Venetian Tower in Lushnje

Beautiful remain of past, close to go inside nowadays.

Part of the walls that used to encircle the city includes the Venetian Tower built in the 15th century as part of the defense from the Ottoman Empire. Its in very good shape. Theres a cafe located inside it now and you can climb the very steep steps carefully to see the view from up top and enjoy a drink while youre up there.

Not so interesting, nice coffee spot though

My experience here is limited to a couple of cocktails enjoyed on the towers rooftop:good view on Durrës movida and old town in addition to friendly prices and service.

Lovely place and historical building, but they turned such a historic place into a bar, which in my opinion is quite sad.Positive side, the staff is friendly, so you can see it.

We had a drink here to take in the view. View is ok, you get to see the port and some of the waterfront sites. Stay away from the "smoothie". Its just milk with a sickly sweet syrup 😷

The only remaining tower that preserves itself in a perfect shape. This tower is the symbol of the city. Everyone in Durres or in Albania knows this tower. During the war the tower served as a strategic battle position. Its actual function serves as a bar and as an art gallery. Its in perfect condition.

Ventian Tower is famious and great landmark of Durres city. It is listed in the touristc guide attraction. You visit this tower and through the explaination of guide you learn about the history and the ancient of tower. It is situated in one of the nice place of city, almost next to the sea. Many tourists like to visit this historic tower.

Unfortunately, the real estate fever that has take over Albania does not take into account any principle. Thats the reason why part of the citys history was uninspired embedded in the "modern" urban jungle.

I came here from California and had the best time. The night life in Durres is amazing and charming. The Venetian Tower was beautiful especially at night overlooking the city of Durres

A place of a great visit interest in Durres.The castle is ancient like the town of Durres. During the centuries Durres was ruined and reconstructed several times. The surrounding walls of Durres in their main parts belong to the Emperor Anastasius Period (491-518and are made up of two main parts: Acropolis or The Upper Castle and the Lower Castle.Repairs to the walls have been carried out since the devastating earthquake of 1273. Currently medieval walls nearly 15 feet (4.6 metersin height and the three entrances of some of the fortification towers are preserved in nearly one-third of the initial length of the city castle walls.. The castle was reinforced with several guard towers by the Republic of Venice and during the occupation of Albania by Ottoman Empire the wall was reinforced.
