100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608, United States, Vernon
Sprawling amusement park with a cinema theme, featuring rides, restaurants, shops & shows.
Some cool stuff to see and do. Do not recommend for big people. If your above 325 lbs you might not be able to even get on half the rides. Had to wait for my family multiple times since I couldn’t fit in the rides. Also you can run through this park in a day and do all the rides easily so don’t book multiple days unless you just want to shop/ride same rides over again.
Universal studios Hollywood is a must visit amusement park. You easily need a whole day to explore it thoroughly, do not miss the studio tour, it is the most under rated ride but has the best hands on experience. Finding vegetarian food could be a task but overall the vibe and theme is a big check. Also carry extra pair of clothes/swim costumes if you wish to go to aqua-world/rides. You are not going to regret going here. Have fun!
Amazing place to go and feel the hollywood.. I love this place! They always keep updating the attractions. There is a significant variety of food options to choose from. I would definitely try to avoid going there on the weekend if possible, especially during spring break. It gets super busy. But the thing that I love the most about this part is how efficient everything is. Compared to other theme parks such as Magic Mountain, the people that work here are very good at making sure everything stays organized and moves quickly. Customer service is outstanding, if not exceptional. Everyone is very friendly. I would definitely recommend getting an express pass, especially on the weekend. It will save you a lot of time and misery, especially in the summer. Definitely recommend visiting here
I went to the Halloween Horror Nights here and bought the RIP ticket, it was well worth the price. Valet parking is included in the ticket cost, just make sure you get the ticket validated. Private tour guide with a group of 12 or less in the group. We skip each line, which saves time and are able to see every Haunted House in the park. And, your RIP ticket lets you skip the line unlimited times. Buffet is for the RIP Tour and the food was really delicious.
The park was fun and is pretty much a cheap option to Disneyland in LA. There are just waaay less roller coasters and attractions. It was fun and there is so much to see especially on the tour in the bus. They tell you so many random facts about the actors, movies etc. my favorite was probably Jurassic world. Right now we also got a good deal to be here for two days from 10am-6pm, because we didn’t choose the Halloween option in the evening.
Definitely had a blast. Worlds away from our last experience. Paying for the upgraded express pass is totally worth it. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Thank you universal for really stepping up and delivering a great experience and the value is also great. All the rides were operating and the park was very clean. Well definitely return. Make sure you ride the Harry Potter rides they are great!
The primary reason we came here was because of the Harry Potter ‘world’. This was not a disappointment. My kids 9 and 12 both loved it. The whole ‘thing’ was amazing, and the food was great. I’m not going to lie, we had to save our money for a while for us to afford this, but it was well worth it and any parents that have kids that are ‘into’ the HP world, I highly recommend coming here before they are too old to really enjoy the magic that they have created here. Universal Studios Hollywood is a great place to take the family. I just can’t say enough about this place. 5 stars! we also came in Feb during the super bowl weekend and it was not crowded. I probably shouldnt have said that.
Universal is a unique escape from reality. You can become immersed in different worlds and I encourage you to sit and take a moment in your favorite themed areas to soak it up. The ambiance of each themed area is incredible sitting behind the 3 broomsticks enjoying a cool breeze and sipping frozen butter beer while theme music lightly plays and the castle is in view is like nothing else! Yes of course the rides are fun as well but universal is unique in that even the line for the rides is fun and immersive the ride isnt just lets go fast its lets put you into a story! Incredible 2 days wish I could have stayed longer! Worth every penny!
Loves it as a kid and loved it even more as an adult. My family had such a great time. Did not try any food, but would like to compliment the staff site wide of a wonderful job they do. Will definitely recommend, will definitely be back.
We went on a Monday but park closed at 6pm. We were able to still ride everything. Not a lot of people in the park due to it being a Monday and hours were shorter closing by 6pm .Everything was a walk on with our express pass . Highly recommend you purchase. We had a delicious lunch at the three broomsticks in the Harry Potter section. We still are talking about how good the food was and the price for quality and quantity. We had a frozen butter beer from the Cart earlier so went with a regular butter beer from inside. Both were super delicious.
One of the best experiences i ever had. Everyone living in LA or visiting from abroad should come here and experience the amazing adventure. Some tips:- Come early to avoid long waiting lines- Download the app and plan a route before hand- Almost you will wait in line for every adventure- I suggest you to visit first the ones that you really want to see and experience- Delicious food places- Snacks and fast-food- Some have a single person line, it is smart if it doesn’t matter if you get separated from friends and family and experience the adventure singleMy list:- Harry potter- Universal studio tour- Minions- Jurassic Park- Transformers- Mummy- And food sometime between😁😁Keep in mind that most places close doors at 17:30Highly recommended😊✌️👍You can see pictures of the lines in order to understand how long they are.
Place was nice and fun, the tour is a must.I would increase the number of restaurants a bit, was too crowded and had to wait too long in lines to grab a bite. The boarding to the tour’s bus took ages, the trains arrived but we couldn’t hop on for some reason. The guide on the train was fantastic, an amazing presenter, she made the tour more joyful.
Our family had a fun day here, and I think one day is all you need, especially if you start in the lower lot first. My kids liked Harry Potter world’s rides and the variety of butter beers and my youngest really liked the minion ride. Jurassic park, transformers, and universal tour were also favorites.
Clean environment and attention to detail on every attraction. Went for Horror Nights but went in early to enjoy the park a few hours and lines were 30 minutes or less. Definitely worth visiting as there is a little something for everyone.
My family had a great time here! The rides were good, and the lines werent bad at all. The longest wait time we had was 20 min, and most were less than 5 min. Granted we went on a weekday. Even when you do have to wait, they do a good job of keeping you entertained.I honestly think one of my favorite things was the tour. I loved being able to see the old movie and TV settings. It made me want to work in film! When it comes down to it though, Harry Potter land was the best. Just being able to be immersed in it hits all the right feels. Will go again!
This park is really beautiful! The sets are so beautiful and realistic. I loved all the worlds, the shows, the studio tour. It is to be done once in a lifetime. Its really worth it even though its a little overpriced. The staff of the park are all especially lovely and helpful! We went there on a Tuesday as soon as it opened and we never queued except for one attraction. We will come back without hesitation but this time for the Halloween period.
Great day. The lines for the rides were at most 25 minutes with the longest being an hour. Saw almost all the attractions in a day. Kind of a bummer that they close at 6 pm, but I still had a blast. The Harry Potter ride was by far my favorite. Definitely a must do if coming to LA.
Went for Halloween Horror nights. Really fun! I would say the express pass is worth it if its hot outside if not the lines werent too bad. The Weekend maze was the best one but theyre all really good. Recommend getting the after 2pm pass to get in. You can start getting in mazes much earlier and faster
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT universal Studios. My first official date with my now husband was here April 28th 2012. Ever since they we go every year, it’s become part of our story, which we now share with our 6year old. Every time we go is a date, a honeymoon, it’s a vacation, it’s a getaway, it’s family time. There’s something for the whole family. We went this past Friday. We had previously purchased the online season pass back in April, and this is our 3rd visit since, so far. We were only there for 3hours, and did so much. I can’t wait for super Mario world! They are constantly renovating and incorporating newer rides and attractions. Jurassic world is amazing! We are frequent visitors and will continue to do so, we’ve never had a problem here, staff is always helpful and happy.
Great place to take kids. Lots of rides are simulation rides or virtual roller coasters but are very fun. Lots to see. Some rides take long to wait for. Do the rides in the lower lot first. Lockers there are free for the first 90 minutes. Take the studio tour, so awesome! Try the glazed citrus chicken at the Jurassic Cafe, so good! Get the souvenir drink cup and enjoy refills every 10 minutes. Nice water area for kids to cool off.
Fun with many thrill rides and shows suitable for both kids and adults. I would recommend visiting when the weather is cooler if you can. We visited in august and it was too hot.The express ticket is around 230$ per person. The parking varies between 30$-60$. Pictures are 25$ each or 54$ for all pictures during the day. Not to mention food and drinks and shopping.
The park was absolutely amazing and fun! We had a blast! Must try the Transformer, mummy ride, and Harry Potter inside the castle. Those are the absolute best! I recommend upgrading to the express unlimited tickets. Cost was like $307 each but we did not have any wait times and rode rides back to back and the same people were still standing 1hr plus away after we would pass through like 2 times. We completed the park by 5pm and had arrived at 9:30am. We were only able to do this because we had the express.
My family and I went on Friday and Saturday, we had a great experience watching all the shows and getting on the rides. The Studio Tour was one of the best attractions. They do a very good job with all the shows as well. The Harry Potter area was very well done. Harry Potter and the forbidden journey ride was probably one of the best rides. Revenge of the mummy ride was also a lot of fun! The transformers 3D ride and Jurassic world ride are also some good ones I highly recommend doing. Food and drinks are very expensive, I spent over $300 in one day between snacks and drinks throughout the day for just 3 of us... However, all the employees are very nice and helpful, University Studios is a lot of fun and all of the workers do a great job at making everyones experience fun.
5 stars for the Back Lot tour. If you like movies, youll enjoy this ride.Where the rating goes down is just the absolute weird layout of the park. Feels like you have to walk a mile just to do anything. Overall just an okay park with decent rides....if you can get on them because everyone in LA was there.
Fun family entertainment. Took my family to the park before back to school as a fun vacation. We all enjoyed it and the weather was beautiful. Staff are very helpful. Facility is very clean and there are an abundance of activities for all age groups. Terrific dining options and the Waterworld show was out of this world fun. Would definitely go back again especially for the newly announced Nintendo world exhibit coming in 2023.
Being a Southern California resident for over 18 years I am not new to the theme park scene however Universal has it all. Amazing rides and (knowing when to golimited wait times as well as beautiful scenery and all around upper class enjoyment Universal crushes it!! This is truest clean enjoyable fun for the whole family. You don’t even need to know the movies or TV each attraction is attempting to portray. Being on the pricier side it’s not a daily excursion however for the once in a while outing compared to other similar parks I highly recommend Universal.
It is definitely an experience. I wanted to go because of the tour on the tram car, which was very good. The Water Show was amazing! Its a must see! The Animal show was ok. They moved to fast, meaning that they had the animals running across the stage. It would have been nice to see the animals on stage so we could view them. At one point, it was just chaotic. We are not Harry Potter fans, but we really enjoyed that area! It was nice to walk around and take it all in. The admission was pricey $144.00 at the gate, so you may want to look for discounts before hand. You can spend an entire day there, so go early.
Had a great time here during our familys stay in LA. Havent been to Universal in a while, so it was great to experience all the updates and new rides/attractions. If its in your means to purchase the express package, do it. Your feet will thank you. One hidden gem we found by chance was an overview of Universal with the LA night skyline right behind the mini water park. A great spot to take in before you leave. Will plan to visit park again in the future.
We love Universal Studios!! My boys are always excited to come here. We usually go during the week and the crowds are not too bad. The wait times are minimal. The food is pricey but pretty good as far as theme parks go. We will be returning soon!!
Had a blast at this park. Went in with general admission tickets, but quickly changed them to express passes. Well worth it. Did multiple rides various time with hardly any wait. Wish theme park offered more rides, but soon (2023will have another. Perfect for families and all ages. Planning another trip soon again.
First time here and it was magical! All the staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The park is fairly easy to navigate with the front/back lots and the upper/lower lots. We were able to go to every attraction and show and each was unique and fun. This park has lots of fun for all ages. It’s important to note that unlike the other universal studios this one has a huge lot tour, where you’re able to see different sound stages and behind the scenes sets. Due to this, they have less thrilling rides compared to other locations. Highly recommend coming here and would also highly suggest the express pass to bypass the lines!
Definitely a must visit place for all movie buffs. Harry Potter ride is the best of all.Head to the park early in the morning before 9 am so that you can enjoy the rides without the crowd. Also you can do the ride multiple times. It you have an express pass, do not use it unless there is a lot of wait time. You can go in the regular pass and then use your express pass later in the day again if there is more wait time.
Food, Fun, Fantasy, and Family! This place has a little bit for everyone. Allowing the young and old to share in the experience ✨️ The older will love the nostalgia of seeing old Hollywood stars and where they first filmed movies, while the young will enjoy the special effects and thrill rides of fast roller coasters and virtual reality shows. You can walk through the streets of New York or stroll through Paris and sample each of the foods. It really has something for everyone.
This is always fun place. Limited rides. Easily can complete in a day of you plan properly. Try to target busy rides first to avoid long wait times. Harry Potter ride is the best. Most go ride. Pets one also good. Dont forget to reserve your slot as soon as you enter park. You can reserve slot in app.
Really large compared to what I expected. Lots of cool rides, although a lot of them seem like the same 4D experience just set to different themes. There are a TON of steps/escalators, so if that’s an issue for you, beware. You won’t be able to get to most of the park very easily. Harry Potter world is really fun if you’re a fan. Other than that I would say it was a really fun day but just doesn’t stick with you the same way Disney does afterward.
With only 13 rides this was an amazing theme park. The studio tour is worth every second. You get to see so many characters easily. The water world show was jaw dropping.Harry Potter section was beautifully built with Hogwarts hogsmead sections. Each ride and theme was great. We dont have to wait for any ride on the day we went, it was Wednesday. Easily doable in 1 full day with all shows. The walk and shops are also great and you can spend the evening there easily.
Really cool place for all ages. I particularly liked the Studio tour, while my kiddo loved the Water park show. All rides are cute and updated. Thrill seekers might enjoy the Mummy ride and the Harry Potter ride.
This was my first time there and I took my teenage daughter. We didnt really know the details of what to expect so we were excited by what it turned out to be.This is not a traditional amusement park but more so an interactive entertainment experience. If youre in to action this is for you and even more so if youre in to action movies.I suggest that you dont skip the Universal Tour because its more than just background information on buildings. The Mummy ride and smaller ride in the Harry Potter section werent overly impressive. If youre like getting wet, sit in the front two rows of the Jurassic ride and the first couple of rows of Water World. Also, I would save the Transformers ride for last.Hope you enjoy!P.S. You might want to check the ticket price of the day youre going beforehand. 🤑
We did the VIP tour and it was incredible! I would highly recommend it if you don’t want to spend the entire day waiting in lines. Our tour guide was very nice, and took us on every one of the rides in the park with zero weight. Note the weights even in the express lines was 30 minutes for some of the more popular rides. We had a couple of hours before and after our tour to wander the park on our own. We were able to ride all of our favorite rides multiple times. Even though the VIP pass is supposed to put you into the express line when you were not on the tour, our experience was at the staff lots of VIPs to the front of the line even when they’re not on a tour. In the entire day we waited less than five minutes in line ever. The buffet lunch was also very impressive. Much better food that he would normally get in a park. Add to this included breakfast in valet parking, and the VIP pass is a great deal compared to the express pass. You can save money and spend the entire day waiting in 70 to 90 minute lines, or you can get the VIP pass and do everything you want. On the back lot tour we were able to get off the tram and walk around through some of the movie sets. It was really fun to see the set of the good Place, as well as one of the crash scenes from war of the worlds.
Had a great time. Got 90% of the rides in. The lines are about an hour wait but still enjoyed it. Plenty of shopping too! Food is expensive as expected. We stayed at hotel down the street so parking wasnt an issue.Definitely get on all the rides if you can.
Great experience here!! Definitely worth to get the express pass. Highly recommend that! Need a whole day to get through everything. Fun day! The hollywood studios tour is great too!! Super interesting and keeps you entertained.
A must when you visit Los Angeles. The park is super fun, it has a lot of different rides so theres fun for all kinds of people. Harry Potter world is amazing. Also, the new Jurassic World ride was top tier. I strongly recommend doing the Universal Studio tour, you learn so much and is really entertaining (they offer Spanish tours as well!)
I love this place! They always keep updating the attractions. There is a significant variety of food options to choose from. I would definitely try to avoid going there on the weekend if possible, especially during spring break. It gets super busy. But the thing that I love the most about this part is how efficient everything is. Customer service is outstanding, if not exceptional. Everyone is very friendly. I would definitely recommend getting an express pass, especially on the weekend. It will save you a lot of time and misery, especially in the summer. Definitely recommend visiting here
This was my first time in this park and it was an amazing experience. We had a lot of fun in it. We got there early as soon as they open. It rained the whole afternoon and night. Either way we had a great time.We were the first group to do the Studio Tour. All the areas were impeccable. The decorations in each world were just FANTASTIC.We enjoyed all the rides but our favorites were Jurassic World, Secret Life of Pets and The Studio Tour.I cant wait to go back.
Best experience ever. My son had a perfect early birthday celebration. We loved it ❤️. Enjoyed the shops first and finished the day with almost all the rides. Missed some but hopefully next visit we can cover those. I personally LOVED the Harry Potter ride.
Always come here to enjoy the park, yes it could get repetitive with the rides but you can also just visit just to hang out if you have a pass. Many good food choices as well and sometimes not as packed. Great location for tourists and a good mark to visit if youre a first timer in Hollywood Los Angeles.
I say Christmas is the most wonderful time of year to bring your family. The lines for most of the rides were pretty fast, but be prepared to wait. The food and drinks were delicious and pricey so be prepared to dig deep into your pockets. And please wear your sneakers. Overall I had a freaking ball!
Hard to post anything bad about Universal studios Hollywood with the exception of how long it took to get into the park in the morning due to covid testing and the fact that we went on one of the busiest days of the month so the wait times exceeded 4 hours on several rides that being said if you get there early and by the express pass you can skip the lines and hit every single ride in less than half a day it is totally worth the extra expense if you ask me a specially if youre going for one day. Dont miss the thrill rides in the lower lot that was probably the most fun me and my family had was down there on those specific rides.
Loved my day here. It rained the entire day. Never fear we came with our rain gear. Water proof shoes, pants, and jacket. We had no problem with the rain. We were able to ride all the rides. Some we went on several times. Super friendly staff, professional at their jobs. Ate at the Three Broom Sticks at Harry Potter Land. Very good. Loved the Hot Butter Beer. I think it is better than the Cold. Had a great time.
Holiday decorations were plentiful and all around very well done. While I cant fit on most of the rides at Universal the ambiance and overall feel was awesome to walk around and enjoy. The blocks of time for nighttime tree lighting and Hogwarts displays were done very well. Really helped make it so you didnt feel like youd miss anything. To maximize the day Id recommend arriving at park opening, just allows a few quick near walk-ons in the opening hour.Food options a plenty and can be had on a whim for the most part. Mobile order? Who needs it, if youre hungry just walk up and grab food (well save for some popcorn stands and Starbucks). As a quick-tip if youre looking for the Minion holiday popcorn bucket, head to Minion Cafe and get it there, then take the receipt to any popcorn cart to get filled. For safety stuffs: Security and Vaccine/Negative test checks were easy and quick (though still thorough). Id say most guests were masked and in general all around very pleasant. No fuss, no issues, it was an all around chill atmosphere with everyone enjoying. All around 10/10 - if you want a holiday theme park visit this fits the bill nicely.
