Uganda Equator - Historical landmark in Masaka, Uganda
It is full of life, people staying around there are always welcoming!
Its cool always to visit new places
Its exactly behind Uganda equator photo booth line..Just near restaurant equator is there..There are three small pots where the concept of equator will be explained by the guide and if you want the certificate then the cost of it will be 10000 UGX..In the equator line the object will not rotate rather it will directly fall and in the right and left pot the object will rotate clockwise and anticlockwise..There is a good market of local items nearby..
I crossed an equator line third time in my travel experience, great feelings , another places marked and moving forward for some new places . P.S my friend looks so gorgeous isn’t she ? 😁
A place to stop for geographical expirience and have coffee
Simple equator monument dotted with several craft shops and eateries. stop, take photos and maybe buy a souvenir
Good place with hood loving kind people
Quite a few souvenir shops, enough to spend in and really nice photoshoot spot, watch for traffic though
Quite an experience standing at this location. Couldnt get any science experience done but to know that you are standing where the earth splits in two is amazing.Location is dotted with stalls selling arts and crafts from the area and various other memorabilia. However, the place could be organised better seeing the great tourism value it holds. The road should be cleaner and the two points on either side of the road properly stationed.
It was a good experience, many shops to buy some items and a good number of restaurants around there so be sure to easily find a place to grab something to eat. You can also take pictures of the equator.
This is the best place in terms of ambiance and food.
So much fun to experience the coriolis force in the notthern emisphere, then three meters south spinning the opposite way and i.5m north, on the equator, bot spinning at all! Also the tea was nice
Its a fancy feeling being at the center of the globe and it is a very magical experience having one leg in the Southern hemisphere, another leg in the Northern hemisphere and your head at the center with 0 latitude
Nice place with some craft shops around
Great place to visit
This has been my best experience so far. I was literally at the center of the world. The tutor Mr. Muwonge was very good he took us through the water experiment which shows how forces act in the different hemispheres. In the south the water moves in an anticlockwise direction in the North the water moves in a clockwise direction. The place also had many craft shops for those looking for souvenirs and a nice little restaurant for those looking for a quick bite. Hygiene was also great with great customer care. Am looking forward to visiting again.
Its a 4star rating to me..it was good to be there and enjoy everything.hospitable people around
Great place for souvenir shopping and to grab a bite to eat. Watch the display of water going a sink its fascinating.
It was nice. Especially watching water experiments for both northern and southern hemispheres, rotating clockwise and anti-clockwise directions. Was later given a certificate.
We hired a driver set up by our hotel, the drive was long from Kampala, but so worth it. The egg experiment was great, but just being at the center of the world is awesome. There is local shopping authentic African food, which I highly enjoyed.
Cool. Nice water experiment.
How often does one pass by the equator? For most people, not often. Shopping here is very nice as well. Kind and pleasant shop keepers. Good prices.
Nice stopover for lunches and shopping handcrafts made
Its always a memorable experience crossing and stopping at the Equator. If you havent been there you should. Theres a way it just feel knowing you have crossed it.
Quick stop for a photo opp.
As you leave Mpigi towards Masaka along Masaka-Kampala highway is one of the equator crossing points in Uganda. Though the site is not developed on purpose, it has a restaurants and crafts shop tailored around tourism. If you passby, you wont fail to see the water troughs with magical flowers rotating in different directions depending on which side of the equator one is. Personally, I couldnt help eating on either side of the spectrum and the equator restaurant serves wonderful pizza and related foods in such a cool and lovely space. It is a worthwhile stopover as one goes to make safaris in the west of Uganda.
A fantastic busy centre with the equator both on the right and left side of the road.A place for buying yourself awesome aticraft..
Good area
Nice place to stop with muzungu prices
Its history behind, the art and tradition of the shoos
Its majestic to experience this place
Its a good place
Nice stop for Passerbys going for Safari. Lots of Souvenir Shops.
Wow 🤩 Ya’ll need to come here
Its located at Kampala masaka highway 🛣️ busy place and tourists are always around the place
This was beautiful experience, it was very educational. Something for every one to learn in the world.Standing in the Northern, southern hemisphere and centre 0°latitude at the same time was very magicalA place to go to.
It is a great place with so many shops selling African craft at a relatively affordable price. Travellers can take pictures at no cost
It is where the imaginary line of equator passes through. One should go and see the place. There are few craft shops and cafes around for shopping and quick bites.
It was night time but the place is beautiful and has a very good art and craft market
The Ugandas Best stop over along Mbarara-Kampala Highway. it is historical and a world heritage site you must visit this while you still living on earth. Nice gift shops around and souvenirs can be accessed at these amazing shopping centers at the Equator. This spot shows Uganda is most blessed country in the world
1. An exiting place to be2. All kinds of traditional clothing and items can be got here.3. A lovely stop over along Mbarara road for a lunch break and photo shoots.4. It is a fun place
Well I came to know about this place from some random travel video I was scrolling through. Then when I googled it, a lot of photos appeared of that iconic circle.Whatever, as it was COVID period and, lockdown is still going on, I was the lone person there in a idle afternoon. The place is nothing special except that circular structure. I forgot to check my gps there but later on, I found it was showing 0 degree latitude. There’s a restaurant collocated with the circular structure ( Is structure appropriate?‘and there were none’ when I visited. The restaurant owner will offer you a visitor’s book for you to sign. And they will try to demonstrate ‘Coriolis effect’ (which is a scam I believeand will charge you some money for that. Don’t fall for it.
Yah! It is interesting to see yourself in two regions at the same time whereby you can also diced not to stand in any and that means you are standing in the EQUATOR LINE. Other interesting thing at the point, around there a big art gallery with good hospitable people and always ready to save you.
Very good food and best client service, they were ready in time, thanks to Aisha and her team for the treatment and good services to the visitors, I will always be your client
Loved being at the 0 latitude point and getting explanation about how this affects the movement of water i.e drainage and flow depending on if you are on the southern or northern hemisphere. They performed a little experiment demonstrating this for like 10k ugx. Its a cool experience
What a wonderful place. Everyone should come and visit this place. Even the country itself.
It has been lovely and nice moments.Thank You God
Nice place to visit and see the magnetic effects on earth.
Loved the place .. again needs to be more attractive to tourists ... the spot is ver interesting but hardly u find anyone to serve tourists such as the water spinning experiment, there was only one guy who did the experiment who was busy with tourist before me ... I had to leave without it ... unfortunately...
Not much to see here obviously just the line in the road and a nice sign to take some photos, I suggest to have some other destinations on your travel while coming here just for the quick stop.
