MoreBeautiful museum and free of charge.Sadly most buildings are closed so we could only look in the windows
MoreCute place to visit particularly with children. Small place to spend a few hours and enjoy something from the café.
MoreCool
Very pretty
Nice
You are so beautiful
Nice to visit during weekends
If you are into the history, then this is a good option
Good moment , its a little place with some animals. Nice for childrens and adults .I appreciate the Tables available to eat outside 🌸
MoreContrary to “national” open air museums like Skansen, this museum recreates buildings from a single locale (Västmanland). This makes the museum balanced and believable. On a Wednesday in October, the buildings were closed and there was no particular program. Still walking around the village and seeing the live farm animals was a pleasant experience.
MoreThis is a great place to go with small kids. Completely free to enter and walk around. A number of animals on show, and depending on day or season, classic Swedish buildings to go into a see how life was previously. Shop opening right now has been limited due to covid, but when open there are a number of nice stores to wander around. A nice cafe and seating in the main square is a fantastic stop off when the weather us good. The midsommar celebrations are a goid thing to visit for as well. Heartily recommend a visit.
MoreVery good exposition and atmosphere. Lack of labels and texts in English is a serious drawback. I couldnt understand 90% of all the information panels.
MorePerfect 👌
Always interesting and timeless.
Cute area with adorable animals, nice café. Opportunity to learn about history and animals. Mostly for families.
MoreSwedens old farmers history buildings and animals and live actors in classic costumes from the past. Very popular around midsummer, open every day all year long. Markets with silver jewelry 💍 and other accessories everything handmade on spot.
MoreVery nice museum, free entry some animals but expected more maybe because its summer!
MoreVery nice outdoor cultural heritage site. Very good cafe/restaurant. Lots of animals and old buildings.Worth a visit.
MoreLarge place to walk but there are only few number of animals
great for family with small kids
Open air museum with historical homes and Swedish animals. Free entry. There’s a nice cafe serving tasty coffee and pastries.
MoreBrilliant small viking village by the water.
My family and I had a great time at the Christmas market. It was interesting to learn about the Swedish Christmas culture and the kinda food serve on the eve of Christmas.
MoreGreat reflection on Swedish outdoor life! Very good restaurant too!!
Always a good, simple small outing. Kids love it. +Animals +Outdoors +Free
Its like walking in to old Västerås. With buildings and craftmanship from hundreds of years ago.A good place for families.
MoreYou know, it is just lovely here. It is grandma village house right next to city that you never had opportunity to visit. And it’s for free! Animals are taken good care of, they all look clean and healthy! The museum-houses are pretty packed with old-times stuff, however, there could be a little bit more information in English provided. Museum is doing events and fairs according to the celebrations, what is awesome. Place is kids and dogs-friendly, there is caffe for fika to buy.
MoreBeautiful natural area with old buildings and a history. Here you can discover animals and swedish history with friends and family.
MoreIt is nice place for the kids. There is small restaurant in the center of the village. You can have a coffe or you can enjoy in traditional swedish cousine.
MoreGreat place to spend some time, surrounded by beautiful domestic animals, old buildings, nice and interesting people. Its free, and you should bring your kids to learn something about that way of living
MoreThis is a "must see" if you visit Västerås. Farm animals and buildings from days past.
MoreLove this place!! Lovely surroundings, interesting houses and cute animals. Food is yummy too! The people dressed up add so much to the experience, especially if you are there with kids. A must-see when in Västerås :)
MoreThis museum represents the real life accommodation conditions of hundreds of years ago. You can imagine how people live and when you are in the house or the gardens. It is a good education about regional lifestyle of Västerås
MoreGreat place to spend a day, very interesting and pleasant to walk around with well informed guides living in the houses that Ive been relocated here
MoreCute place to walk around and the restaurant has great food. Only thing that bothered me last time I was there was that there was stinging nettles everywhere so couldnt let my child have as close a look at all the animals as normal.
MoreMany places were closed 🙁 I still had fun though
Nice place to walk around
its a great place for a picnic and have a little relaxation time for both the kids and parents. and its free!
MoreYou get an historical experience of how Swedish buildings have looked in the past along with many cute animals, which makes this is a very nice place to visit for both adults and children. The place is also free to enter and free to park at.
MoreI love this place. The atmosphere is one of down-to-earth, get-on-with-it kind of feeling. They keep old traditions alive.
MoreA very pleasant freeze frame of olden Swedish times. Visit the animals and see the old but well preserved buildings!
MoreNice and peacefull place that is for free. Old Swedish buildings and farm animal. Perfect for a walk with small kids.
MoreWonderful place to be with kids, at all times of the year!
Yes, a good place to visit if you are interested in old, rural, Swedish buildings, not so much activity showing how things where done.
MoreWas nice even in winter when most was closed. Gaggerska gården was really great.
MoreVery nice place to visit if you want to see how it used to be in Sweden back in the days.
MoreGreat experience for the whole family. We did a guided tour with a group of seven. The guide told about the history as if it was today. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of humour made it a wonderful and educative experience.Afterwards we sat in the garden for a lunch at the local restaurant, Wärdshuset Gaggeska Garden. Good food and great services with a smile. Whatever your age, if you are in a pram or wheelchair, with a group or family or just the two of you? Go and visit the Vallby Open Air Museum. You love it!
MoreNice place to visit and have a look back to history. I loved the staff were dressed up in costumes and played their roles.
