Unity Village Bookstore and Coffee Shop in Lee's Summit

Nice area to hang around in. Didnt spend too much time inside due to coming in right before closing, but the cookie I bought was good and all the staff were friendly. Ill be sure to visit again some other time.

This is more of a coffee shop than a bookstore anymore. The prices are high but the variety is good

It’s peaceful. They sell jewelry and religious books. the staff isn’t very helpful though and I don’t think I’ll be back. The blonde at the counter was more concerned about cleaning then helping us. She made me a bit uncomfortable as well when I asked about the drinks and she didn’t really know them well enough to recommend anything. Idk the vibes were weird.

25 cents for a cup of water seriously (after spending 20 bucks there)? Even fast food restaurants give free water with meals. In addition, I am sorry but gangster Franks Sinatra playing loudly throughout the room is somewhat inconsistent with the spiritual goods for sale throughout the store and Unity, last time I checked, was supposed to be a spiritual institution. This did not create the right vibe. Speaking of which was the shorter woman wearing glasses working there who gave me cold stares, at times, interacting with her-if I did something wrong, Im not exactly sure what it was. The hours are ephemeral as well, wich kind of messed me up in other ways today as well. Food was okay-NEW YORK DELI pastrami might be a stretch. Not the best experience. The shop does have some nice greeting cards, though, Ill give them that.

Colorful, bright and open. And Starbucks coffee too. In addition to books I found some pretty awesome artwork, tee-shirts and souvenirs.

Ive grown up by this store and I have loved it even before the renovations. Its so sweet and calm its wonderful. Its so pretty and clean, I love that it smells clean and not just like coffee grounds or books. Plus there was one time I didnt know about the no pets rule and I had my cat in a backpack after we got done with a hike on the nature trail next door and the girl at the corner just cooed over him and made sure we both had a little something. Once we sat down at a booth she came and let us know that we technically cant have pets there but since hes well behaved shed let it slide this time and we both laughed. Ill make sure not to bring him next time and I really appreciated that she didnt just immediately shoo us away and ruin my perception of the cafe. Its wonderful and worth your time when you visit Unity Village.

This place is freaking AMAZING do yourself a favor and try the mixed berry smoothie or the Carmel Macchiato. Heck even start up a conversation with their staff. They are the sweetest! Like today we had Aaron & Nina, and they treated us like family! If you want a quick stop to eat, drink, or just something that lights up your day. Go here!

Nice peaceful and clean place

I work at the Village, so I may be a little biased, but I love the Cafe. The food and drinks are wonderful, the staff are so capable and sweet, and the gifts and books are perfect. Plus, it is across the street from the hiking trail and walking labyrinth.

The Unity Bookstore has very good service, people & prices. I love the Bookstore. My favorite hang-out!

Ive never been here before, the buildings are so beautiful, love the arches, the windows, the roof tiles, absolutely stunning! We visited the bookstore and coffee shop. We had just eaten before arriving here so we didnt get anything to eat but the soup smelled divine! The gift shop is so cute! It has a little bit more of a religious setting inspired merchandise but all very pretty and unique. Scarves, candles, cards, keepsakes, jewelery, books, journals, pots, small musical instruments. I enjoyed my time here!!

One of the best kept secrets in Lees Summit for some reason.The staff is always GREAT, along with their coffees and teas.They have all kinds of reading material by world renowned writers. And a good selection of common office supplies. Did I mention wind chimes, jackets, shadow-box items.... They have good fresh sandwiches too !You really need to visit this place. Enter off Colburn road and drive 300 feet, on the left - - is the easiest way to find it. They also have a nice hotel there too. It was the first Green Hotel in the country for a while, a few years ago.Did I mention their nature walking trails. All this ties together at Unity. It is nice, friendly and peaceful.... Except for their weddings - they look fun.Go Visit, you will be surprised + happy you went.

A wonderful, Spiritual gift shop / bookshop on the beautiful, Unity Village campus! Extremely nice and helpful staff, along with a large diversity of products and books. I will be back, the next time I visit the Kansas City, MO area!

I absolutely love the bookstore here at Unity Village. The feel of the place what the vibe is amazing. Just enjoyed a long conversation and a cup of coffee with a dear friend. Education is so much a part of the Unity Movement and this is the perfect place for books and posters Im just the feel of it. So if youre in the area looking for a good cup of coffee or book that might change your life, stop in and stay a while.

Really nice bookstore and appreciate the cheaper Starbucks coffee, however I was surprised at how unfriendly the ladies at the coffee shop were and for no apparent reason. After I left with my parents and fiancee, all of them mentioned how unpleasant they seemed. I will definitely be back, but hope to be greeted by friendlier faces.

The energy has shifted and was more akin to any bookstore withreligious overtones and not asmetaphysically uplifting or asSpirit energizing as I have experi-ended in the past. Not quite thesacred space I had remembered.Still lovely. Still professional.

This place has changed since I was there last. It is still a great place to meet a friend for coffee/breakfast or read or browse the shop offerings. Love the outside seating area. Its across from the labyrinth if you want to check that out before or after.

A hidden gem to ward off fundamentalists! I love this place, always have. We sometimes go here vs. church and enjoy it more.

I have my coffee here every day during the week. I like that I get fresh Starbucks every morning, plus its easy to get to from hwy 50. I can just jump off and on without any traffic. I also tried the peach iced tea that they advertised and it was really good! I tried it at the Village Mic, an open mic night on the first Thursday of each month.
