Euro-chic chain for pastas, pizzas & more, ordered cafeteria-style in modern environs with a bar.
Good place to go for inexpensive Italian food. I really like the concept: select your meal and place your order to your assigned chef who cooks it in front of you, eliminating the need of waiting staff.Usually busy given the very central location but the queues to get served move quickly and theres a fast turn around in the eating area and the efficient model in place so you can get the space you need quickly.
Beautiful place, grate Italian chefs. A little bit confusing but I personally love this Italian style.Maybe the waiting time is not that grate, but overall the Italian food that they cook in front of you such as pasta, gnocchi, and also pizza, make this place worth visiting!
A superb restaurant with a very quick and efficient service. High quality ingredients to make the perfect lunch or dinner, great with friends or family
Quick service, good food cooked fresh to order while you watch
Pizza was nice , place was so crowded and you could see all people working in order to service them , Salad was alsonice . The triple chocolate sweet can be improved. Place is very crowded. I see an over utilized Vapiano , or an understaffed one for peak times. Waiting time was about 1 hour for pasta.30 Minutes for the pizza.
Vapiano is a great Italian restaurant/franchise. Its nice to see the cooks/chef prepare your order Infront of you....before serving you the specified order. I really love the atmosphere and the overall quality of the food, is enjoyable and worth the price. Its one of my favourite restaurants in Soho which I return to from time to time. Definitely worth trying out if youre out and about in Soho and looking for a restaurant to eat. No reservations necessary.
Saturday night, very busy and all very disorganised! Cutlery and glasses always missing and leftovers on the tables! I like vapiano a lot but you have to make sure that you have enough staff, especially on a Saturday night! Food was amazing as usual and the wait for pizza was less than 5 minutes! Well done for that!
Great food (as always!and the people that prepared it were very nice to us. Its really cool to watch them make it for you. The prices are not too over the top and competitively fine for what youll get in return. The card system makes it really easy, too. That way you dont have to worry about keeping track of what you got for yourself. Would and will visit again.
The pizza was very delicious, and we don t need wait to long!
I really like that you can watch everything being cooked fresh. The choice of meal is great. It is quick and tasty and the vibe of the place is great. I went to Vapiano in Stockholm so was delighted when I came across this one in Soho.
Food was awesome but the standard of customer service here really lets this place down. This restaurant has quite a unique setup in that you are given a card as a tab-type thing. However this was barely explained to us and we were left confused. Bar staff was fine but the chefs were extremely rude and the customer service desk did not give us the sufficient information to know what we were doing. I’d recommend if you want a good pizza or pasta for a decent price but the service is a huge let down.
Very large pizzas for an inexpensive price. Range of Italian starters, mains and desserts on offer.
There is a gap between the design of the place, which looks quite cheap, and not so clean... to the food itself which is very tasty. The pasta is great and large in size.
Cozy space, friendly servers and nice service, but food was terrible. My fiance and I shared a barbecue chicken pizza and a calzone — the calzone was okay but rather unremarkable (especially for the price), but the pizza was just awful: far too salty, barely any trace of proper barbecue, and - without any exaggeration at all - the "chicken" bits tasted of fish instead of actual chicken.Did not want to cause any fuss so I didnt bother speaking to a manager after being offered the option after giving feedback — this is the first and last time Ill be dining here.
Lovely staff and service. Didnt have to wait too long for the food. Busy as always but would go again and definitely would recommend.
Beautiful decoration and great atmosphere. The food was great, but they got the order wrong (vegetarian bolognese instead of regular). They were happy to fix the mistake, but my friend had to eat after us. Given that we have to queue for our food, getting the order right is the least they can do. It was not even a busy night for a Saturday.
While cooking the dishes in front of you is a fun concept, the food itself was actually very disappointing, my carbonara was stogy and the cream (which an authentic carbonara shouldn’t haveclogged up the whole dish, for the price it’s really not worth the time and money.
Chefs are nice, food is good and not expensive, also there is some free bread with the main course.
Different concept but good ingredients, food prepared in front of you, good wines. Slightly disorganized - felt a bit fastfoody
I visited Vapiano Soho in January 2019, had the classic Bolognese, it was decent for the price and the quality of the ingredients was decent, nothing too exciting, though better than the average in London city center.the atmosphere was okay, the sentiment toward the guests could be a bit warmer. The concept of this place is that you wait in line, order your dish and immediately the chef prepares the dish from the grounds up in front of you while you watch his skills. its a nice gimmick for a one time visit but creates a long line.My chef had a minor technical issue with the Pasta cooker which caused the pasta to overcook for about 25 seconds, a negligible matter, but that created an apparent tension between the chef and his manager which affected the overall experience.I recommend this place for a first visit in a Vapiano branch.I will come back again when I’ll accumulate many unread emails to read in the queue.
Pasta here is really good. Fresh with natural ingredients. On weekends it gets very busy and you have to wait to order AND even to pay.
Vapiano is my all time favourite. Since I first tried this restaurant in Miami a couple of years ago, i felt in love. I couldn t wait to try Vapiano in London. But nothing dissapointing here <3The all time smiling chefs, I love this place..everything is so interactive, is like a farmer market (what is adore by the wayor is like when you got magical power and stay in your kitchen bjt you don t have to do anything you just tell them exactly what you would like to go in your food and a professional chef is doing it for you. You can have all the time fresh bread and extra cheese from them (for freeI mean cheezus, what else is important in life? :)ouh and dont forget to have something for take away ,because their boxes are the best ones in the universe! They are pretty and 100% reusable. Is amazing quality for price (really!I would highly recommend this place for everybody (meat and veg. lovers as well. And even if you not that hungry , just step in and watch the real cooking show.
Very tasty carbonara!!!! Best eaten with a pint of beer.
Interesting Italian restaurant, the idea is that you order food at a counter and have it made fresh in front of you.The staff were very friendly and nice. But the downside of the model is that you do spend a lot of time standing around waiting for your food, whereas you may prefer to be able to sit down if youve been walking around a lot. It was nice to have such fresh pasta prepared in front of me though. If you order a pizza you do get a buzzer to take back to your table.
My experience in vapiano is wasn’t very pleasant. I asked for a salmon carbonara with zoodles (zucchini instead of regular pastaand they served it cold. I tell them straight away that it was cold and uncooked. They prepared me a new one, even though I only wanted to be reheated at least, and in the new one (zoodles were raw againthere was also regular spaghetti. I was in a rush so I didn’t want to make it change and, fortunately, I’m not vegan or celiac, but still..! Actually, the guy who served me was a bit rude, too.I should ask for a straw because of the sauce!!
Normally like Vapianos but very poor last night. Person on the door said it was 35 mins for pasta and 15 mins for pizza - actually it was the pizza that took an age.Ordering drinks the girl behind the bar downstairs was miserable and rude - she wouldnt reach for the merlot on a shelf and instead picked two closer bottles of red and said theres only these: choose. She looked like she really didnt want to be there. The pasta was good and calzone pizza a good size and generously filled, but as you can see came out pretty burned. Was just glad to get it (my friends long since finished their pastaso took it anyway.
Love this restaurant! Besides the great pasta, I highly recommend their cocktails (especially the strawberry one)
The pasta was just ok. Not too much flavour.
The best pasta 🍝 price is reasonable, a little bit crowded during the weekend.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Staff are amazing!! The food is absolutely delicious and the Cocktails are lush.. Absolutely no complaints.. Ill definitely be back!!
Not all that!!! The way people bang on about Vapianos. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere, lightening and music was great. The food is average. M&S lasagne taste exactly the same. The waiting time was ridiculous. I got my food before my partners which meant that I waited an extra 30 minutes before we could start to eat our food together.I would only go back if I was alone.
Always the same quality, most of the time when i visit its not busy. Delicious italian food
The concept is good. Youre given a chip that is filled up as soon as you order your dish. The service is very effective. Each customer waits in line for his time to be serviced. The quality of the dishes varies - since food is prepared very fast in front of the customers. We were eating there at 10:00pm, and some dishes were not available, but overall we found food. The Pizza was not well cooked, but we didnt starve there... Plenty of room inside. You pay when you exit. I saw better Italian restaurants.
Quite enjoyable place. You can see how to cook your dish just in front of you! You can customize like chilly, white wine, peppers, cheese etc ;)
Food here was absolutely superb and service was fast but thats to be expected at a non-peak time. Prices are pretty good for London too. Not 100% sold on the queuing for food thing, although luckily we didnt have too long to wait.
This restaurant is truly great. What makes the food unique are mainly the chefs there. Mr Fran who is in this picture, he is super friendly + he cooks food very nicely. My friends and I really enjoyed the food and if we are thinking to come back to Vapiano, we all agree that this branch is a must visit with this chef.
Italian pizza and pasta chain. Was very busy on Friday night. Food was good but can take a while to prepare during peak hours
I went there with a friend quite a few times. This is obviously a very busy place. The food is good, the queues are long but bearable. The thing I found really annoying was walking down with my food and finding several tables with one person who said she/he was saving the place for his/her friends. Really bad as we ended up with the food in our hands and nowhere to seat. It is really annoying.Other than that, the environment is quite nice and I will be coming back for sure. I recommend this place.
Id heard good things about this place and it lived up to my expectations. Its busy, with lots of queueing but its fun and it works. Think Italian chain meets Subway.Theres a fairly wide selection of pastas and sauces and its cool to watch the chefs cook your dish right there as you wait.
Vapiano never disappoints! Fresh hand made pasta and high quality ingredients
Expect a long wait at busy times... Also impossible to find a seat. Seating should be allocated when you arrive so you dont wander around with your tray after you have your food.
Vapiano is an international fast casual restaurant chain that offers delicious Italian food cooked in front of you at self-service stations. They use an unconventional payment method. A charge card is presented on entry and is swiped at various stations upon your order and payment is made when you leave. As I entered the Soho branch, I was presented with many choices of foods including salads, soups, pastas, pizzas or a risotto. I opted for the pasta station.Arriving before the dinner rush hour, I avoided the long queues. Pasta sauces could be combined with any choice of pasta. I opted for the Campanelle with Gamberetti which is prawns in tomato sauce.I ate at a long wooden bench shared with other customers – a rather communal feeling like a school canteen. With fresh basil and rosemary pots at the table, I could add additional seasonings to my pasta. The prawns were juicy. The sauce paired well with the al – dente pasta. The dash of lemon gave it the perfect lift. I had this with two complimentary slices of warm bread; nothing more rustic than dipping torn crusty pieces into leftover pasta sauce. This is a brilliant casual place to visit with friends for a meal. With pastas ranging between £6.95-11.50, pizzas between £7.95 - 11.95 and risottos at £9.95 and £11.75, prices are a tad more than you’d expect for self – service. But I think there is perhaps something rather enjoyable in watching someone cook your food in front of you using top quality ingredients.
Good food, okay service. Restrooms were fresh.
I Love this place. Order direct from the chefs and watch them prepare your meal. Fully customisable! Choose the type of pasta, add garlic or chilli. Whatever you like! Plenty of seating downstairs, with a lovely ambience.
The food was outstanding, I highly recommend the Chicken alfredo. I visited the restaurant just before peak dinner time, so I hadnt experienced any long queues. However, the method of ordering is quite different as you have to go to a counter, ask for your dish the way youd like it prepared and scan the card, then pay the amount on the card at the end of your meal. 5/5
Very good place if you want to catch up with friends or family. Interesting design and well organised self service. Yummy pizza.
The most amazing and tasty pizza Ive had in London, friendly and professional staff, great atmosphere and feeling warm and welcomed .. highly recommended
Vapiano is like an upscale Italian cafeteria. You go up and order freshly prepared pastas, pizzas and more and then eat. The food is pretty average and the wait can be incredibly long and boring for the food. In the end the food is pretty average. I do not recommend going in a group to this restaurant because you dont get much time to talk to your friends. Im personally not a fan of the set-up but many others dont mind
Love the food here. Always have the king prawn pesto pasta spicy;mmmm yummy
Interesting. You get a card upon entering and you order direct with the chefs who then scan your card and give you a buzzer. Once your food is ready, the buzzer goes off and you go collect your food. The pizza was really good and fairly well priced. Didnt try the pasta but there was a huge queue for the pasta chefs, can only be positive! Quick food turnaround and overall I would return!
