Veszprém Zoo in Veszprem

They have a lot of interesting animals and the dinosaur park is interesting as well. The place is clean and the workers are very helpful, nice and friendly. My personal favourites are the seal show and the penguins. In the restaurant the menu is delicious and is at an acceptable price. I recommend the store too as it has cute and memorable items. After all, I recommend the whole Zoo, as it is great for a nice family day for example.

Great day out, especially for kids. Everything is clean and plenty of space to walk. Food and drinks are cheap; youll be supporting this great zoo. Friendly staff!

What a pleasant surprise! This zoo is very well taken care of. Its clean, modern, well designed and beautiful. The roads and paths for visitors are excellent and the animals have plenty of living space. There is a great selection of animals, basically all well known large exotic species are represented. Playgrounds for children offer lots of excitement and are clean and safe. This attraction offers high western standards, for an affordable price. May be the highest quality attraction we have visited in Hungary; lots of places can learn from this.We will visit again with our little son.

Great place to visit with kids. The zoo itself is more on the okay side, but the playground is truly great.

I have been to numerous zoos world wide. This is on par with most of them. Well maintained, spacious.

Its a good place for a family trip, there are many playgrounds as well as many attractions.

We spent 6 hours there with two kids. It was a cloudy day with short spring showers, but there are plenty of shady places with branches as well if you come on a sunny day. Good for a whole day with lunch in place for a family. Dont rush. Sit down and let the place impress you!

One of the best Zoo Ive ever been. Animals have big space and they are in the cages with others whos living in similar place like them. They seems happy here.There is a huge play area for kids with a lots of climbing possibility. At the food stand you can purchase a glass with your drink that you can refill any times in the Zoo and you just need to pay for the drink.

Its a really nice place to spend a day with your family and friends. They have couple of buffets, cafés, and also a restaurant. Since most of it isnt covered I recommend to go at the summer.

It’s the best zoo in Hungary, for sure.

One of the best zoos weve been to. Modern, with all facilities, dino park, beautiful animal shelters, great conditions and delicious food and snacks. The kids want to come back here each time!

Super fun with 2 kids (4, 8), but be advised that the weather should be below 30 degree Celsius so you can fully enjoy it 🙃

A very nice and open zoo, animal welfare here looks great, they have a lot of room and look well fed and groomed. Its a very open and clean zoo, with a wide variety of animals. The dino park is fun as well and the dinos are well made and look real as far as I can tell :)Definitely a recommendation to visit when youre staying in the vicinity. We were in balatonfured and it was a half hour drive.Prices are great as well, we payed about € 35,- entrance fee for two adults and two kids, and the food and drink stalls on the park are plenty and also not very expensive.

Animals in the zoo suffer tremendously, both physically and mentally. It was so sad to see the tiger in this small cage.

It will give you mixed feeling after finish the Zoo tour. Walking under the sun can be very very tiring as you hardly find any shades to take rest on walking path. Zoo should have more resting places as mainly it’s visited with kids. They should have more places to drink water. When sun is around 35 degree Celsius it’s difficult to walk with kid with hardly any shades around.

Excellent place to visit. Amusing for both young and not soo young😀 A must see place.

The zoo is so big you can spend a half day here! Kids and adults will love it alike. There is a huge variety of animals from all around the world, great playgrounds, delicious food and an amazing dino park.

This is a very nice ZOO, great enclosures for animals. Enough stalls with refreshment. There is also a dinopark and I must say its the nicest one Ive seen so far. The only thing is they dont give/sell any ZOO maps, there are just boards with them inside.

Absolutely beautiful zoo, clean, nice, modern. A lot of benches everywhere, many little restaurants / bistros. Animals came close to the fences and the Dino park was also nice.

Great zoo, very neat and tidy, the animals are in great shape, calm and have amazing and very nature-like homes. 😊 Just some constructive feedback in case of sudden bad weather: it would be good to have childrens clothing in the souvenir shops. Some areas and houses were closed due to Covid restrictions e.g. The Dino Park, Monkey House. I would love to return here once the pandemic is over and all parts could be visited. 😊

Plenty of spaces, beautiful animals, best playground ever. One whole day is not enough to discover it. With kids its an excellent choice for a weekend. Reasonable prices.

Very good and nice ZOO with many interesting animals

Playgrounds are cool, but the trees that will give shades along the footpaths are still growing, not nearly big enough, and many animals have very limited space to move about. The savanna display is amazing. Good variety of buffets with card payment option everywhere, and not excessive pricing. Kids enjoy it very much, for adults its less enjoyable.

I was here 2 summers ago, so... some things can be different right now. I remember then was a nice experience. You can see here a lot of animals which have a lot of space. Also, you can see a very nice dino park. Its very useful the fact that animal descriptions are also in English.

Highly recommended. I visited this zoo decades ago as a child and now that I have a son, I wanted to take him here to make new memories.This place has recently been extended and part of the old areas are currently under renovation. The entrance fee is slightly on the higher end but considering the size and quality of the zoo, it is very very reasonably priced. Our plan was to spend a few hours here; we arrived just after 11am and only left at closing time!We had lunch in the zoo restaurant, the food was good quality and also good price. There are also several cafés where you can purchase soft drinks, beer, snacks and sweets. The souvenir shop is located at the old entrance. There are numerous toilets; these were all clean and supplied with toilet roll, soap and hand drier.This zoo is super child friendly, there are superb playgrounds including an indoor one next to the terrariums. By the (newmain entrance is a massive playground with all sorts of slides, climbing facilities, zip lines, play boats, nets, sandpits, swings, hammock, huts, tunnels etc. This playground is more suitable for a bit older children but my 3yo got around with just a little help with some climbs.The only negative experience we had is with the dead ends. You start your walk from the main entrance, stroll all the way to the snow leopard just to turn around and go back to the goats. There you can take the road downhill to the old entrance, where again you need to go back to the goats and under the tunnel to see the rest of the zoo. We found this a little bit frustrating and noticed other visitors complaning about it, too. However, if the second half of the old zoo, which is currently being renovated will be open, I believe that this problem will be eliminated.The dinosaur park is a nicely executed place; the archeological tents and exercises give a nice touch. However, we all unanimously agreed that the savannah area was the best of all; the penguins and seals being second best. We could have spent a whole day in these two areas just watching these animals and enjoying the view.

Very good zoo, well kept, fun to be there. Theres an amazing Africa themed playground for children and a very good inhouse playground too. Endless fun for children and many animals.

Great dinosaur park with Hungarian and English signs. The layout of the park allows you to visit one display at a time, and see the next one as you turn the corner.

A lot of constructions were going at the time of our visit, so we missed quite a few animals, sadly

Amazing Zoo. Can be pretty crowded on the weekends and also it is still somewhat under construction. Recommended.

Loved it! We arrived right after the opening in the morning so we were the only people. We had the whole zoo just for ourselves!!!

Highly recommended family day out.The zoo went through an amazing transformation.Love how they changed the bird and rhino area of the zoo its almost like a safari park.The Dino park is an additional bonus to the site.Amazing day out today big & small.Will be back this summer.

Wery clean and well organized. Wide areas for large animals. Dino park was quite cool.

Visited in August. Wow how dissapointed we were. Same price as Budapest Zoo but 75% less animals and activities. Relatively large zoo where you walk distances without seeing anything.

Super fun! Loves the animals, theyre in good condition and seem healty. But only go here if you are ready for a BIG walk.
