Really lovely food and a beautiful setting. It was actually chucking it down with rain when we visited but stayed nice and dry under the outside canopy while still taking in the views of the harbour.

Were regular visitors of Pickle. Today arrived for breakfast with a group of friends. Asked to move table from the sunny table as unable to serve food there. So we moved. Someone else sat in original table and was served food. We enquired and received a rude not bothered response from staff. Service was awful, slow, order of drinks arrived late. Black teas arrived half full, additional person arrived at table and no one arrived to take order. Due to slow service, attitude towards us we called Lockside, booked a table and walked around the corner. Would avoid Underfal now.

Lovely old boaty corner of historic Bristol docklands. Splendid cafe serving coffee beer and refreshments, with covered seating area. Walk on towards Wapping Warf and amble past cafes and eateries now open. Why not gaze at the boats and small ships, some with masts or maybe visit Brunels Great Britain. Why not take the ferry across to the North Bank and explore there?

Great place for a wander around where you can still see traditional skills in action. The visitors centre and cafe is good with some great activities for kids young and old. Definitely somewhere where you will learn something about the history of the area. The engine runs at various times so check it out.

Superb little museum which held you understand the amazing Bristol harbour and all its hydraulic genius starting from Brunels dreams. Very interactive. Then there is a wonderful light up plan in full colour of the whole harbour that you can walk around, plan your stroll or understand how cleverly the whole area was constructed. Finally there is a super cafe that does good coffee, drinks and hot and cold snacks at standard prices served to you as you sit under umbrellas watching the whole maritime leisure and commercial industry glide by or be lovingly restored in the dry dock/slipway next door. . In good weather its one of Bristols little gems.

We were lucky enough to see the pumps working. Had a wonderful couple of hours here. Steve was excellent in giving his time and showing us all the workings (helped by young Felix). Please enjoy an afternoon here well worth a visit especially if history and engineering are your thing.

A piece of little known history with both the pumping station and the working traditional boat yard. Also a great food and coffee stop for anybody circumnavigating the Docks on foot or bike. Pickles has a great outside space with which gives a different perspective of the harbour.

Nice, historical pit-stop on your walk round the harbour. A good museum, but a guided tour is highly recommended. Im not a history or engineering buff, but what these pumps do/did is crazy impressive!

Out son had sailing from here with cubs so we thought we would all go down as a family and watch. Not been to Pickle before but have walked by before and thought it always looked nice. It did not disappoint, great food and friendly staff and well as having interesting interactive things for the children to do. We will be going back again very soon.

Really good sandwiches and a nice place to sit in the sun whilst watching the boats. Small point, I would have liked to have been told that crisps are served with the sandwiches rather than letting me buy two bags of unneeded crisps.

Interesting place, a lot of history about the development of Bristol docks over the years. Some guided tours. On certain days they start the old engines that used to provide pressurised water to cranes, slices etc

Lovely stop on a harbor walk. Nice atmosphere and great to see a working boat yard in action. There is a working pump Room that is run for the public. There are also some cool interactive displays that get kids understanding and operating a system of locks and sluices, and an interactive aerial map table of the city river and waterways; enough to insert kids for a while. There is a pickle cafe for drinks and food, an ice cream counter, and outside seating with a great view of the harbour. There are also public loos.

I love this place. But then I love large pieces of machinery. Also coffee and great sandwiches. The history is really interesting. Not a massive place, short visit and a drink when strolling round the harbour side. Well worth dropping in if you are already at the Great Britain.

Excellent place to learn some really interesting things about Bristol and its floating habour, and its wonderful, mind blowing hydraulic power system that effectively ran the once thriving Bristol docks...Before the creation of the floating harbour, the docks were tidal, and so when the tide went out the ships would settle on the river bed...and everything that was not tied down and safely stored moved...hence the expression "ship shape and Bristol fashion"

One of Bristols less advertised gems. A traditional shop maintenance yard that builds bespoke small boats, and repairs and maintains some of the larger ones. Theres a visitor centre with excellent interactive displays on how the floating harbour was built and maintained. Also has a bar and cage which is a lovely place to hang out.

This is one of my favourite places to visit in Bristol. The staff and volunteers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The cafe is good value with a great range of food and drinks. We have just visited again during Harbour Fest and it is much more low key at this end of the harbour. A great place to sit with a coffee/cider (or whatever floats your boatand watch the comings and goings of the harbour. We also like to come here in the colder months and we all enjoy a walk around the harbour with a stop in Underfall yard for a coffee and the kids like to use the interactive exhibits. In a nutshell, a great place to visit to get a better understanding of the importance Underfall yard played in the harbour, or even just for a snack and a drink.

Amazing setting at the end of the harbour, perfect for watching boats, paddle boarders and dragon boat racing. Basic picnic bench style seating outside. The brunch/breakfast sandwiches are served in baskets, nothing fancy, but everything you could want in a sandwich. Tried the bacon, avocado, tomato and lemon mayo - delicious. Interesting exhibits relating to history of harbour indoors, including interactive stuff that provided ample entertainment for my two-year-old.

Bristol’s best kept FREE and Uber friendly secret!! Not only highly educational of Bristol’s floating harbour (!which our 4 yr old and her friends always have fun with the interactive displays. But the volunteers are super knowledge and warmly welcome anyone who passes. Of course, the perfect distraction whilst waiting for the Bristol Ferry too. And did I mention the funky little cafe??

Surprisingly informative little museum that gives some of the details of how Bristols floating harbour works and how it came to its current state. The staff were very informative and friendly. There are a handful of interactive exhibits explaining how some of the features of the harbour work, which are great for both children and bigger children. Food and drink provided by local business Pickle, with outdoor seating overlooking the water. Worth a visit if youre exploring the serene end of Bristol harbour.
