Museum with exhibitions from shoes to dolls, hockey & natural sciences, plus local life & history.
It is amazing. The best place to spend time with your children.
Good variety of museums in one place. There were interesting selections at the time I visited.
Not just local museum but there is on site also normally priced lunch restaurant with classic Finnish meals.
So many museums crammed into one! The primate exhibition was the most impressive
Nice compilation of different exhibitions. Highly recommended to visit.
Excellent set of museums which has to be visited when you are in Tampere and have some spare time. You need reserve approx 3 hours to take a look some history of Tampere (and Finland if course), craft, land etc.
Well organized museum with multiple exhibitions. Tickets, tours and environment are excellent. The gift shop is drastically over priced.
Our 4 year olds loved this museum, we were there for over 4 hours and had to drag them out! Food was also excellent. 5/5
I loved it!Absolutely amazing place. All the nostalgic games.Would go again.
Nice to spend time in different museums. Game-, Hockey-, Postal-, Natural History-, Media museum, Finlaysons 200 factories into a brand, Stone Museum and Tampere 1918.
A very great museum in Tampere! The game museum was especially cool.
The museum arts are phenomenal with each section exhibitions display that are well curated to make them feel alive. The buffet lunch price is nice with great food choices and taste.
Very nice museum. Large number of wild animals and birds, the early mans tools and many more 👍💪
Nice museum with a wide variety of sub-museums: post, gaming, natural history, minerals, hockey, etc.. Well laid out and comprehensive collection.English descriptions are mostly absent. But that is not a big deal.Cafetaria buffet is too expensive for quality offered.
This Museum Centre offers about a dozen different exhibitions of widely varied topics which will appeal to anyone basically. We only allowed about 4 hours to spend there, which wasn’t nearly enough to see and read everything. I would say a full day is needed to enjoy the whole place. Student discount available!
Good concept. This time we were renting the meeting rooms/auditorium. They serve the purpose. The museum itself is a good surrounding for various exhibitions. Of course the exhibition itself defines the interest. The exhibitions vary. The cafeteria was good too. Plenty of choices.
Several interactive museums in one place, a fine lunch bar. A place where you can easily spend an entire morning or afternoon.
This is a huge, very diverse museum center. I love the mineral exhibition and the morning paper one. Very enjoyable of multiple concepts. The fly in the ointment is that it feels like every exhibition has done just on the surface. And several collections are complete without English, which is unfriendly to only English-speakers.Several exhibitions have an expiration date: The morning paper exhibition on the 2nd floor is until 2022.8.28; The coffee stamp exhibition is until 2022.4.10.If someone’s particularly interested in these exhibitions, plz come before the date.
It is a really interesting place which includes several museums. I learnt quite a lot interesting fact while visiting here. It is a bit unfortunite because I came here when it is almost close. Recommending spend at least two hours here.
Many exhibitions for people of all ages. Highly recommended!
Just an awesome museum with something for just about everyone. We can here thing we would spend par of the afternoon, but in the end had to comeback the next day for more. So many things to interact with whether its the Game or Hockey or whatever section.
Museum Centre is just an exemplary model of post-industrial rejuvenation. Fantastic place with a whole range of museums for everyone. Must-see in Tampere!
Beautiful exhibitions and atmosphere!
Amazing place. Full of different areas. My 14€ is so worth it.
I went to see Vaprikis Knights exhibition. There were very nice illustrations of different eras knights armour types. Also the info boards was really interesting and comprehensive.
One of the best museums in Finland. Very large size, housing several exhibitions all the time. I have visited three times in a year and there is always something to see. The museum is located in old factory building next to rapids and is worth seeing on its own.
Amazing place to see. Specially the game museum . Had many rooms with different year theme and game related to each year was inside... and a room full of arcades. So happy i got to experience it .
Its a great museum and very cheap, feels like a bargain. You need a lot of time to go around it, at least 3 hours is recommended to fully see all of it. Has a restaurant and nice staff. Its really interesting and very big. Best museum in Tampere and covers everything from video games to biology and even stuff like geology.
At first i was not impressed, the temporary exhibition about Ostia is extremely boring, but the other exhibitions are good, there is a bit of everything it seems. Especially the interactive games part was fun.
In Vapriikki there are many interesting museums - something for everybody. At summertime it can sometimes be a little crowded, but it just tells that this place is pooular. Exhibitions are well planned.
Great place!, A lot of museums in just one place. Ideal for families, because have interactions and exhibition rooms for all the ages. Ticket cost 12 Euros, 6 for students / professors. This visit is a must in Tampere!
Amazing museum with so many games to learn about and play, highly recommend for adults and kids. You could easiy spend a whole day today
Absolutely five stars the amazing museum I have visit , keep up the good work,, parking available and there’s a restaurant with coffee shop and there’s elevators and don’t forget the video game museum
Very nice museum! A lot of interesting exhibitions and things there! Highly recommended to meet that museum!
Very nice interesting place to go, also great please to go visit for families or bigger group, in museo is restaurant , suvenir shop and conferences rooms
Different sets of exhibition, post museum took me 3 hours itself (I checked the whole stamps archive). There is also a beautiful doll museum.
It is a great place to get some cultural knowledge of the unknown artists in Helsinki, with a huge variety of products from paints to collars and hearings. The diversity is awesome and the creative astonishing. The prices are pretty ok according to the artistic offers it brings.
We really enjoyed the Dracula exhibition as well as the natural history section of this museum
Place where you can stay several ours than still hasnt seen everything. Worth to visit many times.
Highly recommended! Near there is free parking. It is important if you go by car. There are 8 museums and some exhibitions. Main of them for every local boy is Ice Hockey Museum at the third floor. Then go around and go down. Lunch (lounasthere is also highly recommended. We have visited Vapriikki two days to enjoy at every floor =)And do not forget! The Spy Museum, Labor Museum and Steam Machines Museum are located opposite - on the other bank of the river!
Nice nostalgic experience. And on Fridays its fee to enter the retro gaming part.
A great museum though it isnt free entry. Also includes a museum on video games which is popular.
A huge museum with so many different areas to explore! From Viking villages, through fashion and furniture, over minerals exhibitions, to gaming history (with lots of playable games), theres so much to explore! The different sections are clearly marked and easy to find. All the different sections are distinctly decorated and laid out, including a whole village in the history section and an 80s bedroom in the gaming section. So much love and care has been put into this place.Theres also a big cafeteria that offers lunch buffets, as well as a café with a selection of breakfast and lunch offers. You can definitely spend at least one entire day here, dont miss this gem of a museum!
Game museum is good fun with kids. There is a fairly big stone collection on display, too. Good place to spend a day.
Lots of entertaining stuff, dont leave Tampere without visiting this place. 10/10.
Excellent place to visit to get a feel for Finland and local Tampere history. The games and media exhibitions were unusual and very well done. The 1918 civil war display was sobering.
One of the best museum centers that I have ever visited. Small and manageable, but has many great small museums and exhibitions. The Finnish Museum of Games is a worthy visit even by itself.
Absolutely excellent. We came for the world class museum of games but also spent ages at the other museums. Youll need the whole day!
With a picturesque location beside the Tammerkoski rapids, Vapriikki is a museum centre that offers things to see and do for the whole family. We host about a dozen exhibitions each year, with varied themes, including history, technology, and natural sciences. Vapriikki is also home to the Natural History Museum of Tampere, the Media Museum Rupriikki, the Mineral Museum, the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame, the Doll Museum, Postal Museum and The Finnish Museum of Games. Our visitors are served by museum restaurant Valssi and the Vapriikki museum shop, which offers a wide selection of books, gifts, and souvenirs. Vapriikki is housed in the old Tampella factory hall, whose oldest parts date back to the 1880s. The largest exhibition hall, a hundred metres long and 16 metres high, was built in the 1910s–1920s. Vapriikki opened to the public in 1996, and the building was fully ready as a museum in 2000. The total floor area of the museum centre is approximately 14,000 m2, half of which is devoted to exhibition facilities and premises open to the public.
Lot to see for both adult and children. We visited Game, Ice Hockey, Doll and Natural History Museum.
