Vanini Dolce e Caffè in Lugano

Great location at lake Lugano. I ordered a cafe late and it was serve in a tall glass which is interesting because it’s not an ice drink. Croissant was great but the service could be a bit better I’d say. It was slow and not very attentive even when the store wasn’t super busy.

Great for a light lunch or a snack. Plenty of space and lots of seats to choose from. The menu is also vast, with lots of salty or sweet choices. Everything was tasty and out waiter was very nice and quick. Well be coming back!

Bad service provided by unpolite staff.1. Rude staff, they must train them how to deal with customers.2. Overpriced products.3. You order and u wait for more than 25 minutes, then staff bring wrong order.I would really recommend the owner of this place to close permanently or fix this kind of miserable condition if he wants to continue in the market.(Rate is zero star not one).

Today I went to Vanini dolce e caffe for the first time, and I was very disappointed with their service and quality of food. The food is over rated and over priced including the gelato.The staff are so so rude and they make you feel unwelcome. Will never go back to this place again.

Bad staff

I think Google MUST consider adding a zero-star rating because it is the only rating I would give to this place. The only advantage they’ve got is the view, apart from that nothing deserves to spend a penny. Food is awful and overpriced, staff is rude and treat you like if it was for free. I will never ever come back and I advise everyone to reschedule their plan if this place is in it.

Popular ice cream shop and tea room in the center of Lugano. The shop is attached to the Vanini tea room.They make quite unique and esthetic ice cream cornets👌They have an interesting selection of classical or more original flavors, mostly inspired by Italy ( hazelnut, lemon, amarena cherries…)

obviously nice place with good desert but extremely rude because extremely busy.sat down while my family ordered. they said you have to order differently. disturbing approach. other then that good desert and location.

Great lunch and dessert spot with friendly staff and a unique menu in the square.

I think the only reason this place hasnt closed yet is because they have a good view to offer... but thats about it.-Rude service(not necessarily to me but quite rude to the couple next to me).-extremely expensive-bad quality food.33.- franks for a club sandwich, that to be honest well Ive had better ones at a gas station. Served with cheep packaged chips instead of french fries and the only flavour the sandwich had was of cheap mayonnaise.

The service was great. Especially Giovanni from the bar. He went out of his way to make sure that we got our order despite the fact that they were about to close. 10/10 I would recommend, Nutella crepe was amazing by the way.

A nice pit-stop for us where we bought 2 take away cappuccinos and mouth watering ice cream. Open till late which is a bonus when you are after something sweet late at night. Would definitely recommend you pay them a visit and treat yourself. Great variety of ice creams flavours.

Waiter didnt remember our order. It is no shame in writing it down, but pretty annoying to come back and forth with questions what was ordered! Then he brougt us a wrong bill (+7.5chf higher). The food was bad, chocolate crepes were hard and very salty.

Waffle? More like stale bread! Berries? More like vinegar! Crepe? More like pretzel!

On busy day’s the service is terrible. It took 20min to clear the table of the people before us 😠.

It is good place, but it is also ordinary. Nothing special there.

Very good Ice Cream! Especially the dark Chocolate and Yoghurt flavors are just very very good!

We sat 20 mins, waiters walked past and ignored us when waiting to order, just walked out. Waste of time, don’t bother!

Friendly personnel and good food. We came here multiple times for dessert. The ice cream is amazing both in the café and at the ice cream stand. Tasty alcohol free cocktail for kids.

Staff is lovely and kind.The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city.Take a seat, enjoy the time overlooking the lake right in front of you.... And thats it.Enough I think, to decide to back again.. and again.

Great coffee and pastry in the heart of Lugano. Right in Piazza della Riforma and in front of the city Hall you can have one of the best espresso coffee in town. The place is good also to grab a bite or an ice cream. For. The chocolate lovers they also own the chocolate shop right beside to make your experience unforgettable. Depending upon the time you go, you should wait some time to get a table. Strongly advised.

Location is great, in front of Piazza della Riforma (downtown), and 2" walking distance from the lake. Coffee, home made pastry or ice creams are definitely state of the art

Overpriced gelato and bad service. We ordered milk chocolate gelato and a set of fruit sorbet. They were not bad (but not great either- nothing fantastic that you cant get in any cafe off the street. We waited 10 minutes to place an order and another 15 minutes for the bill to come. Waiters were busy and disinterested in service.

Never had so tasteless ice cream for so expensive price. Never say never. Voilaaa. Dont take Nuttella ice cream. Does taste like nothing.

Terrible experience with rude staff. We were ignored while trying to order an Ice Cream while the waitress was chatting with someone for about 5 minutes long. Was clearly annoyed when we were asking about flavors written in Italian and then didnt help us to understand the English translation. After I payed, she ran away without saying thank you, giving me the receipt or even acknowledging that the card payment was accepted.Saying thank you and being kind to your customer (even if only for Ice Creamis the very basic of running a business - and they fail at that.

Excellent desserts, very quick service. A bit pricey, but worth it, in my opinion.

I stayed for an ice cream and an espresso. Ice cream was delicious and portions were generous. Espresso was lovely, Usually italian style espresso is very dark and bitter. This one was more fruity which I liked.

The waiter (in glassesthe first time made me feel unwelcome and he was annoyed while he was taking my order. The second time he poured rain water on my legs and when I remarked what he did he didnt even apologize and said "heh"... Ice cream is too sweet both times I tried.

Love it, they fill the cone with their home made white or dark chocolate before filling it with your choice of icecream.....a dream.Cheers

Pretty decent bar in the heart of historical centre, sitting at Piazza Riforma, facing the elegant city hall building. The staff are smiley and friendly, good service. Price is ok since it is Switzerland. However, we didn’t feel over-charged for the orders we made there. 2 glasses of Apéritif drinks + an oder of savory crêpe(which we shared and they divided in two separate plates for us. How thoughtful!)

If you sre visiting Lugano, take a moment to enjoy a cup of great coffee 😊 in a place located in the pedestrian zone, surounded by beautful buildings. Place offers breakfast and brunch options, also they offer desert.Absolutely must do is trying their chocolate.It is best I ever tasted.I gave 4 stars only because they dont have sugar free chocolate 😥
