Vegan Express in Sovetskaya Gavan'

Think it’s an absolute disgrace that this place decided to close and completely trash the street with its used containers, cabinets and content of the shop.Makes the owner of this place look like a real hypocrite, if veganism is for saving the animals and planet when they has left the outside of their shop a disgrace for the community to fix! I will be reporting it today as 3 weeks has gone by and not a single attempt of cleaning it up !

We absolutely enjoy everything about this place… The food was amazing, the music, the service… Everything handmade by Charls, he make’s you feel at home. I highly recommend you this place! You will love it!Andrea 🌻

An excellent evening and top notch food. Charles really takes the utmost care and attention over his food. Most of my family are meat eaters and they loved everything we ordered. Would recommend highly 👍

Really loved the food ! The lasagna is banging!!! And Im italian...but this cheese it was unbelievably good!! Loved their tofish !A lot of options to choose from and so many drinks and the vibes of the music is 🔝

Great vegan food, and the owner/chef is lovely. A really welcoming place for a delicious home cooked meal. Great mix of things on the menu and also fantastic freshly made juices and smoothies.

This best food, with even better owners. We had such a lovely meal here. Havent stopped raving about it since! You can tell how much love goes into everything they make and do. Great family feel to the place. Cant wait to go back!

Incredible food served by an absolute gentlemen named Charles. One of the NICEST lasagnes Ive ever had. Really stunning and so reasonable. I highly recommend.

Update Dec 2021:We continue to eat here when Im well enough and if anything the food just gets better! Its a fantastic place with the most gorgeous food and wonderful people. Its now been around 3 years since we have been coming to this fabulous place!If you are fortunate you will meet Elliot (vegan express little helperwho is so incredibly kind, efficient and thoughtful. His waiter skills are fab!The most incredible restaurant! We highly recommend this restaurant its actually our favourite! Charles the owner & chef is so genuinely lovely, kind & so passionate about the food he & his family are vegans which is great & makes me feel much safe & I know how much he cares about the lifestyle.The food is just outstanding! Super fresh, tasty, amazing quality & great portions.Our favourites are lasagne, pizza & tofu & Chips and husband adores the black bean burger. The chips & garlic bread are scrumptious also! Every time we come we always take home the muffins they are a great size & taste.You may find yourself waiting for more than another restaurant but thats because of its all fresh food no frozen or nasty ingredients... Its super worth it!We do our best to come here monthly its so important to support small business & when can an all-vegan business is even better so this gets all the ticks for us. We highly recommend this place & look forward to coming again next week. We would eat here daily if we could afford too ;)Highly recommend

I’ve ordered on Sunday 28th November 2021 from Vegan Express tooting from the restaurant’s website and after waiting 1 hour no delivery arrived. That’s when I’ve decided to call and the answer I got was that they haven’t received any order as they don’t do direct delivery although the website clearly had the option for delivery and received an email confirmation for my order and was charged for the delivery too.I was given the number of the manager or owner and she promised that will look into the website issues and get back to me with a refund. I haven’t heard from her since although I have messaged her twice with the refund request. I’m really disappointed of the way they treat a possible client a 1 star is way too much. I’m attaching the pictures of the confirmation and the amount that should be refunded since I haven’t received anything from them, I was just charged for nothing. If anyone can give me an idea of how can I get my money back please share.

I would not recommend this restaurant, I’ve been cooking vegan for a while now and wanted to try something new with my family. The only nice person was the cook. We asked the waitress to turn down the music as it was rap, we were the only people in the restaurant (probably for good reasonand she made it louder. The food took very long to come. They did however give us a personal radiator because my husband hates sitting in the cold. We usually order pizza takeaway from here and it’s great but everything else isn’t. It’s tasteless and drenched in oil. Please save yourself the trouble.

Just had an amazing meal there .What can i say the chef was sooo good. I would highly recommend . Music wasnt bad either !Service was fast. Hot choc was amazing. So delicious . Food came nice and hot . We had the tofish and chips . Cooked really well. Cant wait to come back here soon. Nice people eating there .

We are regular customers here with the whole family. The food is mostly made from scratch natural and wholefoods, but also very tasty. The cakes, coffees, teas, hit chocolates and waffles can be recommended also. Great atmosphere for a relaxed dine in also. Worth a little journey to another dimension.

Really lovely food and great service. We had the black bean burger and red lentil burger with wedges. Freshly prepared and left us full but not uncomfortable. Brilliant chocolate gateau 👏🏻 highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

First time back after lockdown. Ridiculously tasty lasagne and tofish and chips, together with an insanely good mixed vegan starter platter. Everything cooked perfectly and bursting with flavour. It’s great to be back, thank you so much Charles!

Having been amazed by the food at their stall at Croydon Boxpark, I wanted to go along to the restaurant. I was not disappointed. The food is incredible, the restaurant itself has a cool relaxed vibe and the staff are lovely. I took with me another vegan and 2 non vegans. All of us LOVED the food and the insanely good home made deserts. We left already talking about what we will order next time

I was served directly by the chef Charles, talented and courteous guy.I had a fabulous tofu waffle and a fantastic chocolate muffin.I cant wait to be back and try other dishes.

Difficult to know where to start on this one.Excellent desserts, delicious mains, and really friendly customer service.Ive been vegan for the past 6 years, and this is one of the best places for vegan food Ive ever been.Will be coming back.

As an all vegan restaurant with an uncompromising menu that tries to be creative and replicate carnivore classics without the normal boring vegan options, I really wanted to like this place. The owner was lovely and welcoming and its clear he works hard on his own whilst looking after his young children in the kitchen. However....Service:The owner takes on the role of waiter, barman, chef, potwash and babysitter. As a result, the service is abysmal. By the time we left there were only 8 people in the restaurant including us but he couldnt take orders, serve tables, pour drinks and cook everyones food at the same time. The table next to us waited 20+ mins just to order. Once we had finished we waited 20+ mins just to get our table cleared and decided not to have dessert and be stuck there another hour. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but reviews from 3+ years ago are saying the same. This shows a reluctance to change and at the very least hire a teenager to tend the tables or assist in the kitchen to make a huge impact to service. On top of all of this, the owner adds service charge to the bill? A charge typically there to reward employees and waiting staff for good service. He is not an employee and additionally not providing good service.Food:The food was mediocre. The tofish was basically a block of battered tofu which made it extremely bland and heavy to eat. The lasagne was average but ended when my girlfriend found a large lump of sharp jagged plastic in it. Enough said.All in all, disappointing and we wont be back.

We had a really lovely meal here. The chef was on his own so was serving as well as cooking and although the restaurant wasnt that busy there were alot of takeaways going out. Really friendly service, and delicious food. Would recommend the tofish and chips and the nachos 👍

Finally got to Vegan Express and it was so worth the wait. Had the Tofush and Chips and it was delicious. Full of flavour, big portions - was planning on getting a dessert but was stuffed, will definitely be making the trip back. The staff were so lovely. Highly recommend!!

We keep coming back for the pizza and epic nachosEdit: just noticed I posted this tiny first review 3 years ago, so weve now been coming here for years! The food is always delicious and the owners Charles and Ulrika are wonderful people who love to throw in some extra cake for us which is always welcome! The pizzas are still as delicious, and the nachos are still my favourite nachos Ive ever had. I massively recommend the aubergine croquettes too!We even had our Christmas dinner from here made to order, and they recently started doing Swedish meatballs which are sooo goood, and in the warmer weather they also have an ice cream bar.. what else.. oh the milkshakes are great too!The portion sizes are generous, and I rarely manage 3 courses but we sometimes bring some cake home for later when we have room 😅Definitely definitely worth paying them a visit if youre ever in the area. Weve since moved away but still make the drive to come visit because its just that good ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cant get enough of that (to die for lasagne). I love the smoothies, the pizza is amazing! That cheese on the lasagne is out of this world... I need a whole bucket of that cheese on its own😍😍 loolAlso I love the garlic bread... the sauce which I think is garlic mayo is breath taking. I also need that by the bucket also🤩Looking forward to dining inside the restaurant next time.This is now my favourite vegan restaurant. Thank you for providing beautiful food in such trying times. Wow! We had such a great take away meal. Every single thing was delicious, tasty and we are full. Gluten free pizza was delicious, best GF base I’ve had. To fish and chips is genius, so tasty and batter was also GF. Highly recommend!

Truly breathtaking food, with wonderfully, welcoming people to match; every single morsel is its own delight.The Christmas Menu is a triumph of flavour and texture. Even if youre not normally a fan of beans, I would urge you to still give the beanloaf a try; its nothing short of amazing.Once you order from here, it wont be the last time!

Vegan Express was recommended and came here for a birthday lunch. The food was amazing, beautifully presented and generous portions. We were all filled to the brim but had to make a little room for desert.. which was also generous.The flavours were great and I. cannot fault the menu or the customer service. I would highly recommend and will definitely come back.

First time out for non essentials since lock down and WOW! The food is just extraordinary delicious. Me and my partner could not stop eating. Highly recommend taking the trip here, vegan or not. We will come back for more!

The Tofish was yummy. Batter is made with seaweed so taste is quite fishy. I wasnt a huge fan of the triple cooked fries, and would be great to see a few more sides that arent deep fried. Victory Vegan pizza was delicious and just the right amount of spicy. Will def be back to try more pizza and dessert.

The service was friendly and attentive. Im not vegan but found the food delicious and filling.We were there to celebrate a friends birthday and the staff were so lovely. The place was well lit with nice music creating the perfect vibe! Will be back soon!! Highly recommend the sharing platter and lasagne! :)

We saw the 50% off deal for today and managed to get a table luckily as it was very busy. The wait was quite long today due to the great deal, but the food was absolutely amazing. Our table ordered the ‘tofish’ and chips, lasagne and the aubergine croquettes. All dishes looked and tasted amazing. We enjoyed a margarita, wine and cider too. All really delicious - would highly recommend it.

Hands down the best vegan restaurant in town. Great food, fantastic customer service, especially David. Have to go to check out yourself.

The answer to your cravings for all things vegan, hankering for a sunday roast and not wishing to enter a traditional pub with its meaty offerings we sought out this place and was not disappointed.Owner was reasonable and friendly, was able to discuss how the food was made and is clearly passionate about vegan food.Ticked all the boxes and some, each component of the roast was enjoyed and sat perfectly with each other, a real delight.If you want roast dinner then look no further as this is the place to go for worry free vegan dining

Fantastic food and service, can definitely recommend the Oumph! pizza, delicious melty cheese and vegan meats. I brought my meat-eating wife and she also really enjoyed it. The Ice cream bar is brilliant too. The staff were so welcoming.

We were looking forward to our dinner.To be totally disappointed. About 1/3 of the dishes are to make their way to the bin.Covered in salt grains are not eadible at all!Very expensive evening when unable to eat what we ordered.Not using again Im afraid.

The food was good, homemade breads and vegan cheese made for a good pizza and the lasagne was really flavoursome. Cos taco was a really tasty and refreshing starter. And a nice selection of vegan wine. Great for dinner, will be back for lunch. Service was a bit slow but it was actually great to relax.

The food is pretty good to excellent. The decor and waiting times on Saturday evening is long. However, this is by far the best vegan true restaurant in South West London, partially due to lack of competition. Portions are large and table service is friendly. Expect to pay about £15 per head before drinks.

Very good food, it was a little pricey and took a while to get served but the staff was so nice and the quality of the food definitely made up for it

I am 4 weeks in being a vegan. My sister found this gem for us, I ordered the vegan salami pizza and the waffle with ice cream and strawberries it was delish!! I highly recommend this place.

Very quiet and slightly out the way, but with a menu with some great and creative vegan options!Went here on a Wednesday evening with a friend, and there were only another couple of tables dining. The food and drinks took a little while to come out but the waiter was very friendly. I think this place is still relatively new! But I definitely want to come back and try out some of the other dishes here!

Excellent black bean and veg burger. Freshly cooked. So fresh I burnt my mouth! Excellent real potato chunky chips. A healthy alternative and tasted mouth-wateringly delicious. I definitely will go again and take a friend.

Outstanding food. A vegans paradise. We had soup as starter, pizza and tofish and chips. The tofish & chips were amazing. Portions are quite big.The only reason Im giving it a four stars is service, everything was wonderful but after finishing we tried to make eye contact with the waitress for 20 min unsuccessfully so had to stand up and go up to her to ask for the bill. It was really busy so not blaming just a best practice for her to to look frequently at the tables.

We had a magic Vegan Christmas meal! (2016/12/12)This was the second time in 2 months Ive visited the restaurant. The first time I was blown away by the Spepherds pie, and this time by the Christmas meal.I had following items:StarterPorcini-mushroom and pecan pâté on finely sliced sourdough with lingonberry sauceMain courseChestnut mushroom, lentil, and cashew WellingtonDessertSticky toffee pudding with runny soya creamAll food was very tasty, so it was worth the wait 15-45 min per course. But dont come here if you are in a rush. The food is made fresh and to a high level of quality so it takes some time, and I still think they are a bit understaffed in the kitchen.Also, dont expect caramel sauce with the pudding, which in reality is more like a moist ginger cake. Very delicious, though! So maybe a better name should be Ginger cake and soya cream.Thanks again, it was a lovely evening and we will surely come back very soon.Victor (Vegan since May 2014)
