This was a pretty tasty truffle burger, with a side of onion rings. Solid lunch.

The food here is phenomenal! There are plenty of options for vegan/vegetarians and as a meat lovers I enjoyed the classic Cali Burger! The service was a bit slow and we didnt see our server too often, which is the only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars. The fries are also to die for! All in all, I recommend 👌

Time appears to be a consistent location for both myself and others at this location. Love the impossible burgers to death, but every time I order for pick-up I end up still waiting an additional 10 minutes for my order when it appears slow in the restaurant, and no one really communicates the status of my food. They also didnt differentiate/label my orders and I didnt know they were both wrong until after I left - no one confirmed what my food should have been before handing it over.

I had a regular beef burger last year at this place, tried the Impossible burger (100% veganthis year. Still very good, with excellent beer on tap.However, no good vibes this time: the neighborhood is gloomy and the place was near empty (on a Saturday night)...

The diablo chicken sandwich is SO spicy. It was delicious but maybe 2 notches too spicy. Umami always has delicious burgers. The sweet potato fries were also great!!

The FoodUmami, the taste of savory outside of sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. This is what Umami Burger got their name, and today I got a chance to visit their San Francisco location. My friend and I ordered the Maple Bacon Fries along with the Umami and Throwback. The maple bacon fries had a good taste to them. The sweet potato fries with maple braised bacon lardons and smokey bbq sauce is a good combo. The Throwback burger was good and pretty straightforward. It comes in 2 patties along with cheese, condiments, and sauce. My friend got the Umami burger, and it was not bad for her, except the parmesan frico slice was hard to eat.The MiscellaneousThe restaurant is quite spacious inside with plenty of seating as well as a bar area. The interior has some interesting decorations and aesthetics. The service was good and the staff was sincere. Their menu is standard across their locations, with same pricing. But the prices are a bit high when compared to most other burger places. Though it is worth a try with their wide selection of different burgers.

Great premium burgers, a little on the pricer side but better than typical restaurant burgers

Not worth the money. The burgers are mediocre, and the burger patties are surprisingly small for the price. Five Guys, Super Duper Burger, and Holy Grill are all better choices as they all offer burgers that are tastier and a better value. The sweet potato fries are the redeeming quality about this place—they are very good.

The impossible burger is so good!! I.t tastes great and is really satisfying. A little on the pricey side for a burger but its SF.

Ordered the "Umami Burger, Medium". Recieved undercooked, raw with 1 mushroom and 1 big onion slice. Looks disgusting.

Went here because it was open a bit later while waiting to catch train. Vegetarian option: salad - it was pretty delish. Casual easy going place. High ceiling.

Umami burger delivers consistent, solid food at a decent price.When entering Umami burger first you notice there is plenty of seating which makes sense given the location. The table is always just a tad smaller than you want but thats mainly fine. The food however is pretty good. I go back just because The Impossible Burger is too good to be ignored and every time I can I go I now get it because it is jaw dropping. Everything else Ive had is alright. The cheesy tots are good but could use more cheese, the fries are good as well. Overall I enjoy the place and while only one thing is noteworthy it is still a place I would highly recommend.

There isnt a single con when choosing to eat here, friendly and helpful staff paired with great food while being in a very relaxed and chill atmosphere is a 5 star combo. I got the manly burger and every bite was like an explosion of taste, the ingredients were fresh and the burger was perfectly cooked. I sampled the truffle fondue fries and my mouth is watering just typing those words. Quality taste to say the least. 100% worth a visit. Also vegan friendly!!!

Tuna burger rare. Truffle fries with garlic aioli. Delicious. Good local burger joint that is never too crowded.

Got the Impossible Trufflemaker. Gave it a try because of the hyped heme burger patty. It indeed tastes just like a beef patty! Pretty juicy, the truffle sauce and relish go really well together. The jalapeño relish was unexpectedly quite spicy, apparently the spiciness depends on the quality of jalapeños they get everyday. I had the umami ketchup on the side but I am not sure if this is how umami should taste like. To me, its a ketchup mixed with truffle. The waiter was very friendly, so its a bonus!

Had the Original Impossible Burger - wow. This is a great burger regardless of its origins. We dont get Impossible in the UK yet, so it was great to try the patty, but the miso spin these guys add to it was awesome. It was filling, but didnt leave me feeling heavy or greasy. Nice restaurant and I had a very friendly waitress. Can imagine this place having a great atmosphere on a game day. Would certainly recommend for their spin on the Impossible.

The impossible Burger was good. However both their tempura onion rings and cheese filled tots were severely lacking flavor!

Big fan of the impossible burger generally and the umami burger preparations particularly. The core product keeps getting better, more burger like. Nice outdoor seating, good sides, friendly service. Their other offerings are good as well, but give the impossible burger a try.

I ordered 2 truffle burgers and a fried Chicken sandwich. 1st truffle burgers I asked for medium well, came out rare. 2nd asked for well done, came out medium. Well done means no pink! Burger was flavorful but not cooked right. Size of burger were a bit bigger than a slider, very small. As for the fried chicken sandwich, pretty bland, no flavor. One of the most disappointing fried chicken sandwiches Ive ever eaten. Overall, way overpriced.Update from last time: Burgers were as ordered. They were delicious. Ordered the truffle burger, sunshine burger and truffle fries. Everything was good. Table service is a little slow though.

Really nice employees and the food was great. Ive come to this location twice and left happy both times. Usually when eating burgers and fries youd expect to leave the place feeling big and gross, but me and my friend left feeling great. You truly do feel a difference when food is organic and clean. Nothing bad to say!

Decent burger chain that has some good non meat options.Quick service and food is fast to come out as well.Plenty of seats but can get packed during game days.

The only reason this is getting 4 instead of 5 is that they need to improve their GF menu. The none GF food is great, but their lettuce is not the correct lettuce to use in lieu of a bun and they dont have a dedicated fryer for the fries. A few small changes and they could be a five! The actual patties are great though!

December 2018:Came back for lunch and tried the Asian Chicken Salad. This was a great tasting salad. Dressing was excellent. Will come back just for the salad. 👍November 2017:Ordered the impossible burger. Ive had it before at Gotts and the Umami version was not as good. The Caesar salad was good.

After waiting 40 minutes to get our food, what came out was a very small salad ($5 for couple leaves and cucumber), and two unbalanced thin-patty burgers. If you plan on having good food here, dont, it was a mediocre experience. I had better memories from the one in Los Angeles.

Seemed like an okay place to eat, not good nor bad. The waiters are nice, but you need to speak up to get their attention, despite there only being two other tables seated. With the cost, I was expecting there to be more than just the burger, like other restaurants, but for $14, there was a plate with a single burger. I ordered the Truffle burger, and it was really Truffle-y, to the point where it did not taste good. In addition, there was nothing on the burger except literally buns, meat, cheese, and truffle sauce. If there were other ingredients, such as some lettuce or tomatoes, that would have made the burger look more appealing and more tasty. However, since it was basically a patty melt, the truffle did overpower it. If you love truffle, then youll love that burger. I would not come here again as there are better burger places with better prices for what you get.

Great burgers, but much pricier than expected. The okra pickle was a nice touch. Unique but it did the job. While I did enjoy the food and service here, I dont think it was worth what I had paid for it.Great burger, great fries, debatable if its worth the price.

Food was good, not great, and mostly cooked correctly. The atmosphere was also good and our server was very friendly. Unfortunately, it took far too long to get our food and the prices are far too high for what you get. $14 for a hamburger. No fries. Cmon guys. How much is a potato?

The Umami Frenchie was delicious. I was planing to try the impossible burger but the frenchie looked way too good and the taste surpassed expectations. Recommended!

The burger and fries were sooooo good! I really wish I could give this place 5 stars. It’s near my house and could have been an outstanding experience but the service was just not up to the standards I expect. We had a very simple order but had to wait at least 20 minutes for our soda. The kitchen was super busy so I can at least kind of understand why the food took a while but we were disappointed in the level of attention to service.Still, if you have plenty of time and you’re not ravenous, it IS a good burger!

Had the truffle impossible burger and fries and a drink for around $25. A little expensive but really good! If you haven’t had the impossible burger and are looking to cut down on your carbon footprint, you need to try it. It tastes almost exactly like a beef patty, and the truffle oil adds some extra flavor. Staff was very prompt and the food came out quickly. I’ll definitely be back here again.

Came here for lunch with 7 people on a Tuesday. We arrived at 11:45am and sat down right away. In 30min the place was nearly full.The Impossible VBQ burger was great. As a big meat eater I was partially fooled. Felt and tasted like I was eating a burger cooked rare. Impressive!Also recommend checking out their different types of fries.

Overall extremely disappointing - food & service. Our order consisted of the manly burger, fried chicken sandwich, onion rings, and thin fries.The fried chicken was cut into three pieces which made it impossible to eat on one bun. Topped with coleslaw that felt like an afterthought.The manly burger was cooked accurately; its flavor combination was lacking.Fries had a decent taste & texture, but nothing special. Onion rings were the highlight of our meal - thick onions with a crispy batter.I cant even report that our server at least put forth a good effort. Our drinks came 10 minutes after being seated, which were then spilled onto our table because he was distracted. After that his serving was forgettable.

Did not meet my expectations at all. Service was very slow even though there werent a lot of people in the restaurant. It took them around 15 minutes before a server came to take my order. Food came fairly quickly however. The plating is great; the burger looks amazing when it finally gets to you. I ordered the falafel burger, and it was okay. The buns are very soft, and the patty is pretty unique. The other toppings also paired well with the burger, giving it a nice spicy kick. However, the burger keeps falling apart, especially the patty, so eating this burger is somewhat of a pain. Overall, the place is a bit overpriced for the service and food.

Great place to stop in for a fast and tasty bite. I particularly enjoyed the impossible burger. It tasted like real meat. If anything come in to try that burger.

I went here specifically for the Impossible Burger and was not disappointed. Seriously one of the best burgers Ive had - vegan or real meat. We sat outside following a Giants game and had great service. We washed our burgers down with a craft beer - and theres a wide selection from which to choose.

I think Ive eaten my favourite burger in the whole world here, the Ahi Tuna is just so amazing. Make a point of eating one whenever Im in town.

I really enjoyed myself here the atomsphere was relaxing (granted I went on a Sunday afternoon), the food was amazing and the service even better. I had the impossible burger which was totally worth its hype!! It was delicious, filling and original. The sweet potato maple bacon fries were a bit sweet for us but we still enjoyed them. The space itself is a bit crowded with tables and chairs but considering I saw them packed on a Friday night I understood why. We had great attentive servers and satbnear the bar. All in all one of my favorite burger places ever!

Great burgers in a open dog friendly location! My favorite was the KBBQ burger, and sweet potato fries with bacon!Parking is hard, but there are lots around. Patio is nice place to sit and is dog friendly. Service was a bit slow, but they were slightly understaffed, still friendly service.
