Two-Color River View Point - Scenic point in Pakxe, Laos
Verry nice view but also very hot
Always nice to watch rivers flow.
Its nice to visit and a good combination with the temple where this view point is
Beautiful place to visit and have lunch on the river
beautiful grounds, clean comfortable room. good breakfast, lovely location right on river. small but pretty swimming pool right outside our room.
Beautiful place to visit plenty of cheap clean accommodation and cheap restaurants right on the river
The place I entry is the public area inside the Wat Kong Jeam area at this point you will stay really close to the two river come to join each other
❤️📍🌊
Nicely view with wat khongjiam with tge two color river of Mae Khong river separated area by river between Thailand and Laos. Nice history place and buddhist place.
Beautiful and very peaceful. Hardly any Thai tourists. I didnt see a single western tourist in three days. I stayed at Apple GH: 300b/night. No need for air-con: nights and mornings, the temp is cool. Near the Viewpoint are several restaurants serving alcohol which close about 10pm. Khong Chiam has just one 7-11 (open 24hr). A great place if you wanna get off the tourist track. There are passenger vans from Ubon Bus Station.
Beautiful
Not much but cool to see
Was not able to see the two different colors but its worth the trip
Great view at Thailand and Laos border. But better check the season first cos the colour difference may not be obvious during sometimes of the year.
Nothing impressive and it is extremely hot on the day I visit. The two colour river isnt obvious and must look hard. Theres quite a few restaurants along the river stretch but I do not frequent.
The two-colours river are strange to the Mekong River at the Khong Chiam area.
A good place to visit and see the blue waters of the Mun River run into the brown water of the Mekong.Good opportunities to walk around and take pictures and do some sightseeing. There are a few nice restaurants.
You must during the high tide season to see it . Otherwise I’m not sure if it’s two colors
A bit disappointing, but still impressive to see this huge waterway. The area of two colours was quite full with plastic trash, which ruined the view quite a bit. Apart from that nothing much to do or see here.
Nice restaurants on the river side , a very nice view and good air.
The two colours are really clear. The blue Mun merging with the brown Mekong.
I was not able to see the 2 colours.Guess you need to visit during April to see it.Best of luck. View point is free entry so no problems there
Nothing to see. Maybe because we didnt take the boat to see it closer in the middle of the river. Can skip with no regrets.
Interesting junction point and you can see the different coloured waters mixing.
Khong Chiam is a pleasant little town, but this view point is not a major site.
It is not a must to see place but if you are in the neighborhood then it is worth to come here.
This is a viewpoint that will see the river from Thailand flowing into a universal river. You will see different river colors at the point where the water flows and It will be perfect if you come here when the river is not dehydrated.
Not very interesting. Just a spot where two rivers join. Laos is visible on the other side of the shore.
Good spot to see the confluence of the Mun & Mekong rivers, if you are as lucky as we were youll get to see the two distinct colours of the rivers merging. Well worth a visit.
Great viewing point of the mekong river and moon river joining great place to see and have a bite to eat.
Unfortunately we did not see the two distinct colors. Did see a fishing boat on the Laos side. Should elevate it a little higher.
The sign says April is the best time to go... I went today, April 16th, and did not see two color tones. It was a beautiful landscape tho, so I still give it 4 stars.
To enjoy this view point, APRIL is the best month as stated by the signboard where we could get amazing view of the two-colored rivers i.e. the indigo blue Moon River and Orange brown Mekong River. It was rainy season during my travel where the level of the water was high, and I landed up getting the view of a one-colored muddy river. So please visit during April month or you will waste your time like me. The view point area is very spacious open area within the area of a Buddhist temple. Looking forward to visit at right time in future.Time of travel: August 2018
Amazing place, rivers are huge and is worth a visit
Great food and friendly staff. A relaxed atmosphere with a view of the river.
A lot of water in the rainy season
The soectacular colour difference between the waters of the Meking and the Mun rivers sometimes is clearly visible from here!
Just another elevated view point of the two rivers merging together. Need to look carefully to notice the two shades of colors converging into one. Interesting surrounding of the view spot. Mini shops that caters to tourists visiting, food vendors preparing local treats, and a mini shrine with monks. Its a good idea to visit while in the area but not to make a special trip just to see the water contrast of the two rivers merging together.
The best time to see the two colors of the two rivers merging is during the rainy season. From the viewpoint we could not decipher two colors however drone hot taken from above gave us opportunity to see it.
Really cool, you cen get on a boat which brings drives you around the river and brings you to some stone island, Really nice
Interesting view point, if you are in the neighborhood
At the time of my visit, I really did not see a color difference between the two rivers. The location and especially all the boats on the river made it a worthwhile stop.
Great view the two rivers are really flowing amazing watching all the boats fishing with their nets at least 50 in about half a kilometre dont know how they dont get all tangled up
Havent been there during rainy season. On this time (February), it is not interesting place at all. We havent seen any "two colours" mixing, restaurants has been closed. Really not necessary to go there in this season
Not so much too see in this season (winter)
Need to came in the raining session to see the two rivers mix. In the dry season the city sleep and nothing to do
Another advertised attraction of Khong Chiam is the two colours river viewpoint. The town is situated on a headland at the convergence of the Mekong and a tributary and apparently at the right time of year it’s possible to see the greener waters of the Mekong mixing with the muddy brown of the tributary. I think this requires a degree of good luck as at the time of my visitation, the region was a month into the dry season and both rivers still looked distinctly green in colour. A nice photo opportunity at the two colours viewpoint – part of a temple complex on the headland – is sunrise over the Mekong.
Relaxing countryside to vit a few days. Enjoy the morning and evening sun. Walk or cycle along the two rivers.
Visit at the end of monsoon season (Novemberon a clear day for the best scenic view.
เช้าๆ ณ จุดนี้สวยงามมากครับTwo Color river is the flow of the river between Moon river(flow from Thailandand Mekong river confluence. The Mekong river is the boundary between the Blocking Raceway Country Thailand and Laos. The color of the light and colors between Moon river and Mekong river which is a different color, when overlooking the confluence of two rivers, the colors are beautiful, can clearly see the two colors.
