Uncle Tim's Thai House - Thai restaurant in Covina, United States
Uncle Tim's Thai House in Covina
Description
Privilege
People say you get what you pay for and I seen the prices where kind of high so I figured its good quality and quantity good but was I wrong. Mongolian beef was nasty, meat tasted like it was past its throw out date,Beef Sate was cold and tasted sour. I wouldnt reccomend this spot to my family or friends.
MoreI was order a thai tea with notes no ice with Uber eat, and what I received was fully iced. If they couldn’t do it then it’s fine, but it looked like was added on purpose. Bad experience.
MoreFood is good but not worth the price. I know theres inflation but beef satay went up 5.00$ more. 19.00 for 6 skewers and rice is not the business.
MoreVery good foods and friendly
Delicious food!
nice food and nice service 👍👍
So delicious! I got the Mongolian Beef on the lunch special and it was so delicious. They brought it out so fast, like within 15 minutes. Its a sit down restaurant too!
MoreBEWARE OF THIS PLACE..I wouldnt rate this place anything.. first and last time there such a weird experience..the food definitely low quality. When it was time to leave i asked for the bill. She brought me the check handed her my card in her hand. She then came back with the book and no card just the receipt of the charge. When I asked for my card she couldnt find it. Stood there for half an hour making sure they would find my card. Told them to look on the cameras and the man showed me he was looking at the video.. all I saw in the video was his back blocking the camera nothing was getting solved. Customers started asking what was it that we lost. We explain that they charged us but never brought back our card. He was in disbelief. They stopped looking for a bit and and my bf told him hey were not leaving until that card pops up. The man pulls out two more cards and says he has some from other customers that have left theirs behind. Told us we could come back and that he would look at the end of the night. We said no were not going look for it. My boyfriend starts looking through their things to find it and finds a stack of cards. Him thinking theyre business cards ended up being it was more customers cards. Idk what this place is into. Finally we said we were calling the police and then a cook comes from behind and says is it this one. My bf asked him were did you find it he said in the trash can. Never again are coming here and definitely never recommending this place. Beware.
MoreTypical Thai restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, good food.
Gf and i had our new years eve dinner there owner was cool let us inside to sit down to eat even though they were closing up waiting to get their last togo oick up orders outso they could be home to will be back ro eat again soon
MoreFood is cooked to order. Taste is consistently delicious. Prices are reasonable. Portion size a bit small but very tasty. One of my favorite Thai food places.
Moreordered a thai tea and two sticky rice with mango and was charged $23.00. The sticky rice was about 4.00, but I was charged $9.00 for each sticky rice. They said they went up, but I dont think they went up $5.00 for a small portion of sticky rice w/mango. Its not worth the price for a small portion. 1 entrée cost $9.00. I think they are trying to make up for what they lost during covid. They are not loyal to their customers, they are cheating their customers. They dont give receipts unless you pay with card. That is a good way to lose customers. They lost me as a customer. I found another thai restaurant. Nearby.
MoreActually would rate as a solid 4.5 for all around food and service. Great selection and very good portions. Friendly and attentive service. Am glad I finally tried this place and am definitely going back soon to try more tasty items.
MoreGARBAGE 🗑 crispy wontons are as crispy and thin as a Dorrito. The menu claims to have veggie and pork in wonton. It only contained a cherrio size piece of Jerky. Very disappointing. Mongolian beef was such a small portion considering how expensive it is and isnt even high quality beef. Larb chicken was dry. Pad see ew was tagged as most popular and I see why it was the cheapest in price on menu and actually only decent thing I ordered. I would have went to pick up sticks if I wanted bad Thai food.
MoreYikes. Bad experience. Although in the midst of a pandemic with signage stating masks are required lone customer next to checkout maskless and staff person with mask hanging below neck. Grr. Additionally. Chicken Pad Thai was tasteless and worst Ive ever had. Oh yes. " Wheres the Chicken" A piece or two.. Not going back
MoreThis place is over priced for the low quality of Thai food there making!!! I bought two dishes for $25 and it was a waste of money and I was Soo disappointed!!! I bought a chicken satay plate with fried rice the chicken was burned and didnt have a good taste of it and the"shrimp fried rice" it was not fried rice and they just added two pieces of shrimp on top!! And I got them Mongolian beef plate with fried rice there was like five pieces of meat in there and they were so tiny just mixed around with a lot of vegetables it was not appetizing at all and the rice was super dry and when I asked for extra sauces the girl kind of gave me a hard time Ive eaten in a lot of Thai restaurants and this one I just wouldnt recommend!!
MorePossibly the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Tasteless- pad Thai had no onions or bean sprouts, peanuts were old. Fried wontons were burnt. Took it back, won’t give me my money back. Got fried rice instead-same tasteless. Lost $20. Never going back.
MoreGreat food but no indoor dining everywhere is open and not them
Go here often and have been doing so for years now. Owner and his family are awesome people, they know us well, love my kids, and seem to always remember what we like or may feel like eating. No bad dishes on the menu that I have tried. And I think I have tried nearly every dish there is. I love papaya salad, black pepper shrimp/ribs/salmon. Lunch plates and dinner plates are they way to go if you want a deal. Love these guys!
MoreTheir crispy pata is sooo good...crunchhy. cheaper than any restaurant i used to buy it from. Good size too
MoreI love this place! I’ve been going to uncle Tim for Thai food since I was a little boy. The food here is amazing! You definitely have to try it.
MoreThey failed me . =[ portions were not even for one person. Shrimp chow main had more veggies than noodles. Rice has no flavor whatsoever. Pad see ew had 5 pieces of broccoli. I was better off getting Chinese food. This didn’t serve 4 people. Can’t believe this. Did I order half portions ??? If so tell me next time!!
MoreI ordered the Larb one of my favorite Thai salads. It was tasteless, dry and served with lettuce instead of cabbage. I had about 4 tablespoons of Larb and 3/4 container of lettuce. I will never go back. I usually go to Cozy Thai or Sanamluang but was in West Covina and wanted to try, bad mistake
MoreCame on a Friday night. The food here is amazing. The plate was called Spicy Basil? But it was my favorite. although every plate that came was great. The staff was the cherry on top. Very attentive and accommodating. Also Forgot my take out box n they RAN out to make sure I didnt forget it. Will come back for sure!
MoreThis place pretty decent quiet clean foods are great and reasonable price my FAV here is the bbq chichen & their Pad thai.
MoreThe Pad See Ew was way too sweet and was lacking the smokey flavor. The fried rice was bland and way too dry.
MoreGreat food, wish the portions were larger but overall excellent place
Quality has improved and is getting better! For awhile I had to stop going there because the quality of the food was lacking. Spare ribs were skimp and chicken was dry. But lately its becoming how I remember the food from back in the days.
MoreDistinct flavors that are all their own!Favorite place to eat anything Curry! Family style variety of dishes meant to share! Thai iced tea is a favorite and only beverage of choice. Try some in or order out!
MoreBest Fried Crispy Pata (pork legin town
This is a awesome thai food restaurant to eat at. Price of the food is good and portions are good. This place is located in a shopping center with other eateries and stores. Parking is good. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The inside looks like a normal restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone to eat at. Happy hour is 3pm to 6pm.
MoreI know theres many Thai restaurants around, but this has to be one of the best ones around. I enjoy the dinner/lunch plates they offer and the portion size. It is not affiliated with a chain, but a bonafide mom & pop Thai restaurant!! Highly recommend!!!
MoreLove Uncle Tims been going there since they opened a few years back they have the best barbecue chicken and fried rice thats their signature plate you have to try
MoreGreat place! Comfortable and very friendly comfortable service. Food was great and portion was decent. I got ribs and shrimp fried rice my bf got wonton soup we shared everything and it filled us up!
MoreLove the food here the Spicy Kee Mia is one of many delicious dishes. A must try!Love the owner is very Cool and Friendly
MoreDelicious food. Friendly staff.
Great food & I can have a beer to wash it down! Next step for me to give a 6 star is add an IPA or 2 as an option hahaha
MoreThis is one of our favorite Thai restaurants to go to. Weve known Tim (ownerfor a long time now, hes a very friendly guy and remember faces well. Our favorite dish is the garlic pepper short ribs, cant stop thinking about it. I even order and additional dish of it for my next day lunch. Being Filipino, they offer "Crispy Pata," a deep fried pork dish that is common in the Filipino culture. The other authentic thai dishes are delicious as well. The restaurant is nice and big with plenty of parking. The patrons seem to be regulars who bring in their family to celebrate something, as well as pick up orders for take out meals. I highly recommend this place and you will not be disappointed.
MoreTim, the owner of the restaurant" is a pretty nice guy. Takes his time to get to know the customers, esp. if your a regular. Food tasted amazing, and the sweet sauce they have goes with everything! Worth the try most definitely. Lunch is pretty cheap with loads of food. Top favorites here are the BBQ chicken plate, and garlic spare ribs...
MoreOne single piece of bacon inside of the ground pork wontons!!!! Really!!!! You cannot pass this off as ground pork. You fried then chopped up bacon, placing ~one~ piece inside of a wonton!!!! What!!!! #Refundplease
More3/22 friday @ 4pm... completely dead, empty, sadprice wise: about $1 or $2 more per dish than the average spotservice wise: lagging a bit - I wanted more water.proportions: were smaller than averagetaste / flavor: the food was lacking flavor & spice. tea was pure sugar.environment: dated, dark, with dusty fake flowersthere is no ambience, acoustic nor scent. the pad thai dish i ordered smelled off putting/ old. the pepper onion dish my guest ordered had no spice. the thai tea was extremely sweet 2x a boba. The servers seemed predisposed and annoyed by us just being there.if this is your idea of good eating, you need to explore more. abandon ship.
MoreI usually get the BBQ chicken or ribs. The sauce is pretty good, and adds a unique flavor to the dish. They give a good amount of chicken on the plates so prepare your stomachs!
MoreFood was ok. Customer service was terrible. Seemed like they only paid attention to people they are used to. The main guy Tim came out and greeted everyone else except us. The server only took our order and brought the check after I waved her down
MoreRestaurant is beautiful and feels cozy. The taste is delicious and good quality food. The food is consistent and never disappoints. Quiet music.
MoreMy family and I always come here to eat Thai Food! It is absolutely the best! We all love it❤
MoreMy go to place for great Thai food. Its amazing how not so many people know about this place but I love it.
MoreLove coming to this place when craving some crispy pata. And yes its one of the best places to have Thai food and crispy pata. First they have a nice open area with plenty of free parking. Second they have a good size restaurant to serve guest .
MoreGreat food, good price, average service. The managers get really upset at doing basic math, so try to make your ticket easy for them to compute. Go somewhere else if you can find a robot to cook your food and compute your bill at $15/hour.
MoreThis place is pretty awesome. My usual is the Chicken Pad Thai and Thai Coffee with boba.Delicious!
MoreDammm good!!! I always get the yellow curry (chicken, potatoes, and carrots), white rice, and some kind of soup... PERFECT every time the Thai tea on point, price is good, and the owner "uncle tim" will come out and ask u how is the food. A great touch to an already amazing meal... A gem in west covina. go try it out and mon. - fri. lunch specials
