1100 Tuacahn Dr, Ivins, UT 84738, United States, Saint George
Nonprofit featuring plays & concerts in an amphitheater with canyon views & smaller indoor theaters.
Probably one of the best theatre experiences I had in a very long time. I attended their performance of Wonderland, a musical that near and dear to me. And going to this venue alone was like going to another world. The star of the theatre is without a doubt the red canyons (snow canyonitself. And the staff was so inviting, its like they knew I was flooded with excitement. Will be making the trip from Orlando again soon for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We really need more theatres like Tuacahn!
I LOVE TUACHAN! Last night I went with my family to go see “Joesph and the amazing technicolor dream coat” I really recommend seeing it if you can it was awesome! I also saw marry poppins, beauty and the beast, and wonderland. They were all good but wonderland wasn’t very good but the rest were. And the land scape is beautiful and it always seems to be good weather there. I highly recommend going if you can.
Love this venue! We saw all 3 of their productions this summer. Looking forward to going back next summer. Highly recommend.
The theater has a great backdrop! The temperature was great as the sun was setting it was creating shade in the area of the stage. It gets windy so that is why they say it gets cool and to bring a jacket or something. I did see alot of people with their own water bottle. Parking can take a minute after the play so be patient! Would I go again yes!
Tuacahn is truly amazing. We have been to many different shows. There is never a bad seat! Make sure you bring some water and a jacket in the spring and fall as it gets colder than expected because you are in the canyon.
Mary Poppins was amazing. My 6 year old Granddaughter loved it. I think she may have caught the Tuachan Bug! They never cease to amaze me.
Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat was amazing!!Sadly, David Archuleta wasnt here as previously promised, but Joshua Strickland was a great sub :)This was only my second time seeing an outdoor performance, my first was at Sundance seeing Cinderella earlier this summer. This venue completely blows Sundance out of the water in terms of quality (no offence to the actors there -- they did greatbut the sheer resources they had here at Tuacahn... dear GOD.Live animals, people coming out of the background, using the environment and nature. Just inspired. You couldnt get an experience like this literally anywhere else. The weather happened to be perfect as well -- that is the only caution I would give: you are 100% subject to Mother Natures fickle whims. If it rains, better hope you brought a poncho. If it is hot that evening, welp I hope you can deal with St. George being a desert because you are watching a play in Hades butt. Just the reality of an outdoor play. The fact that they allow you to bring in your own food, drinks, cushions, etc is also freaking amazing. When everywhere else is so greedy its a breath of fresh air to find a venue that allows this kind of freedom.Keep up the great work Tuacahn!!
Visited the Tuacahn for the first time this year - it was AMAZING! We drove down to see the Piano Guys in April then we saw Mary Popppins in June - and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had Mary Poppins flying! Loved it! The music was fabulous! We went back again in August to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat with David Archuleta performing as Joseph - again it was absolutely AMAZING! Great place!
Tuacahn was amazing. We saw the Count of Monty Cristo and it was stunning, moving and incredible. Amazing voices, outstanding talent, beautiful live music and dancing throughout the whole show. The outdoor theater set in the red rock canyon is so unique and they utilize the setting so well.If you havent been to a show here yet, you are missing out! Hot or cold weather, rain or shine, Ive been to shows in all weather and I am always impressed with the theater and the special effects they add to their amazing shows.2022 - just saw Joseph and it was incredible!
Always a wonderful time at Tuacahn for Broadway quality entertainment. Very clean, friendly staff. Lines move fast. Mary Poppins tonight.
We saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and it was unbelievably good. The music was fantastic and the costumes were fabulous. Every actor was fantastic. They had people fly above the crowed, they had fireworks, everything. It was hot, even when the sun went down, so definitely take a big water bottle. They let you bring in outside drinks and I highly recommend it. We had seats but there are some lawn spots. The lawn spots are off to the side and they look pretty steep and uncomfortable. I am glad we paid extra for seats.
Beautiful backdrop formed by the red sandstone cliffs immediately behind the outdoor amphitheater. Shows are first-class, with excellent talent. Plan on arriving early and leaving ate, due to constricted traffic in and out. Concessions are somewhat reasonable. A bit warm in the heat of the summer, however, even in the evening.
Anytime I get a chance I go and you should too. The entire atmosphere is outstanding and all of the productions are as well. I highly recommend anybody visiting St George to see if you can get a ticket for any current show they have. If you live in St George and you havent been to a production yet your cutting your happiness short by not doing so. We revisited last night to see wonderland and it was so fantastic this time we sat in the third row and we had dinner in the cafe. Delicious food and I cant say enough about the production of wonderland hoping to start volunteering there now
Our family saw Mary Poppins and it was one of the best shows we have ever seen. The costumes, talent, props and the outdoor scenic views were breathtaking. We paid a little more to be closer and there was water and cushioned seat covers which was fantastic. There’s a 15 min intermission with plenty of concessions. You can bring your own food and drinks if you’d like. I highly recommend for families or a date night. The surrounding mountains are stunning! This place will not disappoint!
Joseph was so much fun! The show was so good! The staff was so friendly! If you are on a special diet.. there isnt much there for you though so dont come hungry.
Ive seen and enjoyed plays and concerts here.Beautiful backdrop for both.Shows are awesome and well worth the price.
This theater goes all out. From a human disco ball to live animals in the show. I just saw Joseph and the technicolor dream coat and it was amazing! I loved their take on it and the things they added to make it uniquely their own. ❤️ I love that it is an outdoor theater and that the red rocks are there all around as you watch.
Absolutely love coming here the shows the customer service I never get tired of it its so beautiful
We were here for Wonderland and it was great! Food and snacks are kinda pricey but similar to a movie Theater. We have tickets for many more shows to come this fall! Fun date night!
Amazing venue. Saw Joseph and the backdrop of the mountains were so majestic and beautiful. Friendly service and accommodations.
Great seats poor mister aisle 3 row CC 1-11 seats see the terrible dripping water from the mister. Clean restroom organized flow of restroom, great performance. Uncomfortable dripping… avoid these seats if coming in the hot summer months or wear waterproof clothing or poncho right before the show. Maintenance needs to move the mister. They did turn off the mister right before the show.
Great, and incredibly unique, venue for Broadway shows. We have seen 3 productions here the summer and have loved it everytime. Ample free parking with quick exits after the show. Great gift shop, plenty of food choices for a quick, casual dinner. For our 3rd show we Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It was beyond good. Great actors, creative use of props and stage, and it is easy to see the stage from anywhere in the amphitheater. We will definitely be returning to see more productions again soon!
This theater and surrounding area is gorgeous! We went to a show and it was so well done, the sets were amazing and the performers did a fantastic job! If you get there a little late the parking is kinda difficult, but not impossible. Highly recommend seeing a show here! The gift shop and Cafe are top notch too.
Watching a production here at the Tuacahn Amphitheater is a must do activity if youre in the area! They have a wide variety of shows to choose from throughout the year!It isnt Broadway quality, but still very professional and well done! The atmosphere is what pushes it to a 5 star rating. Its nestled up in the red mountains in the area! Not super far outside of St. George. One thing I feel that Tuacahan Center could do to improve the flow of their shows is when/if the weather forecast shows its going to rain 80% chance or above.1st - Dont wait 30 minutes to decide if youre going to put the production on. When we got here it hadnt rained and was clear skys since 8:15 pm. The show started at 8:45 pm. They waited until 9:15 pm to allow people in. They didnt even check peoples tickets! In short, just choose straight away before showtime if youre going to perform or not. Or, it makes for a VERY LATE NIGHT.3rd - Seating doesnt make since price wise. You can get 5-20 rows back for example in the center section. The tickets cost less sometimes than the back seats in the center. On that note because it had rained pretty good up until 8 pm, we got dropped on the first half of the show.Seating, I will say there isnt really a bad seat in the whole place.Rain ponchos - Should be provided for free or at least a fair price for the cheap rain It is outdoors after all and not their first rodeo. Especially for those who have drainage water dripping on them from the above rafters. :)Read the fine print, you will not get a refund for bad weather, but at least youll get a credit if it does get rained out. (you have 12 months to use the credit)- Great staff that is happy to help and courteous!-Clran facilities!-Good variety of snacks.Again what makes this special and a fiver star rating is the atmosphere! Thats a lot what you play for. The talent is of course really good as well! just not Broadway quality, but you get what you pay for thats for sure. Just. beautiful, affordable activity for your family or significant other! Even a great time to go with your friends.Keep up the great work Tuacahan Center for The Arts! (Tuacahn Amphitheater)
First time but wont be the last! Breathtaking Amphitheater surrounded by Southern Utahs red cliffs. Good view of stage even on the "cheap" seats, easy drive to get there with again, great scenery. Professional performances and staging/lighting. Stadium type seats.. Food vendors and restrooms. During the summer it is very Hot, so bring water/fans/frog togs etc. for more comfort. Evening performances do not need a hat, Im not sure with afternoon performances.
Went to see Wonderland and I loved it! Great venue. Super cool production with "flying", great audio/visual, and I loved the take on the Alice in Wonderland story. Consessions and even seat cushion rentals are available. Definitely get the frozen lemonade to keep you cool.
We watched Joseph - what an amazing show. The ticket prices are reasonable, as well the concession treats. The atmosphere with the red rock canyon behind it, is magical, especially in the summer. The parking is free and easy to access. Restrooms spacious and clean. The shop has great souvenirs. It was a truly enjoyable experience for kids and everyone!!!
Just saw Buddy Holly for second time last night.AMAZING cast. They all play their own instruments and most play multiple.High energy from start to finish. One of the best we have seen. We come to Tuacahn every year but this one truly amazing!!!!We encouraged several friends and neighbors to go see this and all have loved it.
I was not sure what to expect.. it was absolutely beyond my dreams. The characters and their ability to sing so many difficult ballads, I saw pure, real talent. My 10 y/o loved and was entertain and engaged from beginning to the day end!!
We went here to see Mary Poppins and it was incredible!!!! The scenery and all the costumes were so well done. And all of the cast did an amazing job...especially the people that played the banks children, Mary Poppins, and Bert. It is definitely somewhere Im planning to go again one day.
Visited just to see the amphitheater and its breathtaking. The theater built into to environment conforms naturally and is absolutely beautiful. The Box Office and concessions all nicely done so without even seeing a show an impressive stop.
Fun experience. Great voices. The new electronic visual display makes me feel like Im back to watching a movie that Im not a fan of. We go to see a play to see talented actors in person.
This place has the most awesome location, hidden up in the canyon, and has great snacks and drinks. The shows are also amazing, professional quality! Totally worth it.
Third row for "Mary Poppins". Spectacular. Superior acting. Cushion for seat and bottle of water provided. Very wide variety of food available. Sound system very clear and at optimum volume, not too loud. Incredible location and scenery to enjoy before show. Line at bathrooms during intermission moves quickly. Only complaint is that the orchestra is in a studio under the left section of seats. Probably great for sound quality control, but I would love to see the musicians.
Went to the opening of Mary Poppins at Tuacgan and what a great experience. The theater is amazing in and of itself but the play was out of this world. Im really not into musicals but this performance had me from the opening scene. The props were very well done and the performers knocked it out of the park. This is one show that I will highly recommend to everyone.
The amphitheater provides a very unique experience when watching a performance. Outside with a red rock cliff and mountain backdrop is something you should experience if you have any interest at all in the performing arts. To be honest, even if you don’t like the performing arts, it can be a nice outing. If your event is earlier in the day I would bring a hat or sunglasses however. It can get hot outside. Again, would recommend to anyone, and if you are a theatre enthusiast, why are you reading this? Just get tickets already!
Love the Tuacahn! You just cannot beat the view! Although tickets are pricey, it is totally worth it. Every time I’ve been, things have been clean and nice. Employees have been friendly, helpful, and easy to find. If you go early or late in the season, be sure to bring a warm jacket and/or blanket! It can get really chilly. But everything has always been top quality and so much fun!
Fantastic venue for any outdoor event. Love the plays and concerts Weve attended here over the years.
This place is magic! The natural scenery and atmosphere are unmatched. You feel as if you found an oasis due to the sound and beauty. Speaking of sound, the quality of the sound was amazing. No reverb, no echo just crisp clear instruments and voices. I realize the sound guy has much to do with this, I am acknowledging that surrounded by all rock, real and fake, could have had negative impact. It did not. I wasnt even a true fan of the band, just a fan of music. This venue did not disappoint. There were plenty of convenient concessions. The seating ensures all a great view of the performance. And I truly cant say enough about the majesty of the natural surroundings. Even to look up and see stars so clearly added to the treat. Pictures dont do it justice.
Amazing place! A hidden gem in the mountains. Looking forward to going back for another show someday👍👍
We did not attend any productions, technically I dont think it was opened but we went to gander at the landscape and the layout. I do believe it would be a great place to take the family for an evening.
Love the shows here! Beautiful canyon away from the city noise. Great theater (just avoid the hot monthsfalls are amazing. They get done really nice bands in that beats driving to SLC or Vegas. Family safe is a big plus. Id recommend seeing any show here.
We had such a wonderful time at Tuacahn! The production value was very impressive, and we left with so many great moments to talk about. The cast performed beautifully and were very skilled. The set was so well done. Everything was great! I definitely plan to make a trip to Tuahcan every year now.
Absolutely amazing place to watch a Broadway show. The view spectacular, the cast outstanding. We loved it so much, we went two nights in a row
This is our 1st time visiting the Tuacahn Amphitheatre. We saw the Broadway production Beauty and the Beast. The Amphitheatre is breath taking to say the least. Outdoors under the stars with an incredible red cliff back drop. The play was spectacular in every sense. Fantastic performance and thoroughly entertained!! Would definitely return and do this again!! Great show and atmosphere!
Beautiful outdoor theater and a show Ill never forget! Red Rocks backdrop was unrealistic. It provided a magnificent ambience and added depth to the show as well. Performers were great too. Saw <The Count of Monte Cristo> and was impressed throughout the show on how the team composed the stage. Definitely recommend and would come back myself.
Oh, my, goodness. This place is FANTASTIC! They chose the perfect place for an outdoor theater because it is sheltered by the rocks and the weather is usually cooperative. Tickets are a little pricey, but the experience is worth it. They have phenomenal actors, lighting, and sound. We were in the very back row, but still felt super involved. If you are a theater nerd or just enjoy a well done production, this is the place for you. It is family friendly (except that you cant bring in babies)or the perfect place to go on a date with that special someone! The workers there are helpful and courteous and they have multiple bathrooms so that you dont have to wait too long in line during intermission!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Even in the sweltering heat, the actors performed at their absolute best. We sat close enough that we could see the main actor sweating a ton as the night went on. I applaud the level of commitment they all showed.Tuacahan did not cheap out with their props, they even had blanks from cannons and guns to make the fighting scenes even more intensified. I would highly recommend going to see a show here. We saw the Count of Monte Cristo and it truly exceeded my expectations.
Beautiful stage..beautiful scenery! It gets blasted hot there, so stay hydrated. Best seats are the ones on the back rows because they have misters set up around row cc.
We had seats on the grass. There was no problem seeing. The people in the play were great! The sounds system was great! The stage was set in the middle of some red mountains.
