Uncle Pete's Pizzeria - Pizza restaurant in Cork, Ireland
Went here for a spot of lunch on stage Paddys Day and it was a lovely wee place. Food was delicious and portion was large. Menu is huuge and has a great selection from sandwich to salads to baguettes. You wont be disappointed. Girls are happy to help and well mannered. Thanks folks. If Im ever back in cork Ill pop round again. Cool art work on the walls btw. Very fitting.
Unfortunately food is very average. In the photo warm chicken salad, it was edible but honestly nothing special. Minestrone soup was OK but cream consistency with only a few chunks in there, I was expecting nothing to be creamed like in other places. Taste was OK and bread with it was delicious. However cajun chicken pizza was one of the worst pizzas weve ever had, the bbq sauce on it absolutely ruined it and there was... 6 pieces of chicken on the whole pizza. Toilets are designed only for skinny kids I think, no chance a bigger person could fit. Staff were friendly and professional. We were sitting outside and they have heating there
Love the food here , always consistent, only problem was we waited well over half an hour for our main course as they got caught up with takeaway orders but they didnt charge for drinks, lovely staff and in my opinion the best pizzas around
We ate here today, food was divine as always. Lovely place to go for a bite to eat, they have a good range menu and their prices are very reasonable.Service is excellent and the waitress today was so nice and friendly. While you wait for your meal you can pass down the short wait by looking at their really cool decor (its all iconic movie posters)Recommendation: What ever meal you get, as a side order get the twice fried chips with mozzarella, absolutely delicious.
For an eat out experience the prices and portion sizes here are pretty good, the staff are great, the place is well kept and the menu has a good variety of items.Ive been here quite a few times and I would say the food can be hit it miss at times but over all Ive had good experiences. However upon my multiple visits here I have noticed that the meals with steak in them tend to be quite chewy and honestly not great over all. I can see this is reflected in other reviews also. The other big down side here isnt related to the food however, more so the location. While its in the city center and in a busy area, unfortunately its next to a side street that attracts addicts and alcoholics as well as folks begging for money. So while the option to be able to eat outside is nice in itself, the nearby environment tends to be a little off-putting.
Only went to get a small salad before dinner (we were STARVEDand oh my word, we cant wait to return to Cork to have a full dinner in Uncle Petes! Staff were good, polite and the food came at a good timing. But the salad - WOW. Just gorgeous!
Unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience with them. They provided the food which my partner and I ordered @ Jim Cashman’s pub (just across the alleyand their portion of chicken tenders and chips was tasting like fish - it was impossible to eat.
Awful food for the price especially. Chips taste old and microwaved! Steak is chewy on pizza, pineapple is rock hard. Asked for still water and got sparkling
Had a pepperoni pizza which was okay.My partner wasn’t much lucky with the chicken tenders and chips - which were tasking like fish. Cannot eat them. We do not recommend it.
Love this locally owned restraunt been a fan since they were ttake away only on Popes Quay before moving to Paul St continue to be a fan. They now have vegan and gluten free options. As all pizza is made to order its straight foward to swap out ingredients...
It was very good, food amazing, staff very friendly. And many gluten free options.
Great service, pleasant staff, Conor was our server. Pizzas there were to die for. You can taste the freshness of everything.
Their vegan pizza was the best Ive had. Very polite and friendly staff too. Would highly recommend.
Top class pizza, friendly and attentive staff, good atmosphere and seems to be very well managed. Good job done here at Uncle Petes!
We loved our meals and the staff were incredible friendly and helpful. Especially Roisin, our server. This is going to be our regular lunch whenever we come to Cork.
Overcharged us for the vegan pizza - even though the menu suggests that you can choose 3 toppings included in the price of the pizza, we were charged extra for each topping. Also, we were charged 2.50 for tap water labeled on the receipt as a fizzy drink. When we tried to complain to the waiter he told us that the menu is the menu and besides, he cant change the price on the system so we have to pay the overcharged amount. He even threatened to increase the price by adding the price of more toppings. The food wasnt even that good and the portions were small. We ended up paying 32 euro for barely anything. Will definitely not come back.
LOVE THIS PLACE . Food is good . Very child friendly. Good price. Good serving sizes. Really like it and as I said especially with a child. Chikd portions are good
Sat at a table covered in plastic that was creased and dirty underneath. Order took ages, and then the lasagne was cold. The loos are just unacceptable. Chefs were not wearing masks. Staff were friendly, didnt charge for the lasagne, but bad experience after many great visits.
My family and I just loved this place. The pizza and the staff were both excellent. My wife and I ordered the garlic bread with cheese and the pesto pizza and couldn’t believe our luck to just randomly pick a place that was as excellent as this.
I was here with my wife and served Crostini starter, which was delicious, I ordered Big Cheese pizza for my wife and American Hot pizza for me.Very tasty but the pizza dough was very thin and very dry and crunchy.Friendly waiter served me immediately with chilli oil when I asked.Overall it was ok but i suggest them to improve the pizza dough recipe.
Very good experience in Cork. Good Pizza, good chips and fabulous cheese cake! Very nice staff, kind and friendly. The price was ok, nice quality/price rating.
Very nice chicken wings great customer service some of the best fries Ive ever had pizza was fine the cheese was very slippy and every time I took a bite it fell off needed to be cooked more.
Went here as was recommended by another ceoliac, really liked the gluten free base and didn’t get contaminated! The server was also very nice, I had ordered a diet drink and when she brought out a full sugar drink she had no issues replacing it with water instead due to diet restrictions. My friend got the pesto chicken, chips and a drink for €17.70 and said it was delicious. However, €15.50 for a gluten free pizza, no matter how good, is a bit steep and I wouldn’t return readily due to that. I ordered the Hawaiian Special for one, which is listed on the menu as €12. €3.50 as a ‘gluten free tax’ is unfair.
Worst pizza I have ever eaten. Tasteless, burnt and pretty sure it was a pre baked base. Taco fries were also bland. Very suprised that people have been giving this establishment high ratings.
This place was absolutely delicious! The menu had a huge selection apart from just pizza and had lots of gluten free and vegan options. I had a gluten free pizza and it was amazing! The base itself was really good especially for being GF and is one of the best pizza bases I have ever had. The pizza as a whole was absolutely delicious! The staff are also very nice and the decor is very fun and atmospheric without the place seeming like a kids club. Don’t judge this place by its looks, it has some of the most amazing pizza I’ve ever had
Burgers are da bomb. The chips were crispy, and the burger was VERY filling. I had the Clonkilaty burger with the black pudding on it and i added a little tomato relish. Very meaty and flavour full. Along with the meal you get a nice little side salad with a balsamic dressing. My friend got the italian job burger and she quite enjoyed hers as well. She said there was loads of mozzarella.
If I was Italian I will feel very insulted. The Margarita pizza had the texture of cardboard and it was flavorless. We also ordered wedges and obviously they were cooked in another time and reheated in the microwave. Soggy and watery inside.A very bad experience not to be repeated.Worst standards than a pizza chain company.
As a Vegan with allergies to Gluten, this place was perfect and their pizza is lovely. Great service too.
Upon arriving the place looked cozy and smelled really nice of basil. However, the waiter kept us waiting before we could order. When he arrived, he tried to memorise the whole order without writing it down. I wouldnt say he was the nicest. The food arrived lukewarm. Spaghetti tasted nice and I ate it since I was hungry after blood tests, but the oils and waters started splitting from the actual sauce, leading me to believe it was frozen and then reheated. The chicken salad arrived as a bowl of lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and chicken pieces thrown in. We found a lettuce CORE inside. The taco fries were soggy and morphed into a potato ball you had to pick at with your fork and the cheese was half melted and a bit greasy. Not once the waiter came up to us to ask if everything was OK.
Nice and cozy eatery with helpful staff. They have recently introduced a new vegan and vegetarian Menu -"Auntie Nonas Veggie Bar." I cannot get enough of this delicious food!! The vegan bbq chicken baguette and the vegan spaghetti bolognaise are my favourites. This menu is also available on deliveroo under the name Auntie Nonas Veggie Bar which is an added bonus!! cant wait to eat here again, it never fails to impress me and very reasonably priced too
Great service from the waitresses! They were very attentive! However, the vegan menu was very disappointing, I was given an undercooked panini with lettuce and pesto and it cost €10. My friends who ordered pepperoni pizza noticed the base was soggy.
Really lovely restaurant, not loud and relatively intimate. If youre going during prime lunch or dinner times you may have to wait for a table but its worth it! Best place for me (a meat eaterand my vegetarian coeliac friend to eat since they have good veggie dishes and all of their pizzas, pastas, burgers, and breads can be prepared as a gluten free option. Their pizzas are gorgeous, fresh and crispy and they have a range of craft beers that go down a treat.
Love this place! Wonderful pizza, excellent food, nice staff, good prices.
Who knew Cork has the best food and service combination in Europe by far!?! UNCLE PETES though is a very unique restaurant in the fact that 80/90% of the menu is gluten free and tastes and had texture that surpasses gluten containing food. I had a locally sourced Cider with a meat feast pizza that was nothing short of amazing. The cheesecake flavoured with Baileys and chocolate was great. As was the Rhubarb Pie, that was gluten free too with a pastry that was gorgeous. The service was efficient and friendly. I am going to be back in Ireland and in Cork as the food, the drink and the atmosphere is the best in Europe
I ordered the following for me and my wifeOne pepperoni pizzaOne side of chipsTwo cokesNot to much of a fan of the pizza, it was a bit soggy and generally over cooked on the top.I wouldn’t recommend the pepperoni pizza but some of the other items that people were ordering (like the spaghetti and the dessertslooked great. The atmosphere was pretty cool.Wouldn’t recommend the pizza but definitely try some of the other options.
My husband and I were sadly disappointed, it may be what we ordered, not sure.We had a pepperoni pizza, and some chips to share. I know we kept it basic with the pepperoni, but it was very average tasting. The crust was soggy and undercooked, it also tasted very frozen like, and not fresh.the atmosphere is very nice and romantic feeling though.Maybe Uncle Pete was tired today, not sure. I still recommend going, but maybe dont do the pepperoni pizza.
Best lamb Irish stew so far in Cork!😋Served with a nice tasty French merlot glass.♿️
Very cosy and great food. Im gluten free and that was absolutely no problem here, had a nice stew and some beautiful gluten free apple pie. Will definitely visit again when Im in town.
AMAZING. The pizza they serve is not like the pizza you find back in the USA or Canada. This is the kind of traditional pizza they would serve in Italy. I don’t usually like thin crust but this pizza was worth it. The right amount of cheesy. My boyfriend is delighted that it’s called “Uncle Pete” because that’s his name and he’s an uncle to the sweetest toddler that we visited with while in Ireland. I highly recommend tasting the pizza here.
The food was acceptable for a quick bite. I ordered a steak potato salad because it sounded interesting to me. The salad dressing, lettuce and potato was good however the steak was dry and chewy.
Went there with my 2 children. Kids menu is great value. I had a burger and my eldest had a gluten-free pizza. The food was lovely and overall great value.
Great place with kids. Very friendly, not expensive and food is good.
Average at best compared to pizza in other dedicated pizzerias or even Sober Lane. Its horrendously overpriced for the size of the pizza too. We got side plates that still had remnants of old tomato sauce on them. Was not impressed at all. Service was good though so the rating is higher in that respect. Dont be going back though. Prices should be 20% lower for the quality and casual nature of the restaurant.
Very good service, great ambiance and the food delicious! Lots of vegetarian options
Dry good spaghetti and meatball meal. It was 10.95€. There were plenty of meatballs in the dish and the spaghetti was a good portion as well. The sauce was decent and had red pepper flakes in it as well. It gave it a little kick and taste good. I also got the garlic bread and it was only 1€ extra. It was crunchy and tasty! Definitely recommended.
I have been coming here for years. Time and time again, I am impressed with Uncle Petes. The falafel salad is probably my favourite salad in Cork. Of course, the pizza is great too. My latest obsession is the chicken wings, they are arguably the best in Cork for the quality and quantity of them. Very reasonably priced!
Fantastic little spot, go much more than pizza. The specials and desserts are really great and the staff are very helpful. A must go eatery for anyone with allergies, especially coeliac or gluten intolerance, they have both pizza and pasta to suit as well as beers and desserts. All nutritional info is available for anyone who is counting calories or macros too
Just walking around and I happened to fine this gem. This place offers real deal Irish food. Staff is welcoming. I had the bruschetta and the lamb stew. Everything was fantastic. If your visiting Cork, you should stop hear and grab lunch!
We had pizza this afternoon there. One of worst weve ever had... It should not be called Italian pizza at all! The bottom was very light, the mozzarella was awful. In addition our table was beside the toilet and toilet door were constantly opened - imagine the smell. So I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.
Nice pizza. The 9" size was way too Small. They didnt Offer a chair yo wait for my "take away". I would recommend to eat there. Seems nice
