Vegan Junkies - Vegan restaurant in Belas, Portugal
First I visited Lisbon to see the city and having a nice time. After a while I became all of the sudden hungry.. and my friends and me decided to eat some vegan food. Honestly I was not expecting that this place gave me a orgasm. I normally don’t like oral but this food was fking delicious!!
Best vegan burger ever! Small restaurant but food made with love. Lovely music, nice staff. :And amazing dessert!
The food was really tasty, the starters were bigger than expected, we ordered the nachos which were huge. Everyone came away stuffed, youve been warned 😂
The food at vegan junkies is really good and today was gonna be my lucky day or two for one pizza. Until I saw how they were preparing my pizza in the end, cutting it with their bare hands a pair scissors. I don’t want a case of hepatitis or any other food borne illness with my pizza. Thank you. Once my pizza is cooked I expect it to be minimally touched. So gross- please bye some nitrate disposable gloves.
This place is amazing! The vegan tacos are perfect!! 😍😍 We tried the nopales and the seitan tacos!!😍😍
A very pleasant evening, great service, great good reasonable prices!
The food was excellent, staff were friendly, service was great. Its a little out of the way if youre staying downtown, but worth the effort. Small space, we sat outside.Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the nachos, cheese balls, and cheeseburger. Great cheap beer as well! Non-vegans loved it!!
Delicious vegan food! If you want to eat something great that’s the place you should definitely visit.
Drink took a little longer than normal and the person who made it said they went out to get a missing ingredient for it 🫶🏼 Great food, kind people, good music
Great food and nice service :we had the chickpea balls and mac‘n‘cheese as starters and then the green burger and „rolled up“ wrap for main! We ordered without the fries because we were very full already - definitely wany to come back to try more!
A great take on American fast food, vegan style. We dined in for all starters, mac and cheese, onion rings, califlower wings and the nachos. Fav of the bunch was the nachos!
This place is all vegan/plant based and it was amazing! I really liked the chorizo tacos. They were out of the Mac and Cheese when we went but likely because its that popular. This place is great for vegans and non vegans
Very nice place, interesting menu with many different dishes. The things I ordered were really good, although I must say they could be improved to be even tastier, in my opinion. The place looks really nice, and the staff is great, super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Overall great place if your looking for vegan food in Porto. They have a great selection. If you don’t like cauliflower then you may not like some of the options. When I went they were quite busy and we had to wait ~5 minutes, but definitely worth the wait.
Stumbled across this place which is 45 second walk from Chill Out hostel. Hip hop themed food and drinks! I got the Notorious BIG burger and fries and the chilli mojito Can I Kick It? Food was amazing and so cheap! The waitress needs to smile more though, she looked miserable
Fantastic food. Best vegan burger I have ever had! Good service and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
Actually the best meal I had in Lisbon in terms of taste, no lie. The Nopales cactus tacos were legit the bomb with the El Yucateco sauce. Staff were so cool and chill, Im just sad we discovered it on our last day and couldnt go again! Must try this during your stay
Today I went again to the vegan junkies! I told them that the fries were salty. They made it just perfect today!!!! I loved it. (I told before that they were all very friendly there). I ordered a cheeseburger. OMG! What was that… we also ordered a ‘common people’ beer and it really tastes good. Afterwards we ordered dessert: a Peanut pie and a fried Oreo! Taste of heaven! This restaurant is really nice. If you are a vegan and have a chance to try it, you will not regret it. I found it in de app ‘Happy cow’.
The best pizza in town seriously! Yummy ingredients and most importantly a proper pizza dough and oven. We also had the fab tacos and the brilliant momos with a twist and we are going back 😋 That’s what vegan food should be like.
The menu is really cool how it comes on a record and the names of the dishes are really catchy. I thought it was a bit overpriced, especially for the ice tea which was 3 euros and it was a size of a tiny childs cup or something. Like the other reviewers mention, the ice tea is really really watered done, theres not much tea taste. The veggie burger also comes with cheap quality iceberg lettuce. It was just okay to try but not somewhere I would go back due to the price, quality, quantity ratio. They have a few tables for outdoor seating so thats a plus.
The food is great, I dont give it 5 starts due to the food price and the lack of options for normal tap beer.
A very interesting and intimate place in Lisbon where you can eat vegan. The service is very nice and we waited a very short time to prepare the dishes we ordered! The food is tasty and you can see that someone wanted it not to be too cliche. The brooch was too dry, but what bothered me the most was too spicy fries. The fries themselves were very good but unfortunately I was not able to eat them although I really like spicy food. It is worth visiting this place because there are many interesting options in the unusual form of the menu;)
Quality delicious food. Also nice portion. The best vegan place in lisbon. The prego dish is definitely one to try out. Its by far the best imitation burger of the original meat version of the prego dish out there. Nice alcoholic drinks as well
Good option if you dont want to have meat for a day. Had the notorious BIG, mac n cheese and the nopales tacos. Price was reasonable.
This is a nice place very tourist friendly with some nice food, every one speaks perfect English. The restaurant vibes are amazing very small and cozy with good music, the outdoors is very nice on a typical Lisbon street with some dim lighting. Loved that the menus come on a vinyl. The food is on par with everything else, nice variety cant believe everything is vegan! The drinks are a bit expensive and not much variety hence the 4stars instead of 5.
They change their menu so often. They had a cauliflower dish that I liked. They didnt make it anymore.l when I went a month later. So I chose something on their online menu, the vegan schwarma. They dont make that anymore either. No problem either way, but keep the menu up-to-date so customers arent disappointed when you dont have what they want.
Best meal Ive had in Lisbon so far!Food is really tasty. The fish tacos were really filled and nicely spicy. Mac n cheese was really good. All backed by pretty decent hip hop as background music.Must visit place for any vegetarians or vegans.
Sadly they were all booked and busy so I ordered my burger for take away. I ordered the Notorious Big burger and was surprised with the extra Fries - which were awesome with that dip and the burger also perfect. 10/10
Best vegan burger I ever had! And the chips, sooooooo good! What a shame I’m in Lisbon just for couple of days because I would love to go back and try the vegan hot dogs❤️. The staff were both really lovely, what a great experience!
Great concept. The food is very delicious with many vegan options. Sadly they dont have many gluten free options but its possible to find some like the Nachos. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is respectful. The offered in the menu 2 size of sparkling water: 0.5L for 2€ and 1L for 3.5€. I ordered the 0.5L and I got another size... 0.25 but they charge me 2€. Its not a big deal but it was not ok.
- Vegan based Restaurant- bar atmosphere- good selection of drinks- Medium selection of mealsWe gad cauliflower Wings, chickpea cheeseballs, a Hotdog and a burger. Everything tasted exceptionall. I can definetly recommend this place.
Every city needs a vegan soul food restaurant, this is the one for Lisbon. From the ice tea to the “wings”, the tacos and the burgers, everything is just so good.Super friendly service too.
This is a fun vegan place in Lisbon if you want to eat something that is different than traditional Portuguese. This place offers almost American style food with vegan cauliflower wings, burgers, nachos and Mac and cheese. What I also liked is that they offer the beyond meat patty and sausage. The staff was super friendly. They also offer iced tea that isn’t sweetened so that was great for those who don’t like super sweet drinks. One downside was the few seating as the place is rather smaller.
I found this place as random vegan place, but omg food was delicious, drinks and beers amazing and lovely staff so helpful! ❤️I love the menu design as well 😍Thank you!
One word: NACHOS!!!Vegan Junkies was an absolute gem to try out in Lisbon. The nachos portion is huge, great price and absolutely delicious. I went back again for a 2nd time and told everyone about it.I also tried the pescado tacos and they were also wonderful. The staff is also very nice. I will go back here every time I go to Lisbon.
. I got the jackfruit cheese sandwich. It was delicious. Rustic bread was toasted perfectly and there was a nice combination of flavours.
Purchased the Notorious BIG twice for 10 Euros; which came with fries. Once for take-out another and last time for dine-in.The burger itself was pretty good. It was more of the restaurant itself that was a bit of a turn-off. Could use a massive cleaning, along with proper pesticides during closing to avoid infestation of roaches. All-in-all this place has potential just needs serious cleaning both front-end and backend of restaurant.Wouldn’t come back, unless under new ownership that cared about cleanliness.
The Mac and cheese was okay and the coffee also not the best. But the burger with the VJ patty as well as the BBQ wings were amazing. The service was also really nice.
Hands down: One of the best vegan burgers I ever had. The BBQ wings were also fantastic. For drinks I had a great West Coast Style IPA from a local brewery. The only downside is that the restaurant is rather small so you might have to wait some time until you get a table. Its worth it though.
Love the vibe of this place. Super chill & casual. Great place to hang out at with some good conversations & great food. Particularly liked the nachos and I guess its one of the most popular items on the menu here. The chips that come with the burgers could have been crispier. It was a bit soggy. Yummy burgers. All, in all amazing place in Lisbon. It really shows how complex, and rich in flavor vegan food can be. Highly recommend!
I had croquettes which were really tasty and came with a sauce that paired perfectly the dish. I also had a homemade iced tea which could have a stronger taste to really both quick the thirst on a hot summer day and to be an experience in itself. The macaroni and cheese, very sadly, tasted like a pre-made food. It really had a factory taste of vegan, not-top-shelf, cheese. It lacked the real deal - nutritional yeasts. The source of cheesy flavour and the whole fun of making vegan food great.
Tiny little vegan bar / restaurant. Food very good and piping hot. Friendly staff that were chatty and welcoming to two tourists off the main tourist path. Fantastic menus made to look like vinyl records. Recommended!
It was a good choice for dinner, had a nicer burger and discovered a delicious stout to go with it (fun fact - the brewery is literally around the corner from this place - worth a visit!). Service was kind and down to earth. The place is small and it got busy pretty quick as it seemed quite popular, so factor that in for your visit.
Oh wow, this place is FANTASTIC!I’m still pinching myself over the fact it’s so close to my house. My bf and I usually order differently so we can try each other’s dishes – this time, however, we both got The Notorious BIG. Such a smart decision!I haven’t tried the other burgers, but I doubt they can top the Notorious 😍 it’s become my favorite vegan burger in town! And Vegan Junkies, by extension, my favorite burger place.Although we were’t crazy about the cauliflower BBQ wings (a little raw on the inside and not much BBQ flavorwe loved the peanut pie, which we took home as we were full.Either way, this place is more than worth it for the burgers alone!
Nice little place, friendly stuff, tasty dishes. We tried the cauliflower hot wings and the "Beyond" burger, both of which were delicious. So delicious even the ants love it!!P.S.: The fries and especially the sauce were amazing as well :-)
Visited this cafe three times on a recent two week trip to Lisbon, really enjoyed the cauliflower bbq wings and mac n cheese starters, and tried a different burger each time, and all were great with loads of toppings.
Really amazing burger, probably one of the best I’ve had in quite a while. It was nice to have a veggie based patty than the mock meat versions. It was a nice, cosy place and the menu is awesome!
Definitely worth to visit this small restaurant (and not only by vegan lovers!). They serve delicious Beyond meat burgers, which look and taste like real meaty hamburgers with a yummy sauce! Unfortunately we werent hungry enough to try starters or desserts, but we will definitely visit this restaurant again!
They have homemade sauces that are amazing! The wings are quite nice and the burgers also very tasty. Highly recommend this place. It is cash only, two people was about 25e, fair price. The service is ok.
