Valpark Chinese Restaurant in Port-of-Spain

Went to lunch today, the food was tasteless & cold. I asked the waitress if this was yesterdays food cause thats exaclty what it looked like. Please get a chef that can cook CHINESE food as lunch today did not taste like Chinese food nor looked like it. The fried rice looked like pelau. Dont waste your money going there for food. The serivce was ok.

Good food, cramped atmosphere, tables are too close together, rising food prices-unfortunately unavoidable. Staff not too friendly...

The waitress was impressive, pleasant and accurate. The place is dirty and the food was not all good. The beef and pork were hard but the chicken was good. Vegetables and noodles were fine.

Food arrived cold. Portions wayyy too small. Order was mixed up or probably disregarded. Prices WAYYYY too high for such low quality and taste. I will never buy again. One star only because that’s the lowest option to be able post. I really want to give you a 0/5 I do not recommend. I usually count my losses in situations like this and not leave a bad review but this one was way too ridiculous.

Food was quite tasty. Honk Kong wantons were way too salty.Prices way too expensive for the portion sizes served.

Ordered take out was disappointed the chunky veg was mostly carrots. 2 pieces of broccoli 1 sm piece of corn 2 pieces of mushrooms.Cashew nut chicken no taste or sight of cashew nuts plenty chopped onion. Prices up quality down👇. Customers should get value for their money. Your standard has dropped

We went for a romantic and relaxing dinner 27.07.2022. The standard was less than what I met the first time I visited few years ago (1997). It was supposed to be a romantic dinner. Instead there was radio (I do not like all the talking from the radioblasting loudly overhead instead of soft romantic music as in the past or live piano/guitar playing. They used to give you the warm towel to wipe hands, well none of that anymore. No fresh juices, only fruta. As for napkins, it was paper, not the expected cloth to place over your lap/chest. I spilled food on my clothes so I placed the napkin over my chest and when I lean over to eat, the napkin (because it was shortdrenched in my food (from the liquid). Lastly, when paying the bill via credit card at the counter, We were asked where we WANTED TO LEAVE THE TIP IN THE CARD OR SEPARATE. How bold to demand a tip for such horrible expectations of a romantic evening out. So I asked myself what did we pay so much money for when the food,drinks and atmosphere was typical of a regular Chinese restaurant and we could have paid a whole lot less and ppl not demanding a tip or pay for dining in.A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. Go Jennys on the Bld, in POS, you will get all the above I expected for the same price. Only because of the traffic we didnt go there.

This place has certainly lost the pizazz and luster it had many years ago. The staff were very friendly but the food was not all too impressive. I had the basic fried rice, noodles, chunky veggies and Chinese styled-chicken.Now the rice and noodles were the highlight of the dish but the chicken was tough and bony and the veggies were soooo hard that I had to cook them over when I reached home. It was my first time there in years and I think I wont be going back there any time soon.

Went for an earlier dinner with my mum. The restaurant is too dark and cluttered, not in keeping with a modern and light aesthetic at all. The food wasnt the best quality. The beef fried rice was tasty but the pineapple chicken was bland and the stir fried vegetables just reeked onions. There was little to no ice in our drinks and they went lukewarm almost immediately. The tiramisu cake was soggy and lacked cake on the whole. It just tasted like whipped mousse. The tablecloth was dirty and there were bits of the paper wrapper from the straws embedded in our menu. Highly disappointed and would not recommend.

Visited there for a special occasion. We ordered Sinapore noodles and it came with sea food. Before evening eating the noodles we told them that some members of the family were allergic to sea food. They took it back with the assurance that it was going to be done over. However, they picked out the sea food and gave it back to us. We realized that pieces of sea food were still in the meal. We alerted the manger who went to enquire as to what took place and never returned. Members of the table started to experience allergic reactions. We had to leave to seek medical attention. Poor Service. Dont Recommend.

Extremely overpriced for below average taste. My partner and I were the only persons there on a Tuesday evening and the food came cold to the table. The staff was not friendly and the service was poor to say the least. The standard has significantly deteriorated over the years to present...you would be better off getting good tasting food and value for money from a regular fast food chinese restaurant. Definitely a NO for me in the future *thumbs down*

Ordered cream cheese wantons and it was very disappointing. Was looking forward to it too. It was tasteless and oil soaked.

This is the worst!!! Yesterday, I ordered take out and the food was cold and tasteless. Also, I found a dead fly in the chow mein and I know it was not from after I brought it home since it was at the bottom of the tale out bowl. This is just nasty!!!

It was horrible!!! Their food is over priced and I say this because not only did it taste horrible the customer service was horrible as well! I shouldve gone to wok n roll because their food is 100% better and now I consider them to be really cheap!

The foods always great. The staff are courteous and very efficient and the price very reasonable. Whats not to like.

Pros:-Ambiance is good.-The price is tolerable.-Customer service is on point.Cons:-Food taste okay. I give it 3 star because it taste like something I could cook and the quantity is not much.-Tables are so close to each other. You wont have much privacy. You could eavesdropping the people next to you.Overall its still a good place to visit.

The food at this restaurant is great . It is usually full of taste and flavor. The ambience at the restaurant gives you ancient Chinese vibes which goes well with the food. The wait time for the food is good and also the prices are affordable.They have the best Chinese tea ever its a must try one you visit.

While the food was delicious, the quantity was none existent. We order Hong Kong calamari and we got only 7 small pieces and also a quart of noodles wasnt even enough for 2 people. Keep in mind, we dont eat a lot so when I say it wasnt enough, it really wasnt enough. I am truly disappointed 😑

Yes it was OK with its ambiance a throw back to the 90s ,the food was excellent however.My complaint really lies with the limp food box that our food was served in. The boxes the smallest of the type, really old school, so to speak, looking like we had collected our box lunches that day. The vegetables not enough for the money, the grease way to much to maintain regular consumption.It was a mess not nicely displayed/served. Too many biodegradable choices on the market for this to be the way this restaurant chooses to serve its loyal patrons. it was take away for human consumption not dog food. I was wearing white I was afraid, very afraid 😨 to eat. I had to use napkins beneath the box to prevent me from becoming dirty. Come on a little thought and perfection could be obtained.

Very clustered, food by portions are served on plates that cant be held properly. You are seated on a small table that can barely hold. The food was ok yes but looking around the ceiling had dirty tiles the ac unit had a huge drain pipe sticking out. But it was ok I guess not a bad place if ur hungry and in a rush.

Celebrated my graduation with loved ones at this restaurant, was serenaded and treat quite well. Even when our food had an issue the staff moved quickly to have it resolved. Shout out to Suzzy and Julie/June.

I waited almost 20 minutes for my meal. It seems that the chef was prioritizing whose food should be cooked first. People who came in long after I ordered and chose to dine in, were well in the middle of their meal by the time I got my take-out order of fried rice and chow mein.

Its very clean and the service is quite impeccable and accommodating. The prices are pretty good too, however, they need to update their menu. Some of the things I wanted were not available even though its listed on the menu. Some of the foods were pretty salty as well. Good restaurant though.

Very disappointing lunch today. I used to be a regular customer but have not been here for approximately a year. Im surprised at how poor and slow the service is and the condition of the restaurant is in much need of an upgrade. Even the napkins which used to be cloth napkins are now disposable paper ones. The food was also disappointing for the price I paid. There used to be better quality service and food for that price

Food was amazing,staff is super helpful soo much so its annoying but good annoying.The drinks surpassed my expectations as it was more "strong" than an actual lounge where its watered down. The dessert even though limited selection is delicious. The tiramisu was delightful !!!!

Looked good but was too salty. Possibly too much MSG. Food portions were small and wasnt authentically prepared or cooked. Soup was like a basic soup based. Quarter portion of shrimp was exactly 6 shrimp and over priced. Decor hasnt changed in years. Place just not up to mark. Very disappointed.

So I visited in 2016 with my husband and now with my friends for her birthday. The staff was warm and Inviting we were seated by a window table. Our waitress was helpful in helping us select our meal. The meal was delicious but portions were small and over priced. The deco needs to be updated.

Food tasted good, better than most Chinese restaurants in Trinidad. Sweet and sour chicken, noodles and rice tasted great! The chicken wantons were terrible and my House Bentley was too sweet. Overall I’m satisfied and I would go back if I’m in the area. However their food still can’t compete with Town Restaurant’s Chinese food.
