Comfy, time-tested eatery with nostalgic American fare, plus beer & wine, in kitschy surrounds.
We ended up here instead of the Original House Of Pancakes. We didnt realized the place we was looking for was right around the corner. The food was ok. Even the waitress suggested the food around corner is slightly better. So if your lookimg for the Original house of Pancakes, its just past this place around the corner. Go there. Lol
We hadnt been here in awhile and they didnt disappoint. Everything was very good. I had the potato pancakes and they were excellent! They were served with butter, sour cream, a strip of bacon and apples. My husband had one of their omelets which he thoroughly enjoyed. Apparently a lot of others are enjoying their food as well since we actually had to park on the side of the building due to how busy they were on a MONDAY! We decided that we will be going back again more often.
My husband and I stopped in and had the New York omelet. The eggs were so fluffy. It was absolutely delicious.
Very nice little breakfast joint, beautiful interior, great food, and can ACTUALLY poach eggs!
The service was fast and friendly. The quantity was generous. The only thing that needs improvement are the pancakes.cooked right but not much flavor..Everything else was good.
Clean family friendly environment decorated with lots of interesting antiques. Very large portions of food!
Great food. Great service. Decent prices. Great selection. Will go again. Was recommended to me and I definitely recommend to all. I was not disappointed.
Honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant, food was great but Jenny M treated us horribly. So bad that we just got to go boxes and left.Never had a server speak to me like that.
Great menu. Tons of pancake options. Great coffee. Pancakes can almost be eaten without syrup they are so good. Also friendly staff. They were super busy on a Saturday morning and was still quick with service.
This place is extremely busy and parking can be a bit like trying to park during Black Friday Sales!! our waitress wasnt as friendly as I would have wanted, she was just go go go and didntgive you a second to ask any questions... she made up for it when she was asked by 3 of the 4 ppl at our table to give them the check. Once she brought the check she said Im not getting in this fight and she just tossed it on the table. Of course I won the fight and gave it to the rightful owner..lmbo.. the food was good though. She did say the are doing away with the flavored syrups so that was sad for some patrons. The pancakes were good which I load my eggs over medium on top off and i eat them that way. Mom had corned beef hash with eggs which was good. Aunt had a waffle and sausage.
Amazing food. Their fried mushrooms are amazing! Great staff
Normally this place is amazing! We stopped in for breakfast & particularly the pancakes!! The medium eggs were hard & cold. They replaced them. The pancakes where thick & more like a Frisbee. Kinda tough! Sausage gravy(sparse &cold& biscuits..Might have had a new cook 🍳 🤔 the food server may have been new as well. Normally rate this place as 5 🌟s! Love the place though! ❤️
Great local breakfast & lunch spot. Exceptional value, big portions that are always served hot & with a smile. Staff areawesome & prompt in their service too. One of my favorite spots for breakfast.
It was ok. Food wasnt bad, but there was no air circulation! Was so hot couldnt eat.
I went there last Saturday for breakfast. It was my first time. The omelet was great but the pancakes were amazing and I will be coming back often
For decades, my college fraternity met here on Wednesdays initially as freshman and still do so even into their 60s. Great tradition. Great guys.
The old school American dinner is back! Great service, good coffee, the waffles were amazing. Even the Uncle John Potatoe was good. My first there, cant wait tongo back.
The food was really good and the service was even better. Everyone was genuinely friendly. You could tell it was a standard for service. I was in town. We drove from MD for an event in the area with my family (5and needed somewhere different. Again thank you
Great place for a quick breakfast or lunch. Limited menu but what they have is very good. Fast service. Parking can be a problem at times.
Horrible...I ordered a Greek omlete. It came out with a huge pile of dark yuckycanned tomatoes and asparagus which made the top of the omlete soggy and just a tiny bit of feta cheese..and I mean like a dusting.I was thinking well there must be more inside of the omlete...NOPE nothing...nothing inside...JUST GROSSand then my toast was so burnt I couldnt eat it. My husband ordered pancakes and corn beef hash...which was served with again CANNED peaches that were all discolored...inedible.I had the young lady waiting on us take my omlete back and bring me pancakes. She was pleasant and the pancakes were good.As we were waiting to recieve our food we noticed that 3 of the tables around us just left there food on the table ...not even half eaten. I was like what the heck thats ALOT of food wasted. I thought it was odd...until I got mine. LolWont be back..to many good breakfast choices in that area.
This place looks great. Lots of wood in the main dining room as well as various things hanging for the ceiling and walls. Overall there is a very homey feeling. The food however can be considered basic and really no different then what you find at an iHop. The pancakes are a box mix, the syrup is the basic corn syrup based breakfast syrup, and the "butter" they give with the pancakes is margarine. Now if you dont mind this then go for it. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and cooked perfectly. I also had some corned beef hash and while it was from a can it was crispy and very enjoyable. If youre looking for fresh made pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup go elsewhere. But if you want a cheap breakfast with the family that satisfies then this is the place to go.
Didnt take any photos my blood sugar was low when I was here my girlfriend is trans mtf and they addressed her as sir instead of Miss and were very disrespectful to her not an LGBT friendly restaurant and will never ever ever go there again extremely disrespectful waitress
2 stars for the speed and accuracy of the order. Our waitress was good. My opinion, I just wasnt thrilled with the food itself and how crowded the dining area seems.
Terrible service with mediocre food. We got sat right away, sat at our table for 30 minutes waiting on our waitress, another 15 waiting on drinks, another 10 waiting on my wife’s drink that was forgotten, another 5 waiting for our waitress to come back to take our order, 10 minutes for our food to come out and another 20 after we were done eating for our check. The food was ok, but not great. If you are bold enough to put Pancake in your business name, you better have good pancakes. Mine were tough on the outside, raw on the inside, and flavorless other than the blueberries. Definitely would not recommend. I gave them 2 stars for the decor, it was neat.
The breakfast was 5⭐. The John potatoes are a must have. The pancakes are fluffy and mosit. The melt in your mouth kind. Bacon was cooked perfect. The eggs however we just ok. The staff was friendly quick and efficient. They had a full restaurant the whole time.
For some reason the pancakes were hard to cut with my fork and also were flat tasting. My wife said the same about her pancakes. Also for some reason my wifes pancakes were 50 percent larger than mine. Go figure.
Had a great breakfast at a record low price. Melanie, my waitress,, was so pleasant and helpful.in helping.be decide my.entrie..i love.the.way they honor us veterans with.10% discount.
Great food, I gave 4 stars for the missing condiments or eating utensils with my takeout orders now I just double check my bag before leaving
The food is ok I guess it really depends on the taste of people. Many recommended this place saying it was great. But lets say it how it should be. The food is good and nothing more. Unfortunately waiter this days are all in a bad mood, it really makes the experience worse. If you dont like your job look else where. That is what happened to us at this place. Wont comment more about it.
Food was delicious. Service excellent. Prices very fair. Will definitely come again. Pancakes were not fresh though. Didnt like that for a pancake house.
This place is super good! The prices are great and the food is even better.i really like their pancakes as well as their Philly sandwiches, I would totally reccomend this place to anyone.
Little diner feel. Waitress was kind, and the food was priced well. I went with B&Gs, eggs, and French toast. Eggs were eggs. B&G’s we’re pretty good, but the French toast was delicious. I’m in town for the marathon, but I’d come here again if I were back in town. A good mix of local patrons and out-of-towners. Nice kid’s menu, plenty of parking, and I didn’t have to wait for a table.
OUR FAVORITE FAMILY OWNED BREAKFAST SPOT! Their breakfast specials rom 7-10am are a great value. We love all of the neat historical items they have and the staff is always spot on. THANK YOU FOR RUNNING SUCH AN AWESOME RESTAURANT! God Bless!
The food is good, and the price is fair. The coffee is great.I went there about two weeks ago and the wait staff was absolutely horrendous. When i asked the hostess for a high chair that straps, she just said "no." Honestly just had to laugh at that. The waitress that walked up to the table as I was settling my son in the high chair was so rude I actually got mad about it.Thank God she didnt want to serve us, which I overheard her loudly state because the next waitress was a lot nicer.Went again yesterday and didnt get a single refill on my coffee and the wrong food for my son, waited until I had to leave for a condiment I asked for before my food even came. And I really think they need to buy all new high chairs because the reason I had to leave was because they again gave me one that doesnt stay strapped.I would think they would want to get on that safety concern.
The server was grumpy but she got all of our stuff. The food was alright, could be better if they salted my hash browns and eggs.
The food was delicious for breakfast fair. The service was top notch, almost at the point of being annoying. Everything was wiped clean.. Often. I dont know how John free it was common but it certainly was wiped well. Help. They actually have real Maple syrup erupt as opposed to the high fructose Corn syrup imitations
Love eating breakfast here. Nice amount of portions on plate. Everything taste fresh & good . Waitresses are fast & very friendly. The fried mushrooms are really delicious!
Amazing place, loved it food was great, service was great, smiles were even better definitely recommended.
A real old school breakfast place with a homey vibe. Service was good but my eggs Benedict was better.
We were visiting Toledo and stopped here for breakfast based on their Tripadvisor rating. Very unique décor. Pecan pancakes were very good. My wifes German crepe was AMAZING. Service was very friendly. The combination of food and service may be enough for us to make the two hour drive just for breakfast one day!
Its ok. We used to go Uncle Johns quite often a few years back. The restaurant is not the 5 star it used to be
American pancake house with a huge variety of items on their menu. Loved the sandwich I tried it was huge and could not finish it! Loved their mashed potato with gravy it was so good! Will be back to try some more items on my next trip!
From out of town, wanted to find a nice place for breakfast before leaving. Unfortunately we were greatly disappointed. We ordered the corned beef hash with eggs and the special plate. The pancakes came with a giant glob of oil based margarine that tasted like it came out of a vat. The corned beef tasted like it came from a can. The pancakes were good, coffee was good and waitress was friendly.
It was a very nice experience wait staff and owner alike where very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend take some pictures while your there .
Very yummy!! I had the German omelet with pepper jack, pancakes, and home style fries with cheese and onions. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the omelet was. Will be back
Great food, clean, great handling of the Coronavirus concern. Staff are all very friendly. Love their all you can eat fish on Friday.
If I could rate more stars, I would! The portion sizes were great, the food was spectacular, and the food came out fast! The chocolate chip pancakes were some of the best pancakes I have had at a restaurant in a long, long time. Will definitely be back!
Usually good breakfast, but I wish you guys would do better with the condiments, the weekends are better about having you’re condiments together but during the week I’m always missing something and my Greek omelet order with EXTRA FETA CHEESE was very disappointing to say the least chicken dry, no feta, and NOTHING INSIDE THE MF 🤔do better guys
Good place, good prices for a really good amount of food! I tried the eggs and chocolate chip pancakes which were absolutely fantastic! Eggs were perfectly cooked and the pancakes had just enough chocolate chips! My mom ordered the manhattan pancakes and johns potatoes and thought they were delicious except a little greasy. Nice atmosphere and good staff! first time trip here and i loved it!
Pancakes and eggs were good even when one order was for over easy and they were scrambled. The menu had a couple items listed that were no longer available to order. The meatloaf was plentiful on the plate but tasted like a compacted hamburger. I would eat breakfast foods again but was very put off by lunch/dinner items listed but not marked off the menu as no longer available.
