Twins Ranch LLC in Tillamook
Description
Outside of a busy highway is just something you will have to put up with, other then that it was ok.
MoreBest camping experience in Oregon
This was a great place to stay right off the highway 101 and they had space for my tent for a last minute camping adventure. I looked and called everywhere else and they were the only ones with space. Thank you for saving me from sleeping in my car. The services are basic and there are horses there too. Very reasonably priced and less than other places.
MoreIts a grass lot next to a freeway,
Definitely cool to sleep in a covered wagon and it does hold up well to the relentless coastal rain and wind. I will say, shower was never hot though being solar and the coast — hopes weren’t high. Bathroom was clean which was nice. Quite a bit of road noise but still enjoyable. The downside was the wagons are out in a grassy field which is cool — but depending on how you feel, you’ll be wading in ankle deep water if it pours out. You absolutely must enjoy being set to some extent. I thought it added some excitement but it did mostly ruin any ability to have a fire. I will go back. Also limited parking!!!
MoreCute spot, lots of availability, great hosts! We called last minute for a tent spot and it worked out perfectly for us. We paid in advance for firewood and the host dropped it off to us in his buggy. Would definitely come back for a night stay, easy and simple. Beautiful lawn!
MoreRustic camping at its best. 14 covered wagons and some tent sites create a peaceful, family-friendly spot to camp in the summer months.
MoreThis place is a secret gem. Nice owner, clean, quiet, spacious. Slept like a log.
MoreStayed in the wagons was fun. (Make sure you take the weather into account as they are not insulated.Over all a nice place to stay.
MoreLoved it here! Everyone was quiet and friendly! Really close to the Tillamook factory!
MoreAbsolutely amazing! We truly loved our stay and will definitely stay again on our next trip down the coast!
MoreLittle known gem. Excellent family friendly pricing. Stayed in a wagon in 2018 and the Hideaway cabin this time. The cabin is away from the main part of the campground which is good and bad as it is a small hike to the bathrooms. Cabin sleeps 2 up in the loft and 2 downstairs on full size lightly padded mattresses. If you want a softer bed, bring some padding. Cabin also has 4 USB plugs.
MoreWe are having a great time camping at this location, hosts are very nice and the views are spectacular.
MoreWe booked a tent site. Staff was friendly, and always answered the phone. Conveniently near Tillamook, maybe a little too near the road for tent sleeping, not a exactly scenic spot. Fair prices and lots of availability, convenient for non-planners. The bathrooms weren’t too clean and smelled worse than most camp/park pit toilets we’ve experienced. No sinks or flush toilets. We didn’t try the solar shower available. Grass is nice and soft for tent sites and they all have picnic tables, fire pits and nearby water spigots. We’ve actually been sleeping in our car on this trip and just using our tent for storing stuff overnight, so we didn’t notice the road noise. I don’t intend my 3 stars as a bad review, our stay was just alright, not 4 stars good nor 2 stars bad, it was a good last option with all the county parks full.
MoreNice little campground.. Easy access location and my grandkids loved the covered wagons!Bathrooms only 2 for the campground. Very rustic and could use some work..
MoreIts a cute little place for just tent campers which was great. It quiet, and easy to find. The host is very friendly and hospitable. Bathrooms are kept clean and provides a solar shower If you want or need as well as drinking spouts throughout the camp for fresh water if needed also :).Also provides wood forsale fire if you need. I will stay here again if I travel up this way. And has cute covered wagons for those who dont like to sleep in tent haha
MoreGreat place..quite camping getaway! I was especially impressed with the service of our hosts by bringing the campfire wood we purchased right over to our covered wagon! Wonderful place for children and dogs too!!
MoreLoud traffic from hwy 101 & did not enforce an important fire ban, set at noon, until well after dark. From Tillamook County - "As of noon September 7, 2020, there is a full burn ban in effect, this includes all campfires. This ban will include all State Parks property including the beach, all campgrounds in the forest areas and residential campfires. This ban will be in effect until 12:00 am on September 11th, 2020." Winds were gusting over 60mph. When we arrived in the evening several campers were having campfires and the wind was really picking up. Most of them recognized this was dangerous and eventually put out their fire, but one site had burning debris blowing out of their fire from the high wind, nearly getting out of hand, and they hastily dumped water on it. Anyway, a bummer a fire ban at noon wasnt communicated to the campers until much later... after the campers recognized the danger themselves. The campground knew about the high wind because I told them that morning. Also, the wagons arent safe in high winds. We were told they were, but certainly not as I have pictures of one having the top blow off and mattresses pinned against the side. Would I stay here again? NO
MoreLike the access to showers, clean. But bring ear plugs. Very close to the road and if you are not a heavy sleeper the trucks and cars will keep you up all night.
MoreCool to sleep in a covered wagon! Loved the owner, he met us at the gate and went over everything in detail. Very kind
MoreAmazing! Peaceful and quiet. Although, you hear traffic from the highway 101. Telling my friends and family that I recommend this place.
MoreWe had a wonderful time! Rustic atmosphere but really enjoyable. Such a unique experience and great value.
MoreGreat experience. Great hosts. Awesome looking grounds. Cant wait to visit again.
MoreAn absolutely charming camp ground and such a fun experience! The hosts are so nice and helpful and theres not to do in the area. We look forward to more stays in the future.
MoreThe owners are friendly and helpful! The spot was beautiful. It is right off the highway, so keep in mind you do hear some traffic. We stayed in a covered wagon and my son loved it ( we loved it too). It is a primitive campground so they do have pit toilets. They smell awful as one would expect, but I was impressed by how clean they were kept. We had a great time and we look forward to coming back soon!
MoreIts been a fun experience! There bathrooms are kept clean I am looking forward to my solar shower this evening!
MoreEasy check-in even after hours. Helpful staff. Used the tent site but would use the wagons on another occasion. Beautiful setting. Some road noise but overall peaceful, clean, and wide open spaces. Would have liked flush toilets available but the facilities were kept clean and stocked. Would stay again!
MoreThis place is exactly as beautiful of a respite as it describes. There’s basic structures, plenty of grass, water, fire pits, quiet neighbors, only a little highway noise, and so much beautiful sun and birds. In reading some past reviews I see people being upset at the basic nature of this place but it’s EXACTLY as advertised and completely adorable and functional. Plus, the hosts are incredibly friendly and responsive. Thank you for the rejuvenation after sooooooo much hiking (:
MoreAwesome host, quaint place, enough room between campsites, green pasture so not the dust bowl some camp grounds can be.
MoreSuch a beautiful setting in such an easy to get to location! Super dog friendly!
I was heading to Garibaldi for the dinner train. The wagon was 4 miles away. Very relaxing. A fun experience. The host was very nice. There was only one other guest in a wagon so it was very peaceful. Next time I would take my little propane stove to make coffee in the am. But I went to a little local restaurant. Great fun. Thank you ...
MoreThe one time I used the solar shower....it was overcast and so the shower stayed cold. LOL! Otherwise, not a bad place to stay. Would be nice to have a non-drinking section for families and avoid the party-scene people.
MoreI camped at Twins Ranch for two nights over Labor Day weekend- first in a wagon, then in a tent. As someone traveling by myself to a state where I know no one, I was concerned about finding a safe AND enjoyable place to camp. Twins Ranch was a rare gem of a find!!! The wagon was such a memorable experience, but I also loved the tent camping- super easy to set up in the soft ground, no fuss check in and check out. There are nature trails on the grounds as well as blackberries!!! Solar shower was NOT as cold as I expected, and its nice to be so close to restrooms (no frills admittedly but clean enough!and drinking water. Campground is close to the highway, and given the family-friendly nature of the place, it definitely was not quiet... but it wasnt packed like some of the state parks and I had no trouble getting a reservation even so close to the time I was traveling!! Hosts seemed super friendly, I had no trouble getting ahold of them by phone when I arrived (though I admit I almost left my phone at home, and then feel like I would have been in a bit of a bind, as I had no personal interaction with them). Would definitely stay again! :)
MoreVary authentic! Bring extra bedding ( a few blankets and something soft to sleep onthe beds are thin foam that provides little to no support
MoreTo much noise at night. The hispanics we had next to us had a gaint annoying light and were up till 1am
MoreLet me clarify a few things up front. First, a 3 star rating isnt bad and doesnt mean we didnt enjoy Twins Ranch (we did have fun). If there was a 3.5 stars Id go for that - I just didnt feel it was a 4. Second, Im only getting into camping, and have probably gone camping 6 times in my life. That said - onto Twins Ranch. First is location. The campsite is a couple of miles north of Tillamook. Its not too far, just a short drive into town and close to a supermarket for supplies. Theres nothing walkable though. A downside is that you are right next to highway 101 - literally adjacent to it. To be fair to Twins Ranch, they point that out and tell you to bring earplugs.....youll want to heed that advice or be a deep sleeper, its a busy road with traffic on it at all hours. The wagons were pretty funky. You can get an idea from the photo I posted. Theres 2 queen sized mattress pads - which are surprisingly comfortable - one set about 3-4ft above the other. Theres enough space left to fit a large cooler inside and a couple of small bags. The wagons are covered in a tarp - possibly noisy when it rains, but then so is a tent. Each wagon has a picnic table outside and a fire ring. Youll probably want to bring your own firewood from the nearby supermarket - although the campsite owner offers firewood for sale, there was none available the days we stayed. We had some fun sitting at the campfire in the evening.Facilities for the campsite is where I would ding it. There was a handful of water taps sprinkled around the campsite, 2 pit toilets and one solitary solar heated shower. At times there would be a line for the toilets, the condition of the toilets would fluctuate, and the solar shower (which had a note saying use between 8am-8pmhad no hot water. Small things too though - there wasnt really an office, you just turned up, went to your wagon and left (I never met anyone from the site); the grass in the field was pretty long , so with no pathways your shoes were soaked (or feet if you wore flipflops).Having said all that - we DID have fun and enjoyed our stay. Im just not entirely sure I would go back, Id like to try other sites.
MoreThe coverd wagons are the best. My daughter absolutely loved it must see place an experience you will mever forget
MoreClean and grassy. Friendly hosts. We stayed in one of the new covered wagon tents. It easily for our young family of four.
MoreHad a wedding there. Wasnt very impressed with the amount of money I spent. I mean they werent even around to cut our cake for us and there was only enough appetizers for maybe 4 adults. They started putting food away and silverware away before our cake was even served. The owners cindy and larry were not present the duration of the event. They had pawned the dutys off on there daughter while they spent the entire night at the rodeo.. not very professional our receipt is 11 words no date no names no description of what we had paid for. Was not impressed by all means. Im not one to complain but when my family and my guest complain to me about there experience then I feel like I need to say something.
MoreLoved staying in a covered wagon! Comfortably slept 2 adults and 2 kids. Very clean. Owners were very kind.
MoreI loved staying in the covered wagon! Such a unique experience! I hope to come back some day.
MoreFamily and I went out for a weekend adventure to the coast! As everyone knows in t loves to rain. We went to the Tillamook Creamery and other places and it started to get late in n the day. Hadnt found a campground to set up tent yet so i started the search and found Twins Ranch!!! The Wagons and Hide out Shed are what got me and told my family about it. We were all excited to give it a try so we called and Larry answered and said to come down and check it out! We did and reserved the Hide Out. Larry was awesome, friendly, and answered all our questions. Differently come back next summer and years after... great place to camp!!! Thanks Larry!!
MoreVery nice hosts. There is a pit toilet. Showers will be added soon. Camping is in a field with no trees or vegetation to separate campers. There is a wooded area behind the property that would be wonderful if utilized as tent sites. Overall, we were happy to have found a place to stay and would stay again if necessary.
MoreWe camped in a covered wagon and what an awesome experience! Great host and convient location.
MoreWe had Twins Ranch cater our wedding They were outstanding! Cindy is an excellent wedding planner.
MoreVery clean camping here. They have wagons to stay in if you would like. We chose tent camping. Very affordable and a fun place to be. There is fire rings to have your fires. They have bathrooms but no sinks so be prepared for no showers. This is a great place if you don’t want to spend money on a hotel. It was perfect for our family. You park on the side and carry your stuff in on the grass. They had firewood for $5 we got and it was perfect for our 2 night stay. Check it out! It’s also close to the beaches and some cute towns.
MoreThere we were STRANDED in Tillamook, Oregon with NO PLACE to sleep. Everywhere was booked! And then through the rolling mist of Tillamook County a beacon of hope appeared: Twins Ranch Covered Wagon and Primitive Tent Camping LLC. Now, instead of having to sleep under a bridge we camped in a breathtaking field. The owner even walked by with his granddaughter! The lord blessed us on this beautiful day.Tent fee: $25Firewood: $5Covered wagon: $45Amenities: water, outhouse, wheelbarrows, picnic benches, fire pitExperience: priceless
MoreWe rented The Lookout Cabin and a Covered Wagon. Good pricing and a fun experience. The hosts were nice. The space was spacious and beautiful. They offer a picnic table, fire pit, running water and outhouses. All walk-in spaces. Very quiet campground. The cows even came to visit us at the back fence, which made my kids very happy.
MoreA fairly new place with large, spacious sites. Nice outhouse, fire pits, tables and water spigots. $20/night and $5 for firewood. This was a lucky find on an otherwise fully-booked coast.
MoreNice spot for tent camping, park and walk in. They have carts and wheelbarrow. Self check-in $20 and $5 for firewood. Pleasant spot with view of the hills. We found by chance driving down 101 looking for a place to stay. It was a hot weekend inland so everything was booked on the coast and this place was wide open. Looks like no reservations first come first serve but they arent listed on any travel sites I know of. Outhouse no showers plenty of water no electricity
