Impressive place. You can visit 3 tombs with your entrance ticket. If you want to visit more, buy another ticket. Tutankamon, Seti and Ramses II tombs cost extra. No need for a guide since they are not allowed inside the tombs. Try to get there as early as possible. The crowd and the heat are overwhelming. Keep small change in your pocket since everyone will bleed you.

Very important place in the Ancient Egypt history. Somewhere the pharaohs wanted to find the eternal resting, to be undiscovered their tombs. By the time they were robbered and only the one of the young boy pharaoh Tut Ankh Amun was the best hidden. It is very hot to visit in summer.

The valley is huge with a lot of graves to visit. Every pharaoh’s tomb is painted and decorated differently with all kind of symbols and meanings, so visit as much as you can.📍Valley of the Kings, Egypt

Fascinating, but definitely book it with a tour guide as you wont need to faff around dealing with the ticket office and potential local scammers that linger around. Other than that, incredible sights seeing the tombs and the body of Tutankamun. It was boiling hot (Octoberso you definitely need hat or sunglasses and plenty of water

After seeing MANY temples with faint traces of the original colours, the Valley of the Kings is a full colour extravaganza. Beautifully lit. Some of the tombs have long, step climbs.Very hot and humid. As with all sites in Egypt, there are plenty of people around who will be happy to take pictures or show you things for a tip.

What a gem! What a place. Read and learn about it and then come here. You ll have a totally different experience because you ll understand better the magnitude of this place. Ive done the standard tombs (free with standard ticketand I had an absolute blast with it. The paintings, the hieroglyphs, the corridors, everything. The colors, the whole place is an open museum and its absolutely out of this world. Its an unmissable Egypt thing to do along with the pyramids and karnak.

An interesting place, its incredibile what they were able to build and how the paint has been preserved so well for tousands of years. The Basic ticket allow you to visit only 3 graves. The price is in Egyptian Lira. 1 euro ~ 20 LE. Inside the graves humidity is high and you feel like in the sauna. Outside is very hot, about 42 Celsius degrees, now in octomber.

There are 46 tombs in this area, with your ticket you get access to 3 of them of your choice, if you want to visit more you need to get multiple tickets. The 3 that I visited were the ones that were close to the entrance. Not so easy to get down and up because of the geat and the crowd. In some of them you need to wait in a queue to be able to get in. Bring a lot of water and some patience with you. It will worth ;)

I must say that this was one of the most interesting sites on our tour. To actually walk into the tomb of Pharoahs and see the hieroglyphics on the wall that told the story of that particular king was amazing. Then to come to the end of the tomb and actually seeing the kings tomb was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend visiting this site.

Another wonderful and big place, full of history. Youll need at least 1 day to visit all of the tombs and temples that are located inside it, we entered in 3 and 1 with extra pay: Tutankhamun. It totally worthed, the place is kept in good condition, youll use the Toctoc electric car to reach from main gate to tge entrance in the site and from there its up to you where you go and where youll entry. Great experience!

Very ancient tombs and very touristy. Nice to see.3 tombs are enough, and the special tomb of Rameses can be the cherry on the top, if you would like to spend more.

Lots of walk under the intense heat, so hat, water bottles and SPF will be your best allies. We had little time, but we manage to see 3 of the most important tombs. All I’m going to share is: go and see it with you own eyes.

Bring your sun cream, sun gasses and something to cover your head. You might bring your own water in order to avoid paying 2 $ for half liter bottle. Hot outside and even hotter inside the tombs. We experienced 45° in July around this place. But this cant stop you to visit the Valley of the Kings. Great place full of history!

The Valley of the Kings, so named because it was where the kings of the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth Dynasties of Egypts affluent New Kingdom (c. 1550–1069 BCwere buried, across the river from Thebes (modern Luxor). This name is not totally accurate, though, as a number of non-royal, albeit very high-ranking, people were interred here in addition to the king and other members of the royal family. The East and West Valleys separate the Valley of the Kings. Given that the western valley only only a few graves, the eastern valley is by far the more famous of the two. The Valley of the Kings contains about sixty tombs in total, plus an extra

Beautiful place to see the tombs of the kings. However, many of the good tombs require an extra ticket to enter. As of July 2022, it was 50LE for Ramesses and 150LE for Tutankhamen (summer pricing).

We visited the Valley of the Kings as part of a Nile cruise. We walked around at 45 degrees celsius and visited all graves found, which were more or less well preserved. To visit the grave of Tutenchamum it would have cost 26 more dollars per lesson to habe a look inside the grave. Our guide told us not to pay for that because at that time the mummy of Tutenchamun was already shipped to Cairo the the Grand Egyptian museum which will be opened soon in 2022.At every grave there was a guy taking care of the door and inside. We did make a mistake and asked him for a photo of us and of course they all want money for that. You better ask other tourist/ for that favor! In general „bakshish“ is a big thing in Egypt! They all want money for everything they do besides the original payment of course. Whether deserved or not. A real drag in Egypt!Close to The Valley of kings there’s the Tempel of Hatschepsut which is located beautifully and carved step-like into a big rock. Absolutely stunning building and working a few minutes walk!

Another amazing place to visit. Although a bit hot with 47 degrees celcius. Undescribable to see all beautifully decorated tombs. So impressive how they are made. My advise, go unguided. There are more then enough guards/guides inside the tombs who are happy to point out things, take your pictures or explain about the decorations. No problem to say politely no thanks if you dont want their help. I suggest to add Tutanchamon tomb as well. He is still laying there, great opportunity to see the most famous of all pharaos.

I have always wanted to come to the valley of the kings. This is the place that the Egypt new kingdom pharaohs lay their bodies to rest in hidden tombs. Most famous one of course being king Tutankhamen. It is so fascinating how much work went into excavating the tombs and carving these intricate hieroglyphs thousands of years ago to prepare themselves for the afterlife.

Its a MUST see if youre in Egypt. Simply just wow. With the general ticket 3 tombs are included, Tuts tomb is for extra charge. The mummy is there but everything else e.g. sarcophagus you can see in Cairo. In all honesty its nice but the other tombs are actually more magnificent. In the tombs of Ramses III. you can actually walk around the tombstone. Its a long way down to that one, sport trainers are the best to wear on a Luxor trip. Also, a thin white scarf perhaps to reflect the sunshine...

This is mind blowing! 4500 years ago the Egyptian made these tombs deep into the mountains in honour of the kings and Queens. 4500 years later they are still intact and the writing and pictures to honour them are just amazing!

Excellent place to visit! If you are in Luxor, it is a MUST place to visit! Usually not a big fan of guided tours, but, I would highly recommend getting a guide for this one! There are 63 tombs, some of them are closed but many are open.A lot to see, and a lot of information, that guide will help with. Also, bring a lot of water, you can also buy water and soda at some shops located within all the tombs.Highly recommend place to visit if you are in Luxor!

Amazing historical site. Id recommend you to visit it during winter time when the air temperature is more bearable. I visited it in end of April and 37°C are A LOT!!! prepare yourself to be "assaulted" by the souvenirs merchants , and also youll need to haggle a lot! One of them approached me to sell me a book about the historical site Valley of the Kings and he started the haggle from 400EGP and finally we got to 50 EGP!

Impressive place! One ticket gives you access to visit three tombs of your choice. Except for the tomb of Tut Ankh Amun. With this one you need a different ticket. It is like a sauna being inside the tombs and it can get busy especially when people stop too long while taking pictures so be prepared!

The tombs are well preserved and the details on each one, specially the Ramses III its really beautiful. If you are the Indiana Jones of the 21st century this a obligated stop in Luxor. Try to go early in the morning so you dont burn yourself with the sun. Bring lots of water or you can buy some inside too.About the payment better to bring cash, they accept cards but sometimes the internet doesnt work so you will be waiting there to pay for the ticket, like I did.

A once in a lifetime visit to the infamous Valley of the Kings. We went as part of a tour group with a guide. Hugely helpful.Tickets can be bought from the booth on the day. Standard ticket gets you 3 of the open tombs (which vary- your ticket gets a hole stamped each time you go in.They were waiving the extra camera fre when we visited. There are 3 tombs you can pay extra for.We paid 100 Egyptian pounds for KV9 the tomb of Ramses V & VI. A bargain frankly! Colours really strong and much quieter than the tombs you could visit with the standard ticket. Also a wide and gentler slope so easier to access. The other paid extras are KV62 Tutankhamens tomb. Not very large as he didnt live long. Did have his mummy inside. We chose not to...but others did for the fame of it.KV17 Seti I tomb is the other paid one. 1000 Egyptian when we visited. Find the online photos and virtual tours before you go to decide of it is worth it.Expect to queue to get into the popular tombs. Take a hat, sunscreen and water as it gets really hot in the Valley! What an exciting day it was!

Valley of the kings is a must on evry egypt tour. Its best to come early and have the luxor pass. That way the most spectacular tombs like Seti I are included. I was able to visit 11 tombs. People who are not very mobile should avoid the tomb of Merneptah, since it goes very steep into the mountain. From all the tombs, the most spectacular are Seti I and Ramses IV. Seti I tomb is a true marvel in art and technology. The quality of the paintings and reliefs is above anything.

I enjoy very much, it is of course quite amazing seeing all these places that are still standing after so many years. The 4 stars are only for the prices of the extra tombs, are way too expensive, but all in all, you get what you are looking for, is a most do!

The entrance to the site (240EGPincludes entrance to three tombs. You can buy other tombs as an additional ticket (including King Tut which cost 300EGP per person extrabut make sure you do this at the main entrance - its not possible to buy them inside and its a long walk back to the ticket office once you are inside. Keep your tickets safe as they are checked at the entrance of each tomb. 62 tombs in total though most are closed to the public. It was a beautiful, well maintained site. Very much worth a visit and the money spent. My only regret is that I couldnt visit every tomb.

Take care, take water, dress accordingly as its hot, and stay away from guys offering their products or other unauthorised services 😁😁

Incredible place, dry and dusty landscape with so many tombs. The standard ticket lets you visit 3 tombs. ask at the ticket office which are the best ones. Don’t fool for anyone before the ticket office, they are unofficial guides after your money. We did tombs 6, 11, 14, they were amazing, the colours in the carvings still vivid in places, a must see!

It was always a dream to visit this place and the opportunity arise I couldn’t say no. It’s a must if you ever go to Egypt. There are a couple of annoying people “surveying” the tombs to see if people are taking photos because apparently you have to pay an extra fee at the entrance to be able to take your camera with you, but even then it’s a bit annoying of them to always be asking if we are allowed. But pay it, because you will want to have those memories saved to later review.

Must see at least once in a lifetime! The energy in this place is fantastic and it is an amazing place to visit! The tombs that I visited were number 6,11,14 and was a perfect choice wich I also recommend to others. The price was 240 EGP per person for 3 tombs at own choice. If you come with a rented car you need to know that the parking price is 5 EGP per car not per person as they try to convince you.The electric bus costs 5 EGP per person round trip but the distance is small and you can also walk if you are not in a hurry.Always have small money at you for WC because you will end paying too much for everything!Take your time there and enjoy! The negative aspect is that everybody wants baksheesh!!!!

You already know that you have to visit the Valley of the Kings, but what will you see there? There are 68 Tombs, but only a handful of them are open on any given day. You will have to pay extra for entrance into certain VIP tombs like Tut (even though its one of the smallest tombs). Do some research, find out which tombs you want to go in and then coordinate your trip accordingly. I Highly recommend KV17 – Tomb of Seti I, KV6 – Tomb of Ramses IX, KV11 – Tomb of Ramses III. These have the grandest passages and most colorful reliefs. And then if you want to spend the extra money KV62 – Tomb of Tutankhamen is cool, since hes the guy everyone has heard of. Get a tour guide who can explain everything under the hill, since the guide cannot go with you into the Tombs.

Walking through the valley of the Kings and touring the ancient tombs is such a powerful experience, one you will never forget. The tombs are comprised of long tunnels down into the mountain with writing and pictures covering every square inch of the wall and ceiling space. The tunnel leads to the burial chamber, which in most cases has a high ceiling and a large Sarcophagus. We went early in the morning which was a smart move as the crowd became quite large by noon. There is an outdoor market that you can walk through that offers many types of souvenirs. Sellers are very pushy, forcing you to walk past them as opposed to stopping to look and buy.Fantastic experience seeing the tombs.

Magnificent this place is. I always loved the history of Egypt and visit to this place was a dream come true. I enjoyed every bitExploring different tombs. There is an additional charge like 400 LE for king Tut’s tomb and only limited people can access it due to preservation of the tomb.Tut’s mummy is still in there though. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Egypt.Try to use the flights rather than travelling by road. Its not that expensive (like £50 one way flight appxbut well worth it as it’ll save you the time and hassle.

Goes without saying that you must visit if staying in Luxor. The tombs are incredible to see in person. Each tomb requires quite a few steep steps to navigate with varying depths. The colors are rich with fine details throughout. While Tuts tomb is popular, it was the least impressive of those I saw. An incredible experience overall.

Monumental dont miss. The location itself is magnificent specialy before sunset. Three tombs included in the ticked price. (For Tutankhamens tomb you pay extra but it is a small one and the artifacts have all been taken away to Cairo museum so its not worth it). Bus train takes u from entrance to the tombs. If u have been in Egypt and not seen this then u havent really visited. Best time to visit from November to early April because of the unbearable hot temperature later on. Keep in mind it is an open space nowhere to hide

The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis.[5] The wadi consists of two valleys: the East Valley (where the majority of the royal tombs are situatedand the West Valley (Valley of the Monkeys).[6][7]With the 2005 discovery of a new chamber and the 2008 discovery of two further tomb entrances,[8] the valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers (ranging in size from KV54, a simple pit, to KV5, a complex tomb with over 120 chambers).[9] It was the principal burial place of the major royal figures of the Egyptian New Kingdom, as well as a number of privileged nobles. The royal tombs are decorated with scenes from Egyptian mythology and give clues as to the beliefs and funerary practices of the period. Almost all of the tombs seem to have been opened and robbed in antiquity, but they still give an idea of the opulence and power of the pharaohs. This area has been a focus of archaeological and Egyptological exploration since the end of the eighteenth century, and its tombs and burials continue to stimulate research and interest. Since the 1920s, the valley has been famous for the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun,[10] and is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. In 1979, it became a World Heritage Site, along with the rest of the Theban Necropolis.[11] Exploration, excavation and conservation continues in the valley, and a new tourist centre has recently been opened.
