Tropical Palm Restaurant - American restaurant in Crestview, United States
Live this hidden gem. So glad I stumbled upon you
Driving back to Kentucky after a week in Fort Walton Beach, I did a google search for breakfast restaurants on our way to I-65..This place is a definite gem. Wonderful southern cooking. Everything was delicious. My wife really enjoyed her soft scrambled eggs with a side of ham. My french toast with melted butter and powered sugar was divine. Also had two eggs sunny side up, bacon and an order of grits. All were very tasty. Highly recommend for breakfast if youre just passing thru.
First time visiting this restaurant in Crestview, FL. The food was fantastic and service was great. I ordered the "Everything but the Kitchen Sink " omelette and like the name would apply, it was huge. The hash browns were perfect as I upgraded them to their Billy style. I see this becoming a regular destination
Great service with solid and tasty breakfast options made and served quickly.
Step away from the chain restaurants and visit this family owned dinner. A patriotic, quaint little spot that appears to be a local favorite. Every breakfast item we had was a win. We will stop here any time we are in Crestview for breakfast. All selections are reasonably priced.
Changed the inside around since my last visit... but it was still good 👍
Great service, out of this world food! The restaurant is always neat and tidy. The bathroom is clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and there is a great family atmosphere! If you want a slice of " Old time Crestview" served with your meal and a great big smile head to "The Palm!"
Great staff and good country food
Family friendly restaurant, great people, excellent service. A solid simple breakfast prepared your way. Breakfast cooked correctly, grits spot on, good biscuits and excellent tomato gravy.A great start for are day!
Great food, great service and friendly staff. Love it. Go get some!
Harty good food and it tastes like grandmas home cooking
Good ol country cooking!!! We love the pancakes and the fried pork chops! The kids pancake was shaped like a Mickey head.
Really really good food. People are super nice and friendly.
I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast. Everything tasted good and the service was great. Planning on going back this week.
Always my favorire place for breakfast, they will fix it just the way you want it. Regular home cooking, not photo-op food with funny things sticking out of it.
Great place to sit and eat, had their breakfast sooo goodDefinitely will be back when Im visiting again!!
Great home style breakfast! I loved the Everything but the kitchen sink omelette and the kids loved the cinnamon roll pancakes
Love there food here and a lot of other people most think the same thing because this restaurant has been around for years and I dont think its going to be going anywhere anytime soon. People come here and meet friends and sit down and talk and enjoy each other, some have been coming here for years everyday to eat and others are just now trying it for the first time. It feels like your at home. And everything the have Is so good and it is in your price range.
Excellent omelet and excellent service!!
Good breakfasts and very nice people, but service time has a lot left to be desired. Never got to try their lunches before they stopped serving that meal.
Love to eat breakfast here. The cook Holly cooks my pork chops just the way I like em. The service is always friendly and the prices are affordable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Pretty good. I love their breakfast. Its waffle house hashbrowns without the horrible atmosphere, all I could ask. Lunch, is okay. Havent found my stride there yet, and sometimes I feel I paid for more than I got (fried shrimp, example). Some servers arent very chipper or attentive but Ive never had anyone do anything blatantly wrong.
awesome home cooked food, makes you feel more like you went to your grandmothers house than to a downtown cafe. Nice folks who provide just the right amount of friendly service, lots of smiles and ambiance to go around. Definitely recommended
Waitresses were very kind and answered all my questions to satisfaction.Breakfast was delicious and seats were clean, also comfortable.I highly recommend for breakfast.#notsponsored
Great food came by for the tomato gravy and biscuits Last time in was 2000 the place has really changed service was excellent. First moved to area in 93 opened supercenter and eating lunch here
The tomato gravy that was served to me, was not correctly made tomato gravy. The Flores were an inch thick in sand. We wont be back.
Let me start by saying the first time me and my wife ate here everything was fine, the young lady who took our order was polite, and the food was great. No complaints!Heres our problem when we stopped in for lunch today... Apologies if it seems long.We sat near the kitchen and the restaurant was pretty quiet. Our server today was a younger man probably mid 20s.Apparently there was a mistake when he took my order, as we heard some grumbling in the back. We heard him say: "It was the Chinese guys fault, I didnt understand him." The older waitress heard him too, and she immediately shushed him as we were sitting near the kitchen listening. I got up to leave, my wife payed for her drink. The older waitress who heard all this just replied: "Dont worry about paying for that drink."That was it, no apologies or anything of the sort. Some background on myself, Im ethnically Korean and born in the states. Active duty Military with 18 years in, and I dont speak any other language besides English. We moved to Crestview a year ago, and havent experienced anything like this, until today. This was extremely disappointing, as we thought this was a nice family restaurant with good Christian values that we could come back to.
Had a BIG, tasty breakfast. Everything was really good. People were very friendly. Very economical. Well worth the stop.
Worthwhile little dining spot. Food was fresh and cooked well, worth the wait it took to bring it. All sorts of yumminess were on the menu- Tomato Gravy, Blueberry French Toast, omelets galore, pies and fresh fruit crumbles, Cajun Shrimp and Grits, and more! Staff was kind, service was energetic and personal, even the patrons were enjoying themselves. Tropical Palm is definitely a place to visit frequently!
Todays visit doesnt even require 1 star. The food ordered was cold, undercooked, and soggy. The chicken my husband ordered was undercooked, as well as the chicken in my salad. The sides were cold and definitely not what we were use to with the previous workers. Definitely this restaurant has down graded quality service. The kitchen workers were cussing so loud the front could hear the language. Very unprofessinal. We sure do miss the other staff and quality of food. Been coming here for years. Will be scratching this restaurant off the list.
My daughter and I love the family atmosphere that they promote and encourage here. Breakfast tasted as if it had been homemade! I strongly recommend this family restaurant!!
Relaxed home town feel! Breakfast was filling and the food was cooked to perfection (gravy had the right kick to it). Waitress was attentive and made sure the experience was pleasant!
Awesome small town feel resteraunt. Sausage gravy and biscuits were delicious. Friendly and quick service at a great price.
This was a gem of a find. A nice little mom/pop cafe with a wonderful selection for breakfast including biscuits with tomato gravy!
The food here was incredibly good. The menu has many choices. Its great to find a place in Crestview that serves schnitzel. We went for breakfast and we all had the Mama Orenes breakfast. I had the pancakes, my daughter had the birthday pancakes, and my wife had the french toast. The portions are large and everything was cooked to perfection. Everything was very affordable. It was s great experience.
This is a dining pleasure! The service is great, the food is wonderful and the value is spot on. Come here for a Southern local small town eating experience that is so hard to find in today’s chain restaurant plastic food world.
Absolutely delicious, the waitresses were so nice! Nice and peaceful. Had an amazing time there, would definetly recommend them over Cracker Barrel or Waffel House!
Ordered online 12/ at 12:45pm. Online said they are open. Sign on door says open Saturday till 2pm. Get there to pick up my food at 1pm. Place is locked up tight. No sign no nothing saying theyre closed. This is UNACCAEPTABLE!!!! I love their food but this has soured me.
This is not a fast-food kind’ve place where you might think you’re gonna get your food and drive away in three minutes.Plan to enjoy the ambiance and setting of the ole hometown feeling! You’re gonna love the servers, they are some real hustlers, and they don’t mess around when it comes to getting your food.Oh, did I tell you that the food is great too. I’ve been coming here since I was employed at the old Post Office here in town...and that was over 40 years ago. The food was great back then, and it’s just as good today. You won’t be disappointed, or leave here still hungry!
I eat here regularly! This is a family friendly, very comfortable setting, where if you come here more than twice, they remember what you drink. Lots of regulars, country style cooking, and they accommodate every request possible. Very fun atmosphere!
This was my go-to place for great food; however, they have changed hands. They redone the inside (which looks greatBUT. The food today took forever to come out of the kitchen, when it did, it was cold. I had to send my back because it was cold. All they did was warm it up in the microwave. I will give them another chance, but it may be a while before I come back.
My family and I moved to Crestview a little over a year ago and we like to try different local places. My wife and I decided to try this place yesterday (7/23/2020). I ordered the Thursday lunch special of chicken n dumplings. It was by far the worst restaurant chicken n dumplings I’ve ever had. The dumplings tasted bland and the chicken wasn’t deboned. Major choking hazard. The Mac n cheese tasted like powder cheese. The cornbread was the only part of the meal that was decent.
Hubby and I were visiting the area and stopped here. The breakfast was outstanding. The pancakes were awesome, the hashbrowns made Billy style great and the waitstaff was wonderful. Will definitely go again ❤️
We tried their food today for the first time. The food, in my opinion, was not good. The shrimp were "OK" , but the cole slaw was yuck! My daughter got Chicken Alfredo...the sauce didnt taste anything like alfredo, more like garlic sauce and the sauce had separated. Alfredo sauce is the easiest thing to make! Gator Taters were OK...not hard to fry a spiral potatoes. I need to show their cook HOW TO COOK! Period
Maybe we came on a bad day. Tues. At 11;30. We both ordered fried chicken an were informed it would take 17 min. To fry the chicken which was fine. It took 40 min before we were served. We were terribly disappointed when the chicken was fried in very old oil and was way too overdone. Dry and tough. The white gravy, which I ordered on the side, tasted like thick flour with water. Mashed potatoes had an odd taste. Our first time there and we will not be back.
The food is so yummy and amazing. There is such a variety that there is something for everyone. The staff that work there are great. They treat you like family. This is a great place to come enjoy breakfast or lunch.
Great old fashion restaurant. Great staff and food. This restaurant has been in business for many years. It is run by local ladies and they treat you like your somebody. Great place to just go back in time and have an old fashion meal.
Fantastic dining here at the old Tropical Palm. Friendly people and good eats. What more could you ask for.
This is a fantastic little restaurant, fast service, clean, friendly helpful staff, food is great comfort county cooking. Everything was cooked perfect. Really enjoyed my meal. Easy access, quiet and i felt at home here, i will definitely come back. Only drawback was they dont make any deserts, to bad i was hoping for a cobbler to end the meal with.
Very fresh food, hot tea/coffee and plentiful plating with 2 veggies for a really nice daily special!. Loved the dumpling noodles, chicken hot, fresh and delicious. Fresh rolls with butter also comes with the meal too.The restaurant is basic in design, but down home cooking is what it does best.
