Extreme thrill rides & the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attract crowds to this Universal park.
We come here annually with the kids. Always a good time. As youd imagine there will be Lots of walking, lots of lines but the rides are generally good and the food options are decent. We like using the app to determine the order of the rides we go on because it gives you expected wait times.
Great experience! I actually found that i liked it better than Universal Studios. Islands of adventure have more extreme rides and adult rides which i found way more fun. Also, i really recommend to buy the express pass, it might cost twice to three time the ticket. BUT I was able to do all the rides I wanted and all the most popular ones (i did like 7-8 ridesfrom 10:00AM to 3:30PM. That would be impossible without the express pass..
Lots of fun when your on the rides. The parking garage is so far away from the park. You have to walk through the city walk to get to the park - its alot of walking and the lines are 30-90 minutes so you spend most of the day walking and standing waiting to get on rides that are 60 seconds. The pop eye ride is so fun but ⚠️ you get SOAKED!
Universal was awesome. Me and the family had a great time there . For us it was a good day to go because we didn’t have to wait in the lines at all . Maybe in a couple of rides but the lines weren’t long. It was a nice day there . A lot of cool attractions . I think you could definitely visit both parks if you got there early enough
Fantastic park! Amazing for adults and kids alike. Recommend buying a refill cup for the day, can reactivate when you visit again. If you take a turn on the water rides, specifically bilge rat barges and Dudley do right ripsaw falls, Id take a change of clothes, you will get wet, no soaked!!
Rides were good, but not amazing. Lines were short when I went. Lots of rides down for technical issues or weather that would come back up, but made having a plan hard. Got through all the major attractions that were open and almost all of the smaller attractions in about half a day. Even with short lines (<20 minutes as a single rider in a less busy timenot many I chose to ride a second time. Spent about 2 hours just hanging out waiting for weather at one point and still had more time. If it was busier and lines were much longer I think I would have been unhappy with the value. Some rides need refurbishment or fixes such as the jurassic world log floom and cat in the hat ride. Adventure of Poseiden could use updating, but it felt in good repair. Happy I went and did it, I would not come back though without major new additions and would probably plan it is a half day experience.
Best Trip Ever. What a fun we had. From Kids to Adults it is just Fun. Harry Porter & Hulk ride is best one. Disney at his best. Super Hero / Character Parade was best part. Ready to go anytime. Need atleast 2 days to enjoy whole park - Just Island of Adventure.
Love this place! Fast pass done right. Real rides and roller-coasters. My kids loved this park best out of Universal Studios and Disney Magic Kingdom. Disney needs to redo their fast pass. As it is right now I would say not worth the money. Universal fast pass is definitely worth the money. Would we go back? Yes we would.
Great experience for all the family. LOVED the Harry Potter world, every detail is in place. Very recommended park for extreme roller coasters and activities for kids. Be prepare for rainy weather in every season.
Very expensive but a very special place. Myself and my daughter loved every minutes of it.A few tips for those thinking of traveling:1. Bring your own food and snacks to the park with you. At the time of writing, a 500ml bottle of water was $5.502. If you know in advance you will be getting photos within the park (3 or more), consider purchasing the photo pass3. If your budget permits, purchase Express pass tickets before you travel. I purchased 2, 5 day express pass tickets (which included entry to the parkfor $760 each. You will save a lot of time accessing rides using these4. Purchase a neck fan. You wont regret it5. If you suffer from chafing, get yourself some cycle shorts before you go. These were a game changer 😂Im sure there is more but these would be my go too if I was to travel there again.
We love going to this place every year but please do not think that you can accomplish the entire park in one day. CityWalk alone you need an entire evening to enjoy and you wouldnt even get to enjoy all of the restaurants at that point. As a tourist you can maximize your experience by just keeping your expectations low and enjoying the day as it goes. You may want to have one particular location that you want to get to but overall as long as you dont have high expectations you will enjoy everything that you do! And Im not just saying that because I asked my wife to marry me there many years ago right at the globe at Universal 🌐
Best theme park in Orlando (in my opinion of course), we have an annual pass. You can bring in food, water, can wear a fanny pack on most rides. Only complaint is the wait times, ridiculously long...bring something to do in line for sure! Express pass not worth the cost with this economy (also IMHO). We like to stay at a Universal hotel when possible to get into the park an hour early!
Theres not much that I can say about Universal that hasnt already been said by others. This is an incredibly well-themed park, tons of fun, and theres lots to see and do!If you do go, Id recommend taking advantage of Express Passes if you can afford them. Stay as hydrated as you can because it is really hot (at least during the summerand dont forget to pop into a shop for a quick break into the AC. Wear comfy shoes, dont forget sunscreen, and just enjoy!
Such a fun experience for my nephew and I! Hes 10 and I wanted to take him somewhere that would fit his age and interests andcthis was it! We rode almost everything! We were there the whole day. I would not recommend trying to do 2 parks in one day, one is all you will have time for unless you buy the express passes. I was glad the bathrooms were plentiful and easy to find, the food was good, and the park easy to navigate. I CANT WAIT TO GO AGAIN!!
Had a great time. Being able to get in hour before got us on the 2 big rides just after 9:00. We hit everything else with not much of a wait. Picks from both parks.
This is the park for thrill seekers. Lots of cools rides but of course everyone wanted the Harry Potter ride and now I see why. My most favorite ride in the park. I cant stomach the 3 and 4d rides. They make me queasy. But an awesome park.
This is another wonderland in Orlando! Tourist destination from all over the globe. I realized that one day two park wasn’t a very good decision if you really want to explore the entire park and enjoy all the rides. Weather is a great concern here. All outdoor activities are suspended if the weather is bad! And you have nothing to do but to wait for the green signal from the ride attendant. Do not forget to carry your raincoat in case there is a little chance of rain. Umbrella ☔️ don’t help due to huge crowds. Enter the park as early as possible so by end of the day you will be able to happily leave the park.
Best theme park Ive ever gone to. All the build up in the waiting line is like telling a story, preparing you for the rides. The Hulk is by far one of my favorite roller coasters and the velocicoaster is absolutely insane. Islands of adventure beats every other amusement park out there
Honest review . Super busy as it’s the American school holidays . Queue at guest service to register for a disability pass were around an hour . Park it’s self it lovely but I do not think it’s as organised as Disney unfortunately. Encountered two rude staff members one in a food hall she couldn’t understand the drink that we were asking for (literally asked for normal coke she got short tempered very quickly so I’m the end I just pointed to what we wanted but her temper really effected my child with autism . The second encounter was onThe Jurassic world ride . We were waiting to get out disability pass signed to get on the ride and the lady shouted three times if you have an express pass Iv told you to keep moving . We said we understand that but you have to sign our card she then shouted for a fourth time until my husband literally waved to he card at her she snatched the card off us muttered under her breath and literally threw it at us . I did tell her that she was incredibly rude and manners do not cost anything . I get that we all have bad days at work but I couldn’t have been any clearer 4 times … we last visited universal 6 years ago as we opted for Disney on out other visits and unfortunately this will be out last visit to universal . We just didn’t like the vibe at all . Rides are amazing and definitely great if you’re a thrill seeker . Harry Potter world is wonderful and very magical but for us it’s not to about the rides it’s the over all package and experience and unfortunately we just didn’t like the whole vibe at this park .
I visited on July 1st. It was hot and rain after 3. I like the refillable universal soda cup. It cooled the heat off. My opinion the best time to visit is end of Sept til mid Oct when the weather is cool and less rain. 👍
Great rides, tons of stuff to see. More than 1 days worth. If you are looking for shorter ride times I would spring for the express pass, it is hot in Florida and standing in the sun for an hour may not be your thing. We had so much fun and will return.
Lots of things to keep the kids and big kids entertained. Lots of photo opportunities too. Scary fast rides to reasonable speeds. Wet and dry rides too. Well set up and maintained. Fantastic for Harry Potter fans for the imitation of the film sets to be walked through (Im not a fan and even appreciated it)
Better than expected, worth staying in their hotels for early entrance. Had a blast with my 3 kids. My two oldest kids went on the coasters while my youngest and I went to Harry Potter. What a great experience fun for everyone.
Great for kids of all ages. So much to do! Never enough time to do it all! Very clean and well maintained compared to other theme parks. Attention to detail in HP world is an awesome experience
Great place. Had alot of fun. We ate at the Captain America Dinner. Had seating and had air conditioning. Food was good the wait wasnt long at all. Harry Potter world was cool. Had some very good rides. The Motorbike ride was my favorite at Harry Potter world.
On top of my last review, when we went this time, Poseidons Fury is now open and has a show every 15 minutes. It was a great show! Lines move quickly too since it is a grouping of people at a time. The only thing I will advise, if you have young children with you (a few times as part of the show for effectthe lights in the rooms go out and I noticed a child a little scared. So if you are there with children... you may want to talk to them to prepare them first or not take them in at all, depending on the the child. If you do decide to take them in, I would definitely hold their hand. The lights dont go out for very long but it does happen.Otherwise, the show is very well put together and is very good! We loved it!
If youre trying to choose Disney vs. Universal, definitely go Universal!! We decided to purchase the express pass which made everything so much better! We were able to ride every single ride and still had time to do some shopping, eating, watch some shows, and take some pictures around the park! The place definitely gets crowded so I would recommend getting there as early as possible. Also love that its a parking garage and not open parking like at Disney! This park definitely caters to older kids as they have more rollercoasters. So if you have tiny, tiny ones, you probably want to go the Disney route. But in my Opinion, Universal has made it to where everything runs a lot smoother, even with the big crowds! One of the biggest things that is a plus for me, there are a lot more trees and shaded areas at universal, especially when standing line. And with this summer heat, that makes a huge difference!!Would definitely come here all the time if I lived in Florida!
A magical experience! If you have little patience for anything you are not going to enjoy the lines to the rides. Most of the workers are polite others are just working through the day. Bathrooms are kept clean.
Amazing experience. Would definitely recommend getting fast passes. I will give it 4 of 5 cuz the fast passes was messed up on their system. Also when going on rides you are required to stow all your bags. But in order to do that you have to pay $2 per storage locker and they are super small. Make sure you remember your locker number otherwise you spend an hour getting your stuff back (we found this the hard way). Other then that it was an amazing experience packed with fun!
Always love coming here, had a delay due to a guest wanting to get off a ride, but that isnt the parks fault. Always recommend coming here, prefer this over the Universal side and thats changed over the years and Ive been coming since opening in 1999. Highly recommend especially over Disney as well. Need to reduce the cost of parking or have it included in the ticket pricing because its a bit ridiculous for $27 for parking, I remember coming as a kid and it was less than $10, really has gone up a lot even in the last 2-3 years.
If you are a coaster person its worth going to ride several of the coasters here. If you arent there are still some shows and rides that are interesting and fun. Theres more to do here to do than you can get done in one day, but be prepared to stand in lines if you dont buy the pass to skip ahead of the queue.
This is my happy place. Both parks are awesome in their own ways, but Islands is my favorite. I love the rides and different themed areas. I love getting a beer at the Hogs Head and people watching in Hogsmeade. The Team Members are the most amazing people.
Many choices of entertainment! It is a great experience to walk through the different themed areas where I often find fun little quirks that can go unnoticed. The food choices are probably the biggest downside as it is expensive for the quality received. We had a blast riding the rides.
Great attractions, Jurassic Park zone and Harry Potter are awesome! King Kong is great! Water attractions are good!If you get the 1 hour early admission you can see all the park in less than 6 hours.
Literally so magical. I loved every minute of it. I recommend a fast pass at least one day of your staying for several. Hagrids ride is amazing. Be prepared to wait everywhere you go regardless of the time of day or week.
Best trip ever!! We had a blast. The lines were long but moved very quickly. The staff members were nice and appeared to really love their jobs. The Spider man ride is a must!! We spent 3 days there and still didnt get to do everything. Yes it was costly but my children enjoyed every minute of it
Its a very fun tour accessibility is great for you to get to the place its very easy accesses are well facilitated ample parking and very easy to park. The problem is the price is $27, but its still for the whole day, its not for an hour inside the fun is complete because there are many attractions and toys that cater for all ages, youll have fun alone with friends and your girlfriend or with the family, this tour is really worth it, even if you take it for just one day, its still worth the queues inside. They look great but they still ride well and its worth the wait. I recommend in all senses.
I had a really great time here today and got on every ride at least once starting at 10am and ending at 9pm. All the rides were working today and most were close to 1hr waits. The park was also very crowded so it was hard to move around at times. Overall all the rides and environment were great and my two favorite rides were Velocicoaster and Hagrids Motor Bike Adventure. I would highly recommend riding these at night!
Ive never had so much fun in my life! Two days full of adrenaline, happiness, wildness and joy! Island of Adventure has it all! I recommend a Park-to-Park ticket and take advantage of it during the week. This resort will enjoy both child and adult! Thank you for an exceptional experience!
It wasn’t cheap but it was a good time. My kids had a great time and that was my main objective, I mostly ate and shopped for souvenirs in the many shops. There’s live shows for the little kiddos, thrill rides for the bigger ones and the full grown kiddos too. The staff was great throughout the park that I came into contact with. There’s an abundance of everything, and lots of people who were behaving themselves. Don’t be surprised if it takes an hour to get on a ride. The Hulk ride seemed to be pretty popular, my guys rode twice so they must have liked it. I recommend a visit if if you have the time. There’s plenty of ways to get cooled of on a hot day, like over by Poseidon’s spot.
Great! Will be back. So much to see and do. Times are long to ride, but express the day we were there was $262.00. That was more than the 2 days of tickets I purchased. it would cut time, but they dont have a large number of rides. Lots of places to buy things.
Had a lovely time despite the weather in the 80s and 90s, but the ocean breeze helped tremendously. We did this event and Universal Studios. Parking was about $30 each day. The average wait time for the rides was 50 minutes. Be prepared for crowds and a lot of walking. Have fun.
Today was are day four and it was much better than day one which it was raining that day. The food inside Dr sues world was Exceptionally good. The rides didn’t take long to get on until towards the end of are day which was around 3pm to 4pm. The weather turned out to be great & we just had a great time today.
Universal Islands of Adventure did not disappoint. This park is just as magical as any of its counterparts. The variety of rides and attractions are wonderful. Each one is as entertaining as the next. There are plenty of options to choose from when deciding what to eat. There are plenty of options for younger children to keep them entertained as well. Dr. Suess land is sure to keep them busy for hours. The staff at every part of the park was pleasant and helpful. The park was very clean. We are looking at purchasing annual passes next year, because we enjoyed our trip so much! Definitely worth every penny.
Had an awesome time with the family at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. This is an awesome place to take teens because of the thrill rides height requirements. The food leave a little to be desired, for example we ate at a burger joint and the patties are exactly that patties that were $60 bucks for 3. BUT it’s to be expected at a park I guess. The wait times were not unbearably long during this time of the year so express passes not really needed. The wait time for the Jurassic park ride was an hour long but they entertain you throughout the wait. The HARRY POTTER ride was definitely a thrill and one of my favorites.
Spring is great to visit, especially a weekday if possible. The lines were long, but bearable, and the weather was fabulous. The staff was courteous and ensured our safety on each ride. Most things were pretty affordable but plan to spend a ridiculous amount of youre buying food. Youre allowed to bring in your own water bottles and small snacks which was a great help to us. All in all, it was a blast and well be returning again soon.
Its a wonderful place to visit! Like Disney World which is in the same Town in Florida, downloading the app for Universal Studios theme parks goes a long way to help you find the location of rides, food, and bathrooms! Also it shows you how long the wait times are for each ride.
I had so much fun here, I havent been since I was a child. There was a long wait on the rides, but that was expected as I went on a Saturday during most peoples spring break. The rides were amazing and the staff was great!!!
Awesome place. Wait times are way too long. Mostly everything was >80 minutes. The prices was outrageous. $800 for tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids. Fast passes were sold out at 0800!! Made the wait times worse. Fortunately, my kids didnt complain the entire time like last year. Hate we didnt get to get on a lot of things due to the wait times. We did both parks though. Will plan better next year.
Great time!! Havent been here since 1981!! Spectacular details in decor!! Loved the fire breathing dragon in Harry Potter area!!💞My only complaint.. GIVE THOUGHT TO EXPANDING SEATS ON ROLLER COASTERS!! NOT ALL COASTER LOVERS ARE TWIGS!! Some of us have mass!!
