Animal sanctuary with lions, giraffes & more on display, plus children's rides & a play area.
An awesome experience with behind the scene package... Gregory was our guide and be was very knowledgeable, kind nd very helpful... made our journey much much more memorable and enjoyable... one must visit here to get the very unique experience.. it was my 1st time to visit any zoo and it was really goood... a bit expensive package but its worth it...
Myself and five others today had the chance to do the behind the scenes tour and I believe it’s one of the best things I’ve done in Uganda. It’s hundreds of dollars cheaper than a safari and you get close up encounters with 3 of the big 5 animals of Africa, and also rare birds, cheetahs, and giraffes. Our tour guides name was Thompson and he wasn’t only a great guide but he was also very passionate and the conversation work and had nothing but love and respect for the animals. We got to encounter each Big 5 animal of Africa. You get up close encounters with the giraffes, lions, and rhinos. You are also able to help the zoo keeper/tour guide feed the chimpanzees, rhinos, giraffes, and a visit in the enclosure of the very rare and very beautiful shoe bill stork.I cannot praise this place more on how well they treat their guests but also their ethics in which they treat their animals.
Amazing experience for the whole family. Animals are in semi freedom and close enough to be seen and admired. You can feed chimpanzees too. There is also a boat ride (20 min for 100K UGXand an amusement park for kids. We were told to buy disposable masks (1000 UGXthat nobody was wearing once inside? Otherwise, we really enjoyed visiting this park.
UWEC is a 10... Experienced guides and very passionate about the animals, zoo keepers give in their all to look after the animals. UWEC gives second chance and a semi natural environment to many animal species. My favorite are the chimpanzees, check them out
A place where you can find most of Ugandas wildlife and have enough time with them, studying their behaviors
Uwec zoo has alot of animals and bird species in a captive setting its a unique place that should be on your must visit on your first and last day in entebbe
It is always a new experience every time I visit. The environment just takes all my stress away.
Fun zoo. Decent selection of animals. The overall zoo experience is good. Really a good zoo for east Africa.
Absolutely enjoyable trip , we saw so many Animals.A very good enclosure and we had good views of all the animals
Very nice place to visit if you love animals and wild life. There is also a boat trip you can do along Lake Victoria. Definitely visit when you are in Kampala or Entebbe. Go a bit early, around 10 or 11 am before the crowds of people arrive in the afternoon. It will be more enjoyable. The entrance fee for non-African citizens is 15 USD.
I volunteered here, did think it was a conservation centre but after one day staying here I knew this was not true, it is a commercial run Zoo, the care of the Animals is not met, the cages are small and bad drainage lack of water and not enough food given, the baby elephant due to bad care has feet problems, it is lonely only walked once a week left most of the day on its own, the other older elephant not given enough company small enclosure, the lions are locked up for days on end, due to all the screaming children they are stressed, poor donkeys have 2 children one their backs all day long going round in circles and the poor camels had 5 children on at one time, in my eyes this is cruelty, the ducks, turkeys and chickens were locked up all the time and the poor rabbits as well full of wounds due to small cage and fighting, no hay or food all day, I actually broke down crying due to no concern about these poor animals, I told the vet and he said he knew, they have 3 vets but I don’t know what they actually do because the animals are not care for, I did tell them my views on what was happening the chimpanzee are kept in small cages and people pay to cuddle them which again is not what I’d expect of a conversation centre, lots of building work but not to improve the animals living conditions all for the visiting children, so the welfare of the animals is secondary so I would not recommend anyone who actually cares about wildlife to visit this place, I did hope they would stop the donkey and camel rides before I left but didn’t so I know the director has no intention of putting the Animals welfare first, the Rhinos are in a small enclosure with hardly any food cruelty the big animals should be moved to sanctuary that can meet their needs
The care of the animals is good. It needs a major scrub and clean though. All views (especially with a camerawere marred by year old cobwebs. 2 years ago I suggested they clean the windows in the snake area, still not done. I love the team and the idea. The new games are nice. But the wiring to every single cage needs a major scrub.
So attractive! A lot of wildlife species are available. The environment is generally conducive, allowing tourists to view the animals such as lions, giraffes, hyenas, buffalos, monkeys, and gorillas.
I felt like am at home...Kasese the home of climbing lions Queen Elizabeth National park.
I went there with my family and it was a well spent weekend. They have a range of wild animals, play area for children and a beach. Above all their tour guides are very good. I would encourage everyone one to visit and have a memorable experience especially with your family or friends.
My visit to UWEC was refreshing and a break from the city buzz. The collection of animals and birds is good.Theres a childrens playground to spice the childrens experience
It was a lovely calm natural place....the animals were a sight for a sore eye
2stars for seeing the animals. You can’t take clear pictures bcoz the fence is just too much. There’s sand everywhere on the walkway, probably could have built a pavement. The zoo looks poor it needs touch ups there and there. Plus there isn’t clear instructions for the paths. Receptionist/cashier was mean. Luckily we brought cash bcoz their card machines have not been working for 3 months
Great experience. I loved seeing all the beautiful children. Ive NEVER seen that many young children gathered in one site. Not even Disneyland. My only gripe is their credit/debit card machine didnt work. I had to leave the site, go to the mall, get cash, then come back. It was a bit of a pain in the butt. Anyone interested in going BRING CASH.
Beautiful, educational and well maintained place.
So perfect! It is a wonderful place!! All the animals: giraffe, lions, tigers... are really great!!
Very interesting place to vist with different local wildlife
We had lots and lots of fun the monkeys were our favourite soo friendly.Zoo is more interesting on weekends because have ever been there on a weekday and everything was boring.I went again on a weekend with my family and the experience was amazing.
Move in to UWEC and experience the best with Wildlife🐘🐅🦏🐆🐒 and more with Medical plants 🌿🌱Bravo to UWEC for the outstanding Job of sustaining and feeding animals under captivity. 👏👏👏
The wildlife sanctuary is good. Seen white Tiger, lions, leopard, cheetahs, zebra, giraffe, chempanzee etc. But it is very poorly managed. Lots of insect, bad smell and roads are not kept well. But overall it is nice place to hang out in Uganda with your loved ones, family and friends. I didnt found any good food court there but you will find small stalls inside the zoo. For kids, there is fun rides there to enjoy.
Its good to see different animals and they take care of rescued ones which is really good.
The tour guide was so helpful to us i really enjoyed walking around seeing those beautiful animals that have been rescued
A wonderful both recreation and study centre! With a wide range of wild life especially fauna surviving by a condusive equatorial climate. The place is made more comfortable by moist air blowing towards the place influenced by waves from Lake Victoria...
Great Experience looking at all this wildlife right next to you.The food at the beach was average though.
The places with entry fees of 15 usd for foreigners is fabulous. The highlight were the chance to view and feed bananas to chimpanzees. The first experience for us to witness these close relatives in person
Good place but price is high for forghner and mosy of animals is sleep most of time 😃😀😀😃 by the way not bad
A short distance from Kampala, easy to reach because of the Expressway, this wildlife centre is a BEAUTIFUL place to spend time in: the animals in natural environment, lovely green enclosures, very relaxed and contented-looking, and a great bar/restaurant at the edge of the vast lake. Its a MUST-DO trip. The staff very helpful and obviously committed to the care of the animals.
It is an equivalent of moving around Uganda in a few hours. From L.Mburo, to Queen Elizabeth, Murchison’s falls and Kidepo national parks, you have an overview right here at the Uganda WildLife Education Center - Entebbe Zoo…
Well maintained conversation centre and the animals looks like their happy in this habitat. Theres good amount of signage for you to explore this place on your own. You get to see good range of animals from Giraffes, camels, gazelles. eagle, crocs, rhinos and lions. Its good place to go out with kids and family and to have a good outing over the weekend. Overall had a good experience as I had visited this place with friends and got to see all the animals I wanted to in Uganda
This is an awesome place to spend a weekend and get to appreciate the existence of wildlife as you also have a good time with anyone 😀 😊 🙂.
Let your weekend be spent in this beautiful place. Take your kids, your loved ones and the amazing creatures that Uganda has. I can tell you, no regrets
Just a nice layout there are back trails but Im not sure if I was suppose to be on them ... it was fun nonetheless. Definitely a work in progress though.
Decent day out for the kids. Absolutely love the animals and the white tiger was a really cool surprise. Activities for the kids arent well organized and with most of the rides running on electricity, when that is off...its kind of a mess BUT definitely a worthwhile visit for the kids, even if for the animals alone.
Best place to enjoy Ugandas wildlife with various animals ranging from cats like lions, tigers, leopards to primates like chimpanzees among others
Let me warn you first, if you’re are a foreigner, they are going to charge you a lot of money. You can either negotiate with them or may be another good alternative is, not visiting them at all.I don’t know why I visited this place. May be because it’s lockdown and there’s nowhere else to go to pass some good quality time.I wouldn’t recommend this place for any kind of tourists because, this place has really very less to offer. Again this is coming from a person who’s not really a fan of zoo so you should note that too.I took out my camera with the longest lens that I had in my possession and barely used it.There’s a restaurant inside this ‘zoo’ place and, I don’t know why I found it really weird. That’s all!
There is a variety of wildlife to see, a childrens play area, beautiful gardens on the lake shore where you can relax while having a cold drink, fish and chips.
It is true that the place of animals is in rather than in captivity, however this magnificent zoo gives you an opportunity to see the animals up close. There are chimpanzees, monkeys, lions, leopards, pythons, rhinos, and many other animal species. Visiting the zoo will take you around 2 hours. Guides are there to give you more information about the time of the zoo and where the animals come from.
This place gives you a chance to see some of Ugandas wild animals, especially if you dont have enough time to visit the various national parks in the country. Its proximity to Lake Victoria makes it more fun, as you get to take in the glorious views of this lake too.
I had a wonderful time at this park! It was great seeing a lot of the same animals I saw at Murchison Falls National Park. 😁 We even got to throw bananas for the chimpanzees to eat! 🍌 The chimpanzees are SO SMART! 🧠The reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is because they made us purchase masks just to walk inside. Very strange that wearing masks were not enforced once we were inside. 🤷🏻♀️
Revamped, the people behind the transformation of the while place, the ideas, the design, the customer service experience in the bar restaurant is on point. You have done well, and so proud to support Ugandan
We had great wildlife experience..Especially new 2 tigers are the eye of the zoo. Very creative Playground with different activities for kids , In short its very peaceful and naturally relaxing place. Thanks to zoo staff and management for looking after all the animals. They all look healthy and active..
Uganda wildlife Conservation centre is located at Entebbe which is not so far from Kampala. You can do a 1 day trip frim Kampala and can visit zoo and do boat cruise and relax. Zoo is very well maintaned. They are diverse animals including white tiger. Animals including Tiger, lion, Rhino, chimpanzee, leopard, several birds, giraffe etc.
I came here as a child so being able to bring my own child here was a delight. He absolutely loved it. We hired a guide to accompany us and tell is all about the animals and where they are from, how they are cared for e.t.c and that was so much added value also at a very fair price for the amount of time he spent with us. After doing the rounds there was also a restaurant and a playground so we spent the entire day here in entebbe. A great experience.
Very warm with a great diversity of wild life. Its an experience worth your time. With a cool water side, it makes one lovely family outing. And just to think we were not gonna have the Tigers.. It so happens we got 2...
First of all, I have been amazingly surprised by the number of animals present there (even the 🦓 is there). It was nice to see how the work is going on there to improve the environment of the animals. Secondly, I want to mention that our guide tour #Emmanuel was just amazing, knowing perfectly is work, transmitting his positive energy, and his care for the animals. Great staff.Knowing that, by next month a tiger 🐯 will be there, I will definitely go back there.
