The Taj Mahal Hotel, No.1, Near, Man Singh Rd, Khan Market, India Gate, New Delhi, Delhi 110011, India, New Delhi
Innovative Indian dishes are served with garden views in this luxury hotel's elegant dining room.
Overall a stellar experience. Great food paired with great service gets a 5 star in my books. I’ve never had chicken breast so soft and tender and more importantly delicious and the food presentation 10 on 10. We ordered Patthar ke kabab my wife loved it and botti malai was so soft Gongura lamb was amazing don’t forget to order jalebis. The staff makes you feel extremely welcomed especially our server Rashminder Singh and the manager on duty. This is the place if you’re looking for exquisite Indian food and exceptional customer service. Thank you 😊
As always, a great place to dine in. Presentation plays a great role and you will experience first-hand when you visit them. Rashminder, the manager, ensured that we had a great time.
The ambience of the restaurant is very nice - dim lighting, great interiors. But the food is definitely lacking in flavor and quantity. Having had Palak Chaat at various Indian restaurants in the U.S - the offering of the same name at this restaurant was a disappointment to say the least. The paneer appetizer was pretty decent. As a vegetarian - the entrée selection was pretty limited and unimaginative for a restaurant of this caliber. The daal accompaniment was too salty and the potato side dish was bland and flavorless. The laccha paratha was pretty good - but the size was that of half a regular laccha paratha - it was pretty tiny. Then came the dessert - Shahi Tukda - it was made in the form of a little cake - not what we expected. I understand that restaurants are trying to do fusiony things these days - If I wanted Indian fusion then I would have taken my parents to Indian Accent - an amazing place for such food - but I know my parents wanted something traditional and hence chose Varq at Taj - wrong choice on my part - Do not recommend it!
Went for dinner in Varq. The ambience is pretty good. Hygienic washrooms. Well maintained. We tried only vegetarian food and it was too good. Kurkure bhindi was something that left us amused. There Amritsari kulcha was something very different that we tried and loved. The way they explain the preparation of the dishes was also loved by the family. All in all we spent quality time there.
Food was superb. Services are good.Rashminder ji took a very good care.
Visited Varq recently again. Always the same warm hospitality and delicious food. Special mention for staff Savita & Thomas for taking extraordinary care of our 2yr old kid and made to order cocktails. Amazing place always feels good to be there.
Indian accent Anyday. The food taste was sub par, the combination was weird. You can avoid!
I visited The Varq Restaurant. Ambience was Awesome. Food was delicious. I loved Specially Chiken Ganderi Kebabs. One thing they can improve is Quantity of food. Also found The manager of hotel little bit rough. It might be there Taj Professional Atitude. But still they can improve...Ultimately it was Taj Hotel & it was fabulous...
We had a lovely lunch at Varq in June 2022. The gucci pulao, Dilli 6 chicken and laccha parantha were incredibly delicious. The service was exceptional: Thomas and the other staff took excellent care of us. One of the dishes was a bit spicy and they immediately replaced it with a delicious alternative. An excellent modern Indian restaurant experience. Cannot wait to come again!
Superb culinary skills of Chef Arun, redesigned menu superbly crafted! Fabulous presentation
The drama they create with certain dishes cant distract from the fact that this is very average food at huge prices. The service is intrusive with staff ignoring body language and unecessarily nterrupting, again and again, guests who were talking. They kept pushing the set menu, gave long soliloquy about the food, until guests began to snap at them. Bland. Pretentious. Uncomfortable.
Excellent food and service.Thomas was helping us from explaining about the food items to serving. He is very attentive to detail.
Excellent place with wonderful food and quick efficient and thoughtful service they make you feel like royality
Great food (India modernand awesome service! Mr Singh, the assistant manager was friendly, professional and helpful! Would definitely recommend :)
Worst service ever witnessed from any Taj restaurant. Food is not great too. Ambience is pretty old and laid back.
Dining at Varq is an experience in itself…it’s culinary extravaganza. We tried the following:1. Varqui Crab- This starter was simply awesome. One the best crab dish2. Dilli-6 curry- The tomato based gravy was too good but I would have preferred the chicken a bit more tender.3. Tamatar aur zaitoon ke kofte- Interesting ingredients. The gravy is good but overall it is just average.4. Chenna Paneer- The quantity was good and the taste was very nice. The fillers in between meals what they call as palette cleanser (crispy yogurt & raw mango sorbetwere really good. The presentation was really outstanding and the hospitality was outstanding. The staff was very polite and courteous.
Honestly not worth it!The worst Dal Makhni I could imagine.Breads are soo small and tasteless. No wonder the place was empty even on a Sunday Night!
Very good place to go for dinner lunch excellent hygiene its G M V P Satyajeet ji looks after each guest personally very different menu very good taste
one of the most amazing Crab dish i ever had created by the maestro of Indian cuisine Chef Pankaj...will be coming soon!
Delightful experience! Their signature dish Varqi Khumb was out of the world.
Celebrated our milestone 25th anniversary here at Varq, and I must say that it was one of the best culinary experiences I have savoured in my life. Mr. Reji Thomas and Dheeraj took brilliant care of us throughout our time there and the theeka tamarind made us crave for more. Special thanks to chef Aditya who ensured each and every course was explained in detail and catered to our preferences. It was a superb time filled with mind blowing food. The Chena paneer was delicious, so was the pepper prawn and was highlighted on our palate because of how fresh it was from the amazing sorbet. The entire meal felt like an experience that captured everything I would want. Definitely looking forward to visiting the next time I am in Delhi.
Amazing food overall ... The bread sizes are very different than any other general indian restaurant so order accordingly after consulting with the restaurant staff.Shahi tukda was amazing ..and a mist try along with the 3 jalebi
Presentation of the food is great, lots of thought put in there and everything does look great when it comes to the table. The ambience is also unique and one of a kind to enjoy a peaceful meal. BUT the food we had was just below average and tasteless. We had Palak Chaat, Galauti Kebabs, Paneer Chenna and Daals. I have been to Michelin Star restaurants so it’s not like I don’t understand subtle flavors. The food just had no flavors. Seemed like everything was cooked for someone who has never had Indian food and was getting introduced to Indian food so everything had to be super mild in spice level. Disappointing experience.
Follow me on insta @rajatskiesJust loved the place and the grandeurThe food was awesome. However the quantity was miniscule. I undersyand that its modern gastronomy but little more daal makhani doesnt change muchThe daal makhani was served on a small boat like bowl which is good enough for one biteIf they can improve this its a real good place to dine
We went to this place for a team dinner on a friends recommendation. The ambiance was lovely and Mr Thomas took the order for the group. We decided to try the set menu along with drinks and some options from ala carte. While we were having our first drink, they served the dinner on the table without asking or even informing us. The sequence of service could have been better as we expect them to ask for any drinks order before serving main course. Anyways, we informed the manager and ordered the drinks after the main couse was served on the table.Appetizers and main course dishes were average. There is nothing to be mentioned as a recommendation. Desserts were comparatively good especially the crispy Jalebi with saffron. Finally, when we asked for the bill it took for over 40 mins to get the payment cleared as the payment machines were not working as expected at the restaurant. I kept trying for 3 times and at the end, I had to go to the hotel main reception to get the payment processed from my card. Overall, it was not so great experience for us so we left the place with a bag of mixed feelings.
An Absolute DelightDining at Varq is something else, it is more like an experience which is really unique.I went for the three course meal with a friend of mine.Firstly i had the "Chicken Galawat" which was so smooth, that it just went in my mouth and popped like a cracker of flavours and then mildly disappear. The flavours were really balanced that you can feel every little details in it (And this is with every other dish that we have ordered). To complement the starters weve ordered an Old Fashion, which was really smooth and enjoyable. After the starters we got the "Dilli 6 Chicken" and "Chenna Paneer" with "Khameeri Rotis" and there special out of the menu "Mirch Paratha" (which they suggested us). "Mirch Pratha" was so crispy and the flavour was more like sour chilli (as it was made of jalapenó).And at the end we got the desserts which was the three different ice creams and "Rabri Jalebi", which included three different kinds of jalebi. I really enjoyed the jalebi with the Rabri It was really yummy also there was Kalakand with that.Apart from the food, the ambience, the music, the service and everything was on point. And i would like to thank Mr. Thomas who was attending us for most of the time, not only he was really polite but really informative with everything that was being served to us.In the end i would only say this, It is something like a "Once in a lifetime, experience" and if you can then please have this experience to dine at Varq.I can bet you wont regret this.
I visited ‘Varq’ Taj for my wedding anniversary. Ordered the special Delhi 6 chicken that was too delicious. We are happy with kind of service that we received from you guys. Keep up the good work..!!
You know how they say the best experiences are those where you forget to take a picture? Well our experience at Varq was right up there and it was only around dessert when I finally remembered to click a picture.Nevertheless, thanks to Rashminder’s Amazing hospitality and warmth, our evening was nothing short of brilliant.Due to restrictions they were offering only a fixed menu, but the dishes are curated beautifully to ensure that all your needs are taken care off.Everything was just amazing. Right from the starters with the juicy prawns and chicken to the main course of perfectly cooked chicken with an amazing variety of breads and finally to the dessert with the “oh so good!” Jalebi and quinoa kheer!Definitely coming back for more soon!
1. the select menu is very limited hence ala carte is better than booking via dineout passport2. food taste was average when compared to a place like delhi3. food experience was great, as all were following corona guidelines properly with double masking alternate table were vacant, complementary fillers between meals .4. payment was not accepted there via dineout hence the discounts offered by dineout were not valid.5. We ordered palak patta chaat, delhi 6 chicken curry, varqui crab, chenna paneer, shahi toast.... palak patta chaat was pathetic as it was more of a mangodi / pakoda not dumplings as listed.. delhi 6 chicken curry was okaish looking at a place like delhi.. chenna paneer was too much in quantity but was fine... dessert and sorbet offered in the form of guava ice cream was great.. varqui crab was too much in quantity and can easily be shared between 2 . taste was good., garlic nan was awesome...
Perfect place for a fine dining. Mohit Mathur the manager made it an amazing experience. Will surely visit again.
One of the best dining experience I ever had in my life anywhere in the world... would definitely recommend to everyone...
An absolutely beautiful place with amazing food, decor and service. Mr. Thomas helped us throughout our dinner with some of the delicious dishes options. This time we did a whole vegetarian meal. We ordered 2 different types of soups, one was the drumstick soup and second was mushroom soup. Both tasted really good. Drumstick soup had a dal broth making it quite tasty. For the starters we had paneer tikka, mushroom mirch malai and palak patta chaat. Our favourite one was the mushroom malai tikka and if you love mushroom dishes then this was is for you. For the main course we had dal makhni, dal tadka, chenna paneer and choley pulao. They serve dal in separate bowls and you have to order the numbers accordingly. Paneer was not that good and a little sweet for out taste. Pulao were very delicious and goes well with some raita. In our case we got a burani raita with a touch of garlic to it. They provide you with some wet tissues as well. Although we were quite full but we had to try the jalebi as it looked so mouthwatering and tasted great as well. They have 3 types of jalebi but we got them to change it to saffron only. It came with some kalakand and rabri.Overall we loved the experience and would definitely go again to try some non veg food this time.Follow us on instagram @foodntravelbliss for more updates ✅
Went for a family lunch and the experience was overwhelming. During this pandemic period going out is always tagged with a sense of fear... But here with alternative service tables and adequate space makes us feel secured. The food was very tasty and appropriate quantity for an average eater. Mr. Thomas made us feel at home with his native touch .Overall a n ideal place to hang out if one is ready to cut the coat little bit more than average.
An amazing gastronomic experience! The restaurant was not crowded and all Covid-era restrictions were followed strictly. To open up our palate, we were served a spoonful of yoghurt infused with cumin seeds and some molecules. We were served palate cleansers in between meals. Mr. Thomas, the head guest service manager, an absolutely wonderful gentleman made the experience very gracious and unobtrusive. A must-visit for modern Indian fusion cuisine !
Amazing hospitality.Around 4000 for 2 .The crew will make you feel home . Must visit .Parking is free .Chicken delhi 6 is a must try . Dum biryani is also very good . Quantity is good .
Visited the day after Valentines because we couldnt get a day before or on Valentines day. Place was fairly empty for dinner and considering that it was just a day after a major busy day, the staff was very limited. Two people serving 3 families inside and maybe more in the outdoor seating area. The food had smaller than usual portions, but the preparation was really good. It had Molecular Gastronomy touch in the preparations. Food was delicious, and when service was started, Mr. Thomas and a very wonderful Sikh gentleman (could not get the namewere very attentive throughout. In between courses, we were also given palette cleansers on the house, which was a great touch.Ambience was good, location is also approachable and this is a good place to visit.
Limited menu post covid but you do get a fair choice. And the service more than makes up for the choice. One of the best fine dine restaurants i have been to.Shout out to Thomas for ensuring a smooth and likeable experience.
Waao, what a wonderful Experience.Exquisite presentation of food, delicious and authentic at the same time.Warm, welcoming and friendly staff. Effective and efficient delivery of product and services. Thanks a lot for making a great and memorable evening.
It was simply a Taj experience which one needs to try in a lifetime. The food was delightful and delicious. Tried their gulab jamun cheese cake , perfect for extreme sweet tooth person.
Its Taj Hotel branch. Its very near to the embassies area. If you are visiting Delhi for the embassy work, would sugegst you stay in this one. The nearby area is really great. Taxis and uber easily approchabl. Even Uber eats and zomato delivery guys come to the doorstep. We purchased the staying package for 4 days from Xpedia. The offer was worth it. There is Wi-Fi included. Rooms were geart, tidy, neat. I loved staying the hotel. Its been maintained in a traditional style. We asked the staff members to arrange for an extra bed in the room. It was quite easy and quick. Before arriving from overseas we called multiple times to confirm some things like early check-in etc. It was approchable and communication was great. Staying in this hotel was worth the experience. Food was amazing. The only issue we had was with the complemantary breakfast, which the staff miscommunicated us and later we saw it as charged in the final settlement. It became a little heated disscusion but apart from one rest all staff memebers were great and warm welcoming. Overall, the experience was amazing and definitely recommended.
Excellent presentation, service took very long. Taste wasn’t for me. Place is pretty. Did not have a good cocktail selection, which was surprising given the restaurant is in Taj.
One of my favorite restaurant. we visited here maximum time within months. really its appreciable for their great service. highly recommended
We really liked Varq. We went there to celebrate our first anniversary. The main incharge sorry did not ask his name, but he was a Sikh gentleman. He was really attentive to what we were ordering and gave us suggestions in terms of portion and whether the food ordered would be adequate for 7. The Gulabjamun cake we ordered which was billed was really a nice take and refreshing on the palette. The food was great, staff were courteous and really helpful. It is an experience in itself. Definitely go and celebrate your special occasions.
Went there for a Masterclass and a three course meal. The complete experiance was excellent with insightful cooking lesson, unique food preparation and outstanding staff. Thier Signature dishes like Varqi Crab, prawn Masala, apple kheer and orange-tamarind mocktail were delicious and highly recommended. There are nice seating options with indoor and outdoor options as well as private dining table. We didnt find the preparation time for the food to be too much and there were accompaniment served in between. Overall its an experiance worth taking.
Varq was a great experience. Scrumptious and sumptuous dishes were served and worth every single penny. The food presentation was spectacular. They offer you unparalleled fine dining experience along with resplendent ambience and considerable services. Regi Thomas, Guest Service Supervisor, is very attentive and friendly. The staff was very well behaved and courteous. B. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Sous Chef, came to us for a feedback and apprised us of extensive range of varieties offered @Varq to customers for their valued and cherished encounter. Kudos to them 👍👍
This fine dining restaurant by Taj is the most favourite place of mine, been there many times, and the food is soo delicious that its actually finger licking good, and whatever they serve as Amouse-bouche is always very delectable and just yummy. And the selection of food they have is like-"yeh bhi chahiye, yeh bhi chahiye aur yeh to definitely chahiye"
Second time in two visits to India that Ive eaten here. Food is consistently amazing, staff are attentive and the attmosphere is quiet and has a lovely calm ambience. Highly recommend for both traditional dishes cooked well and modern take on Indian flavours. On the expensive side, but well worth it for a special evening in Delhi if you are struggling to choose where to eat.
It was wonderful. If you go there someday, Try Fish Tikka for appetiser and Kalakand for dessert.
Mind blowing :)chef Arun is the best host. The food 5 stars, ambience 5 star, service 5 star. The folks treated us as royalty. The overall experience was amazing. We
the entire experience was great. Personal attention given to each visitor is appreciable. the food is so appealing to eyes but yes it wasnt that delicious as I expected.
