Valhalla Macadamia Farm - Tourist attraction in Ciudad Vieja, Guatemala
The tour was wonderful and so interesting, lovely little face massage at the end as well. Food was delicious but thought the portions were a little big, wanted to finish but couldnt. All staff were so friendly and helpful.
A really beautiful place, they have amazing projects, I really enjoy the tour and the restaurant was delicious, thank you!The macademia was the best that I ever ate
Very nice experience. Good food friendly service.
Relax and peaceful restaurant with many good options in food and drinks.
Excellent tour: short and sweet. Our guide greeted us upon entry and we jumped straight in. No fee, you are just expected to tip and/or to buy something from the gift store.Macadamias are incredible, best we ever had. Food in the restaurant was great, waffles were delicious. Restaurant prices are high end for antigua standard. We took an Uber to and from town, got some macadamias, two soaps, had lunch and spent $50 in total. Reasonable considering the quality. They only lost one star because of the product packaging: excessive and unnecessary plastic. This goes against their philosophy which was repeated throughout the tour and printed on all their materials "protecting the planet is out religion".Ideas to replace the plastic:Macadamias can be packed in paper + PLA pouches.Soap does not really need packaging at all, maybe just tie the string around it with the paper card. Otherwise a paper box would be just fine.Lastly, menú design is absolutely awful. Please hire a graphic designer to fix it.
They offer a free tour for anyone and it is amazing! We were shown around by a very kind lady and learned about the project as well as the macadamia nut itself. The farm is a bit of a secret spot but definitely worth a visit. There is an on-site Restaurant and shop which both evolve around macadamia nuts.
Perfect little half day trip to explore Antiguas surroundings. Free pick up in Antiguas city center, 30 min drive to the farm followed by a small free tour. Of course, they are happy to sell some macadamia products or get something ti eat in the restaurant, but no need to do that. Very interesting experience and would always recommend.
I loved this tour! The place is incredibly wholesome and I learned a lot. It’s donation based but after the tour, it’s hard not to want to buy everything. They’re super generous and the tour includes tastings and a facial. The tour can be provided in English and they accept card payments.
Highly recommend a visit here for the short tour and the take-away food. The impact that the farm has on the Guatemalan community is incredible and I learned a lot in just the short tour.We also bought some macadamia nuts (the freshest ever!and macadamia butter to bring home. So good!
The only organic macadamia farm in Central America. Committed to sustainable practices. Has over 300 varieties on site. Makes and sells a wide range of products from oils, to soaps, to sweets. Also a tremendous restaurant. Bilingual staff. Play area for kids. Tours of the grounds. They donate trees around Central America to empower people and communities every part of the tree and nut can be used so it provides a sustainable income and nutritious addition to their diets.
We LOVED this place! The restaurant was excellent- Best egg, bacon and avocado sandwich EVER. The tour was interesting and free! After the tour we were offered a complimentary facial that was wonderful.Great experience all around.
Great to see the farm and production. However the chocolates sold are not like the samples given which was disappointing.Lunch was underwhelming. The apps were brought out at the same time as the mains. The beans that accompanied the chicken had bacon in which I dont eat.
Amazing experience. The food is amazing and they make and sell the best macadamia products, for skincare and to eat.
Short but sweet tour of the farm.
Lovely place! Nice small tour, amazing products and food! Very green and they really use everything from the macadamia nuts. Great to see such a beautiful project.
The macadamia blueberry waffles (and pancakes!are to die for. Amazing experience touring the property and finishing with the most incredible breakfast. And yes the bathroom really is spectacular
Loved it. Tour is about 15 minutes long and you donate in the tip jar - no fee. There is a lovely, short face massage with their macadamia face oil and cream included - again .. donations in form of tipsHad coffee, fresh juice and waffles with egg, bacon and maple syrup and it was delish!
Very pleasant day trip, great short tour and free macadamia oil facial. Food was fantastic. Kids had a great time relaxing in the hammocks
Great place with a great mission. Enjoy some fried pickles in macadamia flour, then get a personalized tour of the property and the process.
A beautifully maintained farm, the restaurant served delicious pancakes made with organic macadamia nut flour. The staff was fantastic and our tour guide was well informed and a great communicator. This is the only organic macadamia farm in Latin America and a jewel for Guatemala.
Delicious food, great tour. We wanted everything on the menu but settled on macadamia nut ravioli and pancakes.Gorgeous property and super cool bathroom. Staff is friendly and service is great. They also sell oils and soaps and lotions etc. They accept credit card. Quick 15 min Uber outside of Antigua. Not to be missed!
Very nice place and tour for free. You take a bus to San Miguel Dueñas and get off here, ride costs 14 QTG each direction. The tour guide is nice and explains interesting things, the place is calm and nice.
Excellent food and service. This location helps the community with items the make at this location. Such as chocolate nuts and other items.
Amazing food and a free tour afterwards. Definitely worth seeing and you HAVE to check out the bathroom!
The tour was very informative and the face massage was amazing. Everything that we ordered in the restaurant was delicious. About the best barbecue we have ever had!
The tour is very quick lived. Maybe 15 minutes. Educational but extremely short and in very large groups. Then they introduce the products they have for sale, another 10 minutes. They offer some good products and samples of everything they sell. I wouldnt go again for the tour but it was free. BUT WOW their restaurant? The menu was so hard to choose from bc everything sounds AMAZING but I went for the blueberry macadamia nut pancakes and they were the some of the best pancakes Ive ever had. By far the best I have tried since being in Guatemala. If you love good food, go here! You will not be disappointed. Plus its beautiful.
Only a quick 15-minute Uber ride from Antigua, this Farm offers succulent selections from their menu--with the added bonus of the food being macadamia-infused or inspired. Before or after your meal, one of the employees may offer you a quick tour of the farm and will show you around the trees, the drying process, and the separation process. At the end of the tour, you will get a quick but relaxing facial massage that uses macadamia oil. All of the preceding is free, and you are not expected to tip. (But do so, anyway!)The store also offers macadamia nut cookies and other macadamia products like soap and oils.
What a neat way to brunch! We started with the food at Valhalla and we’re not disappointed. Large portions, good selection, and incredibly delicious. I had the macadamia nut pesto and it was divine. After brunch, we took a tour of the farm where we learned about their sustainability and commitment to helping less fortunate communities.
Enjoyed a morning at Valhalla.Really appreciated the tour to get to know a bit more in depth about the production of Macadamia nuts. After the tour youre also offered a facial massage using the oils from the nuts. They also let you try the nuts (with and without chocolate🤤).They have a restaurant and the menu is really full of macadamia influenced dishes which was nice to see.We had the pancakes. They were tasty but very pricey.
I just walked in and asked for a tour, they gave me a private tour right on the spot, and at no cost. The product is good and has great spot to chill, get some food or a facial. Its the kind of place that makes you want to come back.
Just Gorgeous! The tour was so interesting!!! Lunch was delicious!
Was very interesting and amazing place the macadamia nuts are the best Ive ever tasted and thats just the beginning there is so much more to this farm, you fall in love with everything we did.
Very interesting tour around the farm. The restaurant was very nice.
Delicious food, amazing staff and service, and a great overall experience. The best part is how sustainable the project is and how supportive they are with the community.
We had a fantastic experience here. Great to find out they had gluten free pancakes available, follow it up with a really well done English tour of the farm and a free face massage using macadamia oil.Would recommend buying something from the gift shop as the tour and massage are free. We caught an Uber from Central Antigua to get there and a 4Q chicken bus back. Such a lovely morning and way to see another part of the country and support an initiative thats giving back by giving macadamia trees to locals so they can have an income.
Valhalla or the Vikings home as I like to call it hahaha, is an incredible project, where the philosophy is take care of planet earth. The food is so delicious and most importantly everything is made of organic ingredients, even the toilet is a garden! Totally recommended if youre looking for a new experience with a different perspective of life.
Adding a visit here to your things to do list is a must. Come early and enjoy an amazing breakfast or lunch. The food is simply amazing. I would rate the pancakes as hands down the best i have ever tasted. The omelettes are equally impressive so you really cant go wrong.Beyond the food the farm is doing amazing things with a focus off helping indigenous families so take a tour, enjoy a meal and relax in the beauty of the farm.
Great food and service. The place is surrounded by nature and the macadamia plantation.
One of my favorite activities in Antigua. They offer a short but free tour of the farm where you learn about how the nuts grow and are prepared. Order the macadamia nut pancakes at the restaurant. They are delicious! (Theres a small dessert size, so even if youre not hungry, try them anyway.)
In this place you can enjoy of the nature and buy macadamia chocolate at the little store, they also provide relaxing massage with natural products.
One of very few organic farms in Guatamala. Free tours and 5 min facial, they recommend tips afterwards, if you enjoyed it. Restaurant food is lovely...served in the gardens. Pancakes and smoked ribs were fantastic. Great environmental message.
We had a brief tour at this organic macadamia farm it was an eye opening and pleasant experience. They do not force any part of the macadamia process but just let nature take its course. At the end of the tour, they offer to sample macadamia beauty products on you for free (off course a tip is encouraged). I got a macadamia oil facial. My face looked so supple after 😊! What a fun time!
Worth a visit. Make sure you take the complimentary your to truly enjoy the place. The smoothies were beautiful, food looked good, but we didnt try. The ethos of the place is excellent and the staff are great.
We had some time left in Antigua, and we decided to visit this macademia farm. We are very glad that we went to this fabulous place. It is a quiet and cosy place with a lot of macademia trees. We did the free tour, free facial massage and we had some delicious macademia pancakes. We tip the people well because they do a great job and help local people. Love the farm, would definitely recommend it
Did a short tour of the place with a friendly lady from the staff explaining everything and enjoyed a facial massage afterwards. All is for free - but tips are more than appreciated! You can shop some macadamia products, just relax there surrounded by trees and eat some e.g. pancakes and ice cream
Loved the tour, and the friendly staff. I must admit Costa Rica smokes the macadamia competition , but this farm was pretty unique, mom and pops owned, and the staff was very friendly.
Beautiful relaxed place for a delicious breakfast. We had awesome blueberry pancakes with macadamia in the garden. They do macadamia tours, which might be interesting and sell all kinds of stuff made with macadamia oil
Quite alright, interesting processes, nice guide and view from the top, however the concrete ruins the panorama of the volcanoes
Great experience! Highly recommend if you have 2-3 hours to spare. Recommend Uber to and from the farm unless you really want the Chicken Bus experience (4q - headed towards duertejust tell them "Las Macadamias". You will dropped on the side of a road with the farm across the street. The farm is amazing. They have a full shop selling all kinds of macadamia products from oils to cookies. The restaurant was amazing. The pancakes are everything youve read already. Great experience would go again.
Beautiful place, nice food and lovely dogs. And we cant wait to try the macadamia oil products we purchased.
