US-MEX Schaffhausen - Mexican restaurant in Schaffhausen, Switzerland
US-MEX Schaffhausen in Schaffhausen
Description
Privilege
A fair variety of choice. Well priced. Centrally located so you can enjoy a great meal and then have a lovely walk around the old town. We sat inside as it’s that cooler time of the year, I would highly recommend to sit outside in the summer to enjoy the town vibe and people watch. Had a great waiter who was willing to try and speak English. It’s not your Swiss food cuisine, so it’s nice as a change for the tummy and pallet. I assume you might have to pre-book a table on a Saturday evening in the summer as it was also busy when we walked past. Definitely a good ‘go-to’ restaurant if you are looking for burgers for possibly more fussy guests or if you feel like a naughty treat and don’t feel like cooking over the weekend.
MoreOne of best MES restaurants ever been, if I am in town definitely I will go again. Best food ever
MoreFood was good, but nothing impressive .
Burger is really yummy. Bun is like homemade bun. good service#TravellingAsACouple#TravellingAsACouplePlus1
MoreFood you can prepare at home better than that. Basic food, frozen products, no sense of flavour.
MoreWe had an exquisite dinner while staying at the hotel 2B, for which the restaurant staff offers the check-in services. We were served two extra courses by mistake and did not send them back, as we though they were part of the basic service: at the end we were not charged for them even though in all honesty the blame was at least 50% on our side. This is what “customer oriented” really means! :)We absolutely recommend this restaurant!
Morefantastic frozen margaritas.scezar salad was very tasty as well as the onion rings. highly recimmended
MoreThe food was delicious and filling, and the atmosphere was nice, but the service 0/5. The waiter was just straight-up rude, unfortunately, and we had a bad overall experience because of him. Quick note on the plates: theyre big! Getting a half-portion is a reasonable option here.
MoreGreat food selection. More than generous portions. Ideal to eat out with kids or friends
MoreOne of our favourit restaurant in Schaffhausen. Delicious food, great price value, mostly extremely fast and friendly service. Our kids love the mixed snack platter.
MoreFood ist megafine!
Not the best impression about the restaurant... the young guy who served us was arrogant and impolite (he should learn some basics how to manage guests...). The food wasnt anything special but the cocktail was delicious. The place was nice however and also the lady who showed us our place was very friendly. But I wouldnt go back again.
MoreFood is great, and the portions are big too.
All good, quesadilla and chili con carne, but the masterpiece was the cheesecake with warm berries. 6 stars
MoreBuzzy Tex-Mex chain restaurant with good outdoor seating. The food is fresh, but a bit on the bland side, with good vegetarian options. Very good classic margaritas. Our server was friendly but not very attentive, maybe fresh on the job.
MoreA unique take on Mexican. We dubbed it Swissican. Yummy. Great service. Good value. We would go again.
MoreNice food, nice ambience and fair prices. We had chicken quesadillas. Waiting times could be a bit shorter but in good company that wasnt an issue.
Morenice ambiente, good food, large portions.. long waiting times to be seated
I really want to go back so we can eat in the restaurant.Due to COVID protocols restaurants only have Take Away dining. I saw the inside of the restaurant when picking up the food. The atmosphere looked to be wonderful. The staff we had dealings with were great. My wife had a mojito outside while I was picking up dinner, and she said the mojito was fantastic. My wife had the shrimp fajitas, I had the Enchilada Verde. Both were incredibly tasty. The tortilla chips, if not home made, sure taste like homemade. The fajitas were enough food for two people. Highly recommend this US-MEX if you are visiting Schaffhausen.
MoreGood food, only waiting time is often too long
Good food and well sized portions. Reasonable prices, fast and friendly service. Definitely worth recommending. Max points from me.
MoreBit pricey, but very good food.Service was good, cocktails were nice.Portions were huge. 4 out of 5 ✌
Moregood service but not great cooking
Friendly servis and huge portions! Would love to come again!
Extremely tasty food! The waitresses were very friendly and not pushy at all. The portions were big which was compared to the price really good! The curly fries were BOMB!!! 10/10 would recommend:)
MoreIt takes 40 minutes sometimes until the food is ready.. and then you will be disappointed because nothing has a taste
MoreVery nice food. I also recommend to go with a lot of hunger, they serve very bid plates. You can also take the rests home :)
MoreNot very authentic, mid-size portions, charge hella money for tab water. Also, food was not very warm, patties did not seem homemade. Waiters very quite pushy.
More"Authentic" Mexican food, Swiss style 😉
Very nice and good restaurant with excellent food and nice service!
Not very good for Mexican food.
Good food, very friendly staff.A vegan friendly oasis. After visiting Germany for a few days we finally found a place that serves vegan friendly dishes (vegan or those that can be made vegan). Menu is rich with US-Mexican dishes, clearly marking vegetarian / vegan / lactose options.Staff was very friendly - which is also a welcome change after a few days with strict and non-friendly German service. Can’t testify for the burgers or meat dishes but the veggie ones were great and served within minutes.Be aware: place is not cheap - cost us 100€ for 3 dishes, a side dish and a beer.
MoreNice Deco and the Burritos (called Enchiladas herewere very large as wellas Hamburger mit Mais Brot and good although small servings of salsa withwhat seems to be Hausgemacht Tortilla chips which were also nice.BUT......Sadly,the Fajitas were lacking in something...A fresh hot Pan seared meat with fresh seared pepperonis and onion and seasoning?!?Too much to ask for, as pictured on the menu???perhaps it was the Blumenkolb,Zuchetti,Karroten stew vegtableson the lukewarm fajita pan that tasted like leftovers warmed in theoven( which they were by the way)I cook btw.Or perhaps being told after complaining of the dry unmarinated chickenFajitas that the Beef selection were like on the picture. This was not the case, they simply cooked un-seasoned stips of beefand returned the veg to this, yet again,Lukewarm pan that never was used to actuallydo its job and ya know...cook.Would not reccomend if traditional Fajitas or Tex-Mex is what you are looking for,but hey...its not H-Town, Texas no matter how nice you dress it up.
MoreGreat Margarita, different spin on classics, ala swiss. Great location and vibe eating outside
MoreVery good food, kind and service minded personnel. Large portions, reasonable price i.e. according to swiss prices.
MoreWe ordered two quesadillas, one veggie and one beef. They were scrumptious but without any sides. Value for money was not quite justified.
MoreVery nice hamburger. The service is great and the place is spacious and has a great atmosphere.
MoreVery nice place, we took several dishes and all of us liked it
Nice and cozy place. Have both indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements. Place is clean and ambience is good. Food is fine but not authentic American-Maxican taste. But it is one of the good eating option in this small city. Staff is nice and friendly. Our server told us the side on one of our order is really big and he suggested is to exclude the side (although this option was not available on the menu). Charged us less for excluding the side. Serving quantity is good.
MoreGood atmosphere with a wide selection of beer on tap. The food was hot and tastey.
MoreNice place, I like the decorations. My waitress was very kind and fast. :I got a giant amount of food, more than I expected. And I got so many different sauces! Chicken wings were extremly good, delicious and crunchy. Mozarella sticks were also very tasty. Unfortunately sauces and tortilla chips were not as good as I hoped but they were OK.
MoreNo complaints... Food, service, pricing and location all a good fit!
Ordered French Fries, Chicken burger, Very Roll and a Veg burger. Loved the food. The sauces were great. The quantity was good. The ambience was on point.
MoreAttractive InfrastructureGood food with quantityDecent serviceWorth visit at least onceModerate costs
MoreAfter over 40 minutes of waiting for our take-away order the waitress who had taken our order realised our orders had been on the counter in the kitchen the whole time and laughed it off with another waiter without apologising for having forgotten our order, very disrespectful experience.
MoreWe love to stop by US-Tex on our way back from Germany. They have lovely Fajitas and a decent beer menue =). Kids love their home made iced tea and the American Style wings. The Natchos with dip are also a winner.
MoreGreat views and scenery, food okay, service not the most prompt.
big portions of food! nice atmosphere, the service is a bit slow but in general it was a good experience.
MoreNice place. The portions are very, very generous and all the food was good. The service was very, very slow (maybe it was the time of day, the place was not busybut very friendly.
MoreThis is not Tex Mex food by any means. It is some form of Swissified Mexican food disguised as something edible. My Swiss wife and I know a thing or two about Mexican food. She spent over eight years in Mexico, and Im from California. I usually dont go to the negative side, but with this being our second visit, and the results were just as bad as the first, I felt compelled to write somethingThe cheeseburger on the first visit, was more bread than burger, and it struck me as being a typical Swiss pre-cooked over spiced hamburger patty. US-Tex Mex needs to take a lesson from Arcona Living, or the Guterhof, if they want to know what a cheeseburger is about. My safe menu choice at a new Mexican restaurant are the fajitas. For they are hard to screw up, but this restaurant succeeded. The chicken fajitas was some form of chicken chunk stew in tomato sauce , served on a cold platter. no flavor what so ever, with tortillas. It was the worst platter of fajitas I have had in a long time, and unfortunately you end up with the same in most Swiss Mexican food restaurants. The cook needs to take a look at YouTube or go back to school, to learn how to cook.Sorry, US-MEX, you have spent a small fortune in abeyance. Now you need to work on the quality and reality of Tex Mex food
