Very impressive to read, and feel the horror stories and cells of this old regime. And then to think that there are still a lot of countries where this horror normal is.

Totally recommended to anyone who already knows the recent history of Albania and to the ones who will partially discover it here. This place is really worth a visit! The guy at the entrance is very knowledgeable and patient, answering to all my numerous questions showing good attitude and objective facts. Its a pity not many Albanians come. Tourists, please keep on visiting it, and Albanians, especially youngsters who endlessly hear stories from family and relatives about the Communist era, please keep the memory of the prisoners, victims and tortured alive.Im from Shkoder, living abroad -never lived in Albania- and it broke my heart realising that my brother and I were among the very few Albanians visiting such an important venue.100 lek for students

Nicely done museum highlighting the oppression of mostly religious persons during the Communist Era in and around Shkoder. Its 150 lek or 2 eur per person to enter. Museum takes about 30-45 minutes. At the end is the real prison where victims were held. Very real and moving. Highly recommend if in the area.

Really interesting museum about repression that went on under Enver Hoxha in Albania. This one concentrates on the story of religious repression and complements the House of Leaves (surveillance), BunkArt 1 (modern Albanian history and isolationand BunkArt 2 (the Albanian gulagin Tirana.

A poignant place fun of pain and difficulty. Its not an easy visit but well worth the sadness. Its a place of importance and significance. The cells are harrowing but the difficult recent history of Albania shouldnt be hidden or ignored. 200 lek well spent in my opinion.

Not a lot of artifacts but for the price it is very informative. An old commie prison is set up in a modernist frame. Its a powerful testimony to the history of Communism in Shkoder

DE plaats waar je met de neus op het feit wordt gedrukt, dat niet alleen extreem rechts, maar ook extreem links moet worden bestreden. Hier wordt duidelijk waar een Stalinistisch regime toe in staat is en waar je koude rillingen van krijgt, ook al is het buiten +30 graden.

Museo della Memoria (Muzeu i Kujtesës)Il Museo della Memoria (Muzeu i Kujtesëso il Museo dei crimini del comunismo (viene chiamato anche il Museo delle sofferenze dalla dittatura comunista). Secondo larchitetto Viktor Dhimgjini che ha progettato ledificio, il percorso espositivo del museo è stato concepito come un viaggio simbolico in una galleria con una lunghezza di circa 50 m che, ripercorrendo la distanza attraversata dai detenuti, dalle celle destinate alla carcerazione preventiva (Hetusijaconduce fino alle carceri. Gli ambienti dellex carcere e la sede dei Servizi segreti (Sigurimiche si trovano alla sinistra delledificio si sono preservati intatti.Il museo è un luogo di memoria per ricordare quanto accadde nel periodo della dittatura comunista principalmente a Scutari (Shkoderin Albania dal 1944 fino agli anni 90. Gli oggetti esposti, fra i quali le testimonianze raccolte: interviste, fotografie, memorie, ricordano la violenza fisica e psicologica subita dai detenuti.Il percorso è ideato per linstallazione di postazioni video, con trasmissione diretta dellaudio, nelle quali appariranno testimoni sopravvissuti al massacro e prigionieri politici prevalentemente scutarini che raccontano le loro esperienze secondo un percorso suddiviso in tappe tematiche in cui vengono narrati vari aspetti della prigionia come larrivo, la vita, le torture e la morte nelle celle.La struttura è un luogo di conoscenza e dincontro per quanti intendono approfondire i temi della memoria storica orientati anche verso problematiche dellattualità.Il Museo dei Crimini della Dittatura è un progetto congiunto tra il Ministero del Turismo, Cultura, Gioventù e dello Sport e del Comune di Scutari. E il primo museo nel suo genere in Albania, dopo il Padiglione del Genocidio (Pavioni i Gjenocidit), aperto negli ultimi anni nel Museo Nazionale di Tirana.
