VEGE CREEK蔬河 - Vegan restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Vege creek is a fantastic vegan place. The self select vegetable noodle is addictive in taste and great for health. With multiple branches, this one is actually a smaller outlet! This one is in a narrow lane so parking is tough
The concept of vege creek is fresh and delicious. Great choice of vegetables and soy based meats. As a non vegetarian, the meat replacements are really tasty and the soup base is amazing. Unique
Loved this place. Easily choose your own ingredients, good flavor, good variety. Additional sauces to add if needed. Friendly staff. And a great acoustic playlist over the speakers. We also liked the long table setting. I’ll be returning next time I’m in Taipei.
Vegetarian Chinese herb LU WEISimple & clean
Really nice atmosphere and fun way to pick your ingredients. The broth is the real highlight - not overly salty but fills all the ingredients with a nice flavor. All the extra add-ons you can throw into the broth are really good, too. The toona was a bit confusing, though.Besides the food, I also wish proper soup spoons were available. Its barely possible to enjoy the broth as much without a proper 湯匙 :/
Pricier than similar local options but the simple decor is elegant and warm. You choose packets of protein (mostly tofu variations), greens and fungi. Then hand them to the person at the counter and choose your noodles. Wait for them to cook your noodle soup and add from the wider variety of sauces and toppings to taste provided at the counter. I added toona sauce only to realise Ive had it before in other Taiwanese dishes but didnt know what it was called. Over all a nice experience.
Ridiculously good...very fresh, tasty, and healthy build your own meal!!!!
Vege Creek serves vegan soup in a hip atmosphere. You can choose all the ingredients yourself and add some extra sauces and spices on top (try the peanut/sesame sauce! Its deliciousThe staff speaks English and the neighborhood is full of stylish cafés, restaurants and bars.
The best vegetarian restaurant in Taipei, the soup is super good
If you are familiar with the concept of Yong Tau Fu, this is basically the more hipster version of that. The food is great, healthy, and vegetarian, the ambience is great, and I love the fact that there’s just one big table. What really makes this five stars though, is the staff. Being served by someone who genuinely seems to be enjoying life fully happens only once in a while.
Excellent vegetarian ramen! The concept is slightly weird, but the staff is nice and helpful, the veggies are fresh, the fake meat is excellent and the prices are reasonable (considering the location ). Been there three times in one week, so I guess I would recommend it :)
My new favorite vegetarian lunch in Taipei! You select what you want from a nice little wooden pantry, including vegetables from the wall, then the chef lightly cook all in a Taiwanese soup base in front of you in an open kitchen. A great modern update to something I used to enjoy at night markets (far less healthy version). Highly recommended and will be back!
Really enjoyed eating here. At least 6 kinds of noodles and soo many add-ins; vegetables, proteins, greens, sauces. Nice staff. Would eat again.
Wow such a cool place for vegan food. It’s sort of like Chipotle where you build your own bowl. Start with selecting your noodle type and then start grabbing stuff to add into your soup. Watch what you grab, because you can easily go overboard. A few other locations throughout Taipei.
Best vege creek in Taipei! Ill make a trip to this location just for the beautiful atmosphere they got going on, really adds to the overall great veggie noodle soup experience.
Always satisfying! Clean and delicious feeling. Love the non-fried noodles (a more Q texture than regular ramenplus soy meat, bean curd sheet, mixed mushrooms, and plenty of fresh green vegetables! Sauces provided- favorites are garlic sauce, toona sauce, and sour-sweet plum vinaigrette dressing! Prices vary depending on how many toppings you order but my bills are usually around 150ntd. Wait times usually 5-7 minutes approx. Big wooden communal seating table and self -serve water~ also sell branded white mug and tote bag :)Please note they dont have a bathroom and are fairly small! Also do takeout and can use self-brought homeware~
Great concept, lovely taste, friendly service and kinda cheap.
Get a shopping bag and pick what you want, its interesting vegan noodle shop, tasty too
I love the idea. Basically vegan lu wei. The vegetables and noodles are always cooked to perfection. I love the ginger sauce and the variety of sauces they provide for you to personalize your bowl of soup noodles.
If you are a vegetarian in Taipei, this is a place you definitely need to try out.You can pick your own vegetables and kind of noodles, they all cook it on the spot. Its super healthy, tasty, and the store carries out its environment all friendly mindset through out the experience.Inexpensive and full of positive energy, this is my go to spot for eating healthy in Taipei.
It’s great to have such a great place in Taipei city. The sauces is wonderful you have to try different one.
Great experience! Fresh veges to choose from on the wall, good friendly staff and service. Nice environment to enjoy a tasty self-picked ingredients meal. One of our fav restaurant during our trip.
Its a interpretation of the modern noodles stall - good food but with higher prices and an upmarket feel. You step in, pick up a shopping bag and choose whatever vegetables you like. You also need to decide what kind of noodles you like - ramen, instant noodles, flat noodles etc. There are many selections of fresh vegetables on a vertical stand.Once you are done with the selections, you go to the counter and pay, then wait for your dish to be cooked. Its a shared table and free seating. The place is small so avoid peak periods.Unfortunately there is only one soup base. No choices. The soup base goes into all the noodle bowl. Thankfully its really delicious and not salty at all.The only real.downside is the price. Every small item you pick up costs about 20NT. To make up a decent bowl of noodles would set you back by around 160NT.Still it is aively place for vegetarians, especially if you like Asian noodles.
Whatever you’re doing right now is less important than eating at this restaurant. It’s so good. This is a chill spot. Build your own, & it’s around $150-$220 per person/per bowl. They take cash only.
For anyone who is vegan, I’d definitely would recommend this place! Since I have two vegan friends, I’m always down to try new vegan food (plus, I love how healthy it makes me feel! The restaurant is hidden in an alleyway but not too difficult to find if you’re using Google maps. The place isn’t too small, but be mindful that there are only communal seats meaning everyone shares one long table. How this place works is that you first choose your ingredients, such as noodles and greens, then you give it to the person who will cook your meal - so it’s kind of like a luwei but more sanitary if you know what I mean. You just need to wait for your meal to be cooked up and then you can choose how you’d like to season your dish. I was very surprised that my meal didn’t cost too much considering specialty restaurants such as vegan places tend to be on the pricer end.The broth was light but flavourful and you can tell that the ingredients are high quality. It def felt like a very homey meal, which I always appreciate! 10/10 would come back again!
One of my favourite vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Taipei. The broth is super tasty on its own, plus you can add several different condiments. Just be careful as the ingredients can add up very quickly, and you might end up spending a lot more than you meant to!
Nice and great taste, the place is also comfortable with simple design, recommended
A little expensive for what it is, which is basically street style 滷味. Rare to find a vegetarian option like this though, so four stars. Broth and veggies are tasty; wish they didnt use small plastic bags for each individual veggie portion.
Veggie deliciousness***** Healthy vegetarian assorted soup dish that you get to pick your own ingredients and types of noodle.Minimalistic atmosphere, yet rich in flavor and varieties. Sitting might be limited but not much of a waiting; plus you can order to take out too.
Very unique concept whereby you get to select the ingredients for your bowl! The food taste great and the shop has nice ambience too. Superb experience!
This is a special kind of vegetarian restaurant, serving only 素食滷味 braised veges, dofu and noodles. The ingredients are braised in a special Chinese herbal soup, topped with optional seaweed. In addition, guests can pick from a selection of sauces and seasonings.
One of the best locations! I love this chain. Everything is fresh and delicious! I like my luwei dry with generous scoops of the ginger and toon sauces, a drizzle of ponzu and sesame oil, and lots of sesame seeds. Highly recommended!
Great food, cool concept. The only thing was that when we entered, this place felt like entering a company meeting instead of entering a restaurant. And the staff could have been warmer too.
Absolutely delicious food served with a beautiful ambience. Pick your own veggies / tofu / mushrooms / noodles and served in a delicious broth. Cost 280 for 2. Will come again!
Terrific concept, good food. You build your own bowl from fresh ingredients and its cooked while you wait. Seating is one long table, Max capacity about 12. Jazz musical ambiance.
I like the concept here of grabbing the ingredients you want and having the staff cook it for you in their broth. This place is vegan so no meats at all. Good place for those who want to eat light. I wouldve gave this place a rating of 4, but I really didnt appreciate that they wrap the ingredients in their own plastic bags as just presentation, only having to be thrown away after one use. Really not eco friendly.
One of my favourite veggies restaurant in town. Its based on Taiwanese luwei, you pick your own topping and they will put it in a hot soup pot, and you can have them fresh! Pick you oen noodle too! Its super healthy and tasty, friendly staffs, too! 5 stars indeed!
Really good Vegetarian noodle place, with a choose your own system of fresh ingredients. Great tasting broth with generous portions. Expect to spend around $180 for a full helping, but you can always opt to spend less. Highly recommend!
Very interesting system of picking your ingredient & have them cook it for you fresh, everyone can have a unique dish! Also, lovely setup of large wooden table for everyone to sit around.Price: Reasonable(185 NTD for me, 240 for my friend)Atmosphere: Unique, Cozy & HipFood: Very delicious & quite filling, fresh, just a nice experienceService: Quick, helpful. We went on a Sunday night, pretty crowded, but managed to grab a seat. Staff were helpful & showed us the system at the restaurant.
Tasty soups, decent prices, but lots of unnecessary packinging material. You can choose from a large variety of vegetables, tofu, greens and noodles for your soup. They also offer a range of spices to season your soup. I really just dislike the fact that every ingredient you pick is packaged separately, although they use plant-based plastic bags, it is still unnecessary resource use. Other than that a great place to eat a healthy and filling meal.
Amazing broth, pick what veggies and noodles you want. Incredibly tasty and healthy meal.
Pick Your Veggies, they will turn it into a delicious bowl of goodness for you. Vegetables are very fresh and interesting selection. Also have a large verity to noodles to add to you bowl. Small shop, only 12 seats on communal table and few bar seats. ☘️
Surprisingly I had great experience with DIY vegetable noodle, make sure you dont pick up too many bags~ 4-6 should b good.
A nice place for vegan ramen (or several other types like gluten-free rice noodlesyou compose your dish yourself, then its being cooked for you. The place is not very big, so you might have to wait a bit to be seated - depending on the time of the day.
The best vege food Ive ever had. Gonna be here often.
Food is so healthy and good! Love it !
Great vegan food ... one of my favorites in Taipei.very quick prepared ... the real fast food but still healthy ;)also very stylish shop and really friendly staff.Luv it!
Great vegetarian noodles. Build your own bowl from a wall of many kinds of greens, choose a token to represent 5 types of noodles, add from a wall of all sorts of tofu, fake meatballs, rice balls, fresh veggies and mushrooms.Dont miss the compliments available at the dining table, from the ginger paste to the pesto.
The place is so cool!!! A vegan luwei (滷味restaurant, specially designed.A long high wooden table in the middle of the space. Customers all sit at the same table with other customers. I felt a little weird and strange at first, but then I knew this kind of arrangement of seats broke down the distance with other people, making customers feel they were back to the old days when people were so close to one another even though they didnt know each other.Walls are grey with the concrete. Along the walls stood shelves holding all kinds of ingredients for you to choose from. Many kinds veges. Tofu. Seaweed. Vegetarian meat. Bean curd. Many kinds of noodles including instant noodles and egg noodles, perhaps vermicelli (I forgot)You choose what u want and pay and wait for the cooking. Oh u have to find a seat first because it is so packed and customers come in like water. The place can only seat about 20 people I think, so it is not good for chatting. However, the atmosphere is really great. The broth of the luwei (滷味tastes so good, so no wonder the food is so tasty. There are so many kinds of interesting seasonings but I didnt need any of them because it tasted good enough.I can never forget such an awesome and special dining experience. It is the coolest restaurant I have ever been.P.S. Takeaway is also available.
Im glad that I found this vegetarian gem! Get your greens with a whole selection of fresh vegetables, you can choose your own ingredients, just like in a market. Price varies depending on items, theres also 5 types of noodles for your selection. Although, you might want to go there earlier for dinner as the crowd comes in pretty quick, as theres limited space provided. Overall, worth the visit!
