Valmiki Tiger Reserve forms the eastern most limit of the Himalayan Terai forests in India, and is the only tiger reserve of Bihar. Situated in the Gangetic Plains bio-geographic zone of the country, the forest has combination of bhabar and terai tracts.Valmiki Tiger Reserve lies in the north-western most portion of West Champaran district of Bihar. Name of the district has been derived from two words Champa and Aranya meaning Forest of Champa trees. There are three distinct entry points to the Reserve.

Beautiful place in Bihar , which takes you to automatic zen mode & allows you to connect with the Mother Nature . Jungle safari is the best of it . You can enjoy cultural activities in evening with hot snacks but The only drawback is veg food availablity . If you are Non-vegetarian you have so many options but for vegetarian its quite difficult to find good food options there .

Awesome place... My advice Indians and foreigners do not go switzerland and Mauritius, bur visit this place sure. Rich flore n fauna with a wild veriety of animals, birds, River scenes, tribals, etc.

This dam has been handed over to the nation by late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the then Prime Minister.  For any tourist interested in exploring natural beauty, a visit to the sylvan surroundings of Valmilki Nagar is a must, where the gushing streams of Gandak break the ascetic calm of the Himalayan foothills.Bhainsalotan is also famous for Valmiki Ashram where Maharshi Valmiki, the author of the Ramayan is said to have passed some years. Its a very good place. But animals are rarely seen during safari. So more amusement places should be created to attract tourists keeping in mind the natural habitats of flora and fauna must be left intact.

The best season to visit the sanctuary is between November to March for the reason that you can take the treks also easily without any exertions as the weather is pleasant; also, because you can spot the maximum number of wildlife- flora, fauna and avifauna during this time. One time adventure. environment and location is excellent. Navigation not proper also route is not properly marked. Take help from locals if travelling by road after bethia. If you book online kindly check you are booking the same room at the location you are going. It has 7 entry points and each points are separated by minimum 50 kms.Jungle safari is not satisfying if you are animal lover if luck is your side you may view it my experience it seen none during the safari so may say waste of money.Valmiki ashram is very good its on nepal border a nice religious historical place situated in nepal. Boating experience and lakshman jhula is a great experience.Bottom line one time visit and maximum 1 night stay. Also book in advance if staying as there are no good staying options nearby except govt resorts.

It is an extension of Chitwan National Park of Nepal into Indian side and is divided by the Gandhak River. The count of tigers is about 40 and the sighting is difficult. There are many old temples situated in the Reserve which are also visited by the people around.

The rich wildlife and the diverse topography makes for a wonderful nature walks through the forests. The volunteers are taken on a guided walking tour spanning 4 - 5 kms to give them an idea on the flourishing ecosystem of the forests. These groups of 5 - 6 people are guided by professionals and children below the age of 15 years are not allowed. It is a must experience activity when at the sanctuary to witness the plenteous flora and fauna, and to be awed at the grand and cosy forests brimming with wondrous bounteous nature.

Peaceful place. The jungle and lakes are really beautiful. You will hardly find any Tiger but still the experience is good because of scenery. For accommodation you can stay in Bettiah or in bamboo house. The food quality is not that good.

This place have so many tigers but you cant see them in day time. Visiting timing is also from 8:00am to 4:00pm.But if love to walk then you can absolutely enjoy this place.There is fountain at 6 km here you can enjoy swimming and at 18km there is a beautiful temple these all places are silent, will give peace to mind.
