Varvara Waterfall1 - Tourist attraction in Polygyros, Greece
Very nice place
I really recommend to came there! The water was freezing but it’s really beautiful here 😃 The road to go there was horrible! We were driving 10 km/h ! Roads are made of stones !! And a lots of big holes. And the worst thing was when we saw on the middle of the road three donkeys and one very angry horse 🤣
Beautiful place but you have to be prepared for the road. If you are going wiht car, the last 500m. are very bad and off-road. Also, there were a tons of flies.
Was fine to get there and the waterfall is fine to cold yourself
Great place in Chalkidiki area when the weather is not sunny, or to hot for the beach. Be aware that the area has a lot of aggressive mosquitoes, you need protection. The small waterfall is easy to get to, very accesibile.I recommend you get some slippers or beach shoes, if you want to get into the water. There are a lot of sharp stones, but it is worth getting into the cold and clean water.Mini crabs are roaming around, completing an amazing view.
Gorgeous waterfall with nice cool refreshing water. Only gave it 4 stars because the road gets inaccessible by cat at a certain point unless you have a high standing car (big rocks), but it is only a 7 minute walk or so from that point. Some people said they couldn’t find it but you need to take the path going south towards the end of the river. It will have a bridge go over the water and then head uphill but it is only really a 30 second height. You can also follow the sound of the water as it’s pretty loud. Definitely worth it! ALSO: make sure you bring plenty of bug spray and cover up until getting to the water. There are a lot a lot of bugs and mosquitos but I used bug spray and didn’t really end up getting bit. Once you’re in the water the bugs leave you alone :But seriously, bring bug spray.
Very nice place, and it had water in this drought.
Beautiful place peaceful and relaxing
Lovely place to visit and take some photos. 5 to 10m walk to reach the waterfall. You can also take a swim.
Great place to visit, especially on a hot summer day. The air there is fresh and cool while the water is cold and refreshing.
This place is worth the bumpy drive down. Gorgeous cool, clean, refreshing water which is a welcome break from the hot salty beaches. Waterfall #1 is easier to access than #2. The walk to #2 is downstream and brings you to the top of the waterfall instead of the bottom, but there is a way to get down if youre up for a steep rocky hike. Bring your mosquito spray!
Very nice 👍👍
The beauty of nature!!!
Certainly is the easier to access of the two waterfalls. The road and the trail were in not the best shape so access was not great. First you drive for few kilometers on gravel road then some of the railing on the trail were gone and rotted. When we got there there we people with lawn chairs in the water drinking...The waterfall itself was beautiful.
Amazing!
Beautiful place for nature lovers and hikers, worth a visit.Note: the entrance to the area is a harsh off-road downhills and you can drive down to a point. ( slowly and carefully )
Superb
The waterfall was very pretty but the road to the waterfall was quite dangerous. First we had to drive 15min on an unpaved road without a guardrail. If there was any oncoming traffic we wouldve been in big trouble. Then we arrived and walked towards the waterfall, the path was quite slippery too. The wooden fence was broken on some places and the path had some steep parts too.I would recommend this place! But take your time on the drive towards it and wear good shoes!
Beautiful nature
Set high up in the mountains with beautiful and peaceful scenery, absolutely lovely with reasonably easy access.
A must visit if you are in the area of mountainous Chalkidiki
The waterfalls are pretty dope BUT please pay attention to this if you try try to visit the waterfalls please be advised you need at really high vehicle, my advice is at least an SUV or something like a 4wheeler. Google will show you to road, one is completely inaccessible because the washed away any road there could its not available any more, the second is kinda fine, but getting there with a susuki swift is not easy. There are holes in the road and the road is basically a field there is no tier or anything close to a paved road. The wholes there are about 50cm deep and yeah dont do it. Just use an Offroad vehicle you will thank me.
They say the best things in life are free! This is a beautiful spot 😍
must see
the access road is not entirely asphalted, and the path leading to the two waterfalls does not have the entire railing portion. It is a beautiful waterfall that is worth the effort. ok for 3 years old kid
Amazing place to visit and make a bath. Can feel the freedom.
Nice experience! 4 stars because of the Road that ( a lot of dust but in good shape)
Was cool but the road are dangerous.
The last few kilometres are on a dirth road. The last 10-15 minutes are by foot on a narrow steep and may be slippery path. Be prepared for getting there. Otherwise the waterfall is nice and refreshing in the hot summer.
Very remove waterfalls, not that cold, and lovely....
Beautiful, worth the effort and time
The best place to visit if you are a nature lover. Very beautiful but be careful cause in some places is a little slippery. Highly recommended!!
Beautiful creation of nature. Place worth of seeing. Clear and cold water is real refreshment in theses hot days.
You need to have shoes, not flip flops. Terrain is little bit slippery so you have to be careful
Moskitos everywhere... Running like a horse just to see small waterfall but well you like this kind of things go for it was nothing else yo see.
Grate place to spend few hours and enjoy the nature.
hard to arrive - 7 km of road in the dust. a lot of small flies arround. Not an easy way from the car to the waterfall - but there is ok. Use a mask if you do not want to est small flies - hundred of them arround
Went in mid September. Nice little waterfall to cool off.
⚠️road is NO road, it is a DIRT road the last 2km⚠️Please be aware of this if you dont drive a off-road vehicle. The waterfall is very beautyful
Acces road its not a good one. Also on google maps there are some problems with a closed road.
BE CAREFUL. Many reviews are quite misleading on how difficult it is to get there. If youre not in a SUV or other offroad vehicle, you basically have no chance to get there and a very high chance of damaging your car, not to mention that if you try to drive out of the attraction through the different road (google suggestedit is literally a pitfall and youll need to drive back another 2km or so.
Perfect place to visit, during the Summer or late Spring and early Autumn. Both waterfalls look fantastic! There is a path going to every one of them, and although one is quit easily accessible the other one on the last part has a wooden staircase to go down and it gets a bit harder. The dirt road leading to the paths is not very good but during the summer is easy to navigate it. Been there twice already with different sets of friends and everyone found it beautiful and worth the trip!
Great for a short trip from Stravos, too bad that the signs are missing, we ended up to a near mine in the first place 😁 The second watterfall has 2 access ways, a shorter one from the top to the right side, and a longer one, aprox 1km on the left side from the top.
We couldnt find it. We drove 17 kilometers over a dirt road. Serverly damaged our car.... and ended up not finding it. It was a great adventure tho driving over the dirt and enjoying the sounds of rocks scraping our car. There was another route but that route was closed of by easa thanks easa! 10 out of 10 would not do it again.Update: we drove a bit to a picnic place where we turned to a dirt road again. After about 200 meters we decided to walk because we didnt want any more damage done to our rented car. We did hear something that sounded like a waterfall. Sadly enough we didnt find a way down there where we would not break our legs so we decided to go back.
Very nice place to visit. Easy walk from parking to falls. HOWEVER NEED TO DRIVE 4 KM ON DIRT ROAD AND ALSO VERY EASY TO MISS TURN FROM MAIN ROAD TO DIRT ROAD
Very nice waterfall. Went in April 2018. We were the only people there. Nice and quiet.
Nice tranquil place.Lush green valley and clear water brook.Very refreshing.
Difficult to find. Bad road to it. Last 7 min. You have to walk with some big stairs. Nice surrounding. Waterfall is small but Nice.
Superb place on the mountains near Olympiada, 2 nice waterfalls in the forest. I enjoyed biking there from Olympiada, there is a hiking trail too.
Beautiful place. The two waterfalls deserve your time.
