Chic site for modern tavern fare, such as parsnip fries & house-cured bacon, plus beers & cocktails.
Couldn’t fault a thing in this wonderful restaurant tucked away in the middle of the Gastown. Ambience, comfort, service, food, just everything is wonderful. Cant say enough about this place and cant wait to get back there again. Highly recommended Tuc Craft Kitchen.
A very cool and trendy restaurant in Vancouver.Great place to grab dinner and drinks.Creative menu, delicious food and great cocktails.Service was fantastic.
Great place for brunch with a vibrant atmosphere. I had the pork belly crackling and the crispy bacon and egg. Definitely as good as praised by previous reviewers.
We came to Tuc because I was in express need of the fried chicken and waffle, during our trip this would be the only time I had this, one of my favourite dishes, I was hoping not to be disappointed. And well, I wasnt, the generously sized piece of crunchy battered chicken and a soft waffle were perfectly balanced, with the sweet maple goodness on top, it was just the best thing ever. The coffee was great, and the staff were very nice too, so all in all, it was a 6 star experience.
Return visit, a few years since last here. We ordered beef marrow, lamb and tuna dishes. Could not fault anything. We had an 830 reso for 2 and definitely had an enjoyable experience. Thanks to the Tuc kitchen and and service staff.
Went there for dine out and food was honestly amazing. Got the marrow and hay and ahi tuna as the main. Very unique dishes and worth it for dine out. Only complaint is how long it took to get the food on the table. We waited more than half an hour for dessert, which was honestly just a sponge cake with whipped cream, but understandable because it was super busy.
Enjoyed this place and was one of the slower places on a Sunday which was a shock! The Chicken & Waffles that I had was amazing & a mountain of food! It was easily 2 meals. Not complaining as I still ate it all. :DStaff is on point and nice to see some delicious cocktails being made. When in Vancouver, will be back!
Came here for the dineout Vancouver special, for $25 its a very filling meal. I made reservations ahead of time online through Rest. The foods are mix of different cultures and flavors. Will come back for sure during regular times.
Was really good. Especially the chicken waffle is very delicious than my expectation with reasonable price
Food is amazing. Had someHappy hour bites (scotch egg is a must tryand tuna / steak mains, all of them were super tasty! Also recommend the hemingway daiquiri!
They were great at accommodating our team of 16 on the main floor (their mezzanine space was already booked for another partyThe group menu had 5 options for entrees, 3 starters to share & 2 dessert plates. Great selection of cocktails but most wines were priced per bottle & the ones a available by glass ranged from $10-15 for 5 oz. I opted for "jerk" chicken skewers, hubby raved about the beef in chocolate-wine sauce, but if I go back, Id order the seared Ahi Tuna on tumeric infused rice noodles.
Friendly and attentive service. Plenty of smiles to make you feel welcome. Didnt wait long for food order to arrive.Seafood Étouffée had a good level of spice. Seafood was well cooked and tasty. The rice accompanyment worked well with the strong flavour of the dish.Lamb in a Hole was also equally good and filling.Chocolate Ginger Budino. Yum, yum, yum.tuc ‘chocolate bar’ only one for the sweet tooth. Needed something to offset the sweetness. Its a spacious restaurant and plenty of room between tables. Almost a warehouse feel.Happy hour is definitely worth taking advantage of as alcohol charges are a bit pricey otherwise.Would return for a visit sometime.
Love their brunch and dinner menu. If youre hungry, try their chicken & waffles, its huge and oh so tasty.
I wish I could post a picture of curry Mac n cheese...but I already ate it because it was so ridiculously delicious. Wow. Yum.Also the cocktails that we tried were perfection.“Wow wee wow”,—my husband.
Tuc is probably my favourite restaurant in Gastown. You can count on great food and friendly service every time you go in.I highly recommend going in for their happy hour. They have a great selection of appetizers and bites for sharing that lets you try all the best items on the menu. They also have a nice variety of cocktails, all crafted to perfection. Brunch is also a must-do at Tuc, but go with an appetite because their portions are enormous (and the chicken and waffles divine!).I would say that The Pork Belly Crackle is the most popular and their best item on the menu, and something that everyone must try! The bits of pork are perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, with the wine reduction sauce adding just the right amount of flavour. All in all, Tuc is a favourite and would always recommend.
Amazing place where to eat something different. Romantic setting, thanks to the decor and lighting. We were served from an Irish waiter that was extremely nice. Loved my tuna with noodles. Absolutely recommended.
Incredible! The best service weve received in Vancouver! Glasses were always topped up, food was quickly ordered and also served in excellent time and the staff were consistently happy, friendly and bubbly. The food in a word: Divine! We ordered the Pulled Pork Waffles with Maple (picturedwhich hit every sweet & salty note perfectly, and also ordered the Vegetarian option of poached eggs with minted pea mash on crusty ciabatta: sublime! Those alongside the ice cold Mimosas, happy staff and a buzzing Sunday morning vibe became the best brunch we have been to so far! Thank you!
A very cozy place with one of the best fried chicken and waffles. Their square potatoes are uniques and must try along with mimosas!!
As we were planning our Vancouver vacation, I was a bit sad that we couldnt fit Tuc Craft Kitchen in our itinerary, but thanks to the unexpected weather change in Vancouver, we ended up booking the hop on/hop off tour bus and one of the stops of the bus was Gastown. As soon as I found out, I jumped from joy and told my husband that we were going to have brunch at Tuc Craft Kitchen.Tuc Craft Kitchen is a small establishment and if you are not paying attention, you will miss it. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the amazing staff and we were seated right away and brought two cups of water to our table. My husband ordered the Waffles & Pig and I ordered the Tuc Mex. The portion of both dishes was very generous. The waffle & pig is a take of the traditional waffles & fried chicken dish, but its served with pulled pork instead. The pork was very tender and flavorful. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The bright orange yolk of the egg was oozing out as you lightly poked the egg. My dish also came with poached eggs. It was served in a very cute cast iron skillet. The black beans with pieces of lamb....it was delicious. The presentation of both dishes was on point.I will definitely be back to Tuc Craft Kitchen next time I go to Vancouver. Tuc Craft Kitchen exceeded our expectations.
Great brunch, one of the best in Vancouver! Had the DIY mimosa (a very reasonably priced bottle of cava and OJbetween three people, and the pork and waffles. Really good quality food with interesting flavors. Definitely can have a wait on weekends, but worth it. Recommend.
Nut-free kitchen. Creative dishes such as elk carpaccio and curry mac and cheese. Perfect portions and efficient service. Wine by the glass a bit pricey.
Love this place!! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Their happy hour is great! A bottle of wine for $25 is awesome. I would recommend the parsnip fries and the pork belly. I had the blackened steak which was superb!! My friend had the tuna which she really enjoyed!
Awesome Food and Service!Unique menu and food, great drinks, nice ambience. Thanks for feeding us, we loved it and all the staff were friendly and amazing. :)
I had no idea what to expect when a friend brought me here, but ended up totally enamored by the service and the delicious options!A round of cocktails for the table that *everyone* enjoyed. I ordered the crusted chicken and had to fight off my friends from finishing it after I let them try it.Our waiter was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and even suggested a great next stop for cocktails. Cant wait to come try the brunch sometime.
Great atmosphere, delicious food with fancy presentation, friendly staff.Menu is a bit limited for vegetarian options, and a little pricey.
Delicious meat forward farm to table dining, amazing meat plates including elk carpaccio, charcuterie plate, steak, pork. One salad on the menu which was a beet, kale salad. Outstanding cocktail variety, very well balanced. Good wine selection, along with local beers. Seating is comfortable! Dining room and mezzanine up the stairs. Reservations accepted. Service was a little slow, I don’t like to see my drink empty. Waitress was knowledgeable about the offerings! I did find the 12oz steak very fatty, but the carpaccio was amazing. Open for brunch!
Atmosphere was great with a modern hipster vibe and the food was good too! The chicken and waffles are a big portion so I’d recommend splitting it with someone. The chicken itself was juicy but I wish they where more liberal with the sauce. The skillet was very savoury which is what we were looking for and I’d come again to try some of their other dishes.
Great service, good food. Nothing amazing but certainly a treat. Loud venue with quaint decor.Had the fish stew which was delicious.8/10.
Not your typical brunch place in Gastown. Get the chicken and waffles. You won’t regret it. The calories are worth it.
I really like this place! I came here with a group of friends and we had a fantastic time. Our server was named Amanda and she was very knowledgeable about the food the ingredients and all the drinks. She was very personable and we joked that she could sell us anything on the menu. I had the Hanger Steak à la Bourguignon. It was very tasty! My recommendation is that you order quickly, as it took a while for the food to arrive, around 20 minutes. The wait is worth it as the food tastes incredibly fresh.
Great restaurant in Gastown. Love the vibe in this place. It got busy fast at 7pm on a Saturday night, so its recommended to make a reservation. Must order the bacon and egg side, parsnip fries, and crackling pork belly!
Clean and bustling atmosphere. Good service and portion sizes.Chicken and waffles were good.Spam and eggs were a bit dry to my liking.Overall, Id come back again.
Had a wonderful dinner here while visiting on vacation. We had a fantastic Tuna Tartare appitizer!! I had the best NY strip i have ever had!! Last but not least, the Coconut “Irie” Cream dessert was outstanding and you want to lick the bowl. You NEED to stop in if you are nearby!
The pork belly is a must have and the parsnip fries are so unique. The salmon I had was probably the FRESHEST Ive ever had
Food and service was awesome! The chicken and waffles was the second time to ever eat and this one was the better dish. The chicken had a slightly sweet spicy sauce that tasted so good... The waffles were good too.Went for brunch as part of a large group reservation so food was pre-ordered so service may or may not be typical of dining experience however the service this time was terrific. Servers were readily available and drinks were being refilled as soon as they were getting low and water without needing to be asked.Menu prices are typical of higher end gastropubs. Im not typically liking to pay for these prices, but I still would come again as food so good.Parking is all street meter parking in the area. I parked on Pender that day which was $3 per hour.
Fantastic food and service!Went for brunch after friends wedding. This was my first time and found our server was fantastic and the chicken and waffles I ordered to be also fantastic.Loved the deep fried chicken and slightly spicy sauce and Maple syrup for the waffles. The Americano they serve is pretty good straight, although I did add milk this time.I saw other dishes they served to others at same table and they all look fantastic as well. Our server was fantastic. She was very quick with taking our orders, refilling our waters and bringing our bill.Despite the price, I would definitely come again.
The place and service is very nice. Waffle fried chicken is pretty good especially the chicken is very crispy and moist. Fried cabbage and eggs are great! The shrimps and grit...I dont really like it... Shrimps dont have taste and the grit is too rich for me even though it has really good taste to me... You might find it really good if you like rich grit!
Ive been here on 2 separate occasions, once for brunch and once for lunch. The food is definitely on the heavier side - after all they are known for the comfort foods. However they also have other options as well. For bunch I had the chicken & waffles (the portion was huge). The free range chicken breast was fried well and paired nicely with the waffles. The time I went for lunch I had the beef brisket and pork crackling sandwich - SO good! It reminded me a lot of the porchetta sandwich at meat & bread but with beef brisket added. I wasnt a huge fan of the smashed potato fries but the sandwich itself was delicious. The service was good both times. The downsides are the tables are a little squished together and there can be a bit of a wait.
Was in Vancouver for the weekend and looked up whats the top place to eat within a budget and this was on the top. Have a reservation as I got lucky and got a seat without one on a Sunday evening.Service was top. Food was another level. If youre traveling from the states or wherever and you want "Canadian food" its something here. Its their comfort food. Went with family and we all ordered different stuff. Their glazed chicken was quality, their beef was top and their steak was wicked delicious. Their sodas are cool to try too, theyre crafted old school style sodas. Like they have their own cola and doesnt taste as sweet as coke but the packaging and everything just felt neat. Also it was a really nice environment to sit in. Cozy for sure. Parking is street parking so not a big deal during off peak hours.
This is quite an amazing restaurant. The menu is short but solid. The fried egg is just a piece of art. I would come back just for that. The steak and frites is outstanding and the brie and elk carpaccio were to die for. Definitely on the best in Vancouver and gastown. Definitely coming back. Be sure to make reservation. Great place!!!
I’ve eaten at Tuc four times, alone and with friends. Great, friendly bar staff, an interesting cocktail list, superb food, and just the right kind of ambience — not too loud, not too quiet, perfect lighting. One of my Vancouver favorites.
Their fried chicken waffles was so delicious. They serve really good coffee too.
Delicious brunch. Fried bacon and eggs were yummy. Huge portion of chicken and waffles! Farmers skillet was tasty too. Came back for dinner with my co-workers and it didnt disappoint! Great drinks and delicious food! Im coming back for more and Im sure my coworkers are too!
Good lunch spot which is quick and tasty. Food was well presented and quite unique. I have the pork croquettes and lamb dukkah as my main. The pork was great and then lamb was very cooked but a bit greasy. The sides were lovely.
Pretty hip and modern restaurant. Good selection of beers, cocktails were decent. Service was pretty friendly. I didnt really have anything wrong with the restaurant but at the same time nothing really "wow"ed our group. The horseradish puree steak was lacking any punch, the "pickled veggies" were nothing more than veggies covered in vinegar, and the fries were shoestring and kind of lame. Overall a decent experience.
Get the chicken and waffles for brunch. Just do it. Also add on the DIY mimosas. They all have fantastic cocktails in the evening.
Enjoy the ambition and great service. Not impressed with chicken waffle, waffle is soaky and not crispy enough to add more sauce.
Get the chicken and waffles on weekend. Juicy and big pieces. Comes with tasty gourmet sauces. And bacon battered eggs
I love this place. My personal favourite when it comes to chicken & waffle in town. Tried other ones too but i always come back to eating this. Great portion too. Comes out satisfied always.
I have had chicken and waffles at a few places in Vancouver now but I think this is going to take the top spot for now. These were mind blowing. The service was was quick and staff were very polite. I would definitely come back. Great place for brunch.
