180 El Camino Real Ste 1140, Palo Alto, CA 94304, United States, Silicon Valley
Relaxed, eco-chic chain serving health-conscious fare, including vegan options, plus cocktails.
Awesome turkey burger but the service was s.l.o.w. The kale and squash sides were good too.
I love this restaurant and I have gave many one star reviews after receiving bad service and they have reached out to me to apologies and even given me gift certificates. And I’ve offered the manager a Starbucks card to show my appreciation. Today must have been a bad day but I don’t appreciate how I was told by the same nice lady that she would help me after she helped someone who came in before me who actually did not come in before me. I was also dissapointed in the fact that the lady who helped me on the phone said, you should bring in a physical card. My issue is that if they advertise that they have Apple Pay why should I be treated differently. I eat here all the time but I they didn’t have to insult me and treat me any different because they are not properly trained.
Fantastic restaurant that offers quite a number of delicious options. We tried the ancient grains bowl and the Korean bowl. The ancient grains bowl was fantastic and had so many flavor profiles. It looked very catchy and every bite was umami.I went to the Palo Alto location on a busy Saturday afternoon for lunch. Though the wait was initially 45 mins, they were able to accommodate me in 20. Its a pretty large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating area and is quite lively. There are many vegetarian and vegan options as all.The only downside is the cost. The bowls do not come with protein and even a handful of chopped tofu is 5 dollars extra. For this reason alone, this cannot be your regular weekend Haven. It can easily cost you 30 plus per person.
The venue is really nice, and some of the dishes are amazing. Like the hummus starter dish, it’s really good. However, there are a few details that they got wrong that made the overall experience not so great. We asked for a seating outside, but were told that we needed reservation for that. Despite that there were seven or eight empty tables outside. So we left and walked around for 20 minutes, and then passed by the same place again. There were still about 10 or so empty tables outside. So I went in and asked again if we can get a table outside, and this time there was a different person and she said: of course. I don’t get why they didn’t let us get a table in the first place, it wasn’t good service. The brunch meal was good, but the coffee was cold, the bread was too dry, and service was slow. Overall, the place has great potential if they can fix just a few things.
Just got two dishes to go. The fresh produce and creative flair in vegan cooking was phenomenal. It will definitely inspire me to experiment with my cooking. The pizza had a homemade vegan almond ricotta and its the first vegan cheese substitute I have enjoyed.
Amazing food experience. Staff was great and food was delicious.
Nice fresh, whole food options. Kale salad wasnt great (not much to it), but the brussel sprouts and hummus plate were delicious. Others in our party liked their meals a lot.
The food was pleasantly and surprisingly good. The waitress was very good and way better then most places you go in silicon valley. If it was so pricey and the fact that they are our of things on the menu it would be 5 stars. Try the Brussel Sprouts appetizer and the butternut squash soup. Both very very good. I found myself to be o e of 3 guys in the place to about 40 women sitting and eating. I tealy liked those numbers. The restroom was clean
Do not recommend the margherita pizza. Picked up 3 pizzas to go today and all but 4 slices were good. Rest of it was just flour and sauce. Call it a wafer!
Very fresh ingredients were used for my Seasonal Salad. Delicious.Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Outdoor seating was plentiful, with sun and shade available. We will return!
Never do I give a restaurant 5 stars. This one deserves it. The food is clean and uniquely flavorful. The staff is attentive and friendly. Two of us announced the salmon the best theyve ever had! My vegetarian bowl was delicious. The only down side is the high noise level in indoors. Suggest outdoor seating when weather is nice.
We never get to eat out because of food allergies. True food was able to make us a clean meal that my daughter could enjoy. Nicole was so friendly and accommodating.
I usually go to True Food in San Ramon. My two friends and I came here. We got guacamole, corn soup, two teriyaki bowls and the Cobb salad. There are some vegan options but not as much as you might expect. The prices are high but I was okay with it for quality food and good service. However all of our glassware was full of food particles and chunks. We got a glass of wine and the mini carafe was full of food. So we asked for a new one and they brought it. But while we waited we noticed all of our waters also were dirty glasses. Also one persons food came out and we had to wait a king time before anyone else’s food came so it was a bit awkwar. So we spent $100 or so and I really think they could improve their service and cleanliness. Food was tasty. Won’t go to this location again.
Very fancy and healthy-sounding food choices. Happy atmosphere/ambience. The service was average (we would have liked more attention). We were a group of six and one mentioned that it feels too much as a cantina due to its size and acoustic. The toilets were clean enough and have a nice architecture.---Update: I was here three times in the meantime and still like it coming here. The only issues are a relatively high price and the lack of low-caloric beverage options. At our last visit we experienced amazing service: An item was out of stock and the kitchen went next door and bought it.
Great place to hang out with family, friends or a date. Great ambience and the food is a tasty take on healthy food. I have multiple times. I really like their appetizers and juices especially charred cauliflower, edamame dumplings, pickle pear juice and kale salad.
Ordered food for delivery. Aside from the restaurant not including my entire order the food quality and portions were extremely disappointing and did not even somewhat align with the pictures online. Restaurant didn’t even check to make sure my whole order was included yet charged me in full. Didn’t even check to see if there were utensils.Ordered the watermelon salad for $14, came with 6 small cubes of watermelon and 6 thinly sliced Persian cucumbers.Corn chowder soup - cold and wateryPita bread quality - thin and meager.Overpriced and small portions- would have barely been enough food for our toddler alone. Save your money.
Such a nice restaurant with great ambience, delicious food and hearty service. Our server was suddenly sick so our table was not attended for a while. But the manager made it up by offering us all the appetizers and deserts. We tried all the appetizers and they were fantastic. Food was so fresh and they stimulated our taste buds. All the entries came out nicely as well. We had a great meal with friends and family. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food tasted really good. I like the lasagne. It has tomatoes and cheese on it. I like the lemon flavor in the lasagna. The pizza tasted really good. I like the crust. It’s baking fresh. The bad thing about this store is that the price is not cheap! Serving size is small….
awesome spot! lots of seating indoors and outdoors!menu + service could improve, but not bad.food was delicious and fresh!Make reservations online!
Was just here recently in the week. It was not my first or second time being here and I always have received great service. That day was quite the exception. It started with being seated at a table with no QR code. Considering servers are going based off that, I thought it would be a hassle. Instead of seating us elsewhere, the host lets us know we will have a server coming. I thought okay fine, no biggie. Nobody comes and takes our order for like a solid 7-10 minutes. Finally this guy shows up and he was only there for like 30 seconds. A different person then came to bring our food, and the drink I asked for was yet to be seen anywhere in sight. When I asked for it she had no clue what I even asked for. I figured okay, it is busy because it’s the fourth. However, the service continued to like decline. It took forever to get my drink and by that point I don’t even know if its what I asked for but after waiting so long I said whatever. After finished eating, nobody cameup to check on us and I had to ask someone else to bring us the check for the table. It took them a good minute to figure it out. I also had to walk up to someone down to check out. She seemed really confused by it all. Because of course, no one was attending to us. After 5 minutes, yet another person comes to bring us our check because he admitted he didn’t know how to get the tab out or find us. It seems like they are either very short staffed or just lack of direction/communication amongst each other.
I had the Grilled Chicken & Mozzarella Panini, which was delicious! The mozzarella melted in your mouth as you took a bite of juicy chicken. The panini was also partly crunchy and partly soft. One minor gripe is that the pricing was a little high, but we had a great time and really enjoyed the aesthetics of this restaurant.
Food was quite good and very healthy. I appreciate how they list calorie information on the menu, and most things are low calorie. Prices are reasonable. Service was not that great however, they seemed way overloaded and the ordering system was buggy.
I came here with a couple of friends for dinner. The food was really great - it was made with high quality ingredients, the portion size was just right, and I would definitely recommend the Sea Bass and the Cauliflower Appetizer. Our server was really nice, attentive, and did a great job anticipating our needs. Knocking off one star because the host was not nice (didnt even greet us or look at us on the way outand refused to seat us outside even though there were many empty tables when we arrived and when we left.
High prices and mediocre menu. Corn, curry soup was awful. No corn, bland flavor. Not worth $8! Flatbread with veggies wasnt bad. Lasagna with meat was tasty. Vegan cheesecake with strawberries rather bland. Busy and crowded. Staff nice and efficient. Wont go back.
I loved the food and the waitstaff were great, but the process to get a table was very bad.My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant for a walk-in midday on a Saturday, and the hostess was rude to us. And complained in front of us about "too many walk-ins".The same rudeness was not given to the people before us or after us. We waited around where she was very cordial and helpful to other people.I wont guess why she decided my boyfriend and I deserved to be treated differently, but I will say it was unprofessional and reflected poorly on True Food Kitchen.
Visited on weekend lunch. Good and popular items are sold out. I expected slight higher quality and taste for that cost. The hummus is not real hummus like you taste at Mediterranean places it taste completely different. If you sit outside food gets cold really soon due to the corner wind direction.
Found this resteraunt from googling vegan restaurants near stanford. Many good choices, though not all the vegan options are labeled, so you should ask if you arent sure (the sides arent labeled as vegan even though some of them are). Also, for the first vegan restaurant that comes up, there werent as many vegan options as I expected. So I recommend checking the menu first if you are eating with picky vegans as there are other resteraunts nearby that have more vegan options.
We ordered a few different dishes, all of them were great, especially the spinach & mushroom pizza. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because our waiters were not that great. They were confused on whose tables are being served by whom. When they brought us Edamame dumplings, server accidentally dropped the whole spoon into the bowl, to which they said:"Whoops!" And left. I had to go and ask for a new one, because the server just left and went chatting to coworkers.Felt quite disorganized. Will not be returning back. For $75 light lunch for 2, I expect well coached staff, who care.
Our favorite place for healthy comfort food. This is our must visit when in Palo Alto. We have been fans of True food since LA days and this place never disappoints. This time we ordered edamame dumplings, vegan burger and ancient grains bowl. It does get busy for dinners and on weekends so make a reservation ahead of time.
Absolutely delicious. I feel full but not heavy because it’s super healthy. I like ordering and paying using a QR code.
Incredible food. I originally went to their location in Las Vegas and was stoked to see that they had several California locations. The edamame dumplings are a must and their butternut squash pizza was even better that I thought it would/could be
It was a good experience. Service was outstanding, great communicators - sadly majority of the items on the menu not available. Great spot to enjoy some good brunch, good cocktails and (non alcoholicrefreshers. I enjoyed my burger and pizza (veganbut they got non vegan options as well.
A lot of vegan options. New, creative, eclectic menu options (some are on the expensive end).Edamame Dumplings a must try.Plenty of room indoors and outdoors. Good ambiance.
A wonderful setting and a delicious menu. The service was excellent, though the open door left us a little chilly (in January)
It’s a good place for small bites and vegan lovers! Giving one star less because the chips they served with Guacamole dip were too salty and nothing could be done! But the service is good and the ambience is really colorful and safe during Covid time! Kids friendly place!
Have been a fan of edamame dumplings for a while! Good food overall even though limited vegetarian options. Loved the Brussels sprouts too- with miso and sesame vinaigrette and the butternut squash soup wit my sage was wholesome comfort on a cold evening!
If youre looking for healthy, seasonal dishes this is the place. Theres something for everyone, even the pickiest eaters. The staff is also super attentive and nice.
Service started out strong and then faded throughout and then was nothing when it came time to get the check. Food was very fresh, but not my style. Food would get high marks, the stars are due to the service wait times.
This place was amazing. Great ambience, very helpful staff, great service and top of it all great food.We ordered Vegan Double Cheese burger and it was delicious. I am usually a fan of Impossible/Beyond burgers and rarely like veggie/beans patties in veggie burgers. But this was an exception. The patty was surprisingly too delicious. It was very flavourful and crunchy on the out plus soft inside. We also dared to experiment with pizza here by ordering butternut squash pizza and that also turned out well. I dont like pineapple and any sweet stuff on my pizza and I was sure that this pizza would also turn out not so great. But it did.Edmame Guacamole side dish was also not bad.
You should make a reservation even for weekday lunchtime! Usually, an hour wait.Service wasn’t that great since shortage for staff. The food was so good! I ordered Hamburger and Hash/Kale on the side, and Edamame Dumpling. Hamburger meat was cooked perfectly, the flavor was good. I enjoyed Dumpling too, tasty dashi soup.
Its healthy food for sure, but not amazingly good. I got a seasonal salad for entree and brussel sprouts as an appetizer, but they were basically raw. The salad was very hard to chew on because of the raw cauliflower and raw brussel sprouts. Overall good flavors, clean and great service. Definitely get the squash pie 🥧. That was for real delicious 😋
If you are looking for a healthy food option with lots of options for vegans and vegetarians, then this restaurant located right inside the Stanford shopping center, near the famous Stanford university may be the place you are looking for. This restaurant has lots of seating capacity with choice of indoor as well as outdoor seating. There is ample parking spots right outside the restaurant in the parking lot of the shopping center. Today we went with a couple of friends and we ordered the charred cauliflower and the edamame guacamole for starters. For drinks we ordered Adaptogenic Honey tulsi tea as well as Sparkling prickly pear. The charred cauliflower was really delicious. The char in the cauliflower was just right enough to compliment the sweet and nutty notes in the cauliflower. The sauce that accompanied it was really tasty as well. The addition of dates and pistachios was a very interesting touch which brought the dish together. The guacamole was really fresh and slightly chunky in texture. The homemade chips served as a perfect vehicle to deliver the taste of the guacamole. The tulsi tea was refreshing and it has a perfect balance from the freshness of the mint with the sweetness of the honey and the tanginess from the lemon. The prickly pear juice was also tasty although we could not get too much of the prickly pear flavor itself. For the mains at ordered the spinach and mushroom pizza, the ancient grains bowl, the chicken Parmesan and the chicken panini. The pizza was vegan and had a really good crust and the spinach and mushroom combined with the almond ricotta was a good combo for the toppings. The chicken dishes were ordered by our friends and they really liked it. The ancient grains bowl was amazing and delicious. The standout was the miso glazed sweet potatoes along with the pesto. This combined with the veggies and the charred onions and flavored quinoa was something that I really enjoyed and will definitely recommend. The waiting staff were accommodating and polite and the food was brought to us without any delays. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience.
We had a great breakfast here this morning on the patio. We enjoyed egg and sausage sandwich, garden scramble, Avocado toast, and banana pancakes. We enjoyed a matcha and dirty chai lattes. Our waitress was awesome. Great service. She brought water for two dogs.
This is truly a good concept restaurant. The menu appeases vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. They have done an excellent and imaginative job of creating dishes that burst with flavor and that piques your interest with a photo finish beauty. Its not a complex, long winded menu either. Avocado and lime pie? Edamame dumplings? And it all sounds super healthy. The drinks/cocktails are very sweet, so adding an extra shot adds more oomph. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, reservations are highly recommended but a personal phone call will usually make a table magically appear!
Great Ambiance.Tasty food!Healthy drinks!Fun alcoholic drinks! On a Saturday night, we were seated right away at the bar. 20 minute wait if we had chosen a table.Lights were dimmed around 7:45 PM to compliment the setting sun. Overall, great service. I would definitely come back!
Ive been to a couple other True Food locations in San Diego and Santa Monica, and gotta say this Palo Alto location is a slight letdown compared to those other ones. Ive had 2 mediocre-borderline-bad service experience which I associated with an important True Foods trait. Sometimes foods are great, other times the proportions and tastes are severely lacking (shrimp taco, chicken panini).
Its been awhile because of Covid, but first time back they are just as good as how I remember. Food is exquisite. Ordered tofu bowl..grains were deliciously seasoned. Margherita pizza and mushroom burger ..just excellent! Decided to try an apricot bourbon drink ..was not expecting much but was surprised by a perfectly crafted cocktail..super impressed. Keep up the good work !
One of my all time go to place. I love their edamame dumplings and pizza. Lasanga was a little disappointing but all other food was top notch. Their cocktails are pretty good as well. Try to go on a weekday. Weekends are usually 1+ hour wait
Take-out season, thanks COVID 🤷🏻♂️. They were crazy-busy. Got two drinks on the house, for waiting. We ordered ancient grain bowl (vegan), Spaghetti Squash Casserole (vegetarian), and butternut squash pizza (vegan). Delicious, lick your fingers-off tasty!
Located in the Stanford shopping mall, this restaurant specializes in everything fresh, with an Asian twist. With green being its main decor color, plus the bright yellow colored chairs, and a huge open kitchen, this place was fun to be in. Everything we ordered were quite delicious! The Edamame ravioli was very interesting and tasty. The fish tacos were refreshing and the chicken wrap was filling. Service was great also. Price, though, was a bit on the high end!
