The place seem to be under construction but today Turku city day took place fine and the orchestra performance was awesome. Hope to see the market square completed soon

Most authentic place in the city, the best place to buy your fruits and veggies. Prices are super good, much cheaper and fresh that supermarket.

Its coming together, but way too expensive compared to the pros. Also they got lucky that the "thing" sent everybody home to not see the construction job.

If you want to visit Turkus Market Square, expect that it has been undergoing a huge rejuvenation. For now, its just a construction site.

Gresh vegetables really cheap. Many other products. I like it is close to where i live and cheap then any market.

Under construction right now as they are building a parking cave underneath. When its finnished the market will continue where you can buy flowers, fish, clother and all sorts of fruit and vegetables.

Allready 2 years of construction going on. They are building a new mall on the square and are still sub level. Very noise, busy with workers and trucks. Almost no space. Few fruit stalls but because of the noise and smell of diesel no fun place to be

Market square is currenty little more than a crater. They are constructing parking space and doing a makeover for the square. On the North-Western edge they still sell vedgetables, cookies and hamburgers.

The most traditional place of Turku. In the center of the city, you can find a wide variety of imported and local ingredients. Fresh and cured cheese, bread, meats and fish.Restaurants serving Finnish specialties as well as thai, sushi, vegetarian food, world-wide desserts and the most delicious pizza in Turku are under the ceiling of this cover market.A must try in Turku.

It is interesting but at this time (Jan 2020there is a construction going on to construct an underground parking. Looks like it will take a few months, at least!

Right now its just a horrible big hole in the ground to make way for parking no one wanted or needed. Best to avoid the area until construction is done.

Ah Turku! Quite and peaceful. This is the heart of Turku or the big square, in finnish "KauppaTori". In summer its good because many vendors come to sell fruits and vagetables that they pick right away from the nature and of course you can find them for much more cheapper price then in the supermarket. There also many flower shops always of course in summer. In winter there are few coffe places but most of the sellers go away. Now is undergoing a big renovation, from here you can also go to "Hansa" and "Stockman" two famous commercial center

Nice market square with fresh products such as fruits, fish and flowers. The summer time you have ice cream spot.

Not very intresting cause they are building there until the end off time for useless parking.... So nothing really intresting there.If u have the option to go anywhere else do it 👍

I was following a guided walking map so was surprised to find this as it was. I was told when I stopped here that an underground car park is being built, hence the construction.I didn’t explore the area any further.

In summer this square, or whats left of it, is still rather lovely. Though I do wait for all the construction work to be done.

They are making new personally i prefer old one.. still can buy..local products, produced by locals... Breads, Vegetables.. flowers...

excellent place for tourists to see whats like for a Finnish market , can find all sorts of local food ,clean and neat

You can find almost any shop here. There are many shopping malls here. All the bus stops can be found here easily.

Heart of Turku city. You found farmers markets and fish market in here during daytime. Summer is the best time.

Bus to local airport goes on stop numbered T40. Bus from city center to airport is Number One (1). Ticket cost in September 2017 is 3 euros

Lovely local Finnish square with many shops around and buses for transportation. Also every day there are plenty of small stands to buy things from food to clothes and antiques.

Nice place, nice food. If you have the opportunity go to wood and fire craft pizza. Best pizza in Finland

Sad result of Turkus notorious city planning. Most of the old buildings have been demolished, lots of concrete buildings instead. You can find cheap vegetables there though.

The more beautiful parts of Turku are elsewhere. Kauppatori is surrounded by ugly buildings and is - like all city traffick centres - noisy and restless. Im still glad we have it. You can buy peas and strawberries in the summer and then go eat them at some peaceful place (e.g. Puolalan puisto or by the river). In the autumn its even better. You get mushrooms, apples and lingon berries.Farmers are selling their own products at the Eastern corner. The products have always been good and the people selling them are nice. Remember to draw cash, they dont accept any cards. The prices are generally higher if you buy from small local farms but I like to support them. In the afternoon (close to closing timeyou can get really good deals

Turku market sqr is somewhat untidy, but the prices for local produce are simply insane. Shop here after Kauppahalli, or enjoy a very early cup of coffee and watch people rush to work.

Its a good and cheaper option for veggies. During summer you can find a lot of very cheap and good quality berries, strawberries, honey, paprika etc. Also during summer they sell beautiful flowers, clothes, coffee, food and second hand stuff.

Its a market square with a vibrant Nordic feel. Dont arrive too early in the day or late in the evening as the street vendors will not be there.The market is located next to the ferry to visit Suomenlinna island.Top shopping tip: The vendors located around the edges of the market seem to have higher prices for items than the stalls further inside. So dont impulse buy for tourist magnets for example. Comparing prices betwern stalls could save to money for additional gifts.

Nice location but nothing great u can see on it except Christmas time. It s gonna be renovated any time shortly I reckon

Nice market, with local products. Occasionally there is a flea market also. Has reasonable prices, sometimes better than grocery stores.

Relatively disappointing part of Turku considering how beautiful the river banks are a few street away. The square itself feel more like a giant bus stop surrounded by ugly looking buildings.

Fresh products from local farmers, fishers and pretty flowers. Great place to have a cup off good coffee and eat some ice-cream!

Farmers market almost every day. Its better than the one in Helsinki too since there arent any seagulls :)

gosh, theres nothing at the market. i was hoping to find excellent array of produce, like the markets in Holland, but there were only a few lonely stands. so disappointing.
