Veterani Cave - Tourist attraction in Smederevo, Serbia
Absolutely beautiful!!
quite nice piece of history in an excellent Danube trip
Wonderful experience! Tell to the captain to stop you to visit the cave! It has an unique story...no reason to be eorried..its a safe place and the guides are very friendly. 10 RON ticket
The guide was very informative and pleasant.
I recommend visiting if you are on the way
Ok👍🤩
Cool place! Full of history, pretty well preserved, nice guide who showed us some interesting facts. Pretty swift presentation although…
Very beautiful story about Romanian history
Fantastic!
Nice location, a very nice guide with a nice story!
Some lights and a little more organisation would have been nice. The guide was great, though.
Must see
Expect for a single chaimber grotto that shouldnt take under 10 min to visit.Wide and with a tall ceiling, it has a few purpose built areas. The man made window is the highlight attraction and sits up near the ceiling. The grotto boasts with great stories collected from the past 2 millennia.Optimal visiting time is early in the morning between 8⁰⁰ and10⁰⁰.
This cave can be reached on the other side of the mountain on foot. A real experience that should not be missing from the laggage of memories... 🤩👌🤟
Nice place @ good presentation
Reachable as part of boat tours taken from Cazane / chipul lui Decebal area. Cheap access and interesting info, the guide is good.
Awesome places to see. I truly recommend it
Beautiful small cave that hides an impresive story about a general. The guide explains the story of the cave and gently takes us back to history, he shows us the details and secrets of the cave. We are free to take pictures and enjoy the cave, if you can, go there at 8am and witness how lights travel straight in the cave.
Interesting cave! If you like caves, visit!

Great site. Entrance fee was 6 lei which included a giude who shared some interesting facts. Its worth visiting, it takes 10-15 minutes.
Interesting. It should be more arranged.
A very little cave, you can enter in it only from Danube. A very interesting natural lightning. Is worthy, but the price 6 lei is to much.
Awesome history! The first cave to be mapped in the whole world. You dont need more than 10-12 minutes to visit it, but you can see something worth seeing in this place. Also you can hear the history of this cave from the guide that is there. The entry fee is 6 lei, which is not a lot, around 1.5€. For kids is free. I totally recommend this place if you are in the area.
Lovely piece of history
Big surprise in the middle of the “Cazane” area.I’ve never heard before about this location, and his presence here was quite interesting. There are also a few legends about this place, probably not all exactly true, but for sure it makes a lot of sense to visit this place. The only way to rich the cave entrance is using a boat!
Misterios, well guided, unique
Not a big cave but interesting due to its location and the way to get there. Best tours from the park rangers.
Lot of history on this place. Very affordable tour on boat.
Nice cave! We enjoyed it.
A small cave. You can reach by a boat from Danube river
Something different
Nice history lesson. Good guide.
An impressive cave on the Danube. Theres an English speaking guide with interesting information and stories for a small fee. We got to the cave as part of a boat tour from Orsova, but perhaps there are other ways to get there. While I wouldnt say its a must if you are in the area, its definitely worth a stop if youre on a boat trip like the one we did.
Touching. The boat trip - awesome.
Beautiful cave, short tour, but beautiful.
Small cave full with history. Worth checking out.
Eerie and historical place (with Dacian relics!!), in a very privileged& gorgeous natural location, reachable only by boat. The tour guides (a man and a womanwho walk tourists around the cave are very knowledgeable and passionate, I was really impressed with both of them.
Ok for a short visit, but the guide was in a hurry as the boat that got us there was waiting outside.
It`a a interesting cave to visit full of impressive historical facts. You can also see some bats inside. Inside the cave there is a natural window ( photo attached)
Interesting history about this place.
Its a cave of a prehistoric stories , very creepy actually but once you get used with moist air , darkness and sounds of small bats .. you will still feel creepy 😃😄
Cool,
Wonderful, impresive story!
There are a lot of impressive historical facts about this site, left virtually unchanged for decades. Worth seeing!
Interesting natural place full of history
Extraordinary cave with great history
This is another interesting cave accesible by boat on the Romanian shore of the Danube. The tour guide there is very nice and explains all the history of the cave. 5/5 worth seeing. The visiting side of the cave itself is not so big but i think the cave is larger and accessible only with the right equipment.
Nice cave
Small cave with a 5-minute toured guide. Place of worship of ancient Dacians, later turned into a small fortress during austro-hungarian reign and used briefly as a shelter and lookout during the 2 world wars. Since the building of the Iron Gates Dam, the cave is only accessible via water by boat. Bring a decent flashlight and hiking footwear, the place is very slippery. It has a natural window that allows the sunlight to shine through. Best time to visit is between 8 and 12 in the morning during the summertime when the sun rays enter straight through the natural window.
