Tuk Tuk Microbrewery in Noorder-Paarl
Description
I can’t fault this place! Everything was delicious. We had pork tacos, sirloin steak and samoosas . Amazing service from Priscilla our waitron.
MoreLovely place. Food is delicious. Service is fab.
Enjoyed the beer. Excellent staff (with good sense of humour ;).Enjoyed their chicken dish - beautifully prepared with distinct flavours.Really liked the detail in spotless bathrooms.
MoreWow the food was some of the best in Franschhoek! Good vegetarian options! Cozy fireplace inside, neat modern design. Worth trying the raspberry lager.
MoreWhat a kind and friendly restaurant. The chef mixed up our order and he made us some starters free of charge and gave us a round of drinks to apologise. That is exactly how customer service is meant to be. The food was also really delicious and different to lots of the other cuisine in the area.I dont drink beer, but Im guessing this is a good place to come if you do, as most other places specialise in wine.
MoreWhat a pleasant surprise. We popped in on a cold and rainy evening just hoping for some decent food and a place to get warm. The service was really friendly, the staff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world…honestly you have to try the deep fried cauliflower tacos. Outstanding!Thank you Mxolosi for your phenomenal service! We will be back….maybe for breakfast??!!! 🤣🤣🤣
MoreIm from Thailand when I see Tuk Tuk Im very excited 😁 😆 your food very good,recommend..fish and chip my favorite ...Thanks
MoreGood beer, great staff and very good experience overall! Would definitely recommend!
MoreWeve recently moved from Joburg to Franschhoek and Tuk Tuk has become our local dinner and drinks place.Nicola, the chef, has created the most delicious menu with lots of tasty vegan and vegetarian options.Mark, the owner, invited us to sit INSIDE with Bella, our dog, but the weather was good enough to sit outside :)and Simmy runs the restaurant as a pro. All the staff are friendly, attentive and professional. And Grant says the BEER is fantastic! They are pet friendly, BIG BONUS.
MoreLovely experience, Michael welcomed us and gave us excellent service, delicious food and beer. Will definitely go back. Beautiful venue.
MoreGot to be my favorite place in Franschhoek. Staff are so friendly and efficient. Food is easy and very affordable. CLEAN OMW... big thing for me. Every time I come to Franschhoek I come here and am yet to be disappointed. Great place 👌
MoreNew owners, chef and staff were awesome hosts! Food was great! Thank you again for the awesome hospitality. Definitely worth another visit
MorePrior to COVID, this place used to be one of the best casual restaurants in Franschoek. The burger was infamous. But since new management took over and the menu went from a handful of amazing items to pages and pages and pages of international cuisine the standards have slipped. My advice would be to scale down the menu, identify 10 excellent dishes and stick to that. No one needs to serve 50 dishes from 50 countries in one kitchen. Scale it down, keep it simple, this is restaurant 101 .
MoreFabulous restaurant for a festive dinner with wholesome tasty food! Loved the decor and the Eisbein was delicious! Highly recommend.
MoreLively little pub with excellent food. We had a simple bacon butty with chips and it was well prepared and the service was prompt and professional. If the amount of people in a place (especially localsmeans anything, the place was packed and still the service was efficient and quick. Prices are reasonable. I would recommend.
MorePerfect Pale Ale and great food. You sit inside the brewery, which makes for an amazing setting.
MoreBest Tacos I ever had, 5 star presentation, and attention to detail. Place is also beautifully finished, from tables to toilets. Service is friendly, efficient and very professional.
MoreQuaint microbrewery in Franschhoek. Menu items were good, but portion sizes differed quite a lot between meal selections. Try the potato samoosas.
MoreGreat food, great beer. The staff are friendly and Salomon really takes care of the guests. I can definitely recommend making a stop here.
MoreThis Micro Brewery is a Gem, the service is superb the food is excellent and without saying the Beer of my choice is their Tuk Tuk Lager. A place that is a definitive return for me and my friends. 5 Stars even 7.
MoreThe food, service, and ambience is always amazing. Sitting outside on a balmy evening enjoying a delicious TukTuk draft beer paired with nachos is the perfect dinner. Love this place. Well done Darren and team.
MoreI couldnt recommend this spot even if youre looking for some respite from the fine dining. The pizza is terrible, the tacos are acceptable, the beer is perfectly decent (but available elsewhere).I would avoid if at all possible.
MoreIn every aspect our lunch here was absolutely wonderful. Made with Fresh ingredients and tasted on par with a 5 star restaurant. I highly recommend. The service was friendly and fast and always paying attention. The beer is fantastic. Do yourself a favour and go to this restaurant at your nearest convenience. Ill be back as often as I can
MoreVisited on 26 November; we were starving and looked like a good place to eat close to our accommodation.Service was good; waiter was Snow. Pleasant and kind.I had the chicken burger. H had the beef burger.Phew... and truly I can agree with some of the other diners. Food was not great. The fries were good (apparently fried 3x or something), but other than that.. that burger had NO FLAVOUR. There wasnt a hint of salt or pepper in sight. He made me taste it: it was as bland as can be.The chicken burger (which was a chicken breastwas dry and had no flavour. I would suggest a simple salt brine for the chicken breast: it really helps to add moisture. All in all, if it wasnt for the good service from Snow, we would have been extra grumpy when we left!I will not be back!
MoreThe food was ok.. a bit salty but the beer experience was amazing..
Not sure what the fuss is about, clearly it is popular as there are always lots of visitors. When we visited the service was good but the food mediocre. The concept of different food from different countries are novel, but surely having quality is the most critical. Considering all the food options in Franschhoek there are several other establishments I would recommend rather...
MoreI would strongly suggest to avoid this restaurant and rather go to any other restaurant. The food was of a horrible standard,Bad service and we had to wait more than an hour for the food and worst of all the waiter grabbed the money as one of the people at our table put it down for me to take as I gave to much money when we split the bill.1/2 star as their beer is not bad but the rest is a 0 star for me
MoreWe had some nice beers and good foodThanks alot
What a gem! I love this place! The most amazing staff, delicious food (and a great selectionas well as a brilliant array of beers (their own were by far my favourite). I can’t wait to visit again!
MoreAwesome non alcoholic beer. Nachos excellent and enough to share. Great place, awesome restaurant.
MoreNice atmosphere just in front of a beautiful mountain at the Main Street of Franschhoek! The beer, cocktails and food are good, the service is okay!
MorePerfect spot for Saturday lunch. The beer tasting is outstanding and possibly the best fish taco I’ve ever had. Diverse menu with various dishes from Germany, US, Italy, Mexico and more.
MoreLovely place to grab a bite. Portions are great and service is friendly and efficient. Love the diversity of the menu that caters for every palate. The brew tanks in the middle is a great feature.
MoreGreat vibe! Good food! The menu is varied and has something for everyone. Lovely outside seating. Dogs allowed. Friendly staff.
MoreGreat beer, very nice menu and lovely atmosphere. With amazing apple struesel!
What a relaxed restaurant in Franschhoek. You can choose from a menu that provides dishes from various countries like Mexican, German, etc. The food is very tasty and the waiters are experienced, friendly and serves you with a smile. The restaurant is in the main road and easy to find.
MoreThe Franschhoek Valley is renowned for its wine, but recently the craft beer market has started to boom. If you enjoy craft beer this microbrewery should definitely be on your list. They have a wide range of their own beers to taste (Lager, Golden Ale, Weizen and Pale Aleas well as some beers from other craft breweries on tap. The tasting area doubles as a restaurant, so you can grab something to eat after tasting their beers. The menu consists mostly of light meals and snacks, and if you have a sweet tooth I can highly recommend you try their churros which were very tasty. The brewery is decorated in kind of a "Steam Punk" style and you have a view of the brewing equipment which is always interesting for beer enthusiasts. The indoor seating can get a bit cramped when they are busy so better for couples or smaller groups, but there is also an outside seating area which is great when the weather is nice.
MoreNice place for a quick bite and a cold beer. At top end of main street, so not as busy as other establishments.
MoreFood was nice, unfortunately they ran out of burgers what shouldnt happen. Im sure that they would have been the better choice. Beer was really great, especially the pale ale!
MoreA bit of a surprise. This was a wine trip but after a day on the Wine Tram, we could not imagine drinking any more. Stopped in here for a small snack and nightcap and enjoyed everything we had. We live in Munich and their Dunkles was pretty damn good, as was their IPA.
MoreSo.I come here when I really need a great beer after work (my favourite is the exclusive Dunkel; essentially a roasted lager)I come here when I want a good burger.I come here when I want the most amazing chirro dipped in hot chocolate sauce that one could ever ask for.Basically I just want to live here.
MoreNice venue, good service, great wine list and large flame heaters blaze as the rain falls on a cold franchhoek. Tasty looking menu (the two starters we tried were decent fare, but i loved the pork belly tacos with a berfect bslance of spice to flavour ratio complimented by a great acidity value in the salsathe tuk tuk craft beer was ;in my opinion rather boring - nothing stood out from the multitude of other micro brewers that are all doing the same thing.. Bearing in mind that i like different and experimental brews, so give them a bash and make up your own mind.
MoreVisited on the coldest night of the year. Good pub food and wonderful micro brewery which is managed by @CBCBrewingCompany. Food is reasonably priced for Franschhoek high street. Good WiFi. Underfloor heating. Staff are wicked and great service.
MoreCute little brewery next to Leeu house which serves Mexican food and a selection of CBC and its own Tuk Tuk beers (and wine of course as it’s in Franschhoek!)I opted for the tasting paddle with 4 of the core range plus the seasonal special which was a pale porter. They were all of a good quality with the latter tasting surprisingly pleasant! We also had a few veggie snacks which went down well with the drinks.Staff very friendly and helpful too.
MoreOn a wine tour we paid a visit to the Huguenot village of Franschhoek. We stopped for lunch at the Tuk Tuk Microbrewery. It was a pleasant location with outside seating. I had a hamburger and a beer sampler. The food was delicious and the beer tasty..Service was friendly and gracious.
MoreI had the Chimichangas with the pale ale, and my husband had the cheeseburger and chips with the dunkel beer. Divine meals and lovely beer. The smell of brewing beer permeates the place, which is not a bad smell at all, in fact its really divine.
MoreHad a small lunch with Tuk Tuk Cheese Burger and Ceasars salad. The Ceasars salad was a little bit small sized. The craft beer (Weizenwas really good. Fast and friendly service.
MoreVery good beer. Loved the dunkel and the wiezen. The larger is exceptional. I dont even like larger but I really really enjoyed it. The pale ale won a gold medal. Heard a rumour that it may be the best on the country. I cant speak to that but I can say IPA lovers will enjoy it a lot.Friendly people. Good service. Food is a little pricy for the portion size, although very good. Stay away from the pork belly if you are a big eater.
MoreDecent bar food. Nice craft beer. Reasonable prices. Service was good even though it was completely full.
MoreI had some beers and a nice burger. The burger was cooked to perfection, but it does feel pricey only being served with chips. The atmosphere is nice and festive and a lot of the patrons where watching the rugby.
