Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Lakeland

My husband and I got food poisoning after drinking the mocha madness smoothie. They either put way too much caffeine or way too much sugar. Not fun pooping water every 5 minutes -.-

Nice, little, cozy place. The employees are very courteous and helpful. Tried the chicken bacon ranch flatbread and it was very good. Had I dined in, chances are I wouldve ordered another one. Will visit again.

I was going to bring my daughter for a smoothie yesterday, but gender neutral bathrooms just dont make sense for us. Can you imagine my 3 year old sharing a bathroom with a grown man? I cant and I wont, sorry.

I was already a big fan of Tropical Smoothie, but this location has the best staff!

Gotta say I’ve been very disappointed the last few times I’ve been to this location, probably won’t be coming back. Shame too because I really enjoy the food and smoothies but its expensive so the following is unacceptable… Worst of all it’s very dirty inside, staff are either not trained well or don’t want to be there, not using gloves and touching everything before making my sandwich, my simple order from the menu with no substitutions is always wrong, staff also forgets items that I ordered, the inside is very cramped, and with a slow-staff this leads to a build-up of people standing around everywhere - meaning if you choose sit at a table you have people standing next to you watching you eat while they wait on their order. The delivery drivers also have no option but to hand-truck supplies right through the crowded dining area. I can think of 20 other better places to eat than here, especially at this price point.

The drinks were so water down no flavor and no type of sugar I tried my best to enjoy it it was a inconvenience to even get into a parking space then I had to deal with squeezing out to taste the drinks and them to be watered down 👎

No one acknowledge you when you come in. Thank goodness I ordered online. Phone orders took precedent over those that walked in. The last think the staff wanted to do is talk to you.

If you want service with a smile this ain’t the place! You’re greeted by a rude woman at the counter the phone is constantly ringing….no one picks up! I called three times to pre order. It’s awesome to watch the girl at the counter play on her phone!

It was packed when I came in for a late lunch and the service was still fast.

Not the cleanest dining room. But my peanut butter smoothie was really good!

Ordered 4 smoothies and not one was made like it was suppose to. Called and was told they would remake them for me. The 4 remakes were spot on. But upon checking my bank i was charged twice. Once for the order and again because they didnt make them right??? Need my 27 bucks back!

You guys owe me a sandwich. These people made a 8$ sandwich with no chicken on it.

This tropical smoothie location is always extremely horrible. The staff never know what they are even doing, none of them get near enough training and they get paid little to nothing to work there. The wait time gets close to an hour for an online order. Honestly, I don’t even blame the workers. It’s the franchise owner who’s the problem. Watched a girl last week text on her phone with her gloves and then roll up a sandwich with the same gloves. Who knows how clean this place even is. I’ll wait for my copy and paste response from the owner telling me to file a claim on the tropical smoothie website lol. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I ordered a wrap, salad, and chips, I received two wraps and some nasty potatoes.And when I called to let them know I was not even offered so much as an apology.. horrible customer service never have to worry about me again

The staff was not professional at all they used bad language out loud… They didn’t acknowledge me when I entered the restaurant… I had to ask them may I place an order…they did not know how to work the rewards scanner… they told me to use the receipt to claim my rewards… the whole experience was very disappointing

I come here frequently and love the food but the experience is rarely a good one. Each time I visit there seems to be confusion between staff and it seems slow and unorganized. My last trip on April 13th, I placed a pick-up order online at 1:45 to be ready by 2:00. My order was not ready until 2:26. Why have the option for a pick-up order if the order isn’t started until after the customer arrives??

I have been to several T.S. in Florida this has got to be the the worst as far as being clean.Some of the staff look like they just got out of bed. The store is so nasty l turned around and left. Very disappo ited.The owners need to get in there and do a good cleaning.

Unfortunately the worst Tropical smoothie I’ve been too, place did not smell clean, employees did not look clean, kitchen looked a mess, smoothie took 20 minutes and it tasted awful, employee came out cursing and management looked more serious about looking outside rather than what was going on the kitchen. Never would go back to this place. Needs restructuring

We are going to this location all times, but recently the online orders are taking too long, when we got there the meals are not ready and they prepare the walking orders first. As we were waiting saw customer walking placed an order and left while we still waiting. The floor is really dirty!! What’s going on???

The smoothie was good. I had to wait a long time. Others were getting their orders while I stood there waiting. Finally they noticed I had been standing their waiting and they said Mom wrap was in the oven. Someone had ordered the same wrap I had and they had gotten theirs and left.

I have to change my five star to a three-star because the last two times I went in here to pick up my smoothie its been nasty. Going in the one entrance you slide from the grease and the floor, which I dont know how thats possible because they dont fry anything. Everything is filthy from the counters, to the floors walls. This will be the last time I come in until its inspected. I dont know what kind of jabronis you have running this place but you need to fire them or send them to cleaning School. I will be posting pictures.

The only thing I like is the older lady vthat they been there about 20 some years. Other then that it is straight KIDS working in there. They talk loud & obnoxious and you can hear everything they say. The smoothies are good but the kids need to work on cooking flat bread. My chicken with flat bread was hard and cold and it was 830 in the morning!!

My Mother made an Order over the phone (which I dont recommend that anyone should anymorefor her lunch break for pick up.She asked them if they received her order because it wasnt ready upon arrival (15 mins to arrive), nobody checked. They just kept telling her to wait without checking. She told them numerous times it was by phone. Once they were done servicing everyone else that walked in an orders she was ignored yet again for 20 mins.The gentleman behind the counter was very impolite. The Manager who witnessed it didnt show anything type of genuine empathy for her situation she basically mocked her when she explained why she was dissatisfied. She left with no food and no bevill never give them my money since they think its ok to be disrespectful to their customers and offer no Resolution for the inconvenience.

Upon entry I saw the manager was picking her nose. I watched in disbelief as she went to help an employee without ever washing her hands. Needless to say I left not being in the mood for a boogie smoothie. The staff should clean this place with gas and a match.

This place has the best smoothies & the best staff! The day crew remembers my name & makes me feel like Im coming home for lunch. Two new employees are full of energy and have a great attention to detail while making you feel like family as well. Thank you Jaylen & Eugene! Youre the best additions to this team!

When I came here for lunch the boy taking my order was very rude. He did not make me feel valued as a customer. As I was trying to decide what to order (with no line behind mehe made comments to his coworkers that I needed to make up my mind insinuating that I was being too slow or inconvenient for him. I did not get his name, but he wears glasses. This experience was unfortunate as I love coming here, but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Jayden was fantastic during the Christmas parade. People everywhere, swarming the counter but she handled it with ease and we got our drinks fast. We were very impressed with the entire experience!

I ordered online and sat waiting past the time my food was supposed to be ready. people who ordered in store got their food before me and i had to go up and ask them for my food. my smoothie was liquid, as it had been sitting there and my food was cold. the whole point of ordering online is to show up and have the food ready. very disappointed.

Flatbreads were great. Smoothies had so much ice we couldn’t taste any ingredients. Waaay too much ice. Been goin to TS for awhile and this wasnt anywhere close to great

Honestly its just took entirely too long for the amount of people that was working they definitely need more machines for smoothie making customer service was good people were polite ...they just need more machines

The worst service ever. They are three people in the back Laughing and cutting up. One girl had an ear pod in. They are laughing out loud and acting like no one is waiting too maker an order. A girl walked in and to the back, made lunch for herself and left and Im still waiting l. Keep in mind there is only myself and one other guy waiting to order. One girl walked to the front, took a phone call and went to the back. She is literally doing nothing. Still waiting. Ok. 10 min after walking in finely service.

It was terrible. I ordered a Baja bowl and a mango smoothie. Smoothie was great . The bowl was god awful. The rice was cold and clumpy the chicken was as stiff as a corpse. The lettuce was old and wilted . Never AGAIN.

My favorite little smoothie shop in the south. Not sure if this is a chain or a local spot but it is definitely not in the North! They have one size of smoothie and it is the 💣 Many combinations to choose from but The sunrise sunset and the green smoothie are our favorites.They offer wraps,salads and sandwiches all of which are tasty. The outdoor seating is relaxing as well.So if you are driving through Lakeland I would highly recommend 👌

This was the first time Ive ever been to Tropical Smoothie. I didnt know anything about the menu items so I had no clue what I wanted. The cashier was polite and very helpful. She was able to explain to me about the smoothies I asked her about. Therefore it was easier for me to make a decision on my order. She knew about the food she was helping sale and thats always a big plus for any type of restaurant. They seem to stay steadily busy and often packed from what Ive heard. Its been said that when busy they run with smooth efficiency. I would highly recommend Tropical Smoothie to others if they wanted something sweet but still healthy. Plus they have wraps, flatbread and bowls. I had a toasted chicken bacon ranch flatbread and it was very good and the smoothie was the best Ive had. They have different flavors for anyones taste buds. Check them out if you are downtown in Lakeland.

Love their smoothies but with 6 people in the back waiting for over 5 minutes you would think someone would take an order.... no .... still waited until I left apparently they don’t need the business 😒 I will say the morning crew is on point and always have my order. The afternoon crew......not so much this is the 2nd time when I had to wait forever and no one even took my order. 🙄

I just love Tropical Smoothie, they are so much more than just a smoothie shop. Their food is actually so good too, I am especially a fan of the flatbreads and quesadillas. Plus, it’s not just junk food, you’re actually helping your body out by eating here! I really like this location too because there is an adorable outdoor patio where you can hang out and relax. The workers have always been nice in my experience, sometimes they are a bit loud and obnoxious in the back, but it’s mostly a bunch of younger kids so that’s almost expected. Overall, Tropical Smoothie is one of my favorite places to eat. There are truly no bad options here, in my opinion.

I used to go here last year and everything was pretty average. However, the last two times Ive visited have been horrible. All the staff are constantly yelling throughout the kitchen. I arrived and wasnt greeted for 5 minutes. I walked up to the front where I was asked what to order and I told them that I was waiting for my online order. They then walked away saying "theyve already been helped!" and a worker and him laughed about it.Next time someone came up, I asked if my order was ready. They just asked what it was and then told me that they didnt have what I wanted. I asked why they didnt call to tell me, etc.Worst experience yet and will never return. All the workers are immature and dont know what theyre doing. Any corporate seeing this review, I highly recommend watching the cameras at this location because Im sure youd be surprised.

Smoothies are fine, being pregnant in this time and going to a restaurant that offers curbside specifically because it offers curbside only to have the employees ignore the phone and the multiple cars in the curbside spots is highly disappointing. We waited 20 mins before finally going inside to get our order after watching several other cars in curbside give up and do the same. I’m sure the owner doesn’t know the employees are doing this. Get it together.

Food and smoothies are always good. Be aware the "curbside" has room for improvement. Answering the phone number on the sign in the picture would be a start. Thanks.

Love the smoothies. The daytime crew is on point. Always had a good experience. Order ahead the food is sitting in the baskets out front waiting. Order at night be prepared for a mess. Food always in the back. This time they had to redo my smoothies cuz they couldnt find them.

This is the only location I come to in Lakeland, the north location is a joke so I no longer bother even though I live there.Back to the point of the review, each time I come in here the crew is friendly and quick. I love the chia banana boost shake, but recently switched only because of the calorie amount. No problem I tell them no sugar and it helped but I switched to the blueberry smoothie which is half the calories.Point being if the customer service wasnt or isnt good Im not spending my hard earn money there. I dont really eat their food so sorry not much of a review about that but I have had multiple smoothies and they are consistent and the best part is you can ask for no sugar and you are accommodated!!

Service is the best in the area. I will drive the extra distance to go to this Tropical Cafe over any other. Orders are ready almost immediately. Staff is super friendly, they will get to know u by name and greet u with a smile and almost have ur order in hand. Clean restaurant and food is always amazing!

I love their smoothies. I think you get better service if youre a regular, or know the staff because I wasnt the last person to place an order but was the last to leave. Regardless of that, Im a repeat customer and will be back. They did apologize for the wait for my smoothie when it was ready.

Im only giving them four stars because this location kind of stinks. I really dont like where its at. Getting in and out of stuff and I wish they were closer to the heart of downtown. Putting that aside... I love their smoothies I love their menu. I think theyre super creative with what theyre serving. They trying to stay seasonal and relevant. Two thumbs up for this franchise

Amazing smoothies and healthy good options at good prices. They always have friendly attentive staff and are nice and clean every time we visit. Coupons are readily available friendly which is an added bonus and makes us be able to dine in more frequently.

Excellent smoothies with great service. My husband and I go at least once a week. No matter how busy they are were greeted and our order is always ready fast.Ive been to some other locations that are less pleasing. This one is by far the best.
