Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Bay City

I love tropical smoothie and usually love every store. This location just hires the most unpleasant people. No customer service skills at all. Foods still good tho.

Kind of my go to place when Im at drill. The mango magic is one of my favorite drinks and the chipotle chicken is slaps.

Some of the laziest work Ive seen from one of these branches. Cant get orders right, and sometimes doesnt even make the right menu item. Hire new staff.

They didn’t cut my quesadilla… I’m not sure why?? Not to mention, I’m out and about, not around any knives or anything to cut it. So weird. Food took forever as well, so not sure why it couldn’t have been cut right after being made.And where’s the salsa?Also, a female employee came up front by the registers and sat down on one of the counters, was on her phone in front of customers, and just didn’t seem to care that much. Not cool

I’ve been getting smoothies from this locations for years. Generally multiple times a week and I have never had a bad experience. Until today, which I’m attaching the picture. I know that it’s fruit and ice so there can be times it has some chunks that didn’t blend completely, but this is just ridiculous! I bought the nasty edible straw for the first time today because I didn’t have time to run out and had it delivered and it was a $12 min. I could not even use the straw as this smoothie is no where near blended. Why would anyone think it’s okay to serve this to a paying customer? When your paying $8 for one smoothie you’d like to be able to drink it! It doesn’t even look appetizing what do ever. I’m very disappointed

After getting a free smoothy for thr past 2 years for my birthday and then to find out this location doesnt do that anymore is just wrong. Totally expected something and to be surprised this way it sucks

Great Service, great location, great everything! However....I couldnt give full ☆s because, our smoothies were not as smooth as they could have been! There was still Ice chunks too big to drink with the straw. New Blenders maybe?! But well be back...we love this place.

My go to drink is the detox island green. I love it. I get the energizer and fat burner add ins. This time, my husband asked for one. I think I made him a fan too. Thank you so much to the young lady that took my order. Very sweet lady!

This place is awful. Wraps are always terribly made. Its unfortunate but I dont think managment cares about these employees or restaurant. If anythings a indication to how poorly managed this place is - they even refuse to fix the door thats been broken for 2+ years now. Pure expensive trash. Save the link, just try doing your job.

Came in and workers looked right at me and didnt say anything or acknowledge me for ay least 10 min. Not even busy.

They have really good peanut butter cup smoothies definitely would recommend this place

I love tropical smoothie! I wish I could give a full 5 stars but every time I walk in there (which has been everyday latelythere is 1 employee busting their behind to serve a packed store while 3 or 4 other girls are in the back, clearly NOT helping. We witnessed a poor kid get so flustered tonight because it was packed busy and he was the only one present until he went back and got the rest of the employees…I would highly recommend a manager of some sort or older adult, training or working with these employees. Clearly.

On Friday we went to this location of Tropical smoothie around 6pm, maybe 6:30. My husband used the app to order 4 smoothies and I came inside to pick them up.What did I find (besides delightful smoothies)?I saw a very clean bathroom.I saw a dedicated crew cleaning every inch of a store that looked as though it had been quite busy earlier.I saw numerous employees working together to get their jobs done.It was an excellent experience to find such dedicated employees and such teamwork.Thanks very much!!

Shame on your management and workers if I read what is true, and I dont doubt a word she said. Your store hired an Autistic person, and because he/she messed up they were ridiculed in front of customers by co workers and the manager. The post went out and shared with many. SHAME ON YOU

Awful. Will never go back their again. They don’t treat customers with respect and they hit their vapes 24/7 also I found a lot of hair strings in my smoothing that’s disgusting the place is ran by kids who don’t know what their doing and their boss doesn’t know how to talk to customers without a attitude.

Smoothies come out fine but similar too other locations very inconsistent on the food they send out. One day my south west wrap is packed with spinach like its a salad next time Im drinking the sauce like they dumped a whole bottle on it . Everyone is nice and I get my order pretty quick so thats a plus

With a short lunch. I like being able to place my order online and then go pick it up. Love the smooth and tried food for the 1st time. The hummus salad was delicious 😋

Awful. Store was dirty and customer service was rude. I ordered a quesadilla and the cheese was not melted at all. Also wasnt given salsa like at other locations. Would not recommend to anyone.

Watched one of the staff drop a knife on the floor then picked it up and used it to cut a sandwich. She tried to say it was a different knife, but either way it was placed back on the counter for use instead of in the sink. Wont eat food there again. The bathrooms have been very messy the last couple times Ive been in there too but could let that go, but not the knife issue.

Worst tropical smoothie the tri cities. Staff is friendly but their smoothies taste nothing like any other tropical smoothie both of ours were incredibly bland and watery.

I would not even give them one star at this point I have been coming to this store for years and it has just got worse and worse today I was there when I got there it was a store full of people everyone looked upset people said they had been waiting for 20 minutes I should have just turned around and walked out After I sat there for about 15 to 20 minutes people started to get orders who came in after me when I asked not one order but 2 orders and then 3 orders went out every time I ask all the employees had a terrible attitude they could not have been more ignorant when I asked for a refund someone finally went outside and got the manager who they said was not on break she was standing out there because there was just a car accident but I did not see an accident anywhere She then said she would give me a free smoothie Which is not what I wanted at that point I just wanted a refund. I understand it gets tough sometimes but there was absolutely no reason for their attitude and I will never go back to that store I live 2 minutes away and would rather drive to the one on Bay rd.

Latest Obsession... Passion Point Fruit Smoothie (Pineapple/Banana/Strawberry), oh so good! Oh,, and the Baja Chicken Wrap is so tasty and delicious, get you one today. (P.s. dont let anyone talk you into "sharing" your smoothie, you wont get it back.

FIRST TIME IN TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE.Had a great 👍 Smootie and also tried Buffalo Chicken wrap and that was delicious.Also the Service was Excellent. YES WOULD GO BACK.

Went to this place for dinner on Wednesday, May 12th at around 9:15. The younger girl with dark hair was very rude. Idk her name. But i hope it was just a bad moment and not a daily for her.

I was going everyday for a couple months. I started going for the highest calorie smoothie, chia banna, to help with weight gain but they no longer roast the banna because it goes bad fast...I guess i dont understand the point of having that smoothie as an option if you dont want to make it with the ingredients it was intended to be made with. Im not a fan of smoothies but because this one taste roasted I loved it. They are too expensive to not get the correct drink. I also dont know how they were going bad that fast when I ordered it every day.

Watched them not start working for a solid 2 minutes then handed out 3 smoothies that were order after me... can you hire people that actually work?

The staff is very friendly and the smoothies are made quick. Always delicious no matter what I get! Good job Bay City Tropical Smoothie

The smoothies are really great and i have a tip try getting the ciabatta bread plain and dipping it in the smoothies its pretty good in the jetta one or whatever it’s called

I received two smoothies that were not what I ordered. I get mistakes happen. I also notice at a lot of the tropical smoothies the staff is younger, which doesnt mean theyre incapable of making orders correct. I just notice a lot of immature behavior at times, which can lead to mistakes.

Love the food and smoothies and always have, but was there today and was shocked to see they are not requiring people to wear masks. Employees are wearing them, but the ordering area was full of people not wearing masks waiting to pick up or order food. Will not return to this location until masks are required by customers. Not even signage in the four requesting masks be worn. Bummed as this is a go to spot for us. Hopeful you will change your policy on this ASAP.

There was a man with medium length blonde hair without his work uniform on at this tropical smoothie. He was wearing a shirt that said “back the blue” shortly after the George Floyd incident. If I could give this store zero stars, I would.

So far havent had a smoothie I didnt like. Cant decide on my favorite tho. Awesome staff in bay city location. Always friendly. 🙂

These youngins definitely need customer service training! Rude and unfriendly. Refused to make my food and smoothie a combo even though literally every tropical smoothie Ive been to has done it no problems. 👎

The smoothies are good.The young staff members could use some customer service training and the restaurant is not as clean as other locations.Keep the music in the back down, its not everyones taste.

This location has fantastic customer service from the manager. I had an issue with a flat bread and he contacted me the same day and made it right. The flatbreads are delicious and the smoothies are fantastic. Hoping they keep the quality up as this last time they switched their chips to tropical smoothie brand which at least for salt and vinegar are not as good. And the bags are smaller. Hope they go back to miss Vickies. A much superior chip.

I had never been to a Tropical Smoothie before. The variety isnt huge, but I think that thats what makes it amazing so that they can put everything in to making the best products. My Thai Chicken wrap was scrumptious, and blueberry smoothie was perfect! Definitely will be telling friends and family about this place!

My visit is always good at tropical smoothie. The prices are not too bad. The deals they text you are for classic smoothies which I do not purchase instead I prefer my smoothies from the super food menu. They also have supplements you can add to your smoothie for 1.00 and you can decide if you do not want sugar added.

Smoothies were very good. A little chunky with fruit but overall a good place to take a date.

The Thai chicken wrap was super delicious. there imune smoothie was the best. But the Caribbean jerk wrap was a little spicy. Suvis was good. Great atmosphere. And the people were so friendly. For the amount we spent it was worth it.

We always love coming here for smoothies, but once in a while we will get a breakfast burrito too.. very yummy and fresh. However, the last few times we have stopped in here they were out of avocado - which is necessary for our favorite smoothies. Other than that, we have always had great experiences here.

The manager there named Nick really took care of the kids and I!! I have two children aged 8 and 9. They have always been very avid fans of Tropical Smoothie, and this trip was nothing short of excellent. Although they were really busy, this Nicholas worker went out-of-the-way and asked my daughter how school was, seeing she had her backpack and we were coming from school. He made me feel welcome, and well taken care of! Definitely recommend this Tropical smoothie site.

Another bad experience. My husband went in and was reading the board when a mother and her daughter came in. The young man took their order and proceeded to the back to make it. After he brought it up to them they left. He instead of saying Ill be right with you grabbed 2 boxes of lays chips and headed to the back.My husband then waited again after being ignored. He finally notioned to the young woman in back that he was still waiting.The girl asked the worker if he took the guys order up front where he answered not yet. He finally came up to get the order. The smoothie request was modified which wasnt made the way we asked. Usually they write the mods on the cup to verify but by taste I know its inaccurate.I have just begun to enjoy Tropical Smoothie, but we keep getting poor service!

Love Tropical Smoothie Cafe! The food is good, but overpriced (in my opinion). The smoothies are always great, & theyre basically a meal - theyre huge! Ive been visiting regularly for years & see myself continuing to do just that.

By far my favorite Tropical Smoothie! Everyone is friendly and willing to offer suggestions to help you find what you are looking for. Also, they are much faster than other locations in the area and I have never had a complaint about their food or smoothies.

A few days ago we went and my grandmother ordered blueberry bliss and it didnt have any taste. And today we there and we ordered sunrise sunset or whatever it is and asked for no mangos and they put mango in it and it tasted like they put " half raspberry and half tea" by Brisk. I would not recommend this tropical smoothie cafe. But i would recommend the one on Bay Road in Saginaw.
