Amazing food!!!! Delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality
Weve been a few times and it never disappoints.Excellent food with generous servings, attentive and professional staff, lovely surroundings, and very reasonable prices. Our go-to place, especially with visitors
MoreCame with a group of 29.Food arrived hot, and wine pairing was great.Everyone left extremely happy with no complaints.
MoreThe atmosphere and ambience of Varias was great. However we wish we were told though how big the food portions would be. We ordered way too much! Most of the meals were pretty average or had combinations that didn’t go well together for me.Also I don’t know why they would cut the steak in half on the plate before serving. It was very dry by the time it arrived, disappointing.
MoreHad lunch here today, and it was just beautiful. The setting was lovely, the staff really, really nice and friendly and the food delicious 😋. If you can’t decide what to have ( as they all sound delicioustry the chefs menu special of 3 dishes, a dessert and wines to match, just wonderful and a great way to try different foods and wines. It was certainly worth the visit.
MoreLovely mealsVery nice staff
Great tasting dish and matching wines
Absolutely amazing food. Staff were excellent and very helpful with choices. A great experience. Keep up the good work.
MoreExcellent service with happy smiles. The presentation of the lunch was fantastic as was mouth watering meal and dessest. The wine tasting was interesting and delightful.
MoreReally enjoyed our meal - friendly staff and one of the best rib fillets ever!!
Every time we visit Stanthorpe, Varias is a must and book early! Superb new menu - highly recommend the kangaroo 10/10, duck and wash down with the Banca Ridge sparkling red, and maybe take home a bottle or two. Cheers chef and college crew.
MoreQuality food and great service at a super reasonable price! The cauliflower bites (with blue cheese mayo dipping), kangaroo steak and the cheeseburgers are truly outstanding and one of the best we’ve ever had. Very impressed with the whole experience. The restaurant, being run and managed by QCWT staff and students, is pretty much in the same league as many fine dining restaurants, which would’ve charged twice or 3 times as much!
MoreGreat service, wine and food. Definitely worth a visit when in Stanthorpe.
Lovely atmosphere, beautiful dining room with a fireplace and tables looking out to the vineyard. Attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyable experience. The food was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back next time we visit Stanthorpe.
MoreDefinitely worth going here when you are in Stanthorpe. Some of the best food I have eaten in a long time. Service was great and of course a great wine menu. Before or after lunch, you can also do wine testing of the college wines in the foyer. Loved it!!
MoreWe went early so it was a little hard to find as its inside the centre however the Rib Fillet steak (medium rarewas one of the best steaks I have ever had. Cooked perfectly, flavour amazing, and nice hot temperature. The other elements werent as amazing, potato had too much thyme and Im not a fan of the whole peas just keep the pea puree 😉 but the steak was definitely a memorable moment 😇. The wait staff were polite and welcoming. Also the homemade aoili was spot on.... Rib Fillet with mustard jus and chips and aoili would be a winner 🏆
MoreA showcase of local talent and food. The service is A1 along with the food and wine. So good to see local teenagers wanting to learn a trade or skill.
MoreGreat experience, delicious food, great initiative by the government
Food delicious first class. Friendly service, knowledgeable. Will come back next time in town.
MoreAbsolutely fantastic great food great service great coffee
Really good food, beautiful spot, great atmosphere. Great staff.
The service ambiance and food presentation was excellent. Varias is part of the Queensland College of Wine Tourism and showcases local produce and wines. The menu is available on their website.
MoreExcellent food and service very nice atmosphere inside the Queensland College of Wine Tourism 🍷
MoreBest food around. Our top pick every time in Stanthorpe. Service and atmosphere can not be beaten. Great GF, Vegan and Veg options too.A real treat and good value for money.
MoreHad a lovely experience over lunch with my love. Food was full of flavour. Friendly staff also. Would definitely recommend and return back!
MoreLovely environment. Good food and good service.
Excellent service, food was delicious and ample portions. Perfect place for my birthday lunch. We brought our little dog along so we had a table outside in the sun and there was even a bowl of water for the dog. Waitress was great and looked like she cared what we thought about the food which is not always the case! Will definitely go back
MoreTL:DR If youre looking for vegan friendly meals, give this place a miss.We were in town for our wedding anniversary, and thought wed go here for dinner as past reviews were good for the vegan friendly meals. The entree of stuffed flowers was delicious, but the mains were really disappointing. It was stuffed eggplant, and quite bland. When paying $30 a main, I want it to be far better than what I can cook at home. I definitely make meals far more tasty than what was served to us here.
MoreA very enjoyable dining experience. Excellent food and service. The olive sourdough with chevre, the octopus were outstanding. The main meals were solid performers and the Eatons Mess was divine.
MoreConsidering that this restaurant comprises of chefs in training, you cannot fault the food; the serves are generous, and come out piping hot. Our party of three particularly enjoyed the share plates, prior to ordering our mains (entree not required). The atmosphere is devine, however, the service can be tweaked somewhat. It was a rainy grey day, but the FOH staff werent as charming as wed hoped they would be, considering that youre paying top dollar for the mains, and the fact that I did mention it was a birthday celebration when making the reservation. We will be back though! :-)
MoreLovely meal. Menu had a small (but satisfactoryrange of choices, everything we had was perfectly cooked and presented. We decided to select our wines from the associated winery (Banca Ridge), all were very affordable and well-made.
MoreDelicious food, better than other "professional" restaurants that I went to locally. Excellent portion sizes (2 course lunch filled me up to not need dinner!!and very well cooked. Quality worth waiting for.
MoreFabulous restaurant with lovely quiet atmosphere and wonderful food from the start till the end. Very lovely staff and great service. Would recommend it 💯%
MoreReally nice food and great service!
As expected exceptional service, outstanding quality of food and awesome presentation.
MoreBeen before, Degustation lunch is a must. Understand its a training school but a couple of little slip ups, like cutting the strawberries on an onion tainted surface. Restaurant heating temp too hot for the day. You go to Stanthorpe for the cold not an overheated restaurant and it was 23 outside. The wines they make are very good.
MoreHad the Melody dish as a main and the 3 individual small serves were accompanied by a matched wine from the Granite Belt. This was followed by dessert and wine. A great choice for $50. Other dishes are also available. A warm and cosy fire as well
MoreA must do lunch visit in StanthorpeGreat food and a changing menu
On Tuesday of this week we had the tasting platter , which is what we usually do ... and loved it . But we were intrigued by a daily special of Swordfish and Horse radish mash with a roasted Beetroot salad so decided the best way to have our final lunch in Stanthorpe becore heading back to Brisbane after a wonderful 2 plus week stay , was to return. We were not disappointed and loved the meal and the service and the ambience.
MoreThe food was delicious loved the pull apart cheese bread. The beef dish was excellent. The pork t-bone dish was ok except for the pork. It was half fat and had a peculiar taste. Serving times were a little slow considering the restaurant is tiny and it wasnt full. The staff were polite and friendly.
MoreThis restaurant have very good lunch menu and wine options.Restaurant provides a daily a la carte morning tea menu. In winter, dine in front of the fireplace or on warmer days enjoy dining on the deck overlooking the spring fed dam and vineyard. It also offers a world class dining experience featuring an outstanding a la carte luncheon menu using the freshest of local produce in a award winning architecturally designed facility. It’s open to the public for lunch from 10am to 3pm, 7 days a week and dinner from 6pm on Friday and Saturday evenings.
MoreThey do a $10 tour from Wednesday to Sunday at 10.30 am of wine making, tasting and cooking demonstration. Good value for 2 hour tour. Restaurant is first rate. Good selection on offer, prices vary but it is a restaurant not a cafe. Beautifully set tables with food to match. Lunch 7 days a week but dinner only Friday and Saturday. 5 mins from Stanthorpe across the Hway.
MoreVaried menu with something for everyone. Interesting too, the quiche sounded wonderful. Unexpectedly it was a tennis ball sized pie. Accompanying salads flavorless. Dessert not finished due to espresso too bitter. $109 = 2 lunch meals, 2 desserts, 2 drinks. Fortunately free parking available
MoreGood atmosphere. Staff are nice. Sous vide Steak was unfortunately very overcooked - didnt taste bad though. The balsamic lamb with lentil was great.
MoreThe teriyaki beef with vegetables and rice was swimming in oil from the tasting platter. That was the only negative. Tad pricey for $50. Love the idea of how the food was matched to the wine. Best you order the food first, then they will be able to match it to the right wine. 🍷
MoreWent here on a wine tour and stopped for lunch. The wine tasting was an underwhelming experience with a staff member who obviously had no knowledge about the product. Unfortunately the wine was also poor. The food on the other hand was quite lovely and served quickly. We had the 3 sample mains and deserts.Would recommend for food but not wine/wine tasting experience.
MoreStop here for lunch as part of a wine tour. Excellent food with wines to match. Was very busy. Remember to book.
More3 years ago I posted the review at the bottom of this page. I wholeheartedly recommended this restaurant to my family and friends and returned with high expectations. Unfortunately the prices have increased twofold, the wait times have doubled and the value for money has decreased to the point where I was embarrassed and heartbroken to have recommended such an establishment. Such a disappointment and very upsetting that a once fine example of high quality dining has reduced itself to a single star review.(2015 review)Amazing food, fantastic service and great value for money. This training college has a huge amount going for it and looks, feels and produces food that is easily some of the best in the region.Paired with the fact that the students produce their own wines, this Restaurant provided us with an experience that we will be returning for.
MoreWonderful dinner. Beautiful setting. Staff were excellent.Beautifully presented and a lovely combination of seafoods.Best dining experience we had in Stanthorpe.
MoreExcellent meal! Truly magnificent to see students from the local High School being able to have this opportunity to work towards Hospitality and wine making certification.Great job guys first class meals😀
