Usri Falls in Barki Saria

Usri is very famous among Bengalis for one reason being that the famous fictional character "Prof Shanku" created by legend Satyajit Ray used to stay in Giridih and take a stroll by the Usri river. The waterfall is worth visiting specially during or post monsoon. One can take a dip in Usri as well.

Very good place for a weekend trip. We started from Dhanbad railway station and it took 1 and half hour to reach.

An amazing place to visit in Giridih. You can hire an auto to visit this place. Around 10 to 12 km from Giridih Railway Station. Not falling from a great height but the width is good. The surrounding is full of greenery. Return before 4pm.

If you are nature lover and a bengali who knew about Satyajit Rays Fictious character Prof. Shonku and his residence in Giridih then you may get goosebump, I got too.. apparently, the area to visit this falls is less for larger footfall and the stones are very risky to walk up on.. although we sat on one of a big stone for hours long and enjoyed the sound of falling water and ambience of the place. Please note that there is a parking fee of Rs. 50/- and there is no permanent shops available, recommending to bring food of your own. Happy touring ✌️

Its a nice place for a family trip

It is a very nice 👌🏻 place to spend enjoying FALLS,BY ALL age group of people. But due to shortfall of rain, this year flow of water is not so attractive as it was.

The Usri River, a tributary of the Barakar River, flows down a steep gorge. The Usri Falls drop some 12 metres (39 ftin three separate streams. It is surrounded by dense forest.[4]The character of the gneissic complex of this region is well exposed. Some of the rocks have been split up into blocks of huge dimension whose polished and clean surfaces have been chequered by veins of various hues. The profile of the river bed changes after passing through the falls. The lower portion is mostly flat, slightly undulating, which gives way to gorge like form.[6] The government has taken several steps to develop the area as a prominent tourist spot along with Khandoli Dam and ParasnathAwesome place must visit for photography and beautiful view of nature

Good place. But people are making the place dirty by throwing plastic bottles and plates here and there.

The fall is not very good. The place itself is not maintained and not so clean as well. This is simply a picnic spot. As got to know from a local person that winter like December & January are the best time to visit.

Surrounded in the heart of tundi forest... Best time to visit in the month of December and January ...one can find hear all around greanary and peace

Its good place as a sightseeing near Shikhar ji. We visited their at the very next day when we was completed our vandana at Shikhar ji

This fall is situated in Usri river near Giridih in Jharkhand. This waterfall reminds us about the Sahaj Path of Rabindranath Tagore.

Its one of the off beat location near Deoghar. Marvelously beautiful atmosphere because of such expanded waterfall named Usri. If its not in your list. Definitely add it. You will bless me. Believe me.

If u really like fun. Just go this place but be aware of depth near fall. Its dangerous.

The beaty of this place is breathtaking😍 Bt the lack of any dustbins for tourist to throw waste into nd the lack of care taken by the management has led to piling up garbage near the banks nd all over the place.

I was not ancipitating Usri Falls to be a place of expectation but when I reached there, I was like Wow. The river sides are lusher with greenery and shiny rocks. The waterfall sound will attract you like anything. You can even play around in the fall. This place is full of tourist during winters.

The Usri river is a tributary of Barakar river. distance from Giridih town to Usri falls is 12 km on Tundi road. The area around Usri falls is surrounded by dense forest. Best time to visit the water fall is moonson. Please avoid the picnic season bcoz of unwanted crowd & noise. No permanent food court is there, only local vendors are selling ice cream, jhal muri, Biscuits , packed water etc.

Wonderful place...best season is last rainy season and first winter

Visited the falls just after monsoon, so witnessed tremendous flow of water. Seven streams were clearly visible. Awesome experience! Could touch the water and really enjoyed.

Must say it was more awesome than I had heard of it. Must be because of the weather and day in which I visited. As it was raining in last day so a lot of water flow on waterfall that day.Could be a good Picnic spots with proper arrangements.Roads to this place is quite good and not too far away from the city Jharkhand.Situated approximately 40km from dhanbad and is better the roads connecting dhanbad to Giridih.

Around 12 kms away from town this is truly a gem. Not very developed while the scope is huge to develop as a tourist attraction. Gets very crowded during occasions but during normal days there is hardly more than 10-20 people. Carry a bedsheet to sit and some food as well since there are no shops around except for bhelpuri. No entry charges except for parking.

Naturally beautiful place to spend time with ur family nd love ones .....easily accessible...recommended to take your own food( as there is nothing to eat except chips ...As the place is isolated the locals are there , though they dont interfere with anyone( they are on the go of making some bucks)...be aware of the water levels in monsoon as it rises suddenly( dont go at the banks)...Serene , peaceful nd secluded place..Must visit💯

Usri falls is a waterfall where you can enjoy as picnic.When you visit shikhar ji , u can go to visit usri falls as they are not too far.And also dont forget to go to palganj mandir to see parasnath prabhu pratima.

Naturally beautiful fallMostly people visit here in vacation, holiday, new year, festival, raining seasons.However, you can enjoy here in all the seasons.Thinks to take care before visiting here..As pandemic go on, you cant find any shop, small restaurant. So, please carry your food, snacks and water.As local have not much source of income they will ask you some money...please give any amount you like...10,20...#About placeI am visiting this place from last 20 years and it change a lot...government are trying to make this more beautiful. So more visitors will come..However, there is not much maintenance for safety.So dont be smart here...enjoy waterfall, spend go home safely.I have also add recent photo and videos. Dangerously Beautiful ❤️Waterfall good in rainy season. Small area. Choose an odd time to avoid crowd. Local place hence you might find local boys drinking and smoking there by the fall. If you ignore them you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall and the weather by luck. No much of a commercial place. No shops around. Just hawkers and local people would expect some money from your visit. Be ready to pay them some. I liked my visit. Good for a long drive. Good road and perfect gateway!

Very nice place to visit. It is a nice tourist spot. Water is cool and clean. Toilets are also clean. However, Government should maintain it. There should be a canteen too.

Usri falls in Jharkhand explores a charming scenic beauty. It has an exceptional opportunity to reach and find out the source of the falls. The source is on the small foothill where a big Banyan Tree extendes its branches widely. It adds a new dimension to the experience of the viewer when they can relate to the book they read in childhood. Tagore wrote in "Sohoj Path"... "Will go to see the falls on the river Usri."

We are now in Deoghar. Our two families consists of five senior citizens intend to visit Usri Falls. And so with the help of Nandan, manager of Hotel Ganga Cottage, hired a four wheeler, Scorpio, @ RS.2800/- for the tour.We started at 9.00 AM. It was a pleasant journey. About 90% of the road was very smooth and the greeneries around our way were very much beautiful. We reached at Usri Falls at about 12 OClock after spending 45 minutes at Buroi, a spectacular location.Usri is about a distance of 72 KM from Deoghar.Usri Falls is a wonderful waterfall situated in Giridih area in the Indian territory of Jharkhand. It is a well known visitor and excursion spot. The Usri River, a tributary of the Barakar River, streams down a precarious canyon. The Usri Falls drop around 12 meters 39 ft in three separate streams.It is surrounded by dense forest. Some of the rocks have been split up into blocks of huge dimension whose polished and clean surfaces have been chequered by veins of various hues. Hours after hours might be go away by just observing the beauty of the Falls. It was a grand experience.

Its a treat to anyones eye. Its a beautiful place. But the local body or administration should come forward and do something for tourists so that they can stay there and enjoy the Usri falls at day and night.

Beautiful place to visit....bt there is no drinking water and food facilities available...the view was very nice.... the water flow continues the whole year but it January the flow is high....

Excellent place for a days outing. But the local tourists have made this place a local dustbin. There were garbages all over the place when I visited the place. However, the scenic beauty of this place is just fantastic.

It a like a waterfall. It is the usri fall. It is interesting place. In giridih this and khandolii is only place to visit once a time. In rainy season water level increases due to which it become dangerous. Normally water level is average. The Scence is very nice. There is a fall which is heart of this place.

It is a very popular and beautiful tourist destination which is few km away from Giridih. Accessible by car or two wheeler. visited in Dec and Jan,still there is enough water. Road leads to the falls is very good.The fall is situated on the river Usri.The mesmirizing and beautiful fall attracts the visitors.
