Turks and Caicos National Museum - National museum in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great place to go to learn the history of this beautiful place.
One of our Crusie Ports....such a friendly and hyped place. Beach and Water
Lovely little museum covering a broad range of topics and history of the islands. They packed so much in! I loved the geological and nature displays. The replica of the lighthouse was cool, and the video / display on the diving man was fascinating. Definitely worth a visit!
Beautiful Museum. I loved the Gift Store. Very special and beautiful local items for sale. I bought some post cards here. 6 for $5. Everything was reasonably priced. This Island depends upon tourism and visitors. Lots of beautiful scenery to admire. This Museum is across the street from the Ocean. The Tram stopped across the street and I was able to visit. Burros are free to roam the Island. I bought many beautiful things here. Everyone loved the Island. It was a cruise favorite. The Admission price is affordable, $5. Yearly Admission available.
Sweet little museum in a historic house showcasing the history of the island, the salt trade, local shipwreck, geological features, and the indigenous people who inhabited the islands before the Spanish arrived. Two floors plus a nice gift shop. Only five dollars for adults. Get there early as the rooms are small and can fill up quick.
We took a ride from the cruise center and discovered this while in port on a cruise. It was a prime location - great views and no one was around we took thousands of pictures of this amazing island. Great people. Downtown is like a small bus stop. Don’t expect a lot of people or fancy ride. Weather was amazing and the water was clear as a personal pool. Definitely coming back.
Pretty nice but small. Still some nice historical information.
Amazing historic detail, not everything in is behind glass, the experience is very interactive!
You can go into the gift shop free. Bought several items. Love the book about Potcakes. Great way to support local museum.
Fantastic 😂 good to enjoy
those hotels look very luxury and elegant ,
Must visit and learn something. Buy something do not be miser. The canadian doctor lady is charmful
$5 admission for adults with kids being free. Dont miss the second floor... I suggest doing the museum as early in your visit as possible to understand the Island more. This is a dont miss item while on Grand Turk...
History, culture, island gifts. Depth of knowledge - really enhances any trio to Grand Turk!
Great resource for the rich history of the island. Super friendly staff! A must-see if youre there.
A small museum in Cockburn Town on Grand Turk island. Seems to only be open when cruise ships are docked at the island. $5.00 entry fee. Several small displays highlighting the islands long history, including the John Glenn arrival after his historic Mercury mission space flight aboard Friendship 7. There is a small gift shop attached to the museum. Friendly staff. Worth a visit if you have time and are looking for something to do in Cockburn Town.
The most beautiful views ever !
Loved this place I will be going back
Downtown Turks Caicos is a miss then change then my money heaven the people there is that of is having something going on after you get off the cruise ship right at the pier
The museum is very nice and has a great collection capturing the history of the island. The staff was very helpful and made the stop extra rewarding.
See stuff and get tours and things here. Bam, you like.
Wonderful exhibits, friendly and knowledgeable docents. Dont miss this!
Best kept secret !! Awesome place and fabulous people & culture!! Will be visiting again.
Beautiful and open adventure
Such a Hidden Gem In Turks And Caicos, AMust See To Believe Experience
Good to see various heritage and history in other countries. As a Mason, I was able to see some lodges out by the beach. The locals were friendly. We rented a golf cart to get around. Nothing like seeing the city at 20 mph. Beach was clean and beautiful
To see the island take the Calypso Island Tour...slow.
Enjoyable Hummer excursion however; the island is STILL in ruins after hurricane Maria. Per the locals Queen Elizabeth doesnt support them with finances to rebuild. Very sad situation and living conditions.
A very nice stop on our tour
Its quite small and needs to be updated asteically but learned alot about the island.
A very fun place to visit. So much history to learn about here.
Received interesting information from the local tour guide about the museum.
Great place to learn of the history of Turks and Caicos Islands and its indigenous people.
Much poverty. Nothing really see here. Cruise stop off so Carnival can add to its income. Hurricane damaged much of island in 2018. Two back to back. Little vegetation so not beautiful. Its a TOURIST TRAP ONLY.
I Love That Island:very clean, nice peoples!
Beautiful port and island!
This is a best place to visit is wheelchair accessible, great artifacts and and gift shop to visit....ANC TAXI AND TOURS do a Hop on Hop Off stop there, plenty time to visit and explore.well situated in the heart of Cockburn Town where you can enjoy shopping, local food, and swim in the beautiful waters of Grand Turk.Highly recommended
A wonderful small museum with more information then you could imagine. From the ship wrecks to the salt mining to the space program. Fascinating history in this small town.
Will take you from the time of Columbus to the beginning of the space race when John Glenn landed there!
Beautiful island, great tour. Hope to return some day.
Really small, but well worth the $5. Enjoyed the exhibits and really enjoyed the AC!
See the countrys history and different pieces found in the waters around the island. If you want to be educated on the TCI the museum is the first stop for you.
Interesting local facts. Never really hear much about these islands but they are so beautiful and have a rich history and culture. Very enjoyable visit.
Not much to it, its just the experience of going. Some interesting tidbits of the culture.
Worth a visit, if its your first time visiting the island.
All kinds of interesting history here.
If you visit Grand Turk you must visit the museum. Great exhibits on local history and diving.
Learned a lot about the Islands rich history. They had history books on sale as well. Nice staff.
Great museum but has 10 dollar fee to get in.
