Place which is depicts about the Tribals in and around Jharkhand state. The kinds of occupation, tools, food, every detail is been depicted by the tableau models. One who is keen to know more about the diverse culture of the state, then this is the place.Ideally supposed to be a tourist place, but hardly saw more than 5. And the government should also work on promoting such places inorder to attract tourists.
An unique museum. The amazing tribal art is displayed in such a unique way that unless you visit the place, you cannot fathom the uniqueness of the place. For photography, a minimal fees is being charged. It advisable that you pay for reach mobile or camera that you want to click pictures with
The best museum I have ever likedPainting were beautifully decoratedEverything was beautifully designed
Nice little museum showcasing the diversity and unique culture of the indigenous people of Jharkhand. The replicas are well done and the information provided for each of the tribal communities are clear and precise - Districts, Occupation, Population, Language. Other state govt departments like Tribal Welfare dept. office is housed in the same complex. No entry fees is charged.
On Monday it was closed so I didnt see anything 😔
Tribal museum is awesomeI am so happy when I visiting this place
This museum showcases all the tribes of Jharkhand. They have scale models in glass boxes showing the tribal people in their habitat. There is not much to see, but you can go there if you want to do some study on the tribals. The two storey structure has some nice architecture though.
Historical place that shows the rich heritage of Jharkhand tribals, their cultural practices and lives. It is also a good place for photography lovers. This Tribal museum is recognised all over the country for its art and crafting presentation. If you have interest in history and tribal life then must visit this place once.
Tribal Museum is a rich tapestry of exhaustive exhibits showcasing the tribal art and culture. It highlights various aspects of the tribes in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. The artistic displays are mesmerising as it creates awareness about the tribal rituals, customs, forms of worship and so on.Former President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the museum of Tribal Heritage on June 6, 2013. It was created and dedicated to the tribal people of Madhya Pradesh. The vast gallery showcases the way of life of seven significant tribes of Madhya Pradesh - The Bheel, Gond, Korku, Baiga, Sahariya, Bhariya and Kol. Spread across 7 acres of land, Tribal Museum also holds an auditorium, a small boutique shop of artefacts and a restaurant. It stands out from the rest of museums in the country because of the way the exhibits are canvassed. Although the artworks are difficult to decipher, it beautifully depicts the tales of tribes. The museum occasionally organises activities based on the cultural forms such as talk show, poetry, vocal play, film and dance. With over 30% of the tribal population, this rich repository of traditional artwork and aesthetics is commissioned by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Tribal heritage of jharkhand is beautifully displayed here. Very fine crafting. Tribe, their origin, language and work everything is mentioned. Artwork is displayed too. It’s average 1 hour visit place depending upon your interest in tribal culture.
Nice Tribal museum ,,where collection of Jharkhand state tribes introduction, their daily life style are displayed.Everyone must visit who want to know about existing tribes of Jharkhand..

Good place to get information about tribes of jharkhand...
Not so much to see but still if you want to know about the Jharkhand tribe you can visit this place..Although photography isnt allowed.
Tribal museum is situated in Morabadi, Ranchi near Tribal Welfare and Development Board. The museum remains closed on Sundays and on government holidays like Shivratri or christmas. But it is nowhere written. So do not go on government holidays. They do not allow you to take pictures inside.(only god knows what secret they are guarding). Even state museum and science center let you take pics inside the building.Apart from that the behaviour of some of the staffs is very rude. No wonder it is a tribal museum. They do not know how to interact with visitors. They should get a lesson first on how to behave in a civilized world. There is also a Chartered Cycle Station Dock in front of the museum. It is a good thing. You can scan the code on the cycle and pay for the membership fee(ignore if you are already a memberand get to ride the eco cycle. For 30 mins it is free.My suggestion is to go to state museum in khelgaon. There is a separate gallery for tribes in Jharkhand. You can get all the details about tribes there. You can also take pictures there. The staffs are polite too.
Nice place to visit and learn about different tribes of Jharkhand
Great place to know the tribal culture of Jharkhand. Models are lifelike and superbly detailed. Must visit place. Only drawback is that its relatively small and congested
Simply shows the trible culture and different types of tribes found in jharkhand. Entrance is free of cost and no photo is allowed inside museum. Better u can carry notebook and pen to write the required things if u are interested. It is just 300meter from karamtoli chowk. People should must visit once. Beautiful place.
Well informative but brief Museum on tribes of Jharkhand region. All total 32 tribes are displayed here. Well maintained and no entry fee, located at convenient place in Morabadi, Ranchi.
Good place to know the tribals of jharkhand. Here you can find information about their different aspects of livelihood.their art, culture, where they are found, government takes advice from research scholar of the institute about inclusion or exclusiin of their tribe.
4 stars for interesting starting points into the lives of many tribal groups in Jharkhand. 1 star missing for lack of details and poor lighting. Worth a visit for sure. Not worthy of any more than 45 minutes of your time.
Its a place where we can know our origin and development and the most valuable thing that I liked was the courtesy and warm heart of their tour guide. They took no money and said just give us a review. But hope you know that photo shooting is not allowed
Nice place, with idols of different classes of tribal people around Bihar Jharkhand and Bengal along with their geographic distribution The most common being santhal, munda, orao, etc. some commonly used daily instruments , musical instruments, tribal ornaments. chart of different medicinal plants and their medicinal uses. Collection of books on tribal people. Place of must visit of Ranchi.
The attempt of the government to educate people about the tribals is commendable but the place lacks maintenance. Shelves are open and have thus led to stealing of artefacts on display. Many items are without any proper description.
Must visit place if you want to know about tribal culture of jharkhand. Well maintained youll definitely love the place
Very nice place for learning the tribal history of Jharkhand. There are murals depicting the various tribes, their population, their local languages and occupation. It is near the Tagore hill about one km from jail more. Do visit this museum if you are interested in history and culture. It is free of cost and will take about an hour to see it completely.
This museum is very awesome , the art is beautifully done. When I entered into this museum , I was amzed. I coulxnt resist my eyes to miss any corner of it. This place is much worth of time. If you visit this wonderful museum , to understand the vast culture, lifestyle of tribal communities.
Its not very well known so you need to search for it specifically. Not even the locals know about it. The museum itself is not very big. It simply features all the tribes that live in the state with infographics about them like their population, occupation, language and districts they occupy. For a few tribes the materials they make or use are also displayed rest every tribe is displayed as a real sized model.
This museum was inaugurated by ex CM Mr. Munda and significantly a great museum which preserves almost all types of tribal information in Jharkhand including their model, used materials , populations, language etc. In short a good place for visit with solo and with kids.
Gud place to know jharkhand better
Quite an informative place, has captured a brief of all the tribes of Jharkhand, very nicely explained about their occupation, lifestyle, culture etc with the help of human figures.
The whole interior of the museum doesnt give the feel of the same.More explainations are needed to understand the tribes of Jharkhand and their nature and importance in modern era.
Its a one time visit. Dont have big expectations though. The artefacts are good and there are models made of the various tribes that have existed in Jharkhand and adjoining states
Great place to learn about the culture and heritage of Jharkhands adiwasis. You can find some early and forgotten metal instruments or skills used by the adiwasi in day to day life. Bring you one step closer to understand Jharkhand and its people.Sad to know that the movie projection is out of operated which was scheduled to start at 12 noon. Photography is not allowed inside. But worth seeing it once for its showcase..👍
You should visit this place.... nice place to visit and see some more of cultural heritage for sure.
The display is in form of "jhanki" all things look authentic and exhibited tribal statutes are realistic. Wonderful experience..
This is a wonderful place. The tribal people come to life here, and you will feel as if they are all real and actually in flesh and blood. The figurines are made exquisitely and are astonishingly well made. It is a shame that they do not permit any pictures to be taken. There rules are very strict and you should avoid taking any pics. There is a ground floor and a first floor both have a huge amount of interesting articles of tribal aura which one can satisfy our curiosity of where we originally came from aeons back.Do take out time to check out this place which is something out of the ordinary.
