pool and I love it. Water slide is super fun for grown ups and kids alike. New pool liner is a huge improvement. I wish the vending machines were restocked more frequently -- my kids have been sad about lack of ice cream choices quite a few times. Concession stand has never been open in the times Ive been there.
Kids had fun here on the small water slide and playing in the pool. They didnt like the 10 minutes of adult only swim about once an hour though. But it did give them a small break.
Pool looks awesome!!! Defender clean water with Accu-tab keeping it safe!!
Something different on a Friday night? Checkout MACRHL! Good womens hockey! Excellent laid back competition! Lots of good people offering "Nice shot!" to theiropponent and friend.
Good pool, especially for kids. Deep end a little small. Water slide keeps my kids coming back every (summertrip to town. Helpful staff. Wish they had towels.
We always enjoy this community pool. Most recently, we had my daughters birthday party there. They allow food on the grass next to the pool. We gathered three picnic tables around a blanket in the shade under the trees and had two coolers for cold drinks and snacks. They put the ice cream in the freezer and kept the cupcakes cool and safe for us in the front office until we were ready to serve. They let us hang a piñata from one of the trees. The kids enjoyed the zero-entry tots splash pool and the deeper pool and slide, and the adults either joined the kids at the pool or hung out in the shade. The staff were all really nice. They kept track of our guests so we could pay for everyone at the end according to who actually came. It was so easy and relaxed. I cannot recommend it enough. :)
Not the largest pool in Ann Arbor, but less crowded. Highlights include a great kids pool with waterfalls that is perfect for toddlers, a nice water slide for older kids, and shaded areas to sit. There are only a few lap lanes, but they are rarely too crowded. Overall, a great choice for swimming with kids, but less to offer for adults interested in swimming laps.
Great summer fun at the pool! Great winter fun at the ice rink! We come here all the time for the playground down the hill, tennis, softball games, and skate park (can ride scooters).
Decent park. Four baseball fields, a skate park, pool with water slide, shelters, parking lot, lot of port a potty. The shelter and the little playground are in bad shape. Lot of garbage everywhere but functional.
The pool is pretty nice here, with a water slide, decent sized kiddie pool, and ample space for swimming laps. The tennis courts have been recently redone, which is great. That being said,The rest of the park appears somewhat neglected, though it seems to be making a comeback with the addition of the skatepark. Its not exactly picnic friendly, as the one shelter area appears to be boarded up and no longer used. The park is functional in ways but is not aesthetically pleasing and not somewhere Id recommend going for a nature walk.
When we went ice-skating here the staff was quick and courteous getting a pair of rental skates and some time on the ice. The ice rink itself was well maintained and the facilities were clean as a whistle. Theres even a snack bar that has popcorn!
I went to swim laps. All the lap lanes were full.So I went to swim short laps to warm up in the deep end.I was immediately told that I cannot swim there.Apparently, they are too short-staffed to watch expert swimmers in the lap lanes and the deep end at the same time.I asked for my money back and was refused.Four dollars wasted.
Very nice rink. My children took several skating lessons here. It is definitely cheaper than the Cube and the quality of teaching is good for both adults and children. Good place to learn to skate for beginners to intermediate. Best thing I liked about this place was separate adult skating times for open skates. However, adult and kids lessons are also at different times which can be a little inconvenient to parents who are planning to spend same time on the rink. One thing I didnt like was I noticed some instructors were teaching private lessons for extra money during public skating times. They would occupy the center of the rink and yell at anyone (any agewho would skate too close to them or bump into them by mistake. I didnt like that management at Vets allowed such intrusion at public skating. I dont know if they still allow that. Other than that. it is fine place to skate with your friends and family.
My kids have been taking ice skating lessons at Vets for 5 years, and we really like the instructors! If you are looking for a low pressure, kid-friendly, recreational approach to teaching your kid ice skating I highly recommend it!
