Universal Studio's sprawling water park offers high-thrill slides & rides, plus low-key pools.
The BEST water park I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to many water parks across the east of the US. Volcano Bay was by far the most fun one I’ve been too. My husband and I took a day trip last minute and got to do every single ride (without the fast passthe wrist bracelets are a game changer. You don’t have to wait in line, you just scan your watch on the ride you want to go on and your watch will notify you when it’s time to return to your ride! In the meantime you can go in the crazy river (yes you heard that right, they have a crazy river and a lazy riveror eat, or ride any other “ride now” rides. It was seriously so nice to not have to wait in line. We will definitely be back!! So much fun.
Great modern water park with brilliant theming. Parking cost $27 for the day and then you get a shuttle bus to the entrance. No glass is allowed so make sure nothing is in your bag like perfume etc. as it gets checked. No alcohol is allowed in your bag either.$20 for a medium sized locker. We fitted 2 rucksacks in this. It’s $5 for a towel or you can bring your own.We had lunch at the Taco place which was really good $11.49 for Tacos 🌮 they have chicken or beef ones.Only annoying thing for us was the Tapu watch thing. You can only have 1 ride on it at a time.Great day out.
We had an absolute blast here! We went on a Saturday and arrived relatively late (1:00PM), but we still managed to get on nearly every ride we wanted to, with a minimal wait. The virtual lines are such a wonderful idea! Additionally, the day we went, the park was not crowded and we were actually comfortable throughout the day. The food was decent too, for a theme park. The staff are all very friendly and seem like they enjoy their job, which makes for much better experience. Additionally, the covered parking is a HUGE plus in comparison to other theme parks. The only downside is that they dont seem to offer annual passes for just Volcano Bay. Regardless, we will be going again and again; highly recommend!
Overall great experience. Spent 1 full day here but could of spent 2 as would of liked to relax a bit more. Felt like time was constantly of the essence as to get on as many rides as humanly possible to get bang for 💰! Would be nice to be able to scan in for more than one ride at a time, the whole ride now thing was quite honestly a joke. Had scanned in for one ride that was 200+ minutes. Then hands are tied to not be able to ride anything except ride now, for fear that would loose position. The food was elementary level lunchroom level at best while priced $$$$!Understand that margins have to be made, but anywhere else would be considered my the majority to be price gouging!
The park is amazing and the theme is beautiful but everything else need to be organized! I went to the volcano bay with my family and with my mom. I pick weekdays (every couple of years we visiting the Orlando parks it’s my routineit’s busy even then, I don’t wanna deal with weekends “traffic” !Park is so much fun,we all had a great time with lots of laughs ! My mom 74 she was able to take some easy rides and enjoy the pool at the volcano .My kids I meet with them couple of times lol (18 and 14that park for that age !I love the ice cream shops there that’s what I had all day.The watch for the rides and for the locker terrible, my kids lose it on the slides twice. It’s not a best idea or figure out some different belt for it. Also if you wanna buy a water, soda juice you can’t! You need to set up your card with your watch I didn’t do that ! So I carried and used my card when we needed something!I buy a waterproof case it’s good for your phone and for your card. Also you can take funny videos on the slides! Overall the park beautifully made I love every details! The soda, water station need friendly workers. On the slides the stuff did great job. Not just this, but every park in Orlando need to limited how many people they let in, or if they do, they need to limited much more less …!People pay a lot there to have fun not just for waiting for a slides or rides.
Recently spent a week at Universal and our second day was at Volcano Bay. What a fun day! The theming is tropical and relaxing and the entry into the park is one of the best parts. The island vibe upon entering and seeing the volcano + beach is incredible! The ride reservation system with their wearable bracelets made everything smooth. We ended up renting a cabana (17Athe day of and it was worth it because the pricing in the off season was much more reasonable. The rides were great, food was tasty, and location of the cabana put us in the best place to see all of the park and have a centrally located base of operations.Must see if you’re in town!
Its a very nice water park! If you booked a hotel with one of the parks (esp Cabana Bay), its walking distance. They made a specific path for hotel guests, and I think its really convenient and amazing. The Taputapu system is a genius! I really enjoyed my time here because I dont have to wait in line forever just to ride an attraction and waste daylight, you know. The staff are courteous and very friendly. Its a must try to do that ride with a trap door thing; its not soooo bad, but you might end up drinking some pool water like me on the first try (completely my faultcoz I got startled but its still an amazing ride. Theres a lifeguard at the end of every ride just to make sure youre safe, and they do such an amazing job (one of the patrons needed help and this lady jumped into action. So cool).
For the most part this was great. But if you need a scooter to get around you arent going to enjoy much. Just about all the seating in on sand so you have to park and walk on sand, not comfortable for the mobility impaired. Not many of the rides do not involve climbing tons of stairs, again not feasible for some of us. I was able to enjoy the lazy river. Other than that, I got to sit and wait on the rest of my party to enjoy the rides that looked like fun. I did have a tiny lizard that kept me company during one wait.
By Far the Best Water Park in Orlando!! If you have a chance to rent one of the private cabanas do so. There is nothing to disappoint you no matter what age. We visit at least 5 times a year and are always super happy. The Drinks are amazing as well as the food. Definitely give the rapid river a go while your there as well as the Aqua Coaster!
Great day here splashing around on the rides, in the pool and everything. GreatWe all had a great time. The Cabana offered a great option to allow chill times. Thanks all
Be prepared to wait several hours for the most popular rides. RIDE THEM FIRST, OR GET AN EXPRESS PASS. that was by far the worst part of our day, but besides that it was a blast. the food is good, reasonably priced and the staff are awesome, I really enjoyed talking to them and they were very friendly. Pretty awesome waterpark honestly. but those lines put a major damper on the day.
If you enjoy great scenery, water slides / coasters, lazy rivers, and overall fun & sun.. Volcano Bay is an excellent water park to visit. They have some extremely thrilling slides, especially the ones at the very top of the Volcano where the floor drops from under your feet and you feel every twist n turn as you barrel down the slide (not for those who are scared of heights 😬).
This water park is amazing!!! The theme is very hawaiian style, and they provide you with a watch to register for a ride so you dont have to wait in line. The only thing is that the dryer machines were not working and the bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner, but the actual park is very enjoyable.
The most amazing water park ever. The Tapu Tapu wrist band system to allow you to virtually queue was great and the ride anytime drivers were superb. Truly something for all ages but the top of the volcano tube drop slide was incredible.
If youre staying on US or partner property make sure to take advantage of the early hour entry its worth it. Use the lockers further in the park to avoid the bussle of everyone using the ones as soon as you enter. Make sure to bring your own towels (we brought the hotelsotherwise its $5 each non refundable.Disappointed that the park doesnt serve any breakfast items so ensure you eat beforehand as the small kiosks selling churros/pretzels etc dont open until gone half 10.Recommend using your tapu tapu for contactless payment, less stressful and no worries about carrying payment.Tap for the aqua coaster as soon as you go in, we waited approximately 35 minutes as this will up to 4 hours as the day goes on. The crazy river rapids are fun and great way to kill some time in between rides.
This place was larger than I expected.Get there by 10am and still able to find lounges in shaded areas. Loved the bands to scan onto a virtual line.Good number of fun water slides or stay at the river float for several rounds, not boring because there will be huge waves of water rushing through now and then.Attached is slides and one of kiddie pool, this one is tiny but quiet. Much larger kiddie at another area.Great to relax, nap or read, if you dont want to get wet.
Great addition to Universal. Rides are great and lines are at a minimum due to advance reservation system(you get a watch that will notify you when your time to go on your rides). This allowed us time, to enjoy other not so popular rides or grab a bite to eat.
😏It was AWESOME!!! Be prepared to climb alot of steps. Bathrooms were clean, plenty of lockers and the food was pretty good. Get there early to get seats/lounge chairs for your towels and rest; your going to need it!!! Oh yeah, If you can afford it, get the Premium Express Pass. You wont have to wait for any ride. They give you a device to show when you can get on the ride of your choice but with the Express, you can go as many times as your legs will allow you to climb those steps.HAVE FUN....I know I did😁🤗🤗🤗
Volcano Bay is an amazing Waterpark and experience for all ages. There is alot of amazing perks and easy is my favorite Waterpark for these reasons. The biggest perk was the "taputapu" which is the best thing a park could have invented. The bracelet works as your spot in line....so no more long waits in fact never waited 15 minutes in a line even when it was a 200 minute wait, which means lazy river or wavepool as your wait happens. There was only 1 slide with "ride now" unfortunately so slid down it few times while waiting for water coaster. This also works with the app which means I could purchase food with it and even alcohol. The drinks are really great at the bar to. It unfortunately rained and for paying for two tickets and not getting on much I wish we had a refund for another park day, with this being said, if going to this water park dont go if bad weather. We were in first almost but the park was packed and we didnt upgrade to express passes so besides water slides with waits already we barely got to experience the slides. The park is very beautiful and comfortable. Get there early and get your seat saved. Also bring your towls or purchase them for roughly $6 rent plus lockers cost to.So if good weather this is best water park do to the beauty, technology, the food drinks a plus. They have the water on side walks so feet dont burn. Relax on beach or go on a thrilling slide!
We had the blast at this water park. It’s a lot of fun… we paid $27 for parking and paid $90.53 including tax for this park which worth it. I recommend to buy the tickets one day ahead online. I checked the price was $70.As an Architect, the Volcano bay was built very nicely with fantastic views… the landscaping was perfect… they gave us a watch for not standing in the line… So you should tab at any ride and reserve your spot then you can enjoy your time in the rivers or where it does not have any waiting time…the idea of having it is really good but sometimes it had a glitch… for a ride we had to wait for 255 minutes we were walking back to somewhere else and saw the waiting time is 120 at the tab location but our watch was still 235 minutes and not updated…Or the timing in every watch was not the same, in our group of 4 one of us got you can ride now or something like that but the rest were showing 25 min, 20 min, 35 min… which it was wired…but overall having it to not standing on a line worth these glitches… I hope they update these watches to not having this kind of issues…I highly recommend to try this park, you will enjoy it for sure…
Our family loves going to Volcano bay. We have a 3 year old boy and we feel very safe taking him. They have a huge kids area for him to splash in and they have lots of good life jackets for him to wear in the water. Lifeguards are very attentive, alert, and everywhere. On the adult side there are so many fun rides and the tapu tapu is such a great and fair idea for waiting on rides. I’ve had food and drinks here and I was fairly satisfied with what I had. A little pricy but good. The park itself is so well kept, new, and clean. We don’t have any problems with the lounge chairs, lockers, bathrooms/showers, or even the sidewalk being too hot. Easily the Best water park in central Florida and I’ve been to all of them.
Awesome water park! We purchased the very expensive express pass to skip the lines, otherwise, we would have been waiting for hours. I highly recommend you buy it so that you can enjoy all the attractions! We parked using an oversized high roof van (9ftand easily found the oversized parking (level 1 parking garage). Security is top notch, and you will be shuttled in on a short ride to the park’s main entrance in Universal’s very nice and clean buses.Overcome hot days here! - The multiple sprinklers throughout all the pathways within the park, and the wonderful Waturi Beach, or two lazy rivers will keep you cool.Cabanas are available for rent and look amazing, but are very limited and require advanced reservation only. Cost to rent these are extremely high.Overall, my 7 year old son enjoyed the thrill rides. By far, my favorite water park and can’t wait to come back.
Incredible water park. Plenty for young and old to do. Seeing at night is a must as the lights in the pools and surrounding features are spectacular. My favourite water park in the world
Anthony our cabana server is amazing !!! Very attentive to our family needs and provides great customer service. He is from New Jersey. Please take care of this young man. He does his job above the call of duty.Jennifer his partner has been most attentive to our towels and all. These two need recognition. We love this place and everyone is most helpful.Amanda from Michigan from guest services needs a hug. Thanks for all that you do.Warmly,Mr and Mrs Kamplain
Volcano Bay just might be the best water park I have ever been too, and I have seen my fair share of them living in Florida. We got there early, as we were staying at Cabana Bay, and were able to grab a few chairs under an umbrella. They give you a wristband to check into rides so you don’t have to wait in line at no charge so we were able to check into the busy rides and then go find rides that had no wait time to hit while we waited. They have 2 lazy rivers: one that has inner tubes and is the typical slow river, and another that you can only wear a life jacket for and is much faster, has rapids, a wave machine, and is a TON of fun. I highly recommend the aqua coaster, it’s a one-of-a-kind raft ride for 4 people that has a lot of drops and is very fast. The drinks are expensive but that’s typical for theme parks, we spent $14.50 each but you do get to keep the plastic glass. You get a $2.00 discount on refills after that. Bottles of soda cost around $4.The wave pool is quite large but does get VERY busy. Waves are generated every 10 minutes or so.They have a lot of rides throughout the park and we easily spent 7 hours there and didn’t do 1/2 of the rides. We went around the lazy river twice and the not-so-lazy river about 10 times. We also rode about 5 different rides during our time there. You could easily spend 2 days here to do everything.
Enjoyed the park. The virtual lines are convenient, but it seems hard to still manage around the park to achieve experiencing every ride. Another downside is everything - EVERY ride, pool, etc shuts down with any lightning nearby. Our first attempt to visit, the rides shut down 50 minutes after we got there, as we were 3rd in line to go down our first slide. So... We went to get lunch, with no tables available because all the other guests were occupying them (but not patrons of the restaurant), trying to wait out the threatening weather. After 2 hours more, we gave up and left the park. So... Between $27 for parking, $50 at the gift shop, and $80 on lunch, not to mention cost of admission, it was a bust and guest services would not give a voucher since we had more days still left on our tickets. (Yeah, but we paid for those). We asked if they could give us transfer to another park for the day, since we couldnt enjoy any entertainment at this one with rides shut down, but no go.All in all, its a beautiful setting, and lots to enjoy in a bathing suit, but a risk with the weather and no alternative options once there. (Though I suppose you could leave and go to CityWalk since youve already paid for parking. But thats just shopping, dining, and spending more money on premises). We did end up going back the next day (using another day of our passes), and had a great time, but couldnt do all the rides within the hours of operation.
Great place, you can bring snacks, drinks, etc in so it will help for large families. A Hot-dog is $15 and believe me, not a great size or taste at all.. better to get the Hamburger combo for few dollars more. Floor is super hot so I recommend to bring beach/water shoes...have fun.
Very clean, could do with more-or easier to spot signs for directions when walking around park. Lazy river good for someone who doesnt like the big rides or little ones with an adult. Life jackets available for non-confident swimmers. The wave machine goes on for ages, so if youre not a strong swimmer, try and stay towards the shallower end as it will wear you out! Would come back again
This is my first time coming to the Volcano Bay since its new. My girls lived it and so did I. The place is water park heaven. A must go, although there is a hight restriction, but I was able to get my twins in many rides, the bigger rides will have to wait couple more years until they can try it. Thats voices me an excuse to come back again 😅. I highly recommend buying the Trio ticket Universal Studious, Island of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, get the basic one not park park because youll pay less and enjoy a role park the whole day.
Great place for Families and friends. Try to get there early so you can get free beach chairs ⛱️. Full bathroom with showers and lockers. Designated section for smoking. Plenty of restaurants. Theres also a kid area with smaller rides.
This isn’t your normal water park. This is an experience. From the real sand to the awesome rides, you will have a great time. Do yourself a favor and experience the fearless River. It is a blast to be in!! Locker rentals are $20 for the entire day, but are a decent size. Fun for the whole family and bring the sunblock. Also recommend water shoes because the sidewalks get insanely hot on bare feet.
Great park, the rides are a blast and the staff was friendly. If you rent a cabana they let you in the park early which is cool. Everyone gets a waterproof wrist watch type device that allows you to join virtual cues for rides that have a wait which is a awesome. Then when its your time you can walk right on the ride.
Its definitely worth it to visit during the warmer months. Two of Universals parks are cool and all, but for people that need to rest their feet because they have a full week of theme parks ahead of them would appreciate a day of relaxation. This place has at least 4 raft slides, plenty of body slides, and 2 types of lazy rivers, a wave pool, and a few kid zones. There are plenty of Restrooms and lockers scatter around the park. I would suggest going straight to the other end of the park to find the mini lockers as the ones closer to the entrance usually are full. The lockers range from $10-$20 depending on the size. Cabanas can be rented but usually sold out. Plenty of beach chairs everywhere, you will find an empty one somewhere. Food is located around the park and decently priced. You can bring your own food as long as its less than 2 liters of liquids and non-microwaveable (check policy in website). I suggest getting there early and signing up immediately for the most sought out ride called Krakatau (usually 200+ minute wait). You get a risk band called a TapuTapu. If youve already signed up for credit card in your Universal App, it automatically sinks your credit card into your TapuTapu, so you can use it to pay for food and lockers (consult website to add credit card to Universal App). In order to get to Volcano Bay, you drive or get dropped off at Universal Studios, and walk towards the Cat In The Hat parking garage, head downstairs, and walk across the lot to where the people are with check points and busses. Youll take about 45min from Universal City Walk drop off until you get to Volcano Bay. Do yourself a favor and try it out. It took me nearly 5 years to think about going here, but it was totally worth it. Very different from the regular 2 parks, but as enjoyable.
Had a great time at this water park. Stayed next door at Cabana Bay so coming here couldn’t be easier. Rented a cabana for the day which made everything super special. Lots of slow rides and fast ones to freak you out. The lazy River and fast river are both very worth the ride. Expect a long walk up the volcano for a few of the body slides down through it from the top. Bring crocs.
We had a great time. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Everyone we came across greeted us with a smile. The burgers, fries and pizza we purchased was really good too. My boys can be picky and they were very pleased with the food. If my boys enjoyed it then I enjoy it.
The water park was amazing. It took me two days to explore and experience all the rides and activities. Its definitely worth the time and money. Tips make sure you take family and friends the more the better and more fun. Dont waste anytime get in line on the best rides first then finish with the other ones
Volcano Bay is a great place 2 be when the weather is great for it, and in Florida, you wouldnt have much of a problem with that. The rides are fun and the wristband system is great! You scan in a ride and it has a timer to let you know when its your turn.. it would be much better if you were able to have multiple timers on it and I recommend bringing your hotel towels with you if you dont want to rent a towel for $6 each
My experience at this water park was amazing. I had a really great time on all the rides. The environment was really great and made me feel like I was in Hawaii. The bracelets they give upon entry were wonderful and served many purposes such as using a virtual queue, paying for items, and tracking your park photos. Many of the rides had a photo opportunity so that worked out great. There were also a few spots in the park where you could take a self photo with your bracelet. I loved the virtual queue since I could relax or do something else while I was waiting. The employees were also very helpful and made you feel welcome. The food quality was very good as well and easy to order with my bracelet for payment at the register. The only complaint is that some of the pavements are slippery when you dont have shoes since you have to return to the shoe dropoff after the ride. Overall this was an excellent experience and by far my favorite water park at this point as I have been to many in some other major parks in the country.
Great time at volcano bay, we have annual passes we enjoy going. The way that they have the wristbands set up helps out with time management less time and lines more time enjoying the fun. They are great at resolving problems with attractions to get them back up in operations as fast as possible, this week the rapid River, not sure the exact title, was down for about 45 minutes, they worked hard and diligently to get it back active
Hands down the best water park we have ever been to!! So much fun and lots of places to eat and drink! Be sure to get there early as the seats fill up fast and then it would be hard to get a good spot!
We had the blast at this water park over the week. They have fun water slides and good food. We relaxed and listened to the water for hours. They have plenty of space for you. The unique idea of giving everyone a bracelet to ride the water slides and not lose your place in line is great. We will be back🤗
Great water park, virtual lines were very nice. Food was actually really good and not overly expensive. If I went back I would jump in line for the longer wait rides first thing in the morning as those wait times continued to rise all day. We rented premium seating which was key. Had to do this ahead of time as it was sold out when we arrived. Premium seating comes with two chairs and a sun cover and also included a locker built into the chairs. We also had a flag we could raise and there were servers that would take care of anything we wanted. Premium seats sounded like they are a variable price but they cost us $180. Cabanas when I called were running like $750, I wanted to do that but not for that price. Overall best water park Ive been to in Florida so far, we will be back.
Rides were amazing, wait times werent over 45 minutes and the water was heated! The day was a bit chilly when we went, early March. But it was amazing!
It is a very cheerful place, it seems that you are on the beach. Its very safe. The children enjoy it. We went in at 10am and it was 5pm and my kids didnt want to get out of the water. Its worth going. Book early and you wont pay so much.
One of the best organized water parks that I have been to. The thought that has went into this park is pretty amazing. From the sprayers on the concrete to keep your feet from getting too hot, to the wristband that helps keep track of wait times on the rides. It makes it so you don’t have to spend the day standing in line you can do other things while your time is counting down. The only downside was that you have to pay for towel rentals and we were staying on a universal hotel property and they did not let us know that or we would’ve just bought hotels towels. Highly recommend this waterpark.
SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE! MUST GO!My brother and I took a trip to Orlando/Kissimmee and decided to head to Volcano Bay. Best decision we made! It is such an idyllic and relaxing environment to be a part of. We got the wristbands that saved our place in line to popular rides while we roamed the park and enjoyed other water rides. It worked well for the most part. We still found ourselves getting there and still having to wait in a line (shorter than the general line though). Our favorite ride was the rapid lazy river where everyone who enters must wear a life vest. The life vests were so buoyant they comfortably kept your head above the water while you cruised around fairly fast in the warm heated water. If you are lucky, your timing lines up with the occasional massive wave the keeps the river flowing. We ate at one of the on site food courts which was your typical amusement park concession like meals. We also relaxed at a themed beach bar and enjoyed some drinks. The well designed park provides plenty of areas to lounge out and relax. The best ride is the main one at the top of the volcano.... WILD ride down!PARKING TIP: We parked are vehicle at the nearby Walmart and took an uber to the very front entrance area.ALERT: Volcano Bay has a bus pickup area prior to the boardwalk entrance and security area. Be sure to get on the bus and not enter the wrong park or youll just have to turn around after waiting in line.TIP: Bring a towel, sun shades, and water shoes (your feet will get tore up without protection).
I honestly love this water park especially with being an AP member the perks are great. The only reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because the TapuTapu watches as well as the express passes are kind of pointless they should just combine them together for the most part you might as well just stand in the regular line. I also think they could improve on the waves for the wave pool they’re kind of lame but other than that I think the environment is really cool the water rides are awesome and the water is heated to 80 degrees which is nice with living in Florida and it’s a little cooler now.
We had a lot of fun here this Christmas of 2021!we stayed at endless summer resort and took a bus to the park! The volcano bay reminds me of Hawaii a lot with music and views and that volcano is just fantastically built ! We went down from all of the slides and the ones in volcano are the scariest ones 😃 we used the express pass for 2 slides as there were 60 minute way and you can only be in line for 1 slide at the time ( the one thing i didn’t like). Under than that it was a lot of fun!
We had amazing time at Volcano Bay!The rides were great. The TapuTapu system is good for the most part but it would have been great if you could either reserve at least 2 rides at the time or one ride and be able to wait in line at another one. Unfortunately there’s no waiting in line at all so if your reserve time slot for a specific ride is an hour away you’d have to wait either by the wave pool, or maybe grab a bite to eat until then. For most of the day we managed to easily get on most of the rides we wanted to and we had an amazing time! It quickly became one of our favourite water parks.
I had an AMAZING day at the park!!!! The wristband system is something every water park should use! The staff was friendly, park was clean, the environment really does make you feel like you’re on your own island! That volcano is WOW!!! My bf and I were able to enjoy the wave pool and both lazy rivers while waiting in the virtual line. The water coaster is the best ride in the park! We had early access due to our resort and it definitely has it perks! The walk up for the rides killed us especially the rides at the top of the mountains 😩😩 food was good but please pack your own waters!! Overall, I’m so happy we visited this park!
