Playful attraction with chainsaw tree sculptures, an aerial tramway & a 35-ft. Paul Bunyan statue.
A little pricey, but very beautiful and Instagramable location. Especially if you come during or near closing and you don’t mind, you can walk the trees, be undisturbed, ride the gondolas to the top. There’s not much to see up there, there’s a beautiful deck and a picnic area, but no concessions and the public restrooms were closed last time we went in September. One thing we really enjoyed was seeing the native American history by regions across the United States, there’s a huge museum of native artifacts by region in the gift shop.
Its totally worth it. The Rope Bridges and the gondola make seeing some of these monster trees possible. The small Museum next to the gift shop is also very nice. My 3-year-old had a blast running across the Rope Bridges
We went this summer and it was so much fun for the whole family! So glad our 2 little dogs got to enjoy it too! If you visit please keep this place pristine, and mindful of how well you take care of the Redwoods! So we we can continue to visit such gems!
Absolutely stunning sights! Advise to get here early when they open to avoid hot weather, crowds and long lines. The sky walk is breathtaking but does require flights of stairs (no strollers, height requirements). The sky trail gandala was a nice ride but too short and kind of hard to see through the dirty glass. Couldnt imagine waiting like the other reviews state as the top destination is just a small viewing platform overlooking the redwoods (beautiful but not worth an hour wait if you do, hence get there early if this is your goal). Then the way back down is either an "advance hikers only" trail or another line back on to the gandala. Overall enjoyed this place a lot since we got here early and practically had the place to ourselves. Lots of woodwork and neat facts about redwoods and Natives. This activity requires the ability to walk on steep rocky grounds. They do offer shuttle rides too, for an extra cost. Gift shop / Cafe / Museum at the end of trail too.
I had low expectations, thinking it was simply a tourist trap, but I was totally blown away by this place! A GREAT place for the kids to enjoy the redwoods. The canopy was thrilling and we loved the gondola. Beautiful paths and always something fun to see! I loved the museum at the end too.
Love this place, been many times over the years and today I was able to do the Gondola and Canopy Trail with the fam. No lines for entrance, gondola ride and canopy trail are included in the price. It was so much fun and we had a great time. My hubs did the trail from the top of the gondola down and said it is VERY STEEP. Even with good trail shoes, some parts are like slides. Not recommended for any kids. This was my daughters first time here and she liked it, wasnt a fan of the heights on the canopy trail or sky trail though 😅 She also was too slow to get on the first time so we had to wait. It slows down but its still a moving entrance and exit which can be tough for anyone.
We had a lot of fun exploring this interesting tourist attraction. People with fear of heights should be mindful of the skywalk and gondola sections. Lots of quirky old timey nostalgic type stuff. Be prepared for a bit of hiking ♡
This place was really great! It is definitely a busy place with many tourists, however, we were able to distance ourselves easily and really take in the beauty and serenity of the trees, especially up in the trees on the bridges. The business offers rides to the tram for folks that cant hike up the path. Note, the path is paved, but there is an incline. The tram was nice and the line went quickly. There are restrooms and a large gift shop with fudge and other goodies. There are a couple picnic tables outside in the shade where you can have lunch. We were skeptical because it appears like a tourist trap, but it wasnt at all! You pay your admission and you get to enjoy everything, no hidden costs or sales pitches. If you are in the area, it is worth the stop!
Amazing redwood trees! The canopy walk and the gondola are really worth it! However, the $20pp price for entry is a bit high given that you can enter most other redwood areas for free in the area.
Loved the whole experience, and got some cool pictures out of it. The highlights of walking through this shaded forest with many cool trees (and a section of carved wood sculptureswas the rope bridges through the trees and the chairlift there that took people up to this lookout point and back down. Also liked looking through the gift shop at the end with a lot of fun stuff to see there.
I had been hoping for a place to walk among the giants and this was it, and then some. Easily walkable trails, you can get up close and personal with some immense redwoods. The included sky tram to the a peak was also great. We had to wait a half hour or so in the ticket line, but once we were in there wasnt much of a crowd. It was very peaceful.
Really fun place to visit for everyone! Not too long of a walk up the hill if you do not like walking a lot, but there are still many cool things to see along the way. Cable cart is also fun to ride and grants a lovely view at the top. There is also a nice hiking trail down the hill.
I knew I had some fear of heights but figured the canopy trail would be no big deal since it had high sides but I was wrong. I made it through but it was a lot harder than I expected. Totally worth the fear. The Sky Trail wasnt bad at all and had some cool views. Highly recommend stopping here if youre in the area.
It’s straight out of the fifties or sixties with their puns and decoration but an enjoyable walk through the woods. The entry fee is $20 and you can spend a couple of hours walking through enjoying the trees. While the sky tram is nice I would recommend the drive and hike through Stouts Grove, near Brookings, over the trees of mystery as those trees are more impressive and it is free.
My kids, 3 and 5, loved it. The trail is mostly flat and gravel. If you have mobility issues you wont be able to do everything though as there are sections that are steep and lots of stairs to the rope bridge. My only complaint is the bathrooms, they were really gross.
I had so much fun there. I went up & across the suspension bridge & rode the tram. My verdigo kicked in big time but I sucked it up & did it. Im 69 & I was so scared but I would do it again. Senior rates. No separate prices for tram or suspension bridge. Everything is included in entry price. They have a senior discount. So much to see & do. Great trails..information stations. No dogs allowed. Nice gift shop with yummy fudge..
Absolute must do on your trip through the redwoods. The new (as of March 2020canopy trail is a rope bridge through the redwoods that gets you up close and personal with the trees at heights you normally would never be able to. The park has a slight "kitschy" feel, but its not bad at all. The trail is kind of a one-way deal and theres not much variation to the route, but thats OK. It took my wife and I about 1.5~ hours to walk it and that was plenty. Dogs are allowed on the trails but NOT on the canopy trail. At all. Not held, not strapped into a doggy backpack, not a purse, nothing. Just saying. The gift shop has many options. Plenty of classic gift shop trinkets as well as "Trees of Mystery" branded merch. 1 mug, 2 water bottles, a sweatshirt, and a magnet cost us $150 so heads up on that. (mug and water bottles were $30 each and a $45 sweatshirtIts definitely a must do. Trail closes at 4:30pm!
We visited 4th of July weekend and got there about 15 minutes after it opened and there was no wait but when we were leaving the parking lot was pretty full so get there early. The website states plan on half a day to visit and that may be true for some but with our group 3 adults and 5 kids it didnt take more than two hours to get through pretty much everything. That includes several rides up and down the sky tram. The visit was definitely worth it to us coming from Arizona and probably not getting to see similar things anytime soon. Nice place to see large trees, some scenic views and even an intense hike if you want.We bought a few keepsakes and the prices were about what I would expect from any other gift shop. Some decent wood carvings etc.
I never write reviews, but 10/10 BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! For $20 they have an easy hiking trail, a whole trail in the trees, a botanical garden, a gondola ride up to a view point and short trail, a bunch of historical things, (artifacts, tree facts, immersive information areasand a section of hand carved wood sculptures caved by chain saws! Super kid friendly/pets; I would definitely go again, this place was breath taking. It had SO much to do and see, I could probably go again and see things I missed, not to mention I’d pay for that view endless times again.
Had a very awesome time! Went there as a belated Fathers day. Not ADA if you have trouble being on your feet or walking up steep inclines and such you might be uncomfortable. Great exercise spending the day here. My legs are still sore 3 days later!
Make sure when you take the gondola up to take the hike down. Its about 40ish minutes and starts out steep! You can grab a walking stick at the beginning of the trek, but not super helpful. They have ropes in areas that are steep and slippery to help you. Not good for strollers or super little kids unless theyre used to hiking. Its fairly cool, but you do work up a sweat, so bring a bottle of water
Great place to visit and walk around. Veteran discount. Dog friendly everywhere except the skywalk. Took the pups on the gondolas no problem. There is an option to hike back down but it is VERY steep and slippery in several places so heed the warning signs! It was a nice trail and great trees all around but definitely not easy. Would go back again. Dogs had a blast also!
Awesome place to visit! I believe its like $20 for entrance. Love the views & all the crazy trees! 🌳 Went with friends & family, had a blast walking around & taking the gondola to the top. Trail down vs going back on gondola is a 6 a best between 1-10 for difficulty. If youre completely out of shape, not recommend trail back down from gondola. Great sights from heights to looking up. Crazy nature! Reminds me of the mystery spot but much bigger for a place! I would recommend visiting. The weather up north is so much fresh & colder compared to being from the bay. Had an exciting time.
Very fun trail. The canopy trail was the best part. We ended up leaving before we could get to the Sky Trail because the line was too long, so we walked back. Will definitely try the Sky Trail next time. They have a Café across the street (but we didnt go. But its nice to keep that in mind.)Also, the gift shop was really cute.
Great experience!! Beautiful scenery, fun and different sections. Felt like I got my money worth. The signs for the hike down from the gondola are accurate - steep and slippery when wet but doable if you are comfortable hiking.
Great family friendly experience. The sky bridge and gondola ride were fun. Clean and well kept facilities. Easy walking paths. Nice gift shop an museum. $20 per person 12+ and $11 for 5-11. Bathrooms located around the park so your no more than a few minutes from a bathroom.
Highly recommended when you ever in the area. But be prepared to spend 90 minutes to 2 hours because this is very unique and lots of fun things to do and see. Its worth every penny and you wont regret it.
What a treasure. Were taking an RV trip up the coast and decided to stop here. We are so glad we did!It was a bit busy, especially in the gift shop, but there was definitely tons of space inside the park--not cramped, lots of space between groups, no long lines (we went on a Monday morning so Im sure its crazier on the weekends!)It was super cool that the park was dog friendly. Dogs are allowed everywhere, even on the aerial tramway 🚡, but not the suspension bridges. The bridges are not crazy long, though, so one person can wait at the bottom with the dog, then trade off so they can go on the bridges as well. :)Oh and you do get your OWN tram for just your group. You dont have to share with any strangers.I recommend taking the aerial tram back down & not the hiking path!! The path was pretty steep and slippery mud, and we got sliiiightly lost on it 😅 It was fun, but the tram is the way to go.The gift shop was super cool and unique!! Not just cookie cutter gifts. Definitely worth your time to go here!
This was the first stop of my trip to see the Redwoods. Such an incredible experience! Loved the gift shop. Tasty fudge!Loved the hike through the trees🌲💗The talking Paul Bunyan was fantastic how he interacted with the guests.
This was so full of history. A most stop on a trip spot for some playful attraction with chainsaw tree sculptures, an aerial tramway & a 35-ft. Paul Bunyan and Babe statue. I loved my time here and would come back again. I did pack plenty of snacks and water. Also my dog Daisy had a blast too.
I wouldnt say this is a "must-see" for everyone, but we have two teenage boys and they enjoyed it. It was a fun way to see the big trees side from yet another hike. You start by walking up a trail that highlights the various types of trees. Then you get to the swinging bridges. Next are the gondolas which you can ride up to an observation tower. For those who cannot do steps or are afraid of heights, there is a trail that goes alllll the way up.On the way down you can learn about Paul Bunyan through plaques and carved pictures and statues.A cafe and gift shop awaits at the bottom.
SOOO much fun! The skybridge was amazing! Fill up your gas if your not from CA, gas prices are crazy high. Also bring food and drinks unless youve got some money to drop, they dont have drinking fountains. Lastly USE THE BATHROOM AT THE BEGINNING! the 2 on the trail are out of service and utterly disgusting.Price was a bit expensive, but for my the party of 7 with 3 kids we had a blast and stayed for about 3 hours.Souvenir shop will break the bank as well, but thats just California right? Now for real though, go to this place! It was utterly amazing definitely a place I want to go to again. The trees are bigger than you could ever imagine!
Pretty cool to walk the hanging bridges among the giant trees. Great gift shop and museum. The museum was an unexpected bonus that I found interesting and informative. The "sky gondolas" or whatever name they go by was pretty much a waste of time. All in all though, Id say yes to this as a stopping place on your way to somewhere else and probably no as a destination.
This place is a gem. I spent several hours here with my family. Children ages 11 to 14. Some of us were timid. Some adventurous. We were all happy here. The sky bridge was secure enough and adventurous enough that we all enjoyed it. The sky tram was super. The museum in the gift shop was packed full of artifacts. It is a huge collection of native American culture. So impressive. This is one tourist attraction that was well worth the price of the ticket. I love that they include all the features of the park in one ticket price. Im not big on tourist attractions but this one was highly recommended. So worth it. And Paul Bunyun might just wave goodbye to you. No kidding!
If you are in the area, you got to check this place out. This place is just really gorgeous. Huge parking lot, really clean bathroom. I saw only one bathroom in the woods which is only when you take the sky trail to the top ...but that too was not working so make sure visit before you go. I had the most amazing time, I can just sit there, close my eyes and listen to the trees for hours. Unfortunately the time and rain did not let me but I made the most of my time. Talking about the trees, these trees are not called giants for no reason. Iam just amazed walking surrounded by these beautiful piece of art. And right in the middle the rope bridges are definitely the cherry on top. Its so beautiful that anything anyone says wont do justice because you got to see it yourself. Tickets $20 which includes the sky trail. Have fun.
Love the park not too big and not small at all either. Fun for children and adults too. It’s like a great getaway and you can choose to spend half day or a day here enjoying every view. Gondola is not long like couple minutes to reach the top but not much to see on top but with a big deck that you can rest and watch further away.
This is a great experience for families. Good price for a beautiful walk in the woods & gondola ride to a magnificent view. Kids can learn a lot about these majestic trees that are hundreds of years old & impervious to pests. The trail down from the gondola is a very steep walk, so not recommended for families or anyone that is not in shape to hold themselves back on steep, slippery downhills but it is very beautiful & quiet.
This place is awesome. The entire experience is almost magical. You get to see some of natures most impressive creations. Very much worth the low price for admission. I want to come back to see in all different seasons. After the trail and sky-tram you come out into the gift shop but there also a very nice museum about the native Indian people and the many tribes inside. Everything from beautiful clothing, tools, weapons, pottery, baby carriers and more. A must stop for anyone
Such a fun place! Its been there since 1931 and in talking to my mom, both my grandparents and great grandparents had been there. Lots of neat history here, and the trees are amazing! I would have paid the entrance fee just for the suspended walkways alone. Takes about 2-3 hours to see everything at a slower pace and taking photos, so you dont need to plan to spend the whole day here. There are lots of free trailheads to add to your adventure, but we really felt this one was worth paying for.
If youre on vacation to see the redwoods, this place is a cool place to stop. It was a nice switch up from the traditional hiking in the area. Catwalks in the redwoods, gondolas to an amazing view, a nice little gift shop, and many other things too.
A lot of cool things to see and do. If you decide to walk down the mountain after riding the gondola up... You will need really good shoes, and get one of the walking sticks they provide at the top. Its a beautiful walk and well worth it... But its a mile of REALLY steep walking. Spent about 3 hours at the park. Solid experience.
Worth every penny. We had a great time and went at about 10. It was just starting to crowd when we left at about noon!! Make sure to visit the Museum at the end of the gift store. The largest collection of Native artifacts in the area. Beautifully preserved and well organized!
I first went here when I was very young on a trip with my family. Recently I was able to bring my kids here. This quirky roadside attraction features Western folklore attractions and the beauty of the redwood forest. Amazing place.
This place is amazing! My wife, me and our 2 year old daughter had a blast walking around. Right off the bat is a massive statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Once you enter the trees though they seem small lol. The walk to the sky bridges was epic, then you start walking the sky bridge and gets even better. My daughter especially loved the bridges. The gondola was great, we look forward to hiking the trail back down some day. The gift shop and museum were great to and spent an equal amount of time in it. The museum especially has all sorts of artifacts and fantastic articles to read. This place is a MUST STOP location!!
Awesome roadside attraction. Well worth the price of admission. The trees are awesome, the suspended bridges are a great way to see the park, the gondola to the top is a bit sketchy but also very fun. The Indian museum in the gift shop is also well worth a quick walk through. My 3 boys ages 7,5, and 23 months had a blast.
And ever enjoyable experience in the tall trees. The tree walk was new to me and very enjoyable. Although it is a lot of steps for those who may have issues. Those kids will sleep good tonight though. The crew working is friendly and helpful. The grounds were clean. Parking was plentiful. Big Paul and Babe the Blue Ox await everyones visit. Great family experience.
So well with it! The gift shop has all you could ever want and the Walk along the trees is not only memorable, but educational. You will get a great appreciation of nature while just having a great time. The walk along the canopy is so well done that even someone who has a fear of heights, will feel secure. There is nothing like the views from high up in the trees.
This is my second time here and I still find it amazing! When you look up at the trees it looks as though they could go on for a full mile! This trip was the first time Ive seen the Redwood Canopy Trail. I was terrified up there! Fear of heights... It was quite secure. A very cool perspective!
Had an amazing time here. Beauty at its best. Well kept trails. The tree bridges were beautiful but terrifying at the same time. The gondola ride was a must do. Definitely worth the stop. Great museums and gift shop.
This place is awesome! We came on a foggy rainy day, the trails were easy and not muddy amazing sights! The gondola ride to the top of the mountain is nice, great views! Lots of info about the trees! And only $20! Nice gift shop with native art
