Easy to find easy to enjoy and even easier to say you should try it.

Lovely views and great service, food was also amazing.

One of the best places in Cape Town!Prime spot, nice view over Kloof Street and Devils Peak, good specials, great atmosphere and above all, the staff is always very friendly and extremely efficient. They are the reason I always go back.Van Hunks should be a stop for every person coming to Cape Town for a short or long stay.(Try their mussel pot lunch special with a glass of Chardonnay).

Great service but food and drinks were a let down. The beer was just about cold and the pizza was about as exciting as watching paint dry. Quite flavoureless. Also we had 2 unfortunate incidents occur through no fault of our own.

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Went there with my family and friends and they were very unfriendly, the service itself was bad, they purpose gave us the wrong order and when we queried it we were told to "deal with it". They were very unprofessional and rude and it just seem like it was towards us as we were 2 mixed couples. Would not recommend or go again.

Is it just me.... Or is this place the most unfriendly lot of waiters in Cape Town... Really... you get the feeling they were in Customs school.

Food was great. Specials are nice with proper serving size. Staff are a bit rude. Greeted at the door with staff sitting at a table and laughing at us for waiting to be seated.

Great service, really fast and polite.Tvs for watching sport makes the atmosphere great.Food and drink has a great variety and not at all expensive. With specials every day and different hours of the day. We ate a pizza and wings. Go to Van Hunks and order a plate of chips, you’ll thank me later. Van Hunks just knows what up, they’re student friendly and their slap chips tastes like happiness.

I love the drinks, their pulled pork pizza is amazing. Its a chilled place for non formal catching up dates with friends or for drinks with loved ones.

What a pleasant experience at Van Hunks.The space is located in the city, however if youre looking for unique experience to braai in the city - this place is it.Our waiter (Duanwas awesome! Very helpful and super friendly!Preferably you would need to bring your own wood / briquettes, braai equipment and own food.You can also request utensils / equipment from Van Hunks, however such may come at an additional cost (call to confirm).

Well this is one place you have to check out if ever in CapeTown.. The food is unbelievably affordable and well prepared. The drinks ice cold and all.. I love it

Love the bar but definitely want to warn folks to keep an eye on the bartenders who think they can overcharge clients when the night gets late. A small bill was hyper inflated due to the guys working the bar thinking I was easy to rip off while not realising charges come through to me. Ask to see amounts and dont be taken for a ride on a night out guys...

Awesome bar service, craft beer and burger specials. The barman is a conversationalist and stays on task when it comes to refilling your glass. Had a great time catching up with a friend after being away from Cape Town. Definitely a new hang out and alternative to my usual Tigers Milk fix😉

I know its a bar but I dont think thats an excuse to not wipe down the tables, sweep the floor or fix a few things. The food was surprisingly good, burgers, pizzas and a really delicious pork and bacon ragu pasta. Based on how dirty the tables and seats were I wasnt sure I should order something from the kitchen but rather a safe bet pizza from the oven.That said the pasta was exceptionally good and I really enjoyed it. This was at lunch time so maybe its better to go at night and then you cant see the dirt.

The food is incredibly well priced and tastes amazing. The staff are great and their pumpkin ale is out of this world. 5 stars is too little tbh.

You gotta love Van Hunks, I loved the ambience, everyone was in the moment without being on their phones. Its a great place to be with friends, family or co-workers. The food was great, the burgers and pizza with some beer, perfect combo. I love the beer selection, if you love beer you will be spoilt of choice.

Not the best place I’ve ever been to. It’s a very cute and cozy looking place, so we were really impressed as we walked in. But our cocktails tasted more like mocktails, we had to ask for extra booze to be added on. Had a couple of drinks but still left sober as a judge, so not too sure what’s going on in the cocktail department. You’ll be better off ordering a beer!

Van Hunks is a Kloof Street institution. Laid back and welcoming to all. The assorted Afrikana on the walls are well worth a gander.The beer is cold, the tequila is even colder and when happy hour strikes , you will find plenty of like-minded people looking for a lot of both.This popular pub never disappoints, unless you are looking for a pizza before 5pm.

If youre looking for a chilled, young and vibey place in Cape Town with decent food and affordable prices, look no further.It is also a great place to watch sport. We watched the Springboks semifinal and final in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The atmosphere was amazing.Be sure to come around if you are exploring Kloof Street.

Had the grilled fish, and beer battered fried fish & chips here over lunch, for the lunch special. Both were delicious, and great value for money. Awesome place to come for drinks with friends. Minus a star cause service was a little low.

As a regular patron, I was embarrassed by the incompetent and rude service by the new manager today.In a bar with multiple tables asking for the commentary for a rugby game, the incompetent fool refused to put the sound on because it would disturb the dining room. Ive attached a picture of how busy the dining room actually was... Zero dinners 🙄😂The ignorant and stubborn alienation of regular customers really shows how stupid this new guy is! Get him running glasses until he can learn some manners, intelligence and a touch of customer service!

Van Hunks is a bit of a must-do in the area. The food is good, great specials and a nice vibe.Unfortunately the service is not always great, and a few of the waiters comes across as borderline aggressive, deducting from an otherwise great experience.

If you come here please do not order the burger it literally tastes like dog food heated up, the onion rings are over salted and the pizza is sub par even compared to Debonairs. Been here a few times as its in a good location but not a huge fan of it
